Reign of Dragons #4

Queen of Fire

Rate this book
When we summoned the Ether, we thought we were saving the world. We thought we were ending the reign of dragons, freeing the people of power-hungry Azarius kings and queens once and for all.

Turns out, none of us had any idea what the reign of dragons truly means.

Secrets finally come to light. The truth that I have been searching for across seven lifetimes is unlike anything I could have imagined.

And my father might just not be the villain that I always believed him to be.

With a potential apocalypse looming in the horizon, will I be strong enough to sacrifice everything the way my ancestors have done for centuries?

Or will the Ether thief put an end to the reign of dragons for good and claim the world as his?

Warning of spoilers!

Finally it came to an end.
I still love the worldbuilding, the different shifters and the magic in the story.

Ella wasn't a very likeable character. She was crying a lot through the books. And got often kidnapped. You'd think after the first time she would learn something. What also got old is how often she passed out.

What I did like is that she questioned her beliefs and confronted her father. Though I appreciate that the dragon king was given a more complex picture it's irritating that all the violence and emotional abuse Ella experienced because of him got rationalised.

The romance did not fulfil my expectations. The steamy scenes were intense and nicely written. Still I wished for more sustenance and development beyond the bedroom scenes, not only in this book but throughout the whole series.

The next-to-last chapter which was kind of an epilogue felt rushed and unsatisfactory.

The last chapter from the villain's POV was a nice touch.

About half way through I just lost interest. The characters, mostly Ella but also John, make so many dumb decisions! I was just over it. Ella is so full of quilt and wants to make up for her perceived mistakes that she makes more mistakes! Also, she cries like throughout this entire book. Good Lord.

I liked the ideas of the plot, and the types of draca were cool but I'd rather have had more from Lucien's POV as he was more rational. Then the plot just wraps up super quick at the end, easy peasy, after all that angst and drama, it seemed like a let down.

A good conclusion to an interesting story. Estella continues to deal with everything happening physically in the world, plus her emotions regarding said world events and her relationship with her father.

Long awaited truths are revealed that are definitely life and world changing.

Favorite, and not so favorite, characters return. Also, more interactions between the shifted species, which was delightful. Plus, the intriguing introduction of a new character that has serious implications for the problems Estella and her crew are facing.

While the storyline within this series concludes, the author opens the door to either a second series or spin-off series. I'm hoping this leads to more time spent on Estella's friends and family to see what happens with them.

This fourth book was as well written as the previous three. I started it, and before I knew it, I finished it. The story kept my attention for sure! If you somehow came across this review without reading the other books in this series, start from the beginning - it's gonna be a wild ride!

Rcvd an advanced reader copy from the author for giving my two cents. In the last book we saw Ella's dragoness come forth and rescue her father before he could be killed. Ella's struggles with conflicting emotions when it comes to her father....she hates him yet loves him. Her dragoness is magnificent and she is enamored and fascinated with her father's dragons wings. Her father looks healthier now that he isn't in the ground. Ella's tired of all the lies and things kept from her. Her father and mother wanted her to have a normal childhood...is it normal to be threatened by your father on a daily basis? Or to have your face covered at all times? He tells Ella that he promised her mother that he would wait until she is Queen but now that Ether has been released he has no choice. Ella can't belive what she is hearing...it has to be lies, her ancestors were murderers. They go back to the manor into the secret room where she reads a boom by Farin Azarius...her ancestor that saw how the man stole the Ether and what needed to be done to stop him. Ella doesnt want to believe it but deep down she knows. What's more surprising is after Ether kidnaps her, he sees her bring her ancestor back from the dead...it's not possible but it is...the same woman who helped her escape the dungeon. While captive, Ether tells her his story of his parents, how he consumed the Ether and how he keeps time on his side and how he manipulated her. Ella realizes it was him everytime in her past lives. Plus with magic back in the world how can stop the man who will only get stronger and is pure energy. Drama, deception and revealed truths make this a page turner.

What a waste of my time. The final book didn’t do anything good for the storyline and was more confusing in spots than ever.

The little bit less of a whiner Ella became in book 3 went right back out the window here, and she’s more selfish than ever. How is it she’s now the most powerful dragon in existence when she spends 99% of her time just letting the dragoness be in charge and taking a backseat is beyond me. And Lucien is still as demanding of a jerk as ever when it comes to sex.

