Despite the low rating, only 3 votes, I want to say that I really like the author's writing style. If it weren't for that, I wouldn't have been able to finish the book without skipping chapters. Despite its flaws, the style is lively, the action is enough dynamic to maintain interest.
Drawback one - there is one main line and almost nothing extra. What makes ordinary people develop is the extraordinary things that happen to them. There are light touches here, like a feather, from side events. Therefore, the characters do not experience changes, they hardly develop. The nephew is like some kind of presence, like the pet that is there to validate... something, but he himself is not human. It's the same with the introduction of her ex. The only provocation in the book, regarding the actions of her ex, is rather a kind of slight strangulation in her daily life.
Disadvantage two - the action takes place as if outside society. It's out there somewhere, in the nephew's camp, in the cafe, but it's just noise. No interaction. And this is even the stronger factor that predetermines the lack of characters development. One close friend, hers, from time to time and that's all.
At least the sex in this book isn't as boring as in the others. But again the scenes are verbose and too much rambling which kills the passion. When I read such scenes, I want to feel them. In Lilian Monroe's books, the writer constantly interrupts me with various reflections and overly long descriptions of something unnecessary, too much mentalizing of what is happening, that I usually skip the sex scenes and move on. And they are so similar that I really don't miss anything.

3.0 | The photo-cover needs to be burned. It’s the devils work and it might have been a sign from God not to read the book. But I was too curious about the high rating not to read it. I imagined the main character as a described (which is absolutely not how he is pictured!!) and it was overall a solid Saturday-evening read, but it is definitely overrated.

This is a story of a woman who is white knuckling her life in search of perfection, after a depressing divorce and the story of a man who stepped up in the face of tragedy, putting his nephew above all else.
Audrey is recently divorced and now is running her own organizing business. Remy runs a mechanic shop and cares for his nephew after a fatal accident happened with his parents.
This was a sweet story and I loved the connection between being I. Charge of your life but also needing to balance happiness.
Cute, fun and sweet with a little heat.

I absolutely love romance novels that start off with a bang…uh, I mean, “a crash”…and, Lilian Monroe’s latest novel did not disappoint me in this regard. Only this author could have me wide-eyed and gripping the edge of my seat PLUS chuckle/snorting at the same time from the first few paragraphs!
In addition to decent comedic timing, another reason I adore Ms. Monroe’s novels is her ability to speak to my personal truths. Each time I read one of her novels, somewhere in her narrative, I discover a grain of the real ME. It’s downright eerie sometimes (and can cause me to break out in goosebumps because I wonder if she’s a mind-reading superhero, or maybe she’s just standing behind me playing a theremin?!). Each time, though, Ms. Monroe’s human insights create in me a sense of community. (In this novel, through her main female character, “Audrey,” she offers up the observation that perfectionism is a form of “performance anxiety.” It’s such a brilliant observation and one that deeply resonated with me when I reminisce about both my professional and personal lives.)
The other reason I love Ms. Monroe’s novels is her ability to blend humor, romance, and deep thoughts into an eminently readable narrative that is almost free of technical errors. (For the latter, kudos to her AND to her editors/beta-readers! Well done!) She also has a very readable narrative style, creates believable plots, allows her characters to evolve in realistic manners, can serve up “sexy times” without the scenes being overwrought/too graphic, and always seems to have researched the concepts that she introduces in her novels. (In the case of this novel, it was her main male character, “Remy’s” gardening skills. My husband was the only one of us who was nerd enough to know “soil blocking” was an actual thing…)
So, if you like judicious (but juicy) “steam” factors in your romance novels, canny insights into our shared humanity, well-developed (and consistent) characters, a believable plot, readable narrative voice, AND few errors, please pick up this novel and ENJOY!

A fantastic read!!
If you're new to this author, this is a great place to start!! If you are already familiar with this author - you are really going to love this one!!
This story has a strong, smart, self-made business woman who deserves someone to love her... and a hard-working, single dad who runs the local garage, who also deserves someone who loves him. This is loosely tied to characters in the Heart's Cove "Dirty Little Midlife" series, but it can be/is a stand-alone read. (I do recommend reading that series also!!)
Audrey has many facets to her personality that are easy to connect with, and I found myself wanting to be her friend! Her neighbor, Remy, is a very entertaining book boyfriend, and their chemistry and steamy attraction is easy to enjoy. It was fun to watch as their connection grew stronger. I really appreciated that these characters are a bit older, as it is very relatable, and entertaining. I just couldn't put this one down until I finished it!
I was fortunate to receive a free ARC of this story. This author consistently provides engaging and creative stories that are steamy, easy to read, and addictive. I voluntarily leave my review, and highly recommend reading this book, and any/all of her other works. Always a solid choice for a great read.

