This complete series omnibus includes Wolf Shunned, Pack Claimed, Queen Crowned, and Legacy Fulfilled, plus a bonus scene . When you’re a nineteen year-old girl who can beat the crap out of every wolf in your pack, suddenly it’s not so great.
Love isn’t everything, I know; but even the most powerful she-wolf submits to her mate. If you can’t be beaten, you can’t be mated.
And an unmated wolf has no place in the pack.
My one hope is the clan gathering in the Blackwood Fortress. Every wolf in the continent attends, and a few seriously sexy wolves catch my eye. I’m bound to find at least one who can match me, right?
Then there’s my other My pack leader is a grade-A jerk. After treating me like a genetic freak my whole life, he suddenly decides to stake a claim. But I can’t refuse the challenge, and my wolf won’t back down. Either I submit to the pack leader and become mated to his skeezy pelt, or I win the challenge and my freedom… by taking his place as pack leader.
Only no one has ever heard of a female pack leader, and if I become one, I’ll never find a mate.
Be This is a slow burn romance in which the heroine keeps all of her men. Once you pick this story up, you won’t be able to stop devouring it until the very last page.

"This entire series has been awesome! It’s a completely different take on wolves I’ve never read before and I loved it! I was hooked from the first page in book 1. I couldn’t stop reading until I got to the end of the entire series. I highly recommend this series if you like shifter books."
"As I sit back and think about this series coming to an end I am pretty much just grinning and giddy over a full epic journey that never let me down along the way, right up to a conclusion that felt perfect. This is a fast paced, action packed, epic read. It reads like a dystopian sci-fi horror with some sweet sexy slow burn romance sprinkled throughout. This series truly is the perfect blend of intriguing and memorable characters, especially Kali, combined with an intense and gripping plot. I guarantee you'll be locked in your seat for the whole ride."
"There was never a dull moment in any of the books. Such a depth to each of the characters, you felt you knew them and couldn’t wait to see what they were up to next. Wonderfully written with twists and turns, ups and downs, and ins and outs. You never knew where it was going to lead you. Just sad it came to “The End”."
Hi! I'm Laurel, I love all things fantasy, magic, and sci-fi, so you may find that my books have surprising twists that you didn't see coming.
I'm an avid traveller and adventurer, and I find my travels inspire stories I want to write! I have an amazing daughter and we currently live in the shadows of the Smoky Mountains. I love a good craft cocktail, sunny beaches and snowy slopes, and a cozy chair with a nearby fireplace for the perfect read.
With a few exceptions (which I will address), I really enjoyed book one of this series. I finished it excited to continue the story. However, that excitement wained as the series draggggggggs. Time went on. Days went by, in fact, where I just couldn't seem to find the end. This despite the plot events slowing down and getting repetitive. I started dreading having to pick the book back up. I honestly think the author could cut enough chaff to reduce the series by an entire book! I never quite got to the point of disliking it. But I sure did get awfully bored.
The writing is clean and easy to read though, and I liked the characters well enough (individually and together). I liked that the men became family among themselves, as well as with Kali. A significant chunk of the books is about them learning to give up their toxic machismo, follow a woman, and come to accept that having some softness doesn't make them weak. I thought Night addressed some surprisingly heavy topics in intelligent ways throughout the series.
There is surprisingly little sex in the series. It's not fade to black, but there are not many sex scenes, and none of them are particularly explicit. I definitely wouldn't call them overly erotic. (All but one of them is a virgin. So, no one knows enough to really get down from the get-go, and no single male mate gets more than one sex scene.) So, those looking for a Why Choose on the "cleaner" side could read this fairly comfortably. (But those looking for a spicy read will likely be disappointed.)