She’s a queen and he’s a rebel leader who are both are fairly articulate and intelligent, but the moment they get hot and eager and then it’s crass dirty talk, dominant behavior, lack of respect and every body part named us by it’s crude nickname. It’s like IQs drop the moment someone gets turned on.

Jack and John are still the most likable characters, Ella has some weird issues with her father (who still doesn’t seem to be able to say many nice things to her face- the author may have finally decided daddy is mostly a good man but it’s definitely a twisted relationship. I’m still trying to decide if Lucien and Ella will be ever anything more than just in list with one another, because they never admire anything about one another other than how hot and bothered they are over the other person’s body and looks.

And what’s up with Mikaylia and Rowan? I don’t think even the characters know- Lucien may be all about possessing Ella and yet Rowan seems happy for Mikaylia to be in charge for the parts of their relationship we see. Both brothers, however, are pretty much just thinking with their body parts rather than anything else.

As I mentioned already, Ella has abdicated most of her working brain cells playing passenger to her newborn dragoness form who is still learning to get the basics of flight, etc online, and the fact that she spends a lot of that dragon time watching her dragon form licking the crap out of her mate as well as her dad (ewww).

I was thankful that the author didn’t spend time giving us Ella and Lucien sex scenes in their animalistic forms because the sex she does give us was plenty boring and repetitive of every other sex scene before- it’s gotten easy to skim ahead now when yet another comes up.

And… what’s up with Lucien spending this final book not calling her Ella a single time but now calling her Estella? Even in his private thoughts? I had no issue with giving a false name that she answers to for the first book, and then going by her nickname for books 2 & 3 but the sudden formality is just at weird… did her father threaten Lucien behind the scenes insist Lucien use her given name?

And somehow Ella is at her worst here when she should be reveling in her string power and form, but she lives to hide herself away by either ignoring the world in general and hoping/thankful for being unconscious or sinking into it every other scene- not to mention how many times her little Princess heart cries in sympathy for herself?

Not to mention a few inconsistencies- if Ella’s biological imperative is to mate after the mating ceremony with Lucien is complete in order to get pregnant (something she mentions should only take one try to accomplish given her dragon’s ready acceptance to the wyvern mate), why didn’t she ever get pregnant in a past life when we are told she certainly had sex with her previous mates? Maybe the dragoness never really approved of the mates her father chose? But if the dragoness heartily approved, and we know those two are unable to resist each other, why does it take her 3 years to have a baby? Do dragons have incredibly long gestational periods?

Why give Mikhaylia and Rowan a romance together but not throw Jack and John a girl? Surely the author didn’t have a problem with giving the twins playtime sharing the same girl since they share a body in their animal form… or give both boys their own set of twins- surely it couldn’t be that hard to find them a 2-headed hydra or an amphisbaena or a gal happy to get a 2-for-1 package deal? It seems a cruel thing to leave out live for the most likable guys in the gang.

Also, why did Lucien never try to get into the competition himself in past lives? Surely if he and John keep managing to infiltrate the manor’s defenses he can manage to fight for her hand under an assumed identity? If Jack had the king’s approval to be a guard with strong magic yet the inability to shift in this life, why couldn’t Lucien have tried competing with that excuse to hide his wyvern self? And why does she always die on the day after her 22nd birthday? Why not the day of? If it’s her coming of age that allows her to become queen, the day after that birthday seems a strange choice for the boys to make.

And the epilogue where we find Aurelius is not dead but hiding in Ingrid (no idea why all the intrigue about calling her by her prisoner number rather than by name since no other female in the series would be in jail). Did the author hope the series had done well enough to need a way to pen a spin-off? It’s not necessary to give evil a chance to try again in some future scenario- it’s not like anyone wants to read of Ingrid the idiot having her own comeback.

And what’s with her desire to have Los Angeles and a specific factory in that region for her own as a reward? The place is otherwise never mentioned so what gives? Oh, yeah- it must be trying to set the reader up for that spin-off again… no thank you.

I am sure I found find more examples, but it all comes down to there being nothing satisfying in the series and how it was a waste of my time where I could have read (or reread) something a lot more interesting. Heck, watching paint dry would have been more stimulating.

