For this final match, is he in…or out? Corrinne Winters is the best damn PA the Rattlesnakes has ever had, and now she wants a baby. The problem? I’m not willing to let her find some random sperm donor to get the job done. I own the damn team and I want what’s best for her. All I’ve got to do is convince her that the best choice for a father is gonna be me. I’m not the kind of guy who goes all in, and Corrinne knows it. What happens when I start to develop very real feelings in the middle of our hockey season? What happens when her happiness starts to mean more to me than the Snakes winning the Cup? Corinne is the real deal. She wants a baby and I’m going to give it to her. Even if it kills me.

In this story, Corrinne has realized that time is running out and she's decided to have a baby as a single mom. Her boss Jeremy offers to help her find a sperm donor, but neither the sperm bank lists or the dating apps seem too promising. When Jeremy volunteers himself they make a contract that he'd sign off his rights as the father. They're in for several months of hot sex and bitter disappointments.

I liked the general flow of the writing and the way getting pregnant wasn't an instant thing as in so many other books in which the heroine is accidentally knocked up as soon as she sees a man. Jeremy's reason for avoiding relationships so far was a bit annoying plot device. When he was in college he had one girlfriend and it ended badly. So now, what, two decades later, he's still convinced that all relationships are bad. I don't know, men in their thirties, forties who still pout about girlfriends they had when they were eighteen - who does that. Corrinne's family stressed me out.

The romance stands alone but characters from previous books are the couple's friends and support system.

I read an arc with minor continuity problems.

This was an opposites attract workplace sports romance.

I loved this story. There is nothing better than a reformed player. Highly recommend the entire series!

Corrinne Winters is the personal assistant for the Arizona Rattlesnakes hockey team. She is in her mind thirties and desperately wants a baby.

Jeremy Harris co-owns the Rattlesnakes with his twin brother Josh. He has a party boy reputation.

They have a love/hate relationship and love to rib each other. Corrinne is having no luck finding Mister Right so her girlfriends create a profile for her on an online dating app. She goes on several disastrous dates and is considering using a sperm bank. Jeremy offers to help her find dates. She goes on a series of dates and then she and Jeremy have dinner together after each of them. She is about to give up when Jeremy offers to be her baby daddy. They try for several months and catch feelings for each other. They are finally successful and get their HEA.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. Corrinne wants to have a baby and when Jeremy accepts this, he wants the best for her. After many bad attempts , Jeremy offers himself. I liked how this leads to both admitting their true feelings and becoming a true couple.
