What if this princess didn’t wish to leave her tower?Fern liked being alone, tucked away from the rest of the world. People had a way of being so…disappointing.
But when a viscount knocks at her door, he makes her an offer she can hardly refuse. Help him gain revenge on her evil stepsister, the very one who chased her into the tower, and he’d give her the means to pursue any future Fern wished.
It was the perfect solution except for one detail. Leaving meant facing the demons of her past. And as attraction crackles between her and her new partner, the Viscount with a vendetta of his own, and a million reasons to double cross her, she has to decide, is the adventure worth the risk?
And what if all her reasons for hiding away from the world turned out to be exactly right?
So this is my 100th book by Tammy Andresen. Yes, I said 100. I have been reading her since 2017. I obviously consider her a favorite.
Not sure how I felt about this book. So from book 1 in this series I've read about 275 books and from the last book I've read at least 100 books. With that being said, the way this book started off, I was a bit lost on what was going on. It read like it was picking up where another story dropped off but I don't remember so was a bit lost. I almost felt like you would need read the whole series back to back. I also felt no chemistry between Fern and Ash. They were rather boring. Story was also a bit blah. Just a weird read.
4.5 Stars Fern & her sister Ella were badly treated by their stepmother & stepsister now Ella is happily married & Fern likes being alone, tucked away from the rest of the world in a tower on her brother in laws estate. But then Viscount Bancroft arrives, Ash had been kidnapped & seeks revenge & he makes Fern an offer she can hardly refuse. Help him gain revenge on her evil stepsister. The fourth book in the series & whilst its easily read on its own we have met both Ash & Fern in earlier books. I loved the chemistry between the couple & how their close attraction helped them face their insecurities & start move forward. There are secrets, surprises & of course love in this delightful romance, I thoroughly enjoyed it My review is for a special copy I voluntarily read
I usually like this author, her stories are quick and fun and steamy, and while I don’t like that she never has any epilogues, I normally overlook it because the stories are cute.
However this one was a real let down as they never consummate their relationship. I’m reading romance for the feelz AND the steam, and a romance where the only spicy bit is some oral just doesn’t do it.
This definitely wasn’t worth the time and money I spent on it.
Safe. Hero’s past isn’t mentioned at all. Heroine is, presumably, a virgin but they don’t have a first time so it’s not explicit. No ow/om, no cheating or sharing. Unsatisfactory ending.
The fourth story in the All That Glitters, I would have to say that to date this was my favorite in the series. Each of the covers are beautiful, I look forward to seeing each new one. This is Ash and Fern are two broken people who have the same villain they want revenge against. A well written story that held my interest as these two worked toward a happy ending with the ups and downs they go through. The story is well worth reading. I received a copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Enjoyable read with some great dialogue and a very good story. As always it’s well written by Tammy and it keeps you interested throughout. Ella and Fern we’ve seen before in previous books and Ash is a bit of a sweet but firm character. Very good read
I received an Arc copy of this book and chose to post this review
Romantic, whimsical, and a little bit suspenseful, as both Fern and Ash have darkness in their lives that needs to be overcome. Determined to discover the origins of the man who had captured and imprisoned him on a ship, Ash knows that the key to his search lies with Fern and her sister, but how he will extract that information without giving himself away may be more difficult than he anticipated. Bent on revenge, Ash is surprised to find that despite the abuse Fern suffered at the hands of her stepmother and sister, she has learned that vengeful thoughts will only harm her and not bring her peace. Unfortunately, half-truths and lies of omission have a habit of making themselves known and when confronted with Ash's motives, Fern experiences deep betrayal and a sense of abandonment. Having survived being kidnapped and kept a prisoner, Ash has become a stronger person and he is determined to show Fern his true feelings and to prove his worth to her. Ultimately, the criminals receive their just deserts and Ash and Fern experience the freedom they both long for. I received a copy of this well-written romance as a gift and this is my honest and voluntary review.
