Chasing Hartes

One night, with no names and no strings attached, changed everything.

Romance was far from single mom Millie Harte's mind, but a trip to celebrate her birthday ignited more than her heart.

There was just one catch: Millie was never supposed to find her one-night stand again, especially not in her hometown.

Professional baseball player Jake Parsons' trade to the Toronto Twisters was as unexpected as his meddling friends introducing him to the mystery woman he had spent the night with months ago, but meeting her again was just the beginning.

The chase for Millie's heart is on, and Jake is playing for keeps, but his fame, past, and Millie's ex could destroy their chances.

Is it worth the risk?

After all, there is more than just one Harte on the line.

I'm a Canadian romance author who writes stories with K.I.S.S in mind -keeping it sassy & steamy!

I'm an avid snacker and I can drink coffee like a Gilmore Girl, which I need to chase around my wild and crazy kids, and our spoiled pets. When I'm not busy with the kiddos, I'm watching reality TV with the hubs or glued to a smutty book. Research, of course ;)

It's been a few days since I finished this book, and I've been unable to get these characters out of my head. This was such a beautiful, yet heartbreaking debut. As someone who grew up with one of the most amazing bonus-dads(stepdad), this story spoke right to my heart.

Both Millie and Jake are flawed characters. One moment you are rooting for them, and the next, you feel like wringing their necks. Millie shows us the struggles of being a single mom, and the insecurities that come with being in an abusive and toxic relationship. The level of psychological brainwashing Millie had to endure from her ex was enough to have me spitting fire, and yet, throughout this book I was begging her to just let Jake in despite of her past experiences. Jake is a fantastic guy. The way he treats Millie and her daughter Aubree, gave me butterflies. The way he fought for her every time she bolted, had me near tears.

Lisa and Mitch, gosh I loved these two. They are unapologetic matchmakers, and if there is one book I'll read, it will be the one that tells their story. Nick and Misha are assholes, and they deserve the misery they bring into eachothers lives.

This book focusses heavily on plot, but it's perfectly balanced out by character development in the later stages of the book. This is not a smutty read, but steamy with some spicy scenes.

Chasing Hartes is a definite recommendation for those who enjoy romance books with heavier themes. It is available on all platforms.

Firstly congratulations to Madyn on her debut novel Chasing Hartes.

Do you find your soulmate on a one night stand? Well this love story of Millie and Jake takes you on an emotional roller coaster as their relationship unfolds. Through the tears and laughter while the both discover each other’s past and as they both come to terms with it. I adored their friendship groups and the love and support they offered them plus Aubree was adorable.

I would highly recommend this novel.

Dual POV & HEA

Single mom Millie and MLB first basemen Jake meet and enjoy a nameless one night stand on a cruise ship. Five months later, they meet again at a summer festival. Can their complicated lives allow them to be together? You betcha, but not without its hurdles.

Millie and Jake were a cute couple. He is such a cinnamon roll for her and she has to accept that even moms deserve love from hot men too. Every page I just wanted to scream for her to let him in and accept his love. When she did I was so happy for her character that she was finally getting the man of her dreams. Jake was a great boyfriend to her and was always there to show her her worth. I loved his relationship with Millie's daughter, Aubree, too. He was the perfect man for both of them!

The supporting characters were so fun. Millie’s girlfriends and brothers were always there to back her up and always had something funny to say. Jake's friends as well though you don't see them as much.

This is technically a baseball and billionaire romance but other than the travels for work, I don't feel like they really had much to do with the story. I was confused at points when the MCs would talk about his private jet, which would not make sense for an MLB player to have, but once his family story was revealed it all made sense. I personally would have preferred for the plot to spend less time on Millie's relationship and drama with her ex and more on the couple navigating his family and their relationship, it had much more interesting potential than a shitty baby daddy.

Chasing Hartes is not a spicy book. There are for sure some steamy moments and a few spice scenes, but overall the book is pretty tame in that regard. It is a heavily plot driven story and not a smut driven story. Which is great, and totally refreshing sometimes, but it is something to keep in mind before reading.

There were absolutely points in the book where the plot got redundant and felt like it was dragging. This mixed with how much of the plot only focused on Millie being a single mom instead of her and Jake building their relationship, I had to give it four stars instead of five.

Thank you Madyn and BookSirens for the opportunity to read Chasing Hartes. All opinions and reviews are my own.

𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: small town, single mom, billionaire, sport romance, he falls first, one night stand

𝗧𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗴𝗲𝗿𝘀: emotional abuse & manipulation, physical violence

This book is so good, you really have to read it!!