In the beginning, my biggest complaint was the age of the characters. They are all 19, weeks from turning 20. (Something important happens at 20.) Nothing about any of the characters feels 19. Most of them are the leaders of their clan, some having been so for years. They are experienced, jaded, and authoritative in a way that feels at least 35, not 19. This is addressed in the narrative with wolves maturing faster, etc. But it still yanked me out of the narrative over and over again because they so very much do not feel the age they are meant to be. (Plus, maturing faster means things like mating and bearing children are shifted back several years to accommodate, too, and that's just icky. Especially since the characters are appropriately uncomfortable with 15-year-olds having babies, which counters the whole 'matures early' narrative to accommodate modern Western ideals.)
My biggest complaint, however, is not a plot point, per se (though it sure feels like one). I'm not making any allegations against the author, but I do want to acknowledge that there is something seriously hinky going on with race in the books. We're repeatedly told the heroine is unusual and stands out as more beautiful than anyone else because she is fair-skinned, blonde, and blue-eyed. We are explicitly told that most people are dark (haired, eyed, skinned). So we have a 'not-a-drop' blonde who is more beautiful, powerful, and dominant than anyone else, coming to save (and rule) all the muddle skin/hair/eyed people. Read that as not white, though that terminology is never actually used. Even the single explicitly coded black man is never referred to as such.
And if this was just a time or two, I might not say anything. But this happens over and over again. The heroine has five mates, so there are five opportunities to talk about someone seeing her for the first time, narrative descriptions of the societies in general—five different clans, actually—and just a plethora of chances to admire Kali's looks (imagine Kali from the Game of Thrones show and you'll be in the ballpark) and talk about people and their looks.
I picked the pattern up fairly early and couldn't stop seeing it. But then it got worse. [This is a little bit of a spoiler.] The main characters are post-apocalyptic, genetically non-human werewolves. At some point, the group discovers that there are, in fact, still some true humans secretly alive. And, you guessed it, while they aren't as striking as Kali, their limited genetic gene pool leaves them all fair and blond, and their circumstances have them miles above and beyond the primitive wolves technologically. The only true humans in the book are blond/white (and Christian, as it happens), while the non-humans are not. In fact, Kali even asks if there could have been some intermating between the humans and the wolves since she looks like the humans more than the wolves.
I don't know that the author made purposeful racial associations here, but she did make them, and it is not even subtle. Frankly, I don't know if internalizing such racial biases to the degree they slip through into your writing by accident is truly better than doing it on purpose. Lastly, before you consider coming for me to argue such explicit worship of the blond doesn't necessarily mean white, read some Tressie McMillan Cottom, who writes about blonde as a signifier of race. Or here, have a TikTok primer that crossed my feed with truly miraculous timeliness as I formulated this review.
I also thought that the wolf/shifter aspect of the plot was underutilized. The wolves play very little part in the story. As a result, I kind of feel like the characters could have been genetically modified in ways that would make a lot more sense—just stronger, or heartier, or bigger humans, for example—without going all the way to able to shift into wolves and it would have been a stronger plot element.
All in all, I was super icked out by the race issue, but otherwise enjoyed book one and was apathetic about the last three. I didn’t hate them, but they didn’t light me on fire either.
I got the complete series through Kindle unlimited and I'm glad I did. I'm not sure if I would have finished the series if I had to read the books separately. It was ok but repetitive. And very much a slow burn.
I read the complete series so this is a review for all the books. I think we are introduced to this new world well and there were enough years between the end of civilization and now for things to work. I didn’t hate the characters but I didn’t really love any of them either. I felt more connected to Rowan because he shared the most with Kali. So there was so character development that was lacking. For all the time we spent on the slow burn not much grew in their relationship other than this magical connection. I did feel like their quest was pretty lame. They didn’t encounter too many crazy things on this quest and the one of the things that was built up was this super special thing Kali needed to get to before the Wraith King but It was a total dude in terms of excitement. They walked in with no problem and waled back out. The king never even made a play for it. Some plot holes abounded. Especially regarding what happened to their outposts. I also think the wolves were almost unnecessary. They only use them for challenges and then we don’t see them again. Seemed like a ton of effort was put into developing that plot line but nothing ever happened with it. Disappointing! if you want a slow burn that doesn’t get you too hot and when it comes to fruition it still isn’t that hot more like a tepid bath and a small amount of excitement, this might be the series for you.