Great story!!
This is a beautifully written emotionally charged story which has engaging and realistic characters, witty banter, humour, friendships, family, challenges, intrigue, romance, and love which all leads to an entertaining, and steamy addictive page turner.
I look forward to reading more from this talented author whose work I highly recommend.

Series
This book seems to stand alone more than the other books in the series and there is very little glimpse into the other characters that made up of the heart of the first part of the series. Maybe author should move on?

Remy and Audrey’s story was largely lighthearted and fun as they went from a fling with an end date to a forever kind of love. I enjoyed their interactions which were often funny due to their opposite approaches to life and some initial awkwardness that made for a particularly memorable scene involving a milkshake. There was obvious chemistry and I liked seeing the progression of their feelings as two flawed individuals found one another and began to heal together whilst also equally accepting more than work and/or parenting into their lives.
It was enjoyable to return to Heart’s Cove as I've found all of the books to be lighthearted, fun, and to be feel-good romances much like this one. The books make up a series of interconnected standalones (starting with Dirty Little Midlife Crisis) but I’d say as the rest of the couples from previous books don’t appear as much as the book features little else besides Remy and Audrey and there's been a change in the name it makes this book stand apart on its own a little more. I would have liked more from the secondary characters, especially Danny (Remy’s nephew/son) who had a pivotal role in Remy’s actions and approach to life, but otherwise it was good.
Whilst not my favourite of the Heart’s Cove books, Filthy Little Midlife Fling delivers a fun and mostly lighthearted romance with some feel good vibes and plenty of chemistry to keep you reading.

Having really enjoyed the rest of the Hearts Cove Hotties series and been looking forward to Remy's story I was pretty disappointed by this. Perhaps I just wasn't in the mood or maybe the series has lost its sparkle, I'm not sure, but this did not give me the feel-good romcom vibes I was looking for.
Firstly, Remy was mentioned quite a bit in Dirty Little Midlife Crisis and I was sure he was Latino, both from my remembrance and his name so I was really disappointed to find that he wasn't. There's almost zero diversity in this small town and I was hoping this book might bring just a little bit finally.
I found the whole premise of Aubrey's company to be the kind of romcom nonsense fluff that just irritated me incessantly - come on, no one is making an actual living with multiple staff doing that in a small town! I just don't believe it.
And the rest of it - there was just no substance. Hardly any other characters appeared, when they did it was fleeting and they felt like caricatures, even the odd cameo from previous HCH favourites so the FMC and MMC were living in their weird nothing bubble. Neither of them had anything interesting to say for themselves except about each other or their businesses (or her ex-husband, or his kid) - no other topics exist. I forced myself not to DNF because of my love of the series but it took me several months to even start it and then six weeks of reading a few per cent at a time, just to get to the end.
I'm so disappointed as Dirty Little Midlife Dilemma is one of the very few books that I will reread (Mac is swoony) and this series got me into reading the genre several years ago. I'm sad it ended like this!

Filthy Little Midlife Fling: A Neighbors to Lovers Romance (Heart's Cove Hotties) by Lillian Monroe is an age-gap romance about finding love when least expecting it book. A frazzled hot mess of a businesswoman was driving her business van home when the brakes went out, and her neighbor's Magnolia tree brought it to a stop without loss of life. Audrey is a perfectionist, while Remy, her neighbor and owner of the Magnolia tree she hit, is more of the chaotic side of life without even a kitchen flatware sorter. Audrey arranges to work for 2 hours to organize Remy's car garage office for every hour he works repairing her van. Remy may be disorganized with his paperwork, but he has a heart of gold and took in his sister's son after she died, and Danny was orphaned. Because of his ex-wife's selfish disregard for their marriage after Danny's arrival, he has issues with commitment. While Audrey's ex-husband's new wife wants her to reorganize, her kitchen is too much to handle. How Audrey and Remy find themselves having "afternoon delight" every lunchtime is your next must-read. I loved this rom-com as it had me laughing one minute and sighing the next or saying, "You got to be kidding me," as I turned the pages as quickly as possible until the end. Once the last page was turned, I wasn't ready for the book to end. When you read a Lilian Monroe book, you either seek out more of her books to re-read or re-read the book you just finished. It is just that good.

