Chances
Coming from controlling parents, moving to NY she thought would give her the freedom she wanted, but obstacles kept getting in her way.
Investing his money into a club which turned out to be very profitable. But the more you have the more people want to take from you.
The story was hard to hold my interest. A grown woman who kept running into the fire made no sense to me.

Good
I loved the back story and all the betrayal with the seedy side of what was happening behind Emmett’s back.
I would have given 5 stars but I have to say the author made Cassie out to be so dumb I mean she knew the danger at the club with those two having threatened her and even after Emmett told her not to go back she went because she had to just speak to Laurel… I mean she had been kidnapped and threatened and she went back to the very place her captors were at 🤦🏼♀️
Then the threat by Toni about her secret so she went to work for them again to keep that secret where there was a possibility of rape but rape was less threatening than her secret being told to Emmett… I mean come on that is just ridiculous.
Then Emmett rehired the traitor knowing they couldn’t be trusted and I don’t care what kind of slump he was in there is no way he would have done that.
Once they get back together they are really good together and I also love Dalton and how protective he is and the story gets better from there.
Her parents needed sectioned though but the author never tells us what their outcome was, the other two are mentioned but they don’t cover what exactly happened to the parents.

Cassie applies to be a dancer but once Emmett realizes who she is he offers her a waitress job instead. They both agree not to let her brother know that she is working there. Cassie is trying to get away from her parents and what they want her to do. Its not long before things heat up between her and Emmett. However, complications arise and its not smooth sailing for either of them. Will they get a chance to be together? Can they deal with her parents?
This is a great story that will captivate you from beginning to end. This is a well written and very entertaining story. Its a book that any book lover would enjoy.

He is her brother's best friend and when she goes to his club to try and get a job Emmett knows there is something about her and when he finds out who she is instead of running her off he gives her a job as a cocktail waitress. Fleeing from one crooked guy she has no need of getting onto a relationship with another. Things aren't what they appear to be, but Cassie is determined to put Emmet out of her mind and heart. Will she succeed? This story kept me glued to the pages from start to finish.

Cassie moves to NYC to escape her controlling parents, and tries to get a job as a dancer. In Emmett's club. You know Emmett - her older brother's best friend - the billionaire club owner. He won't hire her as a dancer, only as a cocktail waitress. Try as they do, they can't stay away from each other. A quite nice romance, suspense, betrayal, and horrid relatives all combine in perfect balance to make a wonderful book that I couldn't put down. This is an okay romance read, but it really didn't hold my attention as it should. I found the book to be an okay read but things just did not resonate with me. Why would a grown woman keep running toward danger?

Cassie is at Shards, an elite cabaret club in Manhattan, where she is being interviewed for a job. However, instead of being offered a job as a cabaret dancer, the owner of the club, Emmett, who happens to be Cassie's older brother's best friend, offers her a job as a cocktail waitress. This story has criminal activity, family drama, romance, and steam, ending in a HEA. Very highly recommended.

More Needed
The story premise is good. Nut it seems to be rushed. All the critical areas were rushed. If those areas were played out more I would feel the urgency. I would be more invested in the story. The story read as superficial without any depth. May e this book was a rush job. It was a ok read. Just needed more substance and depth.

This was a great romance suspense book. So many turns and good steamy scenes. I can't wait to read more by this author!