The FMC is called Callia or Callie for short. This is a dystopian post apocalistic world. Basically, everyone is a wolf shifter and they live in 5 main clans. Callie belongs to the central clan. Her problem is that is is extremly dominant with her wolf and on top of that is the best warrior in the clan. if any member of the clan is without a mate by the time they turn 21, they get kicked out. In order to find a mate, a male must challenge a female and win. Unfortunately for Callie, she never loses and therfore is never able to take a mate. She leads the forces of the central pack and they go on missions to kill Ravfes. These Ravfes are like half vampire and half zombie and pose a great threat to all the clans. every 5 years all the clans meet up to celebrate and hold mate challenges. Callie hopes that being surrounded by new people, she might find males that are strong enough to compete with her dominance. Her best friend Emery is extremely submissive and but somehow they get along great. they have some make-out sessions but of course, both have to keep their virginity for their future mates. At this celebration, Callie meets some potential mate candidates but an issue arises when they all challenge her. There is more to the story and it has lots of twists, cute moments, and so much fighting. I loved this FMC because she is really strong, really smart and does not take any shit from anyone. There were only a handful of spicy scenes but the ones they had were good!

This is a beautiful omnibus edition of Laurel Night’s Alpha Queen Legacy series which follows Kaliya a warrior from the Central Pack.
Kaliya is a wonderful FMC full of wit and worldly innocence even though she is a fierce warrior that protects her home from the Night Wraiths. She is the most dominant member within her pack which leads to conflict and struggles as the other shifters find her hard to be around, especially as it’s a male lead society. The only person she truly has is her best friend Emory who doesn’t mind her dominance and adores her. When the clan packs up to travel to the gathering Kali hopes to find a mate before she ages out and gets banished from the only home she has ever known. More drama unfolds at the gathering as not one but 4 Alphas step up to try and clam her and the Elders send them on a quest to fulfil a prophecy said to rid the world of the Night Wraiths.
Laurel has done an amazing job bringing this world to life and the detail to the characters and their growth was lovely to read. If you love slow burn RH, shifters, dystopian foundations, strong FMC and multi POV give this series a go.
I absolutely loved Laurel Knight's four-book series featuring a kick-butt heroine wolf-shifter, Kariya! This is my first taste of Knight's work, and I'm so happy I found her! Kaliya is a strong, thoughtful, determined heroine. She rarely makes totally emotional decisions, and her rational thinking makes her journey possible. Even when she is hurt by her mates, she continues on her epic travels for the good of all her people. Each of her mates have great distinct personalities, and the slow-burn relationships are worth the wait for consummation. It is hard to pick a favorite mate, but I am always fond of an underdog, so Emory has to be my choice. Even though she has a history with him, the hurt he causes her is the worst and so the journey to forgiveness the longest. I completely recommend this series to shifter fans and readers who love a well-written slow-burn series. This is now one of my most favorite authors!
I tried to read it as a group buddy read but I've ploughed through the whole thing in under a week because I just could not put it down!
It's an excellent adventure plot driven series. There is romance and it is why choose, but the plot is the driving force, and there's very little spice (5 very small m/f scenes nearer the end of the series, nothing to graphic or explicit).
I loved all the characters and their development, the way they became a true family was just so heart-warming. By the end of the series I wasn't quite ready to let them go.
🐺 Characters are on a quest to save their people 🐺 Slow burn 🐺 Why Choose romance 🐺 Wolf Shifters 🐺 Badass FMC 🐺 Found family
When the rules in the world that you know, start to not define your reality anymore, you have to find answers somewhere. Often it is in the past, your cultural legacy, and the wisdom of your elders that you find clarification in how to move forward. This authors incredible strength in world building, character evolution, & weaving a story together into a believable world that you can step into for a quick break from real life makes reading her stories a joy. Your writing breathes life into all your characters so that they become like a close friend, and I can’t wait to see how their story turns out.