Save yourself the bother. As prolific of a writer as the author seems to be, nothing will convince me to try reading their other works- if you are reading for the story alone it’s not worth it, and if it’s for the sex I am sure there are better books out there (I certainly wasn’t here for the poorly depicted and unimaginative “spice”) but if even a prude like me is bored out of her mind with each (repetitive and unimaginative) sex scene there is no way you’ll be turned on either.

Overall pretty good series. The miscommunication stuff was quite annoying and hard to look past (from the fmc, mmc, and the father). The fmc also cried the whole time which was annoying (in the second book she started crying and just never stopped). The end felt pretty rushed but I was getting a little bored of the story so I guess I didn’t mind as much as I should’ve. Despite all of that I don’t regret reading it. The end opened up for a next book or series but I doubt I’ll read it.

loved it!

This series kept me hooked from book one. So many secrets and lies and elements. It had me so zoned in I even dreamt of being a dragon 🐉 so crazy! One of my favorite series I think, the kind you can read more than once.

I breezed through this book within a matter of DAYS—a fantastic conclusion to an epic story about Princess Estella & co’s efforts to restore the reign of dragons before the seemingly indestructible Ether can end the world. The spice level wasn’t nearly as bad as the previous books had been, so that also made it more manageable to read. Overall, if you can get through the sex scenes, you’ll have no problem getting through the other books. This book was, more so than the previous three, chock full of adventure & action scenes that will keep the readers invested all the way to the last page, which left me wanting more. To the point where I’d love for the author to drop a novella or another full-length book just so we could have one final visit into this fantasy world she’s managed to build up, to expand on that final cliffhanger. There seems to be so much to this world left to explore, more stories to tell, & I’d be here for every second of it. All in all though, a solid, worthy conclusion to a series I’ve been wanting to read for some time & have enjoyed over the past month. Brava Ms. Hoxa!!

This was so stressful it took me over a week to read lol.

We still have weepy Ella and idk I wish we didn’t take that direction with her. She’s very indecisive about how she feels about her dad and I get it but doesn’t mean it’s not tiresome. V sad about him tho tbh

I felt like the relationships didn’t really get developed deeply even tho it felt like they could have been, like it was just out of reach. Like the scene of Ella drawing on her dads wings is such a sweet and telling scene, we could have built so much from that and more but we didn’t. We also didn’t develop Lucien and Ella much because they were always just trying to get back to each other. Understandable but a let down as well.

The steamy scenes in the entire series are long and there’s always at least two of them in each book, but it felt really out of place for me in this book like the stakes were so high and the world was in literal turmoil, there is no time to hankypank! And again I felt like I saw the set up for things a mile away in this book that I couldn’t wait for the characters to get it.

Omg also the end chapter??? What was that?? Is she tryna set us up for a sequel? A spin off?? Why did she do that omg I mean super interesting tbh but that just opened up the whole story again after we closed it up and the closing also felt super rushed btw. A lot of the pacing was actually a little off to me. Like the ending fight was 1/5 of the book but the actual scene when we bag the bad guy who is pretty much a god-tier power villain is like 2 pages. But anyway yeah the resolution part of the ending was all told to us recap style?? Not my cup of tea. I like to be there as it goes down and a recap seems like a cop out to skip details and just clean up fast.

Idk I like the series and the story was interesting but the relationships and some characteristics of Ella brought it down for me. Also the pacing mhm.

Such a good series

Book four did a fantastic job wrapping up the series and at the same time left me wanting more. Ms. Hoxa has built such a beautiful world that it's easy to get lost in the pages.

I've got mixed feelings.

Bad:
Writing. The info dump how this world works is explained at least three times! First the father, then the diary, then to the rest of the gang... Like can't you just say "and then she told them everything"?!? Why do I have to read it three times when I understood it at first time? Other things were on loop also. They figure a solution to a problem and try to fix it. When it is actual fixing time they panic and it's like someone just had "new idea" out of nowhere. No, you figured that idea few chapters ago this is not a new idea?!??
Using flinching, spitting and bloodshot TOO MANY TIMES! since I "binge" read this series I noticed that those words where used more and more. Annoying 🙄
Our fmc just looovs to cry and self-pity herself. She is always in tears. It doesn't matter if she is thinking ,running, hugging or ducking. ALWAYS. Also many chapters ends her being unconscious.. and it happens in the chapters too. This girl can sleep, damn. Unwillingly and willingly🤷.
This was kinda lackluster build up to the final battle with no twists really. Or there tried to be twists but they were obvious ones...