It took me some time to organize my thoughts about this book and to write a review that could show how much I LOVED this one. While reading it, I can say that a range of feelings and moods passed by my mind. The book is funny, emotional, intense, amusing, heart-wrenching, and many adjectives that are not enough to describe it. I am just trying to show the essence of the book. Anyway, let´s talk about the story. Audrey is a divorced woman trying to keep life afloat, struggling with her feelings, business, employees, and bills to pay (of course, life is not easy). She aims to be a perfect person, and that´s the reason why she is so harsh with herself. Being perfect is the worst goal to achieve because aiming for perfection can make you feel like a failure. And she thinks that she doesn´t deserve the best in life, maybe because she is trying to protect her heart. On the other hand, Remy is a divorced man, looking after his nephew, since her sister and brother-in-law passed away. He is the hot guy living next door. But his heart is closed to new relationships. His priority in life is the well-being of his nephew and it doesn´t include a relationship. Two lives and two broken hearts. A little cozy town and a ten-year-old boy. Mix all of these and you are going to read an amazing story. More than five stars. A must-read. I truly recommend it.

This book is what happens when two people with painful pasts, find each other. They've both dealt with pain and are learning how to deal with it while striving to push forward with their lives, family responsibilities, and careers.
I loved their relationship. It was fun, steamy, caring, and deep. I also loved getting a peek at a few of the other Hearts Cove characters from the series. It was like coming back home.
Audrey's ex got exactly what he deserved. So did Audrey, Remy, and his son/nephew Danny.

I really liked the characters, how mature they were, the way they thought and acted.
A few things I didn't like (spoilers possible) :
The huge plot hole for the final "conflict" before the happy ending - which organized Person, and of all people someone who does it professionally, doesn't have an organized calendar?? How would you forget or overlook something as momentous as picking up our partner's kid???
Also the super hot sex thing came out of nowhere.
I find it hard to believe that people are happy with no or bad/mediocre sex for years/decades, and suddenly with the right person they are on fire - that just doesn't feel natural.
The biggest problem for me Was the "she is better than all the other women" trope.
It happens a lot in Romance books, and I immensely dislike it. It is mysogonistic.
And also not very romantic. This is not a competition, a partner is not a trophy you win.
You fall in love with someone for a lot of biological, unexplicable reason, and it becomes love over time and appreciation of the other person, that is at least how it normally happens. I dont want to have to be the best, most compassionate, sexiest and other superlatives for my partner to love and cherish me.
All in all a good read, with good characters.

So I’ve decided to DNF this book. It’s not awfully bad as their rating shows, but it took me a long time to get out of my slump to get into another one because I forced myself to finish I book I wasn’t feeling.
Things I didn’t enjoy about this book:
- the heroine needed therapy, I’m no expert but if feels like she low key was abused by her husband and at the very least given her issues with conceiving she should have received professional help.
While this is fiction is important to help people realize how therapy can help.
- it’s not even two months and they are thinking in terms of love, while is not exactly insta love I was hoping for things to progress slower, but I recognize this is matter of personal preference
- they had sex with literally dirty hands, once seen I cannot unsee it
- IMO the hero has very unrealistic romantic thoughts about the heroine, which honestly feels more unrealistic than meeting a billionaire for me.

In any case the book was good enough that it got me to the 65% but feels very predictable what should happen in the next half so …
Things I didn’t enjoy about this book:
- the heroine needed therapy, I’m no expert but if feels like she low key was abused by her husband and at the very least given her issues with conceiving she should have received professional help.
While this is fiction is important to help people realize how therapy can help.
- it’s not even two months and they are thinking in terms of love, while is not exactly insta love I was hoping for things to progress slower, but I recognize this is matter of personal preference
- they had sex with literally dirty hands, once seen I cannot unsee it