Millie and Jack's story is a very emotional one, with many ups and downs, with nasty situations that always came in their way, but in the end their love won.

Millie is a single mother after her ex left her ex-best friend pregnant while she was pregnant herself. Many years after that moment, Millie is still controlled by her ex's words, thus unable to live her life to the fullest. All this, changes when, on her birthday, on the cruise where she was with her friends, she spends a one night stand with Jack and fate brings them back together later.

She wants to have a relationship with him, but the drama in her ex makes her stay away here for Jack. But how will Jack's presence in her life change the current situation?

Jack is a baseball player who falls madly for Millie since the first night together. When he finally finds her, he wants to spend as much time as possible with her, and with her daughter who conquers him from the first. He is the perfect man for them. He is there for Millie and helps her fight her ex when things get complicated.

Although I would have liked to focus more on Jack's character and backstory, and for Millie to meet his family, the author did an excellent job overall.

It's not really a spicy book, because it puts a lot of emphasis on the plot, but there are some steamy scenes.

Thank you Madyn Rose for the opportunity to read this amazing book in exchange for an honest review.

Chasing Hartes by Madyn Rose was a beautiful sports romance about a single mother and a baseball player. The writing style was easy to follow and once I started this book, it only took me two days to finish. I really enjoyed the character of Millie and was rooting for her to find happiness. The male love interest, Jack, was very sweet and I was a big fan of his. Their relationship seemed genuine, however, I was a bit frustrated throughout the book with how many ups and downs their relationship seemed to have. It was realistic enough though with the trauma that Millie went through with her ex-boyfriend.

This book was truly a great sports romance, and that is coming from someone who is a big sports romance fan. I never really knew what was going to happen next and the relationship between Jack and Millie’s daughter, Aubree, was really cute. I definitely would recommend this book to any sports romance lovers.

First, congratulations to Madyn on this beautiful debut!

These characters were definitely put through the ringer but it was a great reminder that the right person is always worth fighting for.

My heart felt for Millie who was struggling to learn how to lean on someone else and let love into her life. All while having to deal with a manipulative ex causing drama!

Jake was wonderful, flawed for sure at times, but overall a good guy. What I really admired is that once he made up his mind that this was the girl for him, he hardcore pursued her and didn't give up. I was definitely rooting for him!

I did have an issue connecting with the authors "voice" throughout the story but the plot kept me going.
Overall I did enjoy it and would recommend

Having been raised by a single mom, this story really resonated with me because I always wanted my mom to find an amazing man who would sweep her off her feet.

Chasing Hartes gives us that sense of a fairy tale but doesn't loose a connection to reality. Millie is a sympathetic character, who is understandably afraid of a second chance at love after being burned by her ex-boyfriend and ex-bestie. As the story develops, and we learn more about Millie's past, you empathize with her reluctance even more.

The chemistry between her and Jake is fun, steamy, and pulls us right into their complicated relationship. I also loved the connection between Jake and Millie's daughter, Aubree.

Rose does a wonderful job showing us the challenges both Millie and Jake must overcome to establish their relationship. This sweet, steamy romance is an enjoyable read and has a satisfying resolution. I look forward to more from Madyn Rose!

Sweet story about second chance love after a really bad relationship. Millie is a single mom who works in construction. She’s just taking care of her little daughter Aubree. Millie’s friends takes her on a cruise for her birthday where she meets Jake. Jake saves her from getting hit during a fight. These two instantly hit it off with one another. As time goes by they begin to hang out together more and more. In the midst of their new romance Aubree’s father Nick comes in and does his best to destroy their relationship. I loved the fact that Jake didn’t allow Millie to give up on them. He came in and was like a healing balm to all of Millie’s pain. He absolutely loved Aubree as well. She was just so cute. I loved the fact that Millie’s brothers Avery and Alex were there for her as well. This was a very sweet romance.

Listen, but listen closely.
☆ Single mom
☆ Small town
☆ Sportie MMC
☆ One night stand
— can you say NO to that? Because I can't.

I loved this story. It sat with me really well especially after dark reads I went through. This one is cute, steamy, there IS spice but steam is overpowering it.

Jake is a character that you would like to strangle but in the next moment hug. Not to spoil anything but there are those cute moments like the flowers part but then there is that "I left because I forgot my clothes" part. As I said I want to choke him but then I want to hug him. But then at the end he is such a cutie and softie for "his girls" that you can't not to melt.
And Millie, a single mom who always puts her daughter first. I think Nick f**ked her up pretty bad, mentally, I mean it's not I think it is infact that he did. But that's why we have Jake there.

