I'm a Florida girl, born and raised. I live in a small town in central Florida with my hubby, my son, and our dog, Zoey. When I'm not writing (or reading a good book), I'm spending time with family.

The story follows Jace who is a cop and a rising tiktok star with Maddie being a fan of him.

With Maddie's lack of dating and knowing about her crush on Jace, her family tried to intervene and tried to setup with Jace during online dating through tiktok.Thinking, he must have already gotten thousands of applications so he won't even pay attention to her video but the next minute she found him in her dms.

Honestly, even though it was a short kinda cute love/heartbreak story I didn't like it due to various reasons. The base of story might be good but the story in itself wasn't. It wasn't short story but it wasn't long either. The author didn't focus on parts where she should have to be honest, the story lack the moments about them which should have been there to show their chemistry.

Jace character was too weird. one minute he did wrong and the second he realises.I would have prefer if the author had worked on it to show more in detail about how he's falling in love, how he's realising his mistake. But I guess that's how she wanted to potray his character since the ending was somehow justified due to this..

Even though I didn't liked the ending but I guess it was the best to have that. It took her long but she realised Jace isn't going to fight for her.

One thing that this book tell us is that No matter how compatible and smooth you are with each other, both the partners should put their efforts in working this relationship out..

Overall this story was on/off for me. I liked some parts I disliked some. Even though it was for good but I would've prefer if the author has shown something about Jace realising his mistakes, about where did he went wrong. The main issue with this book was lack of character's development.

One year ago, Maddie’s Fiancé decided he no longer wanted to get married. This forced her to reflect on the changes in her life, and the things she wants in a relationship. After a family reunion, she is surprised when she finds her brother has posted a video asking Jace Ryan to give her a chance; and he responded.

Full time Police Officer and social media influencer, Jace has had a hard time finding a meaningful relationship. After many failed dates, he wants to try something different. Joining the latest Tiktok trend, he broadens his options with the girlfriend application.

The story is told from both Maddie’s and Jace’s point of view. There is potential here, however it could use some editing, and restructuring. Several points in the book felt forced and rushed, while others didn’t offer enough detail. As a reader, I found it hard to really fall in love with the characters. On a high note, I will say there were a few points that had me cheering for Jace. All in all, it was a decent read.

Love Can Be Challenging

This is a story about a young police officer and Tik Tok star named Jace, who decides that it is time to settle down, but his dating style has not been working for him. He uses Tik Tok to put out a Girlfriend Application and receives thousands of replies. One in particular caught his attention ... it was submitted by a guy who was looking to find someone for his sister, Maddie, and described her in glowing detail.

She was not like the girls he normally dated as far as appearance, but sounded great, so Jace thought he would give her a chance. They go through the entire spectrum of relationship stages and breakups before the story ends, so come along for the ride.

This was a quick read, with great story line and characters. However, I could not give it 5 stars because of the apparent lack of proofreading. Missing words and incorrect gender pronouns took away from an otherwise enjoyable read.

I really enjoyed the premise of this book. It was well thought out and a really good length. I did feel that sometimes Jace and Maddie didn’t act their age, in regards to how they communicated with each other. It felt like all of the characters should have been aged in their early twenties rather than their thirties, but I still loved the chemistry between them and the spice was very good!

Overall I really enjoyed the book and felt very connected to the characters. I am surprised at the ending, but I quite liked it!

Wow, this book did not go the way I was expecting. It was all about lessons and as much as I love a good lesson I also read books to be happy when they are done. I was not happy with the way this book ended. It was ok, but the story line seemed forced. If you are looking for spice this is not the book for you. If you are looking for dating type drama I would recommend this book.

Maddie is ready to get back out there. Dating world here she comes. Unfortunately, the only person that she is remotely interested is a cop from Alabama. She has a serious crush but knows it can’t go anywhere, right? Jace Kyle is ready to settle down. He has followers so why not tap into those followers to find a girlfriend. He jumps on the girlfriend application train. It was received well and Jace found he had a problem weeding through all of the applicants. One girl stood out because her brother is the one that posted about her. Maddie was not Jace’s type but there was something about her.

This book takes on the journey of Jace and Maddie. Both have some growing up to do and need to find out who they are. After hanging out with Maddie for Mardi Gras, Jace decided the physical attraction wasn’t there and friend zoned her after what had been a great weekend until then. He found that he missed talking to her and wanted them to remain friends. Maddie taking a stand put her foot down on that idea. What ensues is a lot of back and forth. Their relationship status changed several times. One thing was certain, Jace was selfish and Maddie was not budging. Maddie refused to give up her life for another man.

This is book ended surprisingly. I really enjoyed the story and will be reading more from this author.

the Girlfriend application

Writing was clunky and simplistic. Misspelled words, no flow and the characters one dimensional. I did wonder if was written by AI.

Don't waste your time.

This book is very poorly written. There are sections where you have no idea which of the characters is speaking. In other sections, you know who is speaking but aren't sure whether part of the conversation is with themselves or someone else. I did find two small sections that made me laugh out loud, though. In the first, Jade, the man in the romance, is wondering whether or not "floor play" is appropriate. Three pages later, Maddie, his girlfriend, is told by her work mom, Ellen, that she won't have to deal with "pany annie" (instead of the correct term "penny ante") stuff if she gets the promotion for which Ellen has recommended her.

This is a story with shallowly drawn characters with no real resolution to their relationship. I won't be wasting my time on another of Ms. O'Neal's books.