Oh My! I have loved every one of the Hearts Cove books, but at the moment I love this one best! Remy and Audrey are a wonderful couple, both with a lot of issues. Both have been divorced and Remy is raising his nephew when his sister and husband died. He feels like he has to put Danny first in everything in his life, therefore having no time for a relationship. Audrey is just a mess and I loved her for it. She is an organizing goddess, and that is the name of her business but she is also very anxious which comes across as a perfectionist, and because of all that has no time for a relationship. How foolish they both are and trying to make things work made for a wonderful story. I have enjoyed Ms. Monroe’s writing for some time now as her characters and her storylines are believable. Thanks for a great read. I voluntarily read and reviewed an advanced copy of this book. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

This series always has me leaving in a good mood. This story, along with the previous ones, is about a mature woman finding love again.
Remy and Audrey meet when she crashes into his magnolia tree and they just happen to be neighbors. She’s been divorced from her cheating ex for several years and has immersed herself in her business. She’s a perfectionist and suddenly life is throwing her a series of curve balls.
Remy is a single dad to his 10 year old nephew, who he gained custody over after his sister and her husband were killed in a car crash. He puts Danny first, above all.
Remy and Audrey choose to enter into a month long fling. As time passes though, they both find themselves connecting more to each other.
After a little bit of angst, and some great ex pay-ip, Remy and Audrey get their HEA.
If you haven’t read Heart’s Cove before, I suggest starting at book one and falling in love with it all.

I have to be honest. The first couple chapters in and I was not liking this fmc. 😝
But I love this author and pushed through and very VERY quickly fell in absolute love w the fmc and the mc. 😍
Like Chap 3. 🤣
Maybe the fmc’s perfectionist tendencies hit too close to home. 🤷🏻♀️
Whatever it was, the story blossomed and grew into a very sweet and spicy romance bt two broken people.

It was the writing in this one that kept me reading. It's not perfect, and there were some things missing that I think the story could have benefit from (esp. more interaction with the nephew, who was the main driving factor of all of the MMC's actions). The grovel also was non-existent. I don't care that we get a chapter showing a few paragraphs of the MMC's anguish over his own stupidity, the FMC has no way to know he won't react like that again in the future without him taking measures to show her. Unfortunately he doesn't before she's in his arms and they're reconciling.
But regardless, I enjoyed this one. The sweet parts were very sweet. The awkward moments were entertainingly good. And I didn't hate either character, which has been the sole issue with so many books I've read lately. They were both flawed characters who found each other and slowly began to heal together.
Plus the epilogue was short but very sweet. I really loved the part at the magnolia tree.

Breaking down walls to allow yourself to love again
Audrey has already had a bad day when her cheating ex husband calls to hire her to help his wife organize their home. When the breaks on her beater van go out as she is going down a hill that ends in the ocean. She manages to miss a group of old ladies by swerving into her neighbors yard right into his prize magnolia tree. It is a really bad day but maybe the best thing that could have happened to them.
Remy andAudrey both built walls and stayed out of anything that could become a serious relations because of failed marriages. Remy has his nephew to raise and Audrey’s life is trying to make a success of her business.
I loved seeing these two build a relationship that is good for both. I also enjoyed the fact that Audrey’s ex got what was coming to his cheating self.
It wasn’t what I expected but I loved it. And I love when that happens.

Phenomenal!
I LOVED THIS BOOK! The story of Audrey and Remy is fun and flirty and a definite must read! Both have been hurt in the past and neither seems to want a relationship. She runs her own organization company and he is the town mechanic. They meet when her van malfunctions and she crashes on his property. An attempt to apologize will lead to a deal to organize his office. Things grow quickly between them as their chemistry is off the charts. There will be a few bumps and bruises along the way but in the end, they will find that they truly can depend on each other and they can have it all - a successful business and a loving relationship. Add in a hysterical scene regarding a cutlery drawer and you have a book that is an absolute joy to read!

