Five years ago, I royally screwed up, lied, and broke the heart of the woman I love.
A sane man would buy her a nice present and grovel.
Guess I must be crazy.
I love Meg more than anything.
So why am I running against her for mayor of Harrogate?
Meghan
That lying, scheming, son of a *bleep!*
He handed me a bouquet, smirked, and asked if I liked having his hands on my flower petals.
Next thing I know, I’m homeless and penniless, and Hunter’s trying to steal my job!
After imploding my life five years ago, I swore I was going to get over him - which is kind of hard in a small town, where he’s schmoozing people at every meeting and somehow crashing all my dates.
I love my town, and care about the people in it.
I’ve been the de facto mayor since I moved back.
And I’m not letting some entitled billionaire waltz in and take my job.
Hunter might think he’s going to win - after all, he is the most eligible bachelor in our small town, with his washboard abs, billions, and fast cars.
All the women want him.
Except me.
Nope. No way. I swear.
All’s fair in love and small town politics
I’m not going down without a fight.
I know Hunter’s still hung up on me.
A low-cut top and a push-up bra, and he’s a drooling idiot at the first debate.
The election is as good as mine.
As long as I don’t let Hunter and his panty-melting promises of - ahem - stress relief distract me.
I’m going to win this mayoral race.
As long as I remember not to lose my heart.
This standalone, full-length romantic comedy has no cliffhangers but does have a swoon-worthy HEA! It features plenty of steam, the largest selection of hot brothers to ever grace your ears, and second-chance romance that is long overdue!
Author Note: There is a prequel novella to this book, After His Peonies, which you may want to listen to first, but it is not absolutely necessary!
I accidentally read the last book first, so I started with the first and am currently on the second, and I've discovered all these books are the same essentially. And I'm fine with that. Maybe, because I'm on the autism spectrum, but there is something to be said for an author who finds a formula that works and can change it up enough to keep the stories interesting. I really enjoyed this one to be honest. I like the enemies to lovers, second chance romance aspect of it more than the others.
If you like enemies to lovers, second chance romances with a lot of sex scenes, this is probably for you.
These two are so tiresome. We waited years for them to get their act together and they BARELY managed even here. Yeah yeah yeah "I have to take care of my siblings" - guess what they will all be grown and gone and where will you two numbskulls be? And seriously what happened to the whole line of Walter's wife that screwed over Hunter and Meg's relationship in the first place. Maybe it's been so long but seems like he should have done a lot more groveling about that. And why did we need that bitch Karen back- she should have never have been let out past book one. And while I'm complaining Ida was funny in the first couple of books but now more than a half dozen into the Svensson brothers she is not funny just insane.
The romance between Hunter and Meg was okay. I think the main reason I could not get into the book was for one reason it was too drawn out. Everything took over 100 pages to resolve. This novel could have just been 300 pages and it would have been better. This book was like over 200 pages too long. I enjoyed the romance, but the whole miscommunication and back and forth was somewhat annoying. I think people would like lots of angst would have enjoyed it. It was sadly just not for me. Despite this, I have read other books in the series and they are really good. Just because this book wasn't my favorite and dragged on, which by any means it wasn't terrible. The book was decent. I highly recommend you check out other books by this author. This one was just a miss for me.
Meg and Hunter a second chance romance and a wonderful HEA! by Happy-Girl
I love Alina Jacobs and her fantastic world full of arrogant, naughty, and funny male characters! And Hunter Svensson is the best! This book is full of humor, irony, a lot of laughter, craziness, and a bit of drama. Meg met Hunter and fell in love because he is arrogant and handsome, intelligent, caring, and hot! She felt he's her soulmate. He understands her love for flowers, peonies in particular, but he lied, and they broke up. Now, after five years, Hunter decides it's time to conquer Meg again, against all odds, and there are some! Meet Hunter with his large family (all brothers) and his unconditional love for his brothers and the sisters he didn't know yet. Meet Meg, with her sisters and the crazy town where she's the deputy Mayor! Meet Hunter and Meg running for Mayor of Harrogate! One against the other, with a sizzling passion between them. This book is one to cherish, and after you read it, you'll look for the others of the series. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Did I miss the story of Greg and Belle? I know that this is Meg and Hunter's book but we all know that they were inevitable. I enjoyed the cult aspect. The mayoral race was funny. I was excited about more Crawford, the teen drama, and Remy. Kind of annoyed by Hazel, I feel like she was very immature in this book. Also the money aspect hurt my brain. These are billionaires who can buy yachts, designer clothes, and rock 2 million dollar watches but not secure decent housing????