Wow. Just wow. I’ve felt so many things while reading this series—frustration, fear, elation, and a million others—and that was down to what an amazing storyteller Laurel is. One of the things I loved most was the worldbuilding. There was so much lore and each piece of the puzzle built a picture that just never quite made sense—until it did. I still have so many questions about the world at large, but that has nothing to do with the series, just my curious nature. It’s definitely a slow burn, which I don’t read as often as I should, but for this story it really made sense. This is a series I’m likely to read time and time again.
Fantastic books! They had me invested from the moment I started and I could not put it down. I read through all 4 book in what felt like 1 sitting and I never felt overwhelmed or bored once. I had a really good time and I highly recommend these for a nice long weekend binge. I have a few questions about the logistics of certain things but really enjoyed regardless. If you are a person who gets caught up on details you might be a little annoyed but not nearly enough to not still enjoy and have a great time. The smut is not bad but nothing amazing and it takes awhile, the wait makes sense but just a warning for those who like it early.
What an amazing and fantastic journey this story was. It had romance, mystery, action and one brave and awesome FMC. The storyline was amazing. And, her mates were all top-notch because wow, they all brought a little something-something to the table which just made everything superb. This series was a page-turner right from the beginning and trust me, it will entertain you right to the end. This is definitely a re-read in my books!
I finished the entire book in about 7 hours. The slow build up and conflicts were realistic. I felt the story progressed in an authentic manor but I have to admit the discoveries in the last 40% of the book me that fly by. Each character has their own story, trauma, expectations, and concerns making their POV more interesting. I'm partial to the life and death desperate scenes and tensions and this book delivered well on angst and heartache. Well done!
I fell in love with these books and the characters! I loved how Laurel built up these worlds. It took me through every emotion several times over! Kali and her guys work well dynamically as a team. I'm sad to see it end but will be buying these for my home she's soon! A definite must read series!!!
I love this series. I found the storyline incredibly unique and the world building top notch. It has a dystopian feel with zombie like creatures. The FMC is perfect. She’s strong and flawed and her growth is so well done. I found the whole series to be full of action, angst, surprises, and ultimately the heroes prevail. My kind of books!
It took me awhile to finish it(a couple days because of work and sleep) but I FINSIHED IT AND LOVED IT! The books are all amazing and very well written, you can feel the emotions and tension of the characters, the love they feel and all of it just makes everything so perfect!
I love this series so much. So glad it's all in one gorgeous book now. Now I can live in this world without having to hit the end of a book and switch (yes I know it's "lazy" but I call it convenient). Also the authors writing is amazing, and builds the world these characters are in so beautifully.
Loved this series. Kali is a female wolf that is every bit an alpha as any male. Due to this she will have trouble finding a mate because they want her to submit. I loved the story and the men she meets and the plot twists along the way. This series does not disappoint.
A new take on a dystopian future that explores the blend of science and fiction. Plus some seriously great guys to sink you teeth into, what’s not to love?
It’s a bit of a slower burn but it’s worth the read, the build is great and the plot line epic.
Destined to be the Alpha Queen with five mates( one from each pack). It is fortold by the Ancients that she will deliver the packs from the wraiths. Awesome paranormal series filled with action, and intrigue. Couldn't put these stories down !!!!
The Complete Alpha Queen Legacy adds a distinctly unique spin to both werewolf legend and zombie apocalypse tales. I was captivated from page one and completely satisfied by the end. A great series. I'm looking forward to other books from this author.
This is literally the third time I have read this series. So, thank you MS Night, for the fantastic read. I am sure by now, everyone reading this knows that I would absolutely recommend. Happy Reading!
Amazing slow burn series that I enjoyed all the way to the end. Looking for a series with a strong female, hot sweet alphas, and an epic journey then check out this omnibus.
Ehhh it was an ok story, kept me interested enough to finish all 4 books. I felt though it went in and on and on and on in some parts. Just get to the point! A lot of repeating things too.
