KC Kingmaker lives in San Diego and has been writing and reading fantasy and romance for years.

"Briarwitch Academy" was KC’s first foray into paranormal romance, trying to bridge the genres to make something steamy, funny, mysterious, action-packed, and most of all, fun!

"Dragon Shifter Dominion" came after, trying to meld that same steaminess with traditional fantasy, to create a romantic fantasy explosion!

"Shadowblade Academy," KC’s third series, is technically a spin-off of Briarwitch Academy, though it can be read as a standalone series. It has just as much intrigue and mystery and steam as the others, but things get a bit darker.

"Camelot Untold," KC’s fourth series, is a deep, dark dive into the rich lore of Arthurian legends. It’s reverse harem fantasy romance.

"Robin Hood and Her Merciless Men" is KC’s fifth series, and another spicy, dark retelling of an iconic legend.

Struggling with the logic inconsistencies

I am partway through book 3 and really struggling with the decision to keep reading through to the end. The writing is pretty good overall. I like the characters even though they get annoying at times. I am definitely engaged in the plot and want to see how it ends.

However, I am struggling with the logic gaps. Dax’s family is supposed to have moved from the Amazon to the Appalachian rainforest. There are no rainforests along the Appalachian mountains and I get thrown out of the storyline each and every time I read those words. I get that this is a fantasy and the author has full creative control over the world, but the author either needs to explain how this world differs from the real world or make up a place.

I also don’t get how a mission can be important enough for the Queen of the Dragons to be involved but the school’s Headmaster then refuses to allow the students who promised her to resolve it to actually resolve it. He won’t put any of the school’s other resources against it either.

There are other logical inconsistencies that are getting to me that would involve spoilers. It’s all just adding up.

Well, just look at my numerous Notes to see I had more than a few comments about this series. There were contradictions, lack of details, confusing timelines and some of the worst cock descriptors I’ve read. I almost stopped reading when it was referred to as a “unit” 😂. The sexy times definitely aren’t this book’s strong suit.

I made it through to the end but I skimmed a lot of the internal monologue that became more prevalent around the 60% mark. The ending wasn’t good at all. It’s hard to find a good RH Academy it seems, read this one if you can’t find anything else.

Filled with excitement and adventure. The author adds each man in different sections of the series, until all of 4 of them are hers. Still coming to grips on how this 5 way functions, but it works for her. They each have hurdles to cross and crosses to bear but together they concur them all. I enjoyed reading this series.

Truly a series only for adults

This was a great story line, but the sex scenes were entirely to graphic for my taste and seemed unnecessary for the story. They were simply graphic filler. The books did not need that much pornographic detail, which is why I did not rate five stars.
