Hello Darling

Rate this book
Millions of women all over the world would drop their knickers for British movie star Evan Hunter. Now he’s falling for the one American woman who won’t…Yet.
Everyone on Main Street has been talking about Evan Hunter, the British movie star who’ll be filming on location in our small Pacific Northwest town for a couple of months, and all I have to say about that “Who?”
When he shows up two weeks early to escape the London paparazzi after breaking up with some starlet, all I want to know “So?”
When he walks into the gym that I manage for my dad and brothers, to start training for the action scenes in his movie, I’ll admit I do say to “Hmmm…”
But he’s not my type. I’ll take a fireman or a lumberjack over a pretty actor any day—I don’t care how blue his eyes are, how chiseled his features or how crackling our chemistry has been from the first “hello.”
Okay, so it turns out Mr. Charming and Sophisticated isn’t quite the polite English gentleman when we’re alone together in private. He may, in fact, be a filthy-mouthed sex god. He may, impossibly, have his sights set on me.
Obviously, there’s only one way for me to prove to him that I’m immune to this British actor nonsense. I’m going to prove it to him so hard.
But I have rules for flings with out-of-towners and I will continue to enforce them, even with ridiculously beautiful international film stars. Even though he gets along so well with my family. Even though we somehow seem to understand each other in ways that no one else ever could. Even if he makes me wonder what it’s like out there in the world outside of this coastal paradise I’ve always called home.
I’m staying right where I am, no matter where he claims to want to take me with him when he leaves. Every time he says “Hello Darling,” all I hear “goodbye heart.”

Amazon Top 25 and USA Today bestselling author Kayley Loring spent many years as a screenwriter (under a different name) in Los Angeles before moving to the Pacific Northwest to live out her childhood dream of being a Disney heroine who talks and sings to woodland creatures. When not trying to keep animals alive, she’s writing steamy romantic comedy novels, obviously. She’s breathing cleaner air, writing dirtier words, and staring at her computer screen until her eyeballs dry out instead of prancing around Southern California in miniskirts and going to the hair salon. Still waiting for the woodland creatures to clean her house, though.

Read or listen to Kayley’s books when you want humor, heat, and heart. You’ll enjoy top-notch banter, strong heroines, lovable characters you’d want to know in real life and you’ll swoon over perfectly imperfect book boyfriends. All Kayley Loring books are steamy open door romance. Be sure to check out her next-level audiobooks!

"One day, hopefully, she’ll realize that when I say 'hello, darling' I mean so much more than that."
I'm making my way through Kayley Loring's backlog and this seemed like a fun one when I was feeling down after having surgery. It was. Among other things, it was also annoyingly sweet, unbelievably cute, fucking steamy, and remarkably emotional, and had me crying a couple of times.
Why do you do this to me, Kayley? Wait, do I do this to myself? I guess so. It's OK, then.

"His voice is so sexy, I should probably wear some form of birth control on my ears."
There were many quotes to choose from when it comes to Evan Hunter, but I chose this one because accents... Yeah, they get to me. So yeah, I totally understand this quote.
Evan was pretty much incredible. OK, he's a famous British actor and he's used to the fame and spotlight, but underneath it all (and apart from his Jiminy-Cricket conscience sounding a lot like Hugh Grant apparently) is a man who doesn't know what he needs in life and who doesn't get the 'falling in love' and 'partnership' that comes with it. Until he meets Stella.

"And now here she is, serving up a large helping of great American sass with a side of small-town charm and a stunning naked face that I find it difficult to tear my eyes away from."
Again, Kayley's heroines are always perfect to me. The sass and snark of Stella were absolutely amazing. She's just so real! She manages the family gym and teaches yoga in Smalltown, Washington, and she's happy with her life. Hmm, did I say happy? Maybe 'content' would be a better word. Or maybe I could say she's settled into the life she has. Because she doesn't think she can aim for bigger and better.

"I’m sorry to get you out of bed so early. It’s quite the opposite of what I want."
Evan is in Stella's small town shooting a movie, and from the get-go... The. Banter. Between. Them, OMG! People, I live for the banter in Kayley's books, and this was made even better because Evan is so good at flirting it's just not fair. And Stella could just let it slide, but she gives as good as she gets, and quite effectively at that. She's not one of those to fall at some star's feet, and she's going to show him just that.
He's going to have a really hard time getting to her, but he's also not backing down. I love how stubborn they both are!

