Shayla was determined to get her fast-tailed sister the help she needed and she wanted the best lawyer. She didn't know how she going to pay him but she was already working two jobs to take care of her siblings after their parents died. The Bulldog was the best lawyer in the country with good instincts about his cases. All he needed was two minutes with a person and he knew what to do. There was only one thing, he did not do pro bono work ever. But watching Shayla and her sister Alana in the courthouse, he just knew that his help was needed. He could not explain why but he knew that they were his to protect. He was not used to anyone standing their ground to do what was best for them and their family. Shayla had responsibilities that did not include him and he did not know how to take it. He was used to women throwing themselves at him to do anything just to get his attention.
Shayla Pearson had put all of her dreams on hold to take care of her siblings and Alana was headed down the wrong path. Alana was a smartmouthed flippant typical teenager who thought she knew everything about life and did not realize how serious her situation was.
Ronnie "Bulldog" Burton was the best lawyer in the country who only represented the rich in trouble. He didn't his nickname Bullgdog for nothing. He was tenacious when it came to the law. He was at a point in his life where he was tired of the same old golddiggers and heiresses. They all wanted the clout he represented by being in his bed or arm candy. Shayla Pearson was a kind, loving, and intelligent big sister who would do anything to help her little sister. He'd never known anyone like her. He was a mean and harsh man who did not put up with any bull and took over for Shayla and was set on the path of getting Alana on the straight and narrow. He tickled me on how he got her straightened out. She knew he meant business and would not accept anything but the best from Alana from then on. If Shayla were in his life, he would make sure he was her backup and her siblings were his responsibility too.
Mallory always writes a story that brings the plot back to the beginning. Great story from beginning to end. She's my one-click authur. She never disappoints.
Mallory Monroe spins a captivating tale of righteous anger, selflessness, and surprising alliances. When Shayla's sister Alana begins to follow a perilous path, the unselfish young woman who has taken it upon herself to care for her siblings following the death of their parents finds herself in a precarious predicament. An unexpected hero, Ronnie "Bulldog" Burton, comes to light. Bulldog is no stranger to defending the interests of the powerful and rich. But meeting Shayla questions both his sense of justice and his place in the universe. Skillful character development is what makes this novel stand out. We see Shayla as a strong-willed and caring sister who would give up her aspirations for the sake of her loved ones. In contrast, Bulldog comes across as a cold and unyielding character at first, shaped by his past and suspicious of kindness. Still, Bulldog changes for the better after seeing Shayla's steadfast loyalty to her sister and her courage under fire. He is driven to speak up for justice, despite the financial consequences, by his innate insight into human nature and his newfound sense of purpose. This story exemplifies the author's talent for creating stories that stay with readers even after they've finished reading them. Mallory Monroe spins a riveting yarn that stays with readers long after they've finished the book by deftly incorporating themes of family, redemption, and the hunt for justice. Readers who enjoy stories with vivid settings and memorable characters will love this one.
Another Mallory Monroe hit wonder, tough as a rapid dog Ronnie had a soft spot. He heard of Shay's sister predicament of murder charge and took her case pro bono, even though he said he didn't do them.
He was drawn to Shay but couldn't say why but he persisted in finding out. Shay had responsibility to her siblings she gave up her dreams after her parents died. Having two jobs to earn a living, then her sister drama put her in a quandary. Ronnie stepping in to defend her sister case was a answer to prayer.
Glad to know that even at the age that Ronnie was he wasn't too stale to recognise his mate when they come before him. A good ending, but still a lot of grammatical errors cropping into story line.
I enjoyed the book but expected more from Ms. Monroe. There was a lot of typing errors in the book. The story was good but since the price increased the quality should have been better. This book felt rushed. I own all of Mallory Monroe books but this one should have been edited better.
It was better than the last book you wrote, but this just doesn’t seem like Your writing style! Your previous books example Mick Sinatra, The Gabrini’s are all awesome books, so much so, that I have read them at least three times or more each! Please give us the better of your work.
This one feels like at least one or more for this new family. Maybe crossover to the Sinatras or Gabrinis. 😉I don't know. Just saying. Look I really love these books. All I can really say is great job and keep 'em coming!!
Bulldog Burton won the best case of his life in the love department. Great book and storyline. A single woman taking care of herself and her siblings finds love and support in the most unlikely man.
This was a pretty good story, even though I found a few typo's which is unusual. But I'm still a fan of this author. And I love the fact that the drama was not easily distinguished
When you spend as much reading time with an author, you get to know and enjoy their style. I enjoy this style . Good story it could keep going, but a definitive ending is good, too.
Loved this story as usual. I am a fan of this Author; always waiting for the next book. I have never figure out the ending as I do most books I have read, which makes me lose interest in reading them.
If you want to read an entertaining books, follow this author! This is a!o an amazing book. Once again each Ms. Mallory has done it again to write a story with great characters, step into fiction and enjoy.
Great read, lots of tooth grinding, nail biting, nerve racking drama. Ronnie and Shayla were an odd couple but love happens to the oddest people at the right time for them. Kudos to the author I love, loved it!!☺😘
This was pretty good as always when it comes to Mallory Monroe's writing! I suspected that the teen sister was holding back info and I am glad that everything was revealed. Good story!
The love making was implied not described, this book was PG. The story line wasn't strong it felt rushed. I was very disappointed. I want my money back!
I enjoyed the story but no one is going to talk about the two GROWN men that messed around with a 16 year old? I feel that is a major issue to leave out of the story.