Also and I will always say this despite the fact that this is all fiction but why does everyone suffer from trust and communication issues and believe the antagonist so easily?? How hard would it have been to pull out a phone and confront your so called love? Especially Meg who dealt with Sadie's "kidnap" drama. *hard eyeroll*
Lastly I'm curious how much the other guys are telling their significant others. Women talk and in the real world someone's girlfriend would have had an opinion and/or told Meg what was up.
There is a lot going on in this book. Between everything that happened between Meg and Hunter to break them apart in the first place and everything going on around them now, it’s a bit like they live in the middle of a three-ring circus. Her sisters. His brothers. The town busybodies. Friends and enemies alike. Everyone seems to have a stake in their relationship. I love that this story kept me laughing. It’s zany and kooky, and beyond over-the-top. Likewise, it dives deep into the Svensson and Loring family dramas. I also really enjoyed getting answers to some of the smaller plotlines that have been introduced through the series. And this has opened up several new avenues of discovery, to the point that I can’t wait to see where the author takes us next. I received a complimentary advanced copy of this book through Booksprout.
Hunter and Meg have a history that fell apart five years ago. Now they are back in the same town and both are running for Mayor. The characters are strong with history and emotions. The romance is on a roller coaster ride as first one leaves, then the other over time. Think they are going to stay together now though. Laughed a lot while reading this story and loved the crazy situations they get into. Family can be very bad or very good and his one brother needs a slap upside the head. Loved the final story in the series and loved the ending. Well done.

What sort of hero here been portrayed? Like seriously he is such an arrogant pig. And why did she apologize and was heart broken like seriously? Manipulation at its finest. I gave two stars because of the cute brothers and joke. Highly disappointed and agitated.
The first ever book i have ever DNF'ed. I tried so hard to finish this because i wanted to know their HEA, but the story is really really REALLY dragging, resulting for it being tiresome.
The MMC in second novella did something out of his character which would be, supposed to be, earned points for forgiveness, but the FMC was an insecure yet self-righteous b!tch, and she knew that she made a mistake but didn't act on it because, well, she's self-righteous.
Then came the third and this book and they were both like some kind of horny and vengeful teenagers, like they both weren't aged 30-something lawyers.
MMC wanted to be the hero but continuously making stupid decisions after stupid decisions in the guise of things being complicated. Like, just tell the TRUTH bro. Because in the end, that's what she's going to know one way or another.
The FMC is such a tiresome, pretentious, self-righteous, insecure, rambling, indecisive, horny, pity-me-i-was-hurt-a-few-years-ago-by-the-man-i-still-love woman. She wanted the MMC to pay for his "stupid actions", but she couldn't and didn't do anything when her great uncle slaundered their family's money. She's a lawyer FFS. She should've taken care of that pig uncle of theirs as soon as she's legally capable to fight for her and her sisters' to their money. That could've ended their lifelong financial suffering. AND SHE'S RUNS FOR MAYORAL POSITION WHEN SHE WASN'T EVEN ABLE TO TAKE CARE OF HER AND HER SISTERS' SITUATION. SHE COULD'VE TAKEN HER PIG UNCLE TO COURT!!
Like i said, she's so self-righteous that she let her great uncle treat them as such begging for scraps of THEIR money but couldn't, for the life of me, let the MMC explain his side of the story after all those years ago but she's still fantasizing about him and couldn't get enough of his attention. Such a drama-loving FMC.

I’ve wanted to read Meg and Hunter’s book from the moment it was clear in In Her Candy Jar that they were going to end up together. Classic me, it was some time before I got here, but it was worth the wait and while I had wanted their book to be right after that first one, it really couldn’t have ended with any other Harrogate Svensson brother and heroine than Hunter and Meg. I’ve had a total ball catching up and binging this series and while I’m so happy everyone’s gotten their HEA (except for Remy, but I just saw that he is getting his book, so I’ll be over here waiting for it to come out), it’s a little bittersweet to be officially done with this series. I love it so much and I really loved After Her Flower Petals too!