"I’m sure you can find something better to do. Or someone better to do."
"Are you? Because I’m sure I haven’t. And I’m quite sure I won’t."

They decide to have a fling. You know, a no-strings-attached-fling-while-you're-filming-your-movie-in-my-town thing. They shouldn't work at all, let alone work well. However, their chemistry? It's off the charts! Both in and out of bed, these two are FIRE! I think the sex scenes in this book were the hottest I've read by Kayley, and Evan is right up there as one of her hottest heroes.

I need to mention the pop culture references because they meant a lot to me. Not just the British actors I love, and Colin Farrell in his early career (the whole bad boy act was hot and I may have watched his movies more times than I should have!) but Butch Cassidy and the Sundance kid, one of my favorite movies. Tender Is The Night and The Great Gatsby, two of my favorite novels.
This, and all the laughing-out-loud and swoony moments, made this book another special one for me.

"I love you so much. I love the whole world more because you’re in it."
They got through some stuff, but nothing could really keep these two apart, however opposites they seem to be. I hated Stella for a little bit, but I couldn't stay mad at her because she's effing awesome.

In the end, your home is wherever the person you are is, and for the right person you'll do just about anything. And it'll all be worth it.

Kayley Loring is a new author for me. I have a mix reviews of her works. So far I like her Brooklyn Boyfriend series. Her other books... just mediocre. Even the joke, the flirty banter can not push my rating to more than 3 stars.

Hello Darling has a mediocre romance story. A Hollywood star has a fling with a local girl. And that it is. There is no more depth or complexity of the story at all. I got bored in the middle of the story. I even skip it a bit. The chemistry is off between Stella and Evan. Even Hugh Grant joke can not help making the story alive.

I listen to the audio book. I appreciate the male narrator has British accent. I do love British accent. Overall I do enjoy this book OK. I do not love it but I do not hate it. Even I do admit I got bored in the middle of the book.

My favorite kind of love story

I just discovered this author and have been bingeing everything she’s written. Haven’t been disappointed yet. The right amount of angst. Very romantic and loving. Characters you can easily love. Soooo enjoyable.

Hello Darling 🥰 swoooooon.
I’m a Brit who really approves of this Brit 🙂

Evan Evan Evan what a man! I love that he didn’t push her and that when he felt like she wasn’t putting everything into he told her exactly how he felt and what he wanted! I was devastated for him tho when she left 😔

That ending tho and the way they announced it 👌🏼

Sweet and sexy, Evan is definitely a positive example of a male romance novel lead.

His character is a well-known actor, directly influenced by the public perception of Cumberbatch and Hiddlestone, he even has a following of fans named the Hunterhoes. Despite his fame, he's a very down to earth person, and thoroughly charming. One thing that sets him aside from many other male romance leads, is the fact that he's not a womanizer who finally settles down. His background shows that he is a serial monogamist, and it adds to his charm. It shows the readers, if not Stella that he is immediately all in.

Stella is an adorable female lead, close to her family, working hard in a small town where she knows everyone, and owns a cat named "Muffin Top". Again, one of my favourite parts about her is that she is neither a virginal nor abstinent female lead. It takes away some of that sexual awkwardness and lets the juicy parts be juicy from the get-go.

It's a lovely twist on the usual tropes, and it's written in very more-ish prose. I thoroughly recommend it to anyone who wants to wind down with something easy and rewarding.

Evan Hunter is officially on my ever-growing list of Kayley Book Boyfriends. Yes, it’s a thing. How can you not fall instantly in love with a sexy British movie star?! Seriously, this guy will be making you swoon. Plus, Shane East doing the narration on this audiobook? It is PURE MAGIC! You can thank me later.

Stella, well I just love her. I want to be her best friend. She’s a small town girl, she managers her family’s gym. She is just real and relatable as a character. I love that she doesn’t just instantly lose it and start fan girling Evan, too. Mackenzie Cartwright does an amazing job at bringing this character to life.

I love how opposite Evan and Stella are yet they have some INSANE amounts of chemistry. Both Shane and Mackenzie do a great job with bringing the chemistry and the banter of these characters to life.

Kayley’s romcoms are some of my favorites. Though, I don’t recommend listening to the audiobook while you are grocery shopping. Everyone will be giving you some strange looks because you’ll be laughing out loud!

Hello Darling is a MUST LISTEN! If you’re looking for a fun summer listen definitely check this one out!