Anyways as I said this is great read if you like tropes above.

Chasing Hartes was such a great story, and I had the best time reading this book. Millie is a single mom to the sweetest little girl named Aubree. She works in construction, along with raising her little girl. Millie's friends take her on a cruise for her birthday, and that's when she meets Jake. Jake steps in and protects her during a fight, and they instantly hit it off. They spend time together, and Jake is the best thing to happen to Millie. He's fixing a heart that he didn't break, along with loving a little girl that he didn't make. But leave it to Millie's ex Nick to try and ruin everything. I did love how Jake refused to let that happen, and honestly, I was cheering so hard for Jake and Millie as a couple. This story read very well, and I was surprised to learn that it was a debut. Well done.

This story is about a single mom, Millie, who lives for her daughter Aubree.
Her ex, Nick, is a total scumbag - who wants to be in Aubree's life, but mostly just with his new family.

Millie has some outstanding friends who make sure that she gets some girl time.
They are on a cruise and Millie finally lets loose and has a one-night stand with a stranger.
She can't stop thinking about him and one day - they meet again.
Jack also wants Millie, and he fights for her and Aubree.

I can definitely recommend that you read this book. It is sweet and I believe that a lot of single parents can relate to Millie's situation with a new guy while struggling with the ex.

So this is the first time I’m reading a book by this author, and it was really freaking great book. I stay up all night to finish reading it.

But I do have some things that I feel like need to be said about this book I feel like Millie was really insecure about herself in any relationship she got into and I feel like jack and Millie was a really great couple. But I feel like that they’re back-and-forth made a book way longer than it should have been. But Other than that really enjoyed reading. something different.

What an awesome sports romance. I loved Jake and Millie's story, and Aubrey was adorable. Nick and Misha were horrible, but I am glad Millie stood up to them finally. Millie is such a good mom. Mitch, Lisa, Gia, and Sam were awesome characters that stood by Millie and Jake through and through! They are real friends that will stop at nothing to ensure Millie and Jake find their HEA.. Loved this book it made my heart melt!!!

I loved this book so much. It shows the struggles and insecurities of a single mom trying to find love after being in a toxic and abusive relationship. I love the relationship between Millie and Jake and how much Jake adores Aubree. Without spoiling too much, I was so excited that they got their happy ending. I would give this book a 10/10 and would recommend to anyone looking for a cute love story. The groveling in the book was perfect too!

I found my next favorite read in Madyn Rose's debut romance novel CHASING HARTES! She hit this one out of the park, creating a beautiful romance full of twists, friendship and family, and the ultimate happily ever after. Madyn delivers on the tropes with chemistry between her characters that keeps readers glued to the page for just one more chapter. This amazing debut is packed with everything a romance reader craves!

Great story, but the writing needs some help

I loved this story. There were several sub-plots that kept me guessing. However, the writing itself is kind of bad. A lot of it is just poor editing, but as I was reading it was often clear this was a new author. I didn’t want to discourage the author by rating three stars, and I really liked the plot and the characters, so I gave it four.

Another baseball romance for me! I’m giving this one 3.5 stars bumped up to 4 stars. First, baseball. Second, Jake is persistent and adorable. Millie is relationship shy with good reason. Can Jake wear her down? Of course, he can! But reading how he does it is fun!

For a debut novel, this one is a home run. As you get to the end of the novel the editing mistakes increase. It is slightly annoying, but not a game-changer.

I loved everything about this book! Once I started it, I couldn't put it down. Jake simply refuses to give up going after Millie and I enjoyed every single second of it. Such a steamy, swoony romance. So many problems to overcome, yet Jake and Millie fight hard to get to their happy ending. I sure hope Madyn Rose continues to write romances - this one was great!!

Chasing Hartes is the story of a single mother learning to stand up for herself, to heal and move on from her cruel Ex and judgemental small town.

Showing her daughter how to be brave and take what you want and only accepting the love and life you truly deserve.

Millie and Jake have a serendipitous meet cute on a cruise ship with a steamy one night stand that, thanks to some match making friends, turns into their happily ever after. Millie's daughter Aubree is gorgeous and proof that somethbng beautiful can grow from something toxic. Jake absolutely MELTS me.
Millie and Jake aren't perfect and neither was their relationship but it felt real and it made for a beautiful story 💖
