that was very sweet and adorable. lovely read !! highly recommend if you are searching for soft characters with difficult backgrounds fitting perfectly with one another !
I originally read this manga online (incomplete ver) and felt so-so about the plot because of ヤンキー/不良 teenagers that like to fight and get in trouble… Then I bought the physical book from the Taiwan publisher and carefully read it two more times. My personal rating has risen to 4 stars because I like these kind of heartwarming teenage love stories, such as Amamiya sensei’s previous work 我們的後續 and the latest work 在午後的綠意裡相會 on Darling+ magazine.
The seme 桂十和 is the quiet older twin brother who always got confused by others with his loud younger twin brother 桂大和 (who later bleached his hair). They are from a loving single parent family with a kind mom, although their dad passed away when they were only five, they also have an older brother who is a police and fulfilled the father figure as he’s older by 10 years.
The uke 一色満 is a beautiful but troubled boy also from a single parent family, with a hostess mom and never met his own dad. Due to the busy night time work the mom only left him money and didn’t accompany him growing up in the empty home. He joined the current gang “G•GOLD” because the leader Gorilla bro gave him a place to belong in middle school and invited him into his own family.
The uke was lectured by the twins’ elder brother when he was in junior high school and had long hair. He easily differentiated the seme and told his crew to not mess with the wrong brother and beat them up for it. The seme kept on getting into trouble because of his younger twin brother picking fights with the crew, he even fired from the cafe he was working at because the crew revenged and trashed the place…
Anyway enough with the fighting part, the underlying theme is the seme provided the warmth and care that uke never had, the seme saved the uke by stopping the fight with the nightclub staff who came to uke’s home and brought him back home to stay over the night. The uke recognized the seme as an individual with distinct personality from his twin brother so he can stop feeling inferior through endless comparisons.
Their chemistry is quite sweet and their relationship develops naturally, once they started dating the seme protects the uke and gives him plenty of security.
Główni bohaterowie sq świetni, a kreska istnie p-r-z-e-p-i-e-k-n-a, zwłaszcza oczy. Pokazują tyle emocji, coś niesamowitego. Nie mogło zabraknąć bólu i słodko-gorzkich momentów. Sam tytuł czytałam dobre trzy razy, tak bardzo mi się spodobał 🤍
If I gave .75 stars - I don’t - this would’ve gotten 3.75 stars. It doesn’t cut me deep enough to get a four but I’d be doing this book a disservice if I gave it a three.
I don’t think I had enough time with this story to develop enough of a bond to feel deeply and appreciate this highly, which is a shame, because I think this could’ve been it.
There’s this undercurrent of warm sadness that I want to be obsessed with. The art is stunning, and lends greatly to the vibes the author wants to go with. I just wish they took a longer time to finish this story out; maybe a double volume would’ve been nicer.
I LOVED the twins, Yamato(?) maybe a troublemaker but he loves his brother, the vibes of their family is so homey and i would’ve loved to see more of it - which I think would’ve also helped in a more efficient storytelling of Mitsuki(?)’s lonely upbringing.
I’m definitely gonna be on a lookout for the author’s future releases.
So beautiful, so tender. A beautiful read. I'm glad I read it on pride month. The cover is marvelous. I feel warm just looking at it, even just reading this story. Such a good read 💞
Our main character, Towa, has a recurring problem: everyone keeps mistaking him with his twin brother, Yamato. The Katsura brothers couldn't be more different personality-wise. Towa is the eldest; he's quiet and keeps to himself, whileas Yamato is always picking fights and getting into trouble. Enter Mitsuru, a delinquent, who for some strange reason, seems to be able to differentiate between the two of them. His reasoning? Yamato looks like an idiot, but Towa only looks like a moron. 😭
The art, as well as the story, is absolutely outstanding. I love Mitsuru. 10/10
Just typical Amamiya sensei's works. Short, good, warm, and beautiful. I always love the why how Amamiya sensei write short story but it's all packed with life meaning, cute lovey dovey relationship, and beautiful art. Like- how the things going so well with just the simple meeting. There's nothing to be complain about, i just like them. But it's going to be more interesting if the other twin also has his own story.