Entertaining!

This was a book I wasn’t so sure about when I started reading it then was unable to put it down. HELLO DARLING is spicy, romantic and even a little beyond the usual “celebrity comes to town and falls in love” story.

Evan is dashing, suave, and debonair with the right amount of naughty. Stella is loyal, cautious, and sassy with a good dollop of vixen. Good book!

Let me just say right off the bat, this book is not getting the readership it deserves.

I enjoyed the insight into what the life of a celebrity can be like. We think we can imagine it, but there's more here that I never thought of. Some reviewers think this story isn't realistic enough about celebrity relationships, but there's plenty of long lasting celebrity relationships, and I'm gonna go out on a limb and say that they're based on trust and commitment. Anyway if I wanted that much realism I wouldn't be reading a romance novel, so don't burst my fantasy bubble you guys.

This is the kind of story that you may sorta like at first, then it grows on you and finally you're hit with a huge payoff at the end. It could have gone Hallmarky, it had that basic formula, but it was so much better than that. Things that I thought were predictable didn't pan out, and other things that normally go one way didn't go that way at all. There was even some angst that had me on the edge of my seat wondering if what was planned was actually going to happen.

Stella, our heroine, has a lot of baggage—guilt and unsaid goodbyes and self-imposed obligations. Evan, a famous British actor, comes to town on location and the entire first half of the story is loaded with snarky banter and sexual innuendo between these two until they finally get together. It's supposed to be just a fling, but they have lessons that they teach each other.

The really interesting part of the story comes when they realize this is more than a fling. Then it becomes a story about communication and compromise. Evan and Stella have different experiences and points of view about family and relationships—EXTREMELY different—and Stella's inability to make the leap into an unconventional relationship is where the conflict comes in. The bottom line is—What is each of them willing to do for love?

This story gets really complicated really quick and it's hard for me to boil it down in a couple of paragraphs. When I think back on how much was in this 258 page book it amazes me. Other writers would have taken many more pages to say the same things. It's a real journey. But let me just say that you could read this story on two different levels depending on what you want. You could choose it as an entertaining romance, or you could choose it as an interesting relationship story with layers and layers of complex issues to explore. Either way I think you'll like it if you're a romance junky like I am.

5.0 out of 5 starsBritish chick-lit story of love at first (online) sight

The other working title of my review is "Swooning and I don't know how I'm going to go to work!"

sigh! This book is fab. I'm gobsmacked!

If you like chick-lilt with sizzle, movie stars meet the beautiful-inside-and-out-girl-next-door books, this one is for you

WARNING! If you download this book, cancel your plans for the next few hours!

I'm bursting with love for this book and I'm writing this review before work...not sure how I'm going to make it through the day! This is immediately on my "re-read" shelf and I've read the ending about 3 times this morning.

love, Love, LOVE Evan Hunter. He's the guy next door who shows a gentlemanly side to the world and saves a saucy side for Stella. He happens to be a world famous actor who is immediately intrigued by our girl Stella when he sees her photo on the website of her family's gym. Stella is someone that the whole town is a bit in love with...her brothers are protective, father is enamored and the townspeople are in super "like" of her.

Stella and Evan have a fabulous time secretly dating while he's in town shooting a movie. Evan has a long game in mind, but Stella's trying to keep her heart safe knowing that there is a shelf life on this romance...or is there?

This is my first book by this author and it won't be the last! I desperately have to get out the door and to work, but as soon as I'm home, I'm going to check out her other books.

Well, this book was a treat.

Don't a lot of us want to think that somewhere, there's someone who sees us and just knows we are who they've been searching for, even before they knew they were searching?

I love Head Hugh in this book, what an absolute riot. I loved Evan and how sure he was about Stella. I loved Stella's family and how intrusive they weren't, and how supportive and loving they were. I loved how the family argument at Thanksgiving was like a sparkler at 4th of July - burned bright for just a moment and then it was over, and everything was resolved. I loved the few days Evan and Stella got at the Hotel in Nice, and although I did not love how that chapter ended, I did love the note she left and how it simply spurred him on to figure out how to Make It Work.

This was a sweet story - which isn't a trope but it should be. Not too sweet, not too much angst, a perfect balance without a lot of 3rd act drama, and a swoon-worthy HEA.

Cant stopping reading it!