Good:
Well... I did binge read this series in 4 days.. so there must be something good 🤔... the plot had potential and it is somewhat entertaining read.. probably I read this out of curiosity how things will end since the first book was best of the series.

P.s. Harry Potter and prisoner of Azkaban is third book not second. Get the facts right!

The conclusion to the Reign of Dragons series, this fourth installment see Estella and her friends battle together as they try and stop the newly returned Ether—an evil man of her family’s past that is less the true Ether but rather one who stole its power. Along the way, Estella finds out more truths of her past family but also learns more about her father and his journey to this point in life.

I enjoyed this series. This is my third series by D.N. Hoxa and I always love how she balances the romance/spice with the plot of the story.

I will say that I was a bit disappointed that this book I felt had less to do about Estella and Lucien and their connection. It’s definitely a different take on the concept of mates and while the spicy scenes were definitely there, the story more revolves around Estella and her dad’s relationship most of the book. I didn’t mind that honestly, I’m glad we got to see that on the page, but from there I felt like Lucien then took a step in the background and their whole relationship just became more of a physical thing on page vs it contributing to the story.

Overall, a great story. The author actually kind of left it open to a possible continuation at the end there with the epilogue but she’s published other series since this came out, so I wonder if she ever plans on returning to this? I think she could, even with the original characters, and I’d definitely read it!

I read all 4 books in this series. This covers the whole series.

Overall I really enjoy DN Hoxa 's stories. So many great ideas. While I liked the series, it's not my favorite. And by book 4 I was rather annoyed with how the events played out.

Ella wasn't my favorite FMC. While she has good traits. But I find her character more often annoying than likeable. In the first book I understand she was super sheltered. But over the course of the series, she never improves. Estella, show some growth girl!

Lucien as an MMC is perfectly fine. Nothing great, but he didn't suck.

**spoilers for book 4**

Now this whole plot starts out cool. Very original. I enjoyed the world building. But by the time we figure out what's happening and it's "too late". Now I'm seriously pissed off. It takes the miscommunication trope to a 10. Not in a good way. Ella's parents suck. Abhorrent!! Oh we want to protect her for as long as possible. Beat your beloved daughter so she won't get close. So much emotional and physical abuse only for book 4 to show him as a loving father. For 3 full books, the King is depicted as the most horrible creature, but on book 4 it's all, oh no I wasn't like that at all. And I'm supposed to see him as the good guy. No. Whether that was the plan the whole time, it feels like a switch in plans in book 3.

Finally completed this series. Overall, I very much enjoyed the plot and storyline. It gave us the predictable ending we knew was coming since book 1. As much as I liked the plot, this did not need to be a 4 book series.
Things were so drawn out and chapters where absolutely nothing even happened. Just a lot crying or sex.

We carried through all 4 books of drama and angst for a very rushed ending. There was no exploration of how the world came back together after everything happened. Just that Ella expected to be queen and everyone follow her reign.

It would have been nice to have more substance in the relationships as well. Even with the side characters, things became lost. Whatever happened to her relationship with Janet for example. I loved Luciens character and who he was but his relationship with Ella came across as flat if it wasn’t a sexual scene. They needed substance to their relationship.

I loved getting his point of view as it was much more interesting and action driven than Ella’s crying or passing out. Wished for so much more of his voice.

It was also a nice touch to have the complexity that there was of the dragon king but it would’ve been nice for a more explained answers such as why if he truly loved her SO much did he resort to abusing Ella?

The Reign of Dragons is the first ever series I picked up written by D.N. Hoxa. And let me tell you this series has been such a roller coaster of emotions for me!

I admit it was a little slow for me in the beginning, but by the third book I was so hooked you couldn't pry the book out of my cold dead hands. And I think I speak for everyone when I say

I loved everything about the show stopping finale of this series. From every moment between Lucien and Estella, to Everything was just perfection.

And the little teaser we got at the end had me rolling, not even kidding.
All in all, I am so glad I picked up this series. I devoured her in less than 48 hours, forgetting life because I had to see the Reign of Dragons continue.

