This was not to bad of a second addition to the series. Mason ends up in his original home town trying to find more clues about his sisters death by looking closer into his past. Unfortunately Mason finds more than he can handle. This installment was a bit slower than the first and could have used alittle more meat. I am looking forward to the third installment to see how this all ends for Mason and his family.
Mason should have known better than to return to his hometown, especially to return alone. Now he is in deep trouble, and his dad may join him soon, as he has gone back home to search for Mason. His pen pal has a run-in with Mason's mother and we find out it is a female. Interesting! How does she know so much about the murder and Mason's sister? It has a cliff-hanger ending so you will need the next installment to find out what happens next. A good read with lots of suspense. Jean, ARC Team
I received an ARC and I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
This story continues with Mason trying to discovery what happened to his sister. His next stop is based on information that he has received from his pen pal. He travels to Rose Hills, which is where his family lived earlier to find the Beauford family. He believes that he can get the answers that he needs. Meantime, Mason's father discovers the note that Mason had dropped and follows him to Rose Hills. He is worried that Mason's hunt for the Beauford will result with trouble.
Mason locates the Beauford family and things get bad. To discover what Mason faced in Rose Hills, whether his father had any luck and what the relationship to the Beauford family was, then you need to read this book. The ending will have you wait for the next book to discover what's next.
Amazing read it was a thriller.B. P. Steven created some good story plots and make them come alive. It was a page turner and the suspense was intense and I was on the edge of my seat and I couldn’t put it down. Mason needed to find his sister Violet no matter what it might takes . So he hired a private investigator to help him look for her. Will this private investigator give Mason the information that he needs to bring his sister home safely and alive. Did Mason know the people who kidnapped her? Did he own them money? I can’t wait for the next book to come out. I highly recommend this book and you won’t regret reading it going to have you jump out of your shoes. I received a free ARC of this book and voluntarily leaving a honest review. Trina Jones
Breathtakingly thrilling, I read this with my heart in my mouth most of the time. I like the way it is narrated by three protagonists, each with a different agenda and outlook. The change from one to another is very skilful and it takes a moment to realise which protagonist is speaking. This is an extremely compelling story that drew me in from the first page. Now I can't wait for the next installment!
When Mason realizes that his actions may have caused his sister's disappearance and possible murder, he is driven to find out the truth. After discovering some family secrets, he decides that going back to their home town may hold some clues. Again, there is a good story here but having to figure out whose POV we are reading at the moment is distracting. I received a free ARC of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion of the tale.
This story is shaping.up to be a cracker. Mason is still seeking answers for the sisters.murder and returns to his home town and into a pile of trouble. These short stories are well written and develop the characters well. The story grabs you from the first page and will not let.go despite the frequent shifts in POV that caused me a little confusion . I look forward to the next instalment. I received a complimentary copy from the Author and am leaving a honest voluntary review.

Mason wanting answers for his sisters death returns to his home town and finds more than he thought. He finds dark secrets in his family. A good twisted thriller, looking for the next book. Given arc for my voluntary review.
Mason travels to the town where his father is hated by the Beaufords. He wants to find out what happened to his sister Violet. He is in a very dangerous position. Making it out alive will be a challenge. A quick read, but a thrilling one.
The Note (The Violet Carter Series: Book 2) is a fabulous continuation of this series. As more is revealed the danger rises. Action-packed and fast-paced. Delicious characters and intriguing plot. I can't wait for the next installment!

The book is really starting to heat up as Mason tries ti discover what happened to his little sister! I love Mason determination and inner strength! Looking forward to reading the last installment of this book!
Such a great read! This thriller has great background and mystery! I enjoyed tracking each group and seeing who's past is going to catch up to Mason first. Between his family, the PI world, the bar gang, and the Beaufords, it was a wild ride of who's death would be figured out or be next.
A quick read. The suspense and mystery in this book doesn’t disappoint. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series to discover what happens next
Second in the series things are already heating up with trouble everywhere. Madness who has the answers and will the father and the son stay alive long enough to find out.