I swear this is soooo cute, funny and good as a movie! Can be a Sandra Bullock feel good romantic comedy movie! Hmmm potential Brit partner, Henry Cavill, Tom Hiddelston, James McAvoy (whoever Hollywood!). Superlike the fact that its like Notting Hills except the famous one is the guy! I'm swooning on the line "I'd do anything for this woman except say goodbye".

Fabulous Story & Narration🎧 An Enjoyable Delight!
Hello Darling
By: Kayley Loring
Narrated by: Shane East, Mackenzie Cartwright

This book is such a wonderful delight, it is enjoyable and entertaining, most of all it is the type of book you can not put down or stop listening too. And there is Shane East saying “Hello Darling”—> oh yes, Swoon-Worthy with a capital “S”. Kayley Loring is a gifted author and that gift shines more that ever in this book with the clever and witty dialogue and the fabulous storylines. The characters are realistic, easy to relate and connect with. I adored both lead characters, Evan Hunter, British movie star extraordinaire and Stella Starkey, manager of family owned gym, yoga instructor and lover of small town living. There were great secondary and support cast of characters too. Evan is set to film on location in Port Gladstone, he will be staying awhile so he joined the local gym, which he found while researching online. Stella’s raw beauty caught his attention right from the start and after meeting her in person he wanted to know her even more. Evan is not Stella’s type but she finds herself drawn to him, she even convinces herself to have a fling with him for the time he was staying in town. I thought those two were great together, the chemistry between them is off the charts. But has some issues, can she get past them to find the happiness she deserves. Evan is a complete sweetheart, fame did not get to his head, he remained grounded with a good head on his shoulders and best of all he knows what he wants. but how much pushing away can he take? I loved how everything plays out in this book, the story is beautifully plotted and has a natural flow to it. There is never a dull moment with plenty drama, very low angst, great humor, lots of heartfelt and emotional moments and some hot romance. This romcom is a great pick me up and will put a smile on anyone’s face and keep it there for the entire book. Kayley Loring, thank you for this wonderful story.

I listened to the Audible edition, Shane East and Mackenzie Cartwright were perfectly casted to bring this story and it’s characters to life. They did a great job portraying the characters, humanizing them, giving each their own voice and personality. You could hear how much heart they put into their work as they project their characters emotions into their performance. They both handled the witty dialogue with ease, landing the humor with out missing a beat. They are entertaining storytellers and a pleasure to listen to. Thank you for another awesome listen.

Thank you 🎧@AudiobookObsession #AudiobookObsession #AudiobookObsessionReviewer🎧

I absolutely loved this hilarious, sweet and steamy romance! Loring has once again written a story that guarantees that I will fall in love with her characters and her signature laugh-out-loud comedic style she has sprinkled throughout this book! This is an absolutely delightful story about a small town girl and her unlikely romance with a sexy British movie star. When Evan Hunter comes to Stella Starky's charming little town to shoot some movie scenes, she couldn't care less. He joins her gym and her conditions are that he is himself, not his public persona. That is her undoing, he not only charms her family but he also charms her and she can't help but fall for the sweet, dirty talking Brit. Evan likes that Stella is real and honest with him, and prefers who he really is. They soon give in to their fiery attraction, agreeing to have a short term, no strings affair. They are opposites in every way but their chemistry is explosive! But rules are meant to be broken when their hearts get involved. When Evan needs to travel for work, will he be able to convince Stella to leave her beloved small town and travel the world with him? There is so much to love about this story, from the quick wit and banter, to the lovable quirky characters, to the sizzling passion, and every hilarious, heartwarming moment in between. Oh and how great is the name Stella Starky?! It flowed so well off Evan's lips, along with 'Hello Darling', I absolutely loved it!
Shane East, and Mackenzie Cartwright were so perfectly cast to narrate this hilarious and heartwarming romance. They nailed the chemistry between Evan and Stella, and their ability to deliver Loring's witty dialogue along with imparting the genuine emotion of all characters was exquisite. Both narrators have a wonderful range of voices and expressions that I love to get lost in and make this story pure pleasure!