This was amazing! There was so much going on in this one. I KNEW that Alexandra was going to somehow come back. She wasn’t back for long but she definitely caused some issues. I’ve come to the conclusion though that I do like the king. He obviously isn’t a favorite character of mine but I do like him (sadly). I am very confused about that ending though. I loved everything else about the book other than that. It wouldn’t have been bad if there was more context at the end or something, but there isn’t. It feels like the series ended at a cliffhanger and I don’t like that. I would love to see more of these characters and more of this universe but I wasn’t able to find anything about another book or spin off and this released last October. That ending and the confusion around it is the only reason I’m giving this 4 stars instead of 5. I loved this book and this series in general will be one of my favorites forever.

I tried to enjoy this one, but the FMC literally spends the entire series crying.. about everything. The premise was good, and some of the plot lines were interesting, but overall the main character comes off as childish and whiney. The sudden switch of villians was interesting enough, but instead of seeing this truly play out, we just hear about how Ella feels about her father and her guilt over and over. Lucian is a decent character, along with the other Drakes, but I don't understand why any of them tolerate her, let alone love her. After 7 lifetimes you would think she had grown enough to accomplish things on her own, and as a dragon shifter, one could presume that she would be powerful - but instead she's still naive, weak, and submissive. The series drags through four books, just to have all the revelations and action rushed in the last few chapters. Overall, the entire series was a bit of a struggle.

What a conclusion.

I felt like there was so much happening that some things didn’t fully get wrapped up for me. I wished we could have gone back to the Moving Forest to get some conclusion from that, and maybe it was me but I kept waiting for the item Alexandra stole from the Pathmaker to make an appearance since the flower that was given to Ella was such a big part of the story. I kept thinking Ella would find it in the library and use it in some way.

I also wished there would have been more relationship building in the characters overall through all the books. I felt like all the romantic relationships were very “insta-love” and had less building. Even the relationship with Ella’s father didn’t really get the justice I thought it deserved.

Many people were bothered by Ella crying and being weak but I actually loved that because it made her real to me. If that was me thrust in the situation she was I’d likely be crying too, so it made her more realistic to me.

This series has been such a roller coaster ride of emotions! The first two books I hated the king. Then Dori begins to change my mind in book 3, and by book 4 my heart is absolutely shattered for the sacrifices that he made in order to protect Estella. This book puts our heroes through the wringer, and the Ether is a bad bad man! I loved seeing Lucien and the King working together to find and rescue Estella. And of course, Lucien and Estella’s moments were just fantastic! I’m so glad that the majority of our good guy characters get their happy endings, and that most of our bad guys get what they truly deserve! Alexandra’s demise was so poetic! But that little teaser at the end though has me wondering if we’ll get a spin-off series from this one in the future. Overall this series was absolutely thrilling and entertaining to read! Definitely recommend!

4 books?

Not sure if it was really necessary to have four books for this story. It was so slow and excruciatingly painful to read. Yes there were some good parts in it that got me to giggle, there were also some parts in there that I did shed a tear over. However, Ella’s character was so overly emotional and selfish. Her crying at every little thing was annoying. There were parts of the books that I completely skipped over. I also skipped over quite a bit of the spicy scenes, super repetitive and not needed. Really disappointed at how drawn out everything was and then towards about end (90, maybe 85%) the story was so fast. It was like everything had to be tied in super quickly.

This needs to go back to editing, the last two books had quite a few errors in it. Overall, would not recommend.

Just really struggling with the fact that the villain seems to have switched halfway through the series. It's not just that her father was abusive and now it's just swept under the rug to fit the new narrative. Then there are the experiments and enjoyment her ancestors were getting from torture and killing. But now they were just trying to weaken the REAL bad guy?

If it was merely a case of her misinterpreting the details, it doesn't come across like that. And it's hard to misinterpret abuse.

This is really disappointing to me because it's been a LONG time since a story grabbed me like this. The multiple lives, her need to escape the situation, the world and the magic, and believable characters. I was more interested in the plot than the romance, which doesn't happen often. I may finish just because I was so invested, but not today.

I have loved this series since book one and have followed Estella on her journey, her quest for answers and finally, finally she gets them BUT are they the answers she thought she would be getting? She has grown so much, seen so much and been through so much and the author has done an incredible job pulling this altogether and giving us the truth after so long. Action packed, emotional, magical and of course a little steamy, this had me hook, line and sinker from start to finish. The world building has been amazing, the storyline exciting, gripping and unputdownable and our characters, well some we love and others we love to hate and I have very much enjoyed this unique and captivating series.