Remey is a good guy who takes family responsibility seriously when he raises his sister's son after she and her husband die in a car accident. Remey's wife doesn't want to be a mother so he divorces her. Remey's life now is all about raising his nephew. Audrey has been divorced for six years and her business is her life since she couldn't have children, which is why her ex divorced her. When she was married she had to be the perfect wife and have the perfect house. After moving back to Heart's Cove,Audrey is having a bad week when the brakes go out in her van and she crashes into Remey's prize magnolia tree.. Audreys friend tells her she needs a fling and so she and Remey decide on a month-long fling but feelings start to develop on both side and each has a reason not to get involved in a relationship. this is a wonderful book to read

Book 10 of the Heart’s Cove Hotties is another standalone in the series. Audrey is a 40 yr old divorcee who has started over with her own business. I have enjoyed all of the books in this series, primarily because they bring in characters from the other books. This book really only brought back two characters which was a disappointment for me, but I loved the story as always. Be sure to read it!

This is book is a standalone set in Heart's Cove series. Remy and Audrey's story was hot! They've both been pushing people away building up walls after their divorces. Remy is raising his nephew. Audrey's a perfectionist in a bit of tail spin, everything seems to be going wrong for her and it gets worse when she realizes the breaks on her car aren't working at all. She ends up hitting her neighbors Magnolia tree. Remy is mad about the tree but he's drawn to Audrey. They start off as a fling but it soon turns to something more. I received a copy of this book from the author and this is my honest review.

First of all, we need a million more books like this one… with real people leading real lives…especially middle aged people who aren’t billionaires or sex goddesses. The one thing about this book that irked me, however, was all the sex. It’s not that I don’t like the smut… I love the smut… it’s that, as a happily married 40 something myself, I know for dam sure no mid 40’s couple is having sex every day on their lunch break and 3 times on Friday night. You’re telling me this 40 year old mechanic doesn’t have bad knees and arthritis in his hands! And they were together for a month without the drama of PMS and period cramps. Pssshhh… please.

Filthy Little Midlife Fling is a fantastic romance focusing on Audrey, who was recently divorced by her cheating husband and is struggling with her Organizing Goddess business, and Remy, a divorced mechanic who is raising his deceased sister’s son, Danny. Both characters have been hurt in the past by their ex-spouses and have no intention to marry again until their attraction becomes more than they can resist. I highly recommend this heartfelt and humorous book with its amazing characters, strong emotions, plot twists, and sizzling passion. I loved loved loved this book ❗❗❗❗ Audrey is an overachiever. She puts herself into whatever she's doing to make sure everything is perfect, the problem is, nobody's perfect. He gave up her life for her first husband did everything his way, and took his abuse add something that was normal in her life. When she ran into Remy's tree her whole life changed. At first Remy was mean but that was his way of trying to stay away from her, even though he wanted her. This book really made me think about things. How two lives can come together even though neither was happy alone but both fought it. But it was just meant to be. Loved this book ❗❗❣️

Loved this book. Remy and Audrey are perfect for each other. Both of them are just trying to move on with their lives after divorce. Remy is running a garage while being a single father to his nephew. Audrey is moving on from an Ex who always demanded perfection from her, then cheated on her. She’s refocused her life on growing her business and taking care of herself. Neither her or Remy think they want relationships, so they agree to a fling. Both quickly realizing that they want so much more. Low on the drama. High on the spice! Another fantastic addition to Hearts Cove.

Remy and Audrey - SWOON. I love all the couples of Heartland Cove. Each has their own struggles, strengths and stories to finding happiness. The characters are engaging, realistic, and relatable. For Remy the silver fox mechanic and Audrey the organization goddess, their paths crossing seems inevitable seeing they are next door neighbors. However their meet cute happens when her brakes go out and she crashes into his magnolia tree. An apology pie and a fling is what Audrey’s BF suggests. And is just what they both need. I highly recommend this book and series.

I was lucky to get an ARC and this was her best book I loved it I love the characters that are in their forties and still find love and relationship. Remy is a hot mechanic who's taking care of his nephew who is his top priority. Audrey is having a terrible 6 years her lousy husband trying to get her business which she's an organizer, and she meets him by moving next door and hitting his prized magnolia tree so you know Sparks are going to fly. This was funny mild heartbreak but a wonderful story.

Depth and Discovery
This book was so much more than a romance. Audrey and Remy embody the fears, strife and struggles that so many go through in life. I found myself relating to both of them on many levels. Ultimately, their story is a lesson I need to remind myself of; Life is messy and it’s okay to not be perfect. Sometimes in embracing the not perfect parts of life is where you find yourself.
This was a great read, with depth, heart and heat. Filthy Little Midlife Fling was my first read by Lilian Monroe, but it won’t be my last.