Hello Darling
By: Kayley Loring
Narrated by: Shane East, Mackenzie Cartwright

In the mood for a good love story? How about a book about a famous British actor? If you love swoony, romantic leads, you are going to love Evan Hunter. A famous public figure, he is enamored with Stella. She is a hard working woman with a cat she adores, and after a few encounters is taken in by the charms of Evan. Keeping things light is the name of the game, quiet, out of the public eye and casual, this couple is enjoying each other. But can they continue on that way? Will they be seen by the paparazzi? Will feelings get in the way? And a bicoastal relationship is impossible, right? Kayley Loring keeps me so engaged when I am listening to her stories. Her characters become good friends of mine, and Evan and Stella were the best! Great banter, incredible chemistry and a little bit of angst make this couple one of my favorites. Evan is wonderful. Romantic, good reputation, monogamous and very up front, he is the man we all drool over on screen. Stella is all of us. Loves being with him, but will find every excuse not to invest that last bit of her heart. Loring melds these two together, with laughter, passion and love. It's a fantastic story, one you do not want to miss.

Loring chose her narrators so perfectly, it was like she wrote the characters with these voices in mind. Shane East is Evan Hunter. His voice is smooth, and romantic, an incredible fit for his personality and had me falling in the first chapter. Stella needed a little coaxing, and her hesitation, and affection comes through with Mackenzie Cartwright's voice. These two give an incredible performance and kept me completely entertained.

Stella Starkey has lived her whole live in Port Gladstone, where she manages the family-owned gym and teaches yoga. She is pretty much content living there.

She doesn't do flings with out-of-towners, so when pretty boy British movie star Evan Hunter waltzes into her gym to train for his new movie being shot in the town she goes "hmmm' but she has no interest in the man whatsoever. Right?

Pretty boy Evan is more a Henry Cavill/Hugh Grant hybrid than the Jason Momoa lumberjack types that appeal to Stella, but he is going to dial his charm up to 11 if it means catching Stella's eye...and her heart.

I absolutely loved loved loved this book! Evan is a movie star but a very level-headed one and he's so in need of something "real "in life and you can't get more real than no-nonsense Stella. I love their banter and how besotted he is with her. I wanted to knock her over the head with a frying pan and say "he loves you, girl!!!!" a few times, but well, it's a romance novel and we need a little conflict. I also loved how the "conflict" was not someone else thrown in or something bad one does to the other. They just needed to recalibrate things and finally get their HEA. Loved it!

Added bonus: how can you not fall in love with a guy whose inner monologues are in Hugh Grant's voice???

And I want to change my ringtone to HELLO DARLING.

Narration: Mackenzie Cartwright is a goddess and can't do no wrong and (even though I think he has narrated EVERY.SINGLE. BRITISH.CHARACTER in romance - well, Jacob Morgan does it too - ) Shane East is always a joy to listen to. His voice is like warm honey and British accents are swoony.

Audio Book Feedback: I NEED to listen to the audio book. I can see so much potential. Will update my review when I do.

Another fun, low key story from Kayley Loring. Just the right amount of heat and humor. I did find myself in love in Evan, and a bit frustrated with Stella.

There are some really great romantic scenes, and real chemistry on page for Evan and Stella. I did have a moment where my heart stopped, where I felt that there was a scene missing. I flipped back and forth several times, my heart pounding with betrayal, when I couldn't find 'the scene'. However, after I decided to push past it, I understood why. One of the sexiest dirty talking scenes, where I NEED to listen to the Audio book. ‘Better represent England' indeed!

Stella's contribution to the drama of the story was pretty frustrating, to the point where I stopped enjoying her character by the end. I couldn't believe she could not see past her hang ups.

My Take on the Main Characters: Talk about a wonderful MMC. Evan is about as perfect as you can get. He was all in on the FMC from the beginning and he just kept falling in love for her harder and harder.

Stella's stubbornness really got to me multiple times in this book. Her desire to 'stay home' really hit a nerve with me; She stuck to it so hard, even though she clearly wants to try for something more with the H.

What I liked:English Accents. Athletic/Pretty Boy Build MMC. Everything about Evan.

I literally finished reading Hello Darling, I binge read the whole book in just hours, I couldn’t put it down! I NEED MORE!
Kayley's writing is so good and funny! This book kind of ruined my life because now I want a hot British actor in my life!

I became a fan of British actors, their work and charm since last year and I just pictured each of them on this book perfectly. Every time I read Evan Hunter I could as easily read my favorite actor's name instead, I pictured Georgia as his 3 month-singer girlfriend from the summer of 2016 and his real life friend (also an actor) as his friend Liam.