Nice conclusion to the story - sort of. The ending was not really an ending and I don't know how I feel about it. I would have enjoyed more of a wrap up of the things they changed and where they all are now instead of what we were given, especially since it says the series is completed.

I love that the big final battle was done completely naked by the FMC and it was called out. Made it a very real situation where other books may have omitted that detail lol Lucien is and continues to be a beast (in every sense of the word) in the bedroom 🔥 the conclusion to Estella's relationship with her father was beautiful and oh so heartbreaking.

It would have been great to have another scene with the moving forest wrap up with the nymphs, that felt a bit open ended. Overall though, enjoyed.

The rein of Dragons

Six lives, six husbands, and countless memories of each life, but no one believes her. How can she change this life?

Estella is a Princess, she's always the Princess in her six previous lives, where she only lives to her twenty-second birthday. She's murdered before she can really live. Hidden behind a face veil, watching others and dreaming of escaping to a life of freedom, she hatches a plan to get away from her father, the dragon King.

What she finds is a world where shifters and magic have been suppressed, a handsome man who won't let her go and an extremely evil man wanting her dragon power.

This series is very well written with wonderful world building and characters who you will fall in love with.

Dragon Princess Estella, with her mate Lucien and friends, join with her misunderstood father to bring down evil Aurelius and return the Ether to the Tree and restore the balance of magic to the world. I didn't really like this book, although I liked the series. Trice I had to put it down and read another series to get rid of the bad taste in my mind There were just too many lies and the plot twists were not written well enough. It feels like when children write stories for homework and don't know how to write a good ending or write the plot twist, so they say - it was just a dream - or it was all lies - etc. Lies and misdirection in books have to be very well done otherwise the reader feels they have been cheated. I didn't like the last chapter at all. very 1980's.

Estella made the choice to save her father, and then she learns the truth about the ether. Unfortunately, it’s too late to stop the man everyone thinks is the ether from returning to the world. The world has devolved into chaos and Estella, Lucien and the rest of her dragon friends are in a race against time to correct their error and return the balance to the magic of the world.
Action packed and exciting conclusion to a steamy romantic fantasy series. The characters are all fascinating, unique, and well written, I loved this book and series, and highly recommend it to other readers.

OKAY HOXA. GO OFF! This is book four and FINAL in the series. I’m going to be honest, I wasn’t ready for it to be over! This whole time I was hating on many different characters and it turns out…I was wrong. There’s so many discoveries and plot twists in this book that you truly don’t know how it’s going to end. Hoxa does an amazing job giving each character their own vibrant lives and backstories. She intertwines every plot line to tie up every loose end. And yes, at the end of the day, Ella and Lucien have their HEA. There is an epilogue to this book that leaves it open for possibly more installments in the future (which I would NOT complain about). I don’t have much else to say because the writing speaks for itself! You’re going to fall in love, fall in hate, cry with, cheer with, and fight with these characters. 🖤

WOW!

Man what a beautiful ending. Don’t get me wrong, I cried. But amazing what reading this series has done to make me see that who you think is the bad guy isn’t always the bad guy… lots of surprises in this one. Riley being a big one! And that last chapter… well, we shall see. It’s definitely a series I’ll re-read because it’s awesome! Plus DRAGONS! How much cooler can you get… or hotter! Lol! Mikhaila’s story definitely got to me too! Lots of tears there. But Rowan surprised me- turns out I like him! Jack and John are the coolest twins! You should just read this series. That’s all!

This series started to drag for me in book 3 but this one is much worse. The FMC never seems to learn that communication goes a long way. Like why wouldn’t she talk to her father after finding the library and reading about her history? It makes no sense not to go to your best resource. Also she cries through everything, I stg there wasn’t a scene where she wasn’t crying. Crying is exhausting but she always seems to have the energy for that but nothing else? Okay sure. I’m so frustrated because I really liked the first two books, but the way she writes, I have to finish the entire series for there to be a resolution so I couldn’t just stop there. 😐

Meh. I was super bored the whole time, I really just wanted to see how it ended. I wanted to see the ending, but didn’t really care about it. There was a little action there at the end, and a little alluding to a spin off, but overall it wasn’t anything special. This series is not what I thought it was. The author could have taken the time loop out of it and it would have been the same exact story. I was also so confused the whole time bc we’re suppose to be in a modern day America…which is so dumb bc we have castles and a monarchy. I think it’s so weird she decided to make it in the real world and not just a medical fantasy world.