I had my frustrations, Meg and Hunter, especially Hunter, were irksome at times, but I wouldn’t have wanted this book to go any other way. It answered all of the questions I had and it wrapped up so well. It was fun, humorous, roll your eyes crazy, and full of heart and care. Hunter and Meg have so much care and love to give, they’re absolutely perfect for each other. I’m beyond happy they finally got their happy ending — it was amazing and I can’t wait to move onto other Svensson brothers’ books!
After Her Flower Petals is the seventh book in The Svensson Brothers series and is another funny, flirty and fabulous story. This time it is Meg and Hunter's turn, well really second turn, to fall in love. They had been a couple five years ago and ever since then Hunter has wanted Meg again, but without any luck. This bad boy billionaire may finally have a chance to prove to the sweet and lovely beauty just how right they could be together if she only gave him a chance. What makes it funny is that he keeps messing up when he decides to run against her as Mayor. Before you know it it is almost like a great episode of I Love Lucy with these two. This is a well written and very enjoyable and entertaining book. The story-line is nicely plotted with some drama, family, romance, flirting, emotion, humor and more. The characters are both charming and very entertaining in their own ways. I will admit that I do so some swooning over Hunter but who can blame me with all that charm he has.
I received a copy of this book for my honest review. My opinions are all my own.
I kind of loved this story. It was entertaining and enjoyable with a few exceptions. The characters were interesting and likable for the most part. There were several characters that I didn't like and some of them got some comeuppance but others didn't. Maybe they will get their comeuppance in a later book. All of these books are interconnected but standalone and can be read in any order. Meg and Hunter were a train wreck. They are both frazzled, overworked, and underappreciated. Hunter is busy trying to wrangle all of his little brothers. Meg is busy running the city and taking care of her younger sisters too. They are both control freaks and neither wants to share or give up that control. Hunter FINALLY gets Meg to give him a chance to have a real relationship and move things forward. There is plenty of drama and angst but that brings all of the feels to the story. I spent a good portion of my time laughing while reading this. I loved their happy ever after but I do wish there was an epilogue further out. I recommend reading this book.

I am so happy that finally Meg and Hunter got their happily ever after. The road was still pretty bumpy to get there though. The whole mayor race thing was funny most of the time. I laughed so much when Meg kept on doing things to distract Hunter. I love how Alina brings some of her other characters back into the other stories. It was great reading about Kate, I always liked her and Megs friendship. Just like with some of her other books there are too many sex scenes, the book is so long but if half of the sex scenes would be shortened or cut out the book would be regular length. I know not many people will agree with me but that is okay. I love reading about the little brothers, I smile every time. I actually got a little worried about Hunter and Meg during part of this book, I wasn’t sure how things would be resolved. As usual the ending was perfect, I always love how the author ends her stories. In one part Hunter keeps making the most adorable flower puns and I just swooned. I am so excited for the next book, I love these books so much.
Oddly the story never fully explained why Meg and Hunter broke off their original relationship. Hunter had been trying to repair it for a long time. Meg wanted nothing to do with him after he hurt her. From what I could tell it had to do with his family. He has his brothers to raise. She has her sisters to raise. We know about Hunters family. We learn nothing about why Meg is raising three sisters or what happened to her parents. We do know her great uncle embezzled all the money he could from Meg and her sisters. He left Hunter in charge of the finances. He hoped Hunter would pay off the debts he left behind when he fled to Arizona. Leaving Harrodsgate with no mayor and Meg with no home!
I am so disappointed in this book. I was looking forward to it so much and: ugh! Hunter is just awful. Patriarchal and has no respect for Meg. Doesn’t treat her as person and instead tries to run her life. As for Meg: ugh! She’s pathetic. In all the other books I really liked her but in this one: so disappointing.
Honestly, I got half way through and couldn’t keep reading this book is so bad.
Oh my goodness. I need more books in my life like this!!!
