Paid to be Cinderella for the night? What’s the catch?
CarinaI’m going through a rough time. My grandmother’s hospital bills are piling up, and I just lost my job. When a billionaire offers me $20,000 just to attend a masquerade ball and dance with a particular man, no strings attached, of course I’m going to say yes.
RyanFor years I’ve been secretly running a monthly masquerade ball hoping to find my spark, my soulmate. So far I haven’t had any luck, and time isn’t on my side. I have seven months to get married or I lose my inheritance. Will I meet the girl of my dreams on time?
How to Break a Billionaire's Heart is a three-part Midnight2--Until Summer (novel length)3--Until Forever (novel length)
Liliana Rhodes is a New York Times and USA Today Best Selling Author who writes romance with fun, engaging characters. Blessed with an overactive imagination, she is always writing and plotting her next stories. She enjoys movies, reading, photography, and listening to music. After growing up on the east coast, Liliana now lives in California with her husband, son, two dogs who are treated better than some people, and two parrots who plan to take over the world.
An extremely stupid sex packed retelling of the first part of the Cinderella story.
Get blackmailed into going to a ball. Meet a guy. Dance with him Go to a quieter place to talk Sex from him within 15 minutes Say I’m coming 3 times while the clock strikes 12. Yell I have to go and run away. 🤮 If this is women’s erotica, it sucks!
I love me some Cinderella retellings......and no one told me to skip this 😂😂😂😂😂👀💩
She loses her job but someone tells her she can make $20 by dancing with someone and leaving at 12.
She goes to the masquerade ball and meets this guy she's supposed to dance with. Then he's squeezing her boobies like they his stress ball nip noobs and they cumming hard 👀 okur.
I had enough at that point and knew it was a fuxking end 🖐🖐👎
This Age Gap Billionaire Romance is available for free on Amazon Kindle Prime Reading and it’s a short novella of 60 some pages therefore a really quick read however the plot line doesn’t flow and the characters fall flat.
Carina Cameron only has one person in life her grandmother. And she’s in the hospital, fresh out of surgery, and needs care her insurance doesn’t cover. Carina’s age is undisclosed however readers are made to presume she’s around twenty-five years old when she mentions the job she got right out of high school and held for seven years before getting fired. The man responsible for Carina’s jobless predicament makes her a proposition she cannot refuse: he will pay her twenty thousand dollars to go to the monthly Carnival Ball and dance with the man wearing the hunter green and gold filigree mask, but Carina must not give him her name and she must leave the ball by midnight. It’s like a true modern-day Cinderella and he’s her Fairy Godfather with wicked strings attached.
Ryan Stirling is one of the wealthiest men in New York; at least he would be if his inheritance wouldn’t be in trust by twelve trustees chosen by his late father. To claim it fully he must marry by his fortieth birthday which is seven months away. To find his bride-to-be, he’s been hosting these masquerade balls in the hopes to feel the “spark” he’s looking for. It’s been five years of monthly balls and he’s yet to find the one, will he find her before time runs out?
In a true Cinderella moment, Ryan sees Carina walk into the ball and finally feels the spark he’s been waiting for, he wastes no time getting by her side and as the night progresses things heat up between them quickly, but the connection is two dimensional, lacking. As the clock chimes midnight Carina runs out with Ryan trailing after her. Unlike Cinderella Ryan doesn’t find his princess. Carina returns to her Fairy Godfather who has another proposition for her; let’s just call it like it is blackmail. Now she has until summer to make her prince fall in love with her and then vanish from his life.
The confusion in the plot line is jarring the way it goes back and forth, details from previous chapters are mixed up in further chapters, as if to make decisions taken seem more rational, and the lackluster connection between the characters are issues that are perhaps due to the shortness of the novella and made this a 2 star read. Maybe Rhodes next book in the series Until Summer will show more character depth and an ebbing plotline.
A short serial start of what Cinderella may have been like if she wasn't so nice, a bit more blackmailed by the fairy and the "prince" had thrown honor out the window. Basically Cinderella meets 50 Shades without the BDSM
The story even for a short basically just sets-up the serial for what is to come. The reader is introduced to the characters, the motives mostly underlying the events and what is at stake while getting the story from the two separate point-of-views of the main characters.
So far Ryan's character seems the weaker of the two and that he is almost a dupe, which I would hope changes later on in the story. And the way the story ends with further set-up almost makes me promise I know who the villain is, his motives behind it and how this story ends.
Basically a fluff fairytale erotica that's quick to read and sample without getting the rest of the story.