The Viscount To Avoid. My fellow readers I present to you a charming tale about two sisters and a Lord whose pursuits are to only live a happy life. Erica and Fern are two lovely sisters who clearly learned how to deal with the ugliness of the world. Fern is the one who I think has matured a lot of the months. Erica may have the mother protectiveness, but it’s Fern who I think that will handle the bad apples who makes their way to the sisters quiet home. Thank God Eric is there. Ash meets the sisters with intentions that are not so clear. The romance between Fern and Ash is cute. The story with these to allows the story to be so charming and beautiful. Both Ash and Ferns story are in some ways similar. The tragic events inflicted upon them is so emotional. Their story really pulls at your heart strings. I loved the writing and the very funny and entertaining events that involved a wicked stepsister who deserves a little punch. I know that she will not ask about that Tiara again. I give this book two snaps and a twist. Until next time my fellow readers. Read on!
This is a shorter read that I read in one day, and it starts out and pulls you into the story almost immediately. Fern and her sister has had a difficult life, even though her sister is now married, and Fern is living on their estate. She escapes to a old tower on the property that she is away from people with her books. Enter Ash, a Viscount that has been kept captive for months and is out for revenge, knowing that Fern’s stepsister and her husband are responsible, so when he visits his friend and brother-in-law to Fern, he hopes to be able to locate the stepsister and husband for revenge. But when he meets Fern…
There is danger, romance and a lot of things will come to pass pretty fast in this book and Fern will come out of her shell and help Ash to heal. This is a good read from this author, and I’m a bit disappointed that the series is over, but this is a good series for historical romance lovers and this author never disappoints.
4.5 Stars ~~~ The Viscount to Avoid is a captivating historical romance that blends fairy tale elements with a dash of revenge. The author creates a vivid contrast between the isolated and lonely life of Fern, the heroine, and the adventurous and daring exploits of Ash, the hero. The chemistry between them is undeniable, but they also have to overcome their own fears and insecurities, as well as the schemes of their enemies. The book is well-written, engaging, and full of twists and turns. Fans of Tammy Andresen will enjoy this latest installment in the All That Glitters series, and newcomers will find it easy to follow along. The Viscount to Avoid is a delightful and satisfying read for anyone who loves a good happily ever after. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader's Copy of this book; all thoughts and opinions are my own.
This is the 4th book in the series. It is about Fern who was mentioned in a previous book and Ash who was also mentioned in a previous book, but I don’t believe in the same book. Ash wants to get revenge on a pirate who kept him prisoner on his ship. He finds out the pirate is married to Fern’s stepsister, so he goes to Fern to help him. Fern, because of the trauma she has been through, does not trust anyone. In this book, the criminal man and woman get what is coming to them, which is very nice. I will say this was not my favorite out of the books in the series, but it was still wonderful. Tammy Andresen is an excellent author and I enjoy all her books. I received an ARC of this book, and I am leaving my honest opinion.
Fern and Ash both have dark pasts. When they meet, they are dealing with the abuse they have suffered. Fern just wants to be left alone. Ash wants revenge against his captor. They come to like each other, talk to each other, begin to fall in love and trust. However, Ash has a secret that may ruin the progress they have made. This story, and both the main characters, touches your heart. The villains are truly despicable; they show no remorse. Will they get their comeuppance? There are challenges and disappointments, a twist or two, attitude changes, and a charming romance. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
Fern and Ella now both have their stories! And they are beautifully entwined, as sisters should be. Fern needs support as she emerges from her shell of abuse and neglect. Ash comes along, looking for information and eventually revenge, but instead finds Fern, who gives him the support he needs to overcome his past. A great story of loyalty, support and love.
I received a free copy of this book from the author. The thoughts and opinions are my own.
Two broken people, both characters from separate, previous books, searching for peace in two different ways. They both have escaped captivity but Ash wants revenge and Fern wants to hide in her tower. This is an emotional story that is written in a way that you can feel their pain. Two people who fit from the start.
A story of two broken people who meet and provide the support each needs to get over their pasts. The book is as always very well written, quick paced and engaging. Lots of twists and turns keep you turning the pages. I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
Loved it! Although Fern didn't really 'avoid Ash, the Viscount'. She seemed to like him from the off. Melisandre, Fern's stepsister, got her comeuppance in the end. A good story as ever from this author! 5☆
Fern is learning to stand on her own after years of tyranny by a stepmother and stepsister. But that lesson comes with a threat to her life and a handsome hero to help her.
I agree with Fern. Reading is a great way to escape. Takes you away from your troubles. This book was a sweet and funny story. Hopefully more to come.📚😍💥📚😍💥