My grandpa died last July and this book helped me cope with grieving, so the story line of Stella and her mom made me cried so much because I never got to say goodbye to my grandpa either. I understood her perfectly as this holiday’s where the first without him, I have been crying at random times as well as her, because he is no longer here. I started reading this book thinking it was going to be like watching a rom-com and getting that feel good feeling at the end but it was so much more, even though I don’t have a blue eyed, handsome AF British actor falling for me, Hello Darling has helped me grieve a little bit better with my grandpa’s loss.

So, I just want to thank Kayley for writing a story that was so heart-achingly amazing. It has given me the little push I needed to start seeing life optimistically as before, after all this months of dealing with a goodbye I’ll never have.

I loved this book but admittedly, Kayley Loring's ebooks are now a one-click for me. This was written before I totally discovered her through her Brooklyn Book Boyfriends stories (which are amazing) but the audiobook features Shane East playing a British actor. So I had to listen.

First the story- Evan Hunter, a Hollywood star who manifests Hugh Grant's voice in his head as his little conscience, is filming his latest moving in a small town. He meets Stella, who manages the gym that he decided to join. They start by being friends but soon, they realize they can't overcome their chemistry. But can a small town girl and a Hollywood star really make it work?

This book reminds me of the movies I loved- Nottinghill and Love, Actually. (and yes, they were actually mentioned) and the couple, as well as their friends, were so charming that I loved watching Stella and Evan finally get their HEA. I felt like Stella held on a bit too long to her concerns but generally, the book is low angst and really sweet.

Now, for the narration. Shane East brought this book to a totally different level. I think I just want to listen to the book again, just to hear him playing this role. Mackenzie Cartwright is also excellent in this story, affecting the accent pretty well but switching between characters so well. But there's something about listening to the authenticity nd the beautiful cadence of Shane East's voice that totally elevate this story.

What an excellent introduction to Kayley Loring’s writing! Hello Darling was the perfect blend of romantic comedy and small town romance. It had me laughing-out-loud and simultaneously swooning over this unexpected attraction between a British celebrity and hometown gym manager. Evan had his eye on Stella, even before he set foot in Port Gladstone, and as fate would have it, the chemistry sparked between them. Evan finds himself falling for Stella, wanting her to become part of his life, but Stella’s past has her closed off to any long-term possibility. As Evan’s presence becomes more entwined with her family, her town and her heart, Stella finds herself torn between protecting herself and choosing love. I’m thrilled to have discovered this author, as her story-telling and sense of humor are truly brilliant, not to mention her choice of narrators!

Listened on audio: Mackenzie Cartwright and Shane East were the perfect pair to bring these characters to life. The personalities were spot on and the duo performance was amazing! Shane’s British accent is always sexy to my ears and I could have him saying “hello darling” on repeat all day long… I was, however, pleasantly surprised that Mackenzie pulled off an excellent British accent as well. Definitely a fun and enjoyable listening experience!

5 stars!! Kayley Loring is such an amazing author.

She gives us plenty of clever and witty dialogue, it’s a realistic, easy to relate to and you can connect with the characters. I adored both lead characters, Evan Hunter, British movie star extraordinaire and Stella Starkey, manager of family owned gym, yoga instructor.
She also included a great support cast alongside them. Evan is set to film on location in Port Gladstone, his stay will be a long one and so decides to join the local gym, after finding it online. Stella’s caught his attention right from the start and after meeting her in person he wanted to know her even more. Stella’s doesn’t see what others seen in him at first but ends up finding herself drawn to him, she even convinces herself to have a bit of a fling with him whilst he’s in town. The chemistry between them is off the charts. Being famous never went to Evan’s head, remaining grounded but this has never stopped him knowing what he wants in life and currently that's to have Stella and he won’t take that she isn't interested as an answer.

Shane East and Mackenzie Cartwright give their voices to this story and they are just amazing and really brought this story to life.

Audio Review
Hello Darling, 5 stars you bet your knickers. Once again this author has written a fantastically fun rom-com that is full of emotions and great characters and oh yeah, a British actor. Evan and Stella are from not only different parts of the world but their lives couldn't be more different. He is a world class movie star and she is a yoga instructor/gym owner and manager. He travels the world and she remains in her small hometown with her family. When Evan comes to Port Gladstone Stella's world is about to get a whole lot bigger.

This book is fun and interesting and great characters with enough going on to keep your interest. I laughed out loud and teared up because there is great fun but also deep emotions with these characters and I loved how they found each other.