Oh my goodness. I need more books in my life like this!!! Seriously, it was amazing!!! It was the perfect romantic comedy (with lots of awesome comedy), with a hilarious characters, the perfect amount of hotness, and the best big family ever!!!! Hilariously amazing, swoonily sweet and just freaking right, After Her Flower Petals is a spectacular story for Megan and Hunter, with many unexpected layers of awesomeness. There is a lot going on in this book and you will get a bit lost if you haven’t read the other books first but I’m 100% percent positive that you will love this book regardless. One of my favorite things about this author is her ability to come up with fresh ideas. I have read so many of her books and every single time I open a book it is going to be different situations and a fresh new take. The things they always have in common is a hot and sexy hero, a strong heroine, a splash of action, all of the feels, and some STRONG FREAKING CHEMISTRY. It was down right dirty in some parts and had me laughing up in others because you cannot help but become invested in these characters. If you can't tell, I totally recommend you reading this. 5 stars from me! Oh, I cannot wait to see what is coming out next, looks to be some crazy shenanigans! :) Happy reading everyone!!
XXX! Adult content, reader discretion advised. First, strongly recommend reading “After His Peonies” first. Second, I really didn’t expect Meg to be such an insecure, bumbling klutz. I’m not going to lie, that was a disappointment. I also thought Hunter would be smarter. In the other books of this series and the Manhattan series he is portrayed as a brilliant, unfeeling, hard a$$. The only thing that is dead to rights is his obsession with Meg. He really did screw up five years prior and was guilty of insider trading. How did he not get caught? Also, why didn’t Danielle end up in prison? Not that Meg’s betrayal isn’t really bad, it’s just after everything he has pulled, all the lies and the number of times he has brought dangerous people into Meg’s life how can he climb up on his high horse and reject her? Hello pot meet kettle. Meg, why would you ever purchase incriminating evidence? Why? They figure something out by the end. I’m just not sure what? Like are they getting married? Not sure. Where are the going to live? Unclear. Why would chicks live inside with them, or more specifically, why would it be necessary for Meg to put foot down on the chickens living inside their home? Confusing!
Expected a little more. Normally I am a great fan of Alina's work and have read several of her books. This novel, however, isn't one that will make my favourite list. Instead of being funny, it was more of a farce. How can anyone have so many brothers as Hunter? Even in a cult, children have mothers. Where were the mothers when the kid's father wanted the older sons to bring up the toddlers away from their mother? If my child was taken from me like that, I would have inflicted serious damage on the perpetrator, as most mothers would have. There were so many brothers as secondary characters in the book that it was really difficult to follow. The entire Mayoral election battle between ex-lovers Meg and Hunter, the billionaire bad boy was far removed from reality. The book was too long to fill it with engaging content. There were many dramatic tension points, some of which did not enhance the storyline. The physical attraction between Meg and Hunter, on the other hand, was very well described and the steamy hot love scenes were well written. The HEA made up for some of the shortcomings.

After Her Flower Petals by Alina Jacobs. Finally, finally, finally! If you have been following this series like I have, then you (like me) have been anxiously awaiting more from Meg and Hunter (or should I say Oil and Water). Anytime these two are around each other you can feel the intensity of emotions and chemistry- I love the quirky they always seem to end up in. And to think it all started with a sandwich! Hunter is really trying to mend fences and get back in Meg’s good graces, his intentions are good, but the plan and execution need work. I’ve read several books by this amazing author and she does such an incredible job creating a story that you just want to keep reading. At times, you become bombarded by all the Svennesons’ but they are charming, alluring, feisty, hot, and funny. The situational comedy had me snickering out loud and routing for the much deserved HEA. As usual, I will be anxiously awaiting the next installment of the Svenneson clan. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I loved this story. It was absolutely hilarious. Every second there was something happening. All the sill events made the book better. The alligator, cat food, crazy siblings, were all amazing. I loved how while there was a lot of randomness, it all tied into the story. That brings me to the main characters. I’m in love with them! They had so many layers. There was so much spark and the chemistry between them was a fire. They were strong, independent, had flaws, and most of all loved each other. This was another incredibly delivered book by Alina!
This story follows Hunter and Meghan. They dated for some time earlier. Hunter messed up and Meghan left him. In the years that came following, he’s been trying to take Meghan. Then comes the election of the mayor. His older brothers force him to go as a candidate. Meghan loves her job as deputy mayor and now that her uncle is out of the picture, it’s her turn to shine. Then comes her past lover being a candidate.

