Beyond the Beach House

Rate this book
52-year-old Janelle is desperate to erase the memories of her past... and it starts with selling the beach house she just inherited.

Just days after her mother's death, Janelle is the not-so-proud new owner of a cottage in Siesta Key -- a place that she has absolutely zero desire to return to. When she does, it's even worse than she imagined. Her mother had become a hoarder, and now it's her responsibility to clean up her mother's mess. Again.

Eager to list it fast and move on with her life, Janelle seeks out the help of a grumpy yet handsome local with a reputation for getting things done quickly. But her plans suddenly change when she finds her mother’s hidden journal. It feels like everything she’s ever known could be a lie...

Suddenly, the sun-soaked beach town becomes filled with clues and potential answers. Janelle must make a pretend she never saw the journal, or confront a deep-rooted family secret so big, it was worth taking to the grave.

Adventure, buried truths, and an unlikely love await Janelle in her childhood home. Will she find the answers needed to move on? Or did she just uncover a part of Siesta Key she’ll never escape from?

Entertaining relationships listening 🎶🔰

This kindle e-book novella is from my Kindle Unlimited account book 3 of 6

Stella still does not have answers to her questions but she finds out that she has a half sister. Continued in book 4.

I would recommend this series and author to 👍 readers of romantic family and friends relationships adventure novels 👍🔰. 2024

This book got a little slower and mostly felt like filler content. There were a few more secrets that got revealed and I did love the surprise visit by her friend.

I cannot stand how Janelle has still not opened up some of the stuff she found in her mom's secret move - OPEN IT I NEED TO KNOW.

But it was a short read that left on a cliffhanger - so I picked up the next one once again.

One Question Leads to Another

Wow, what an ending…. well, that is, if you can call it an ending. It’s really a new mystery that could lead to danger. Is there a murderer in the midst? Just what was that Reynolds woman discovering? Makes you wonder if those library ‘break-ins’ hold a clue.

If all this isn’t enough, what is up with Lilly? Supposedly she’s the missing sister… well, half sister. Hmmm, is she really? My very first ‘meet-up’ with her, something just didn’t seem right. Why no DNA test? Are they just going to take her word? Who is she really? What is she up to?

Feelings grow between Marcus and Jenelle. Will he be able to protect her when the heat builds? What about Jenelle’s dad? Why would he abandon his own child when she was only10, and she’s never heard from him since. It certainly makes one wonder what his role is/was in all these mysteries. And is he truly her dad? I keep wondering about the elusive ‘J’…..???

Again, answers to questions only open up new mysteries. Janelle finds a new will hidden under the floorboards but is afraid to read it. What does that will say? Who benefits and who loses? Did Clarissa (mother) know she was in danger and wrote a new will to tell all? Also, if her mother disliked her so much, why keep a sentimental photo book of Jenelle? Seems like there’s more to all this than meets the eye. I still want to know why they wouldn't do the autopsy that Jenelle wanted done... will it reveal death from unnatural cause? If so, who is powerful enough to stop it from happening?

I hope the next book picks up on more answers and less unnecessary filler talk.

So I got my notice that I had book three available for this series and although I do and did have other books I should have read first when a Sage Parker book comes in all other things are put aside.
We find out that Marcus has found Janelle's half sister or thinks he has so he contacted her and told her about Janelle. Well, before anything can be done to get to know her sister she shows up in town and wants to help to go through their mothers things. Of course Janelle is a little hesitant as she doesn't know this person and Dani has been helping to sort things our. Maybe it is alright if she helps to sort books but right not there are still too many mysteries around to let her look through other things.
As they are sorting through the tons of books that her mother had Janelle is learning more and more about her mother, some about her father but nothing of the boy named "J". Also, she just has a funny feeling about this sister as she is pushing to go through more items. I have to tell you, I am not convinced that she is a sister and not someone from the Reynolds family trying to find out things.
Ok, so now waiting for book 4 with anticipation and again letting you know that if you start a saga of Sage's then be prepared to stop what you are doing when the next installment comes in. I love all her books and recommend them to all my friends and associates. Now you too need to find out how wonderful she is if you have not read her stories.

As the mystery continues, Janelle is learning more about mother by going through and reading the things she left behind. Dani is helping her clean out the house and Makus is investigating Janelle’s childhood to see if he can find out information about the secrets. Markus does discover something about Janelle’s family and he wonders if she will act upon it. Join Janelle and the others as they move forward with discovering more secrets. Will Janelle be able to handle the truth and make amends with her past.

Janelle is looking for the half sibling she never knew existed. With Markus’s help, she gets to meet her mother’s first child - but it doesn’t feel the way she expected a sister to feel. There’s more than meets the eye; what is Lilly’s real goal in meeting with her? Meanwhile, is romance blossoming between Dani & Liam? Is there something blooming between Janelle & Markus, or just a deep friendship? The Beyond the Beach House series is intriguing and will keep you coming back.

I don't trust Lily. I highly believe she is up to something sinister and may not really be Janelle's actual half sister. Maybe she is and maybe she isn't.... time will tell. I love Markus, Dani, and Liam. They are funny and will protect Janelle any day of the week. This series gets better and better with every book. On to the next book in this series!.

Janelle and Dani continue going through the house and uncover more books and questions. Markus inadvertently brings Janelle's half sister, Lilly to town and the girls struggle getting to know one another. Meanwhile, Janelle and Markus seem to be getting closer and are unwilling to acknowledge it. More unanswered questions.

Getting better with each book we read and there are more questions arising with every page. We meet Lilly who is Janelle’s half sister but I wonder exactly what her story is and whether she is genuinely nice or just after something from Janelle. Let’s hope we get some answers in the next book because the intrigue is off the charts.

This series is so intriguing! I have been enjoying the real characters and their relationships. We're getting into the thick of things with Janelle still searching for answers about her Mother and now there is a half sister in the mix. Never a dull moment in a Sage Parker book. Looking forward to the next book.

Beyond The Beach House, Book 3, continues the story of Janelle, Markus, Dani and Liam. Dani and Liam are becoming closer. Markus brings Janelle the information she requested about her half-sibling. Janelle meets Lilly but feels unsure about her after her interactions. The book ends in a cliffhanger with a teaser leading to Book 4.

I liked Dani and Janelle’s friendship. There was a sense of joy at seeing her friend again that I could fully identify with. I didn’t find Siesta Key very atmospheric as a place unfortunately, and the writing was a little slow.I enjoyed discovering what was in the boxes in the house, but the plot was predictable.

Thanks to Sage Parker

Beyond The Beach House Book Three was a slower read than books 1and 2. The author seems to be dragging her feet to let the story events unfold. I am hoping that book 4 will be more suspenseful and entertaining.

I have conflicting feelings on this episode. There's new stuff from Markus on her half-sibling. Will she read the info? Dani is staying around to support her and to get acquainted with Liam. I think Janelle should read the legal documents she's found sooner then later. We'll see what the next book brings.

So, Janelle has a half-sister, Lilly, that Marcus was able to find. She is arriving.......today!!!!
After their first meeting, they schedule a second for the next day, but Lilly keeps texting and rescheduling due to work???
Janelle has poor Marcus do a little more digging. He thinks Lilly is a realtor and can work remotely????
Things are strange. Is she really who she says she is?

I really enjoy how Janelle keeps discovering new things about her mother. Everything she finds out about her mother is in complete contrast to what she remembers. How is Lilly figuring into her life. This is a great series with many questions to answer.

Questions, Questions, and more questions. Small inroads, more books, who to trust and what do all the clues mean? I’m enjoying peeling this onion. The more we learn, the more questions we have. What will Book 4 reveal?