I decided to read this book to help me reach my reading goal faster and I was not disappointed. Even though this is a short read at only 63 pages, it does not disappoint and I felt so hooked that i basically finished it all in one evening - (two sittings tho as my attention span is bad haha ) . There was so much packed into the storyline that it makes me intrigued to read the whole trilogy. This is a billionaire romance but the first book is a little fairytale themed/ kind of like a fractured retelling of Cinderella.
I love how the characters have this real sense of chemistry and there is romance but it is also spicy 🌶️. Definitely recommend Tropes: 👑 older x younger 👑 billionaire 👑 insta love 👑 virgin FMC 👑 hidden identities
3.25⭐️ AHHHH I didn’t know this was part of a series. It ended on a cliff hanger! But, for a short story, I enjoyed it! Think modern Cinderella but spicy. 🌶️ I also loved that Carina was doing all she agreed to do for the benefit of her ill grandmother. It made the stakes higher for her. The nods to Cinderella were perfect. I had to keep reminding myself that it was a short story since Carina and Ryan were instantly attracted to each other and making our ten minutes later (although it kind of went down like that in the real Cinderella too? 😂) I’m definitely intrigued and might continue on with this series!
Contemporary retelling of Cinderella. A girl down on her luck with a grandma she cares for. A wealthy businessman with an opportunity for her. Another wealthy businessman who is looking for his one true love
It’s short. It’s fast. It’s got a steamy scene. It’s got a sappy guy you want to like. A down in luck younger girl you want to have her cake and eat it too. And a guy you want to throat punch.
I actually like the premise a lot behind it but I would have liked a lot more in it, it felt too short and left me hanging hard. But I know it’s a novella series, so I’ll have to check out the others to see how it unfolds! I’m rounding up to 4 because I give it a 3.5 stars.
If I could put zero stars, I would. The beginning of the story was intriguing, which kept me. The only spice scene I found to be very mediocre and bland. The book was too short, in my opinion. I feel it may have potential if the spice was A LOT spicier and the storyline actually ended at a good spot. The ending just dropped off suddenly and I was left very confused and annoyed by Carina's obsession of caring for her grandmother. I wanted to know if they ever meet again. Or if she follows through with everything.

This is a very interesting Read you won’t be disappointed.Fired from her job Caria was paid a lot of money to go to a masked ball and dance with the handsome Ryan Sterling.Things are sizzling between them but carina only got paid to stay until midnight so she had to run.Would Ryan and Carina meet again. You got to read to find out ,but be prepared it’s ends in a cliffhanger.
2.5 stars This was part of a billionaire anthology. I had no idea it part of a trilogy. That trilogy is not available on KU. So I won’t be reading the rest. But I can guess the outcome. This is a semi sexy retelling if Cinderella. Why does her former boss want her to meet the mysterious man? Why does he torture her with the money to assure her grandmother’s care, to break the man’s heart? Well, I can guess. While it was entertaining to begin with that last part is creepy. I won’t continue.

This is a romance which comes in serial form! This is the first book! The couple is Carina & Ryan! She is a shy girl who is more involved with her Grandmother then herself and thus is not worldly! Ryan is looking for the love his life or the spark! He throws Masquerade Balls in hope of finding her!he hopes to meet the girl without letting her knows who he is - a Billionaire!
I read this as an ARC but, that didn’t influence me! I definitely recommend reading this book
✨️Book Review✨️ Until Midnight - Liliana Rhodes (63📖) (2nd August - 2nd August) 3⭐️ 2🌶
Imagine you get fired from your job just to be hired to do the Cinderella experience. Find the target, dance with him and leave at midnight. That's all Carina needs to do to get a large amount of money to help her grandmother's medical bills.
I didn't mind Until Midnight, it just didn't hit as much as I wanted it to. The connection between Carina and Ryan and undeniable, but it felt as though something was missing. There was a lot of repetition throughout which was quite annoying, like word for word repeating. For that reason, it got 3 stars and I won't be reading the remainder of the series. I just wasn't hooked enough.
As usual, Miss Liliana has begun weaving a magical tale of love. Love so deep and intense that she is asked to make a great sacrifice at the end! Can she do it? Will she do it? Time alone will tell.
Tiene un error grave, en un momento dice que tienen que mudar a la abuela a otro establecimiento y lo hacen. Después dice que pasaron días y que la abuela sigue en el mismo hospital y que la tienen que llevar al otro establecimiento.
Stuff Your Ereader Find! There wasn't much to this leg of the story, but it's the typical she's poor and has her only family member in the hospital. Then gets offered a sweet deal of either help her only family member left or stick to her morals and protect her heart. With only a dash of a spice.
Until Midnight (How to Break a Billionaire's Heart Book #1) by Liliana Rhodes... Cinderella retelling. Billionaire Romance. Angst. Emotion. Heartache. Agendas. Tension. Chemistry. Steam. Not A standalone... must be read in series sequence. Full review to come.
This was a free book from Stuff Your Kindle Day. It’s an interesting premise for these three novella’s - a modern day retelling of Cinderella. Easy enough to get through this first book. I’m not invested enough in either character to continue on.
This was a cute story but feel it was too short. I don't believe it felt finished. I know its told in 3 parts but still didn't feel as if it was a cliffhanger but just kind of ended. Even with that thought, I am invested in the series enough to read the rest of the books.
Short read of 63 pages. Modern day twist on Cinderella. It definitely did the story justice. Kept me wanting more and entertained. Ends on a cliffhanger.
