This book is too long. Too long yet so many stuff happening all at once, so I'm saving you all the trouble by enumerating the important points of the book instead:
1. The recycled heroine goes undercover inside billionaire hero's company to write an exposè trope. Penny's manipulative mom asks her to do it. Penny accepts bc the Svensson dude was a douche to her. And she's broke, so this is the book's "drama"
2. Boring fom page 30-400. yes that's the entirety of the book, I know! Nothing that much important happening here so, I'm outlining it here instead:
• Penny baking stuff written in complete details?
• PARTIES. Lots of them?
• Penny having no backbone here whatsoever. Still continuing to write the piece, cries for ever agreeing to this, still sends the piece to her mother, cries, is chirpy the next morning, mom calls for more notes about the Svenssons, sends it again to her mom, cries, is chirpy the next morning. Wash, rinse, and repeat.
• Smutty scenes. Lots of them.
• Ummm family dynamics, I guess?
3. The book's resolution/ending. Garett founds out about the exposè through his jealous assistant hell bent on breaking them up. Guess who are her sources? the rag that Penny's mom works for. Her evidence? THE SAMPLE ARTICLE Penny wrote that should be confidential! *gasps* and A CLIP VIDEO of a private meeting where Penny's mom is discussing the exposè *gasps!!* WOW WOW WOW 😮
• Penny's not guilty, she's just crying because she was caught.
• Penny blames the assistant for ruining her life, NOT HER OWN CHOICES. Yes, she's a weakling, right?
• They got back together. Ugh. The way this shit happened is very corny so I won't recount how, but imo, Garett shouldn't have took her back so easily, the mf. HE EVEN APOLOGIZED to her, lmaooooo!
So that's it! Thought this book will have some sort of substance but meh. It's your very generic same old romcom.