Shane East and Mackenzie Cartwright are absolutely perfect for this book. Oh to listen to Shane with his delicious accent and Mackenzie with her sassy smart mouth was the perfect Evan and Stella. Great listen from beginning to end.

This is a definite listen that is worth the credit. 5 stars for me, I loved everything about it.

As if I didn’t love the British already, this enhanced it. The words, quirkiness and terms are enough to make any woman swoon. I found myself reading his thoughts and his dialogue in a British accent because I feel like you just have to. I loved them together and the way they fell for each other. I did find myself wanting to shake Stella and talk some sense into her because I didn’t like the way she kept talking herself out of falling hard for him even though he proved time again that he wanted to be with her and really cared and loved her for her. He was understanding of her perspective and didn’t force her into following along with his chaotic life. It was annoying that she at first didn’t see it like that, she saw it as a way of helping him so she wouldn’t drag his life down. The way they felt for each other’s well being was so sweet and you just knew they belonged together. What a very sweet and uplifting story.

One day I'm going to have the resources to turn my books into audiobooks. When I do, I want MacKenzie Cartwright as the female protagonist narrator - she is the perfect voice for contemporary romance AND she has great comedic gifts. Shane East will always be THE British voice. I'm not just a fan of both narrators, I'm also a huge fan of Kayley Loring. I got the audio version of "Come Back to Bed" last summer because of the male narrator. After that, I snapped up everything else Kayley Loring had available on Audible and will continue to do so. Her books have characters to cheer for, storylines worth following, and HEAs to be happy about. Every time I listen to another of her books I think I have a new favorite. If you aren't acquainted with Kayley Loring's work, "Hello Darling" is a great place to start

This was the ultimate movie star falls for the small town girl romance. I loved the fact that Stella had no idea who Evan was until he arrived in her gym and she googled him! The family dynamic for Stella was entertaining, her little brother had me cracking up every time he was on the scene! The angst and drama level was surprisingly low for this type of story, Stella did let insecurities get the better of her once but that was to be expected.

There really isn’t any way to describe the narration with Shane East as anything other than swoon-worthy! His accent for Evan was really the best part of the story and that is saying a lot! Mackenzie Cartwright did a great job narrating for Stella and her family but I couldn’t help but feel disappointed when she would say Evan’s lines… she was great, but I missed the accent of Shane during those parts!

This book is pure perfection, one of my go to feel-good repeat listen/read when I need a pick-me-up. It has everything of Ms. Loring’s heartwarming and whimsical signature writing, superbly performed by two of my all time favourite duo Mackenzie Cartwright and Shane East. I not only find the main characters captivating but the rest of the side characters too, all brought to life by #Shakenzie. I’m very impressed by the amazing talent by these two narrators, especially when they both performed Mrs. Flauvich, all I could do was chuckle. Furthermore, Mackenzie’s male voice is one of my most favourites, apart from making me swoon to Evan’s british voice, she made me laughed out loud with The Kwas comical text messages, giggled to Billy’s energetic character and had me teary-eyed when Stella had a meaningful conversation with her father. And what can I say, but thank you very much Ms. Loring for writing all these delightful words in Evan’s point of view for Shane to perform especially chapter 13, 15, 18 and 23. This fangirl is truly grateful. 😉

This is a fun romcom with a transatlantic couple that meet in a gym. She’s the gym manager and he’s the celebrity actor getting in shape for his latest film. Evan is on location in Stella’s port town and falls head over heels for the bendy yoga instructor.

It’s classic Kayley with hilarious one liners and ridiculous humour. A perfect palate cleanser after the heavy book I just finished.

Mackenzie is fast becoming a favourite female narrator with her perfect comedic timing and ability to give us all the sarcasm. Being a Brit myself I enjoyed the slang references and the dry humour. Shane gives us the Brit actor with an inner Hugh Grant. I loved the pop culture references to his films.

Another audio from Kayley that hits its mark.

This book captured my heart from beginning to end.....from Kayley Loring’s dedication (love those amazing British blokes, especially Hugh) to the acknowledgments (#yestoballs). And in between, I fell in love with Evan, Stella, the Starkey family and the town of Port Gladstone. Head Hugh was pretty entertaining, too! This sweet and sexy story gives us faith that love really does conquer all.

The narration by Mackenzie Cartwright and Shane East was wonderful, too! Mackenzie is perfect as the small town girl that everyone loves and Shane is amazing as the charming British movie star who turns that small town upside down.