Five years ago, Meg and Hunter had been a couple until Hunter messed it up and ever since has wanted Meg back in his life again. He thinks he may finally get his opportunity to prove to her that they could be so good for each other if she would give him a chance. Yet apparently he is still going to mess it up as he decides to run against her as Mayor. Be ready for the drama as they compete with each other. Hunter has the very best of intentions, but he’s going about it all wrong. Add in the fact that everyone in the town seems to take an interest in the two, and the resulting chaos is terrific. Is there any hope he can get her back despite everything that seems to be pulling them apart?
This is a fun story in an equally fun series. The characters are charming and there is so much chemistry with Meg and Hunter. Grab your copy and see if Hunter can get his plans going in the right direction and win her heart back!

This story is hot enough to set your e reader on fire and funny enough to put the fire out with tears of laughter . If you dont like very naughty hot hunks nor hysterical mishaps and small town " characters " dont read this book. Dirty politics takes on a whole new meaning with this story . Multitudes of brothers, even more disasters and some crazy older ladies (????) I really hope this bears no resemblance to small town American politics but do keep your hanlie ready for the tears ( of laughter ) that will pour down your face . I am assuming there was at least one book before this as several ties previous events are alluded to but it can very easily be read as a stand alone ( but there is no way I am missing the next book )

You'll love Hunter and Megan's story. Talk about a fun read that will also take you on an emotional roller coaster. The chemistry between the two of them is amazing and will definitely add a little steam to your life. So grab a comfy spot and your favorite beverage because once you start you'll find this book hard to put down. This is a small town second chance romance that will warm your heart. No shortage of drama as they run against each other for mayor. He's gorgeous, a billionaire and bad to the bone. She's adorable but almost homeless and he's had the hots for her forever. A great book with no cliffhanger and a happy ever after. The characters are likable and well developed and the story line in entertaining. I read a free book via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to review.
The conclusion to Hunter and Meghan's story is here!! I have been looking forward to their HEA from the very beginning.
They went from falling for each other to enemies, and now they are finally working through everything. That's not to say there isn't drama and new issues that arise.
This is definitely Hunter and Meghan's book, but, of course, we get to see both their families and catch up with favorite characters. It is always fun to see the Svensson brothers.
The author's trademark humor is present in both the dialogue and plot. I often found myself cracking up as I read. This is definitely a satisfying ending to both Hunter and Meghan's story and this series. I can't wait to see where the author goes from here!
Thank you to the author for providing an ARC for an honest review.
You’ll LOL Reading this Romantic Comedy Series This is a great series filled with amazingly written characters. Hunter, of the never ending Svensson brothers, and Meg, Deputy Mayor and whose great-uncle Barry and Mayor of Harrogate stole all her and her sister’s money, are now competing to be Mayor. This in itself would make a wonderful comedy. But, let’s throw in their mutual love/hate relationship, missing sisters from a cult and you can see why this is some eighty odd chapters that go by so quick you can’t believe you read that many chapters. I’m definitely recommending this book and the series for some great reading. You most certainly want this on your reading list. PEACE.

FIVE FULL STARS FOR THE AMAZING CONCLUSION TO MEG AND HUNTER’S LOVE STORY !!! It was absolutely adorable and sosososo funny 😂 I went through so many different emotions; I was laughing and crying and GOSH don’t get me started on Hunter and all the sacrifices that he gave up to be a foster parent to his billion younger siblings. Ugh the scene where he met his younger sisters for the first time *cue the tear works* I absolutely cannot wait to read about the Manhattan Svensson because I KNOW that the Svensson sisters will be giving Greg a hard time 😂 Can’t wait to see them tame the always angry Greg ! Ahhh I love Meg and Hunter so much ❤️ I’m so glad that they got their happily ever after ❤️ until next time !!
Finally! We finally get to see how Hunter and Meg's story ends. Well nothing really seems to end the Svensson Brothers series set in the colorful town of Harrogate. I absolutely love the characters and all of the drama that Meg and Hunter have in their lives. We find Meg and Hunter facing off to see who will become the new mayor of Harrogate. If you have read any of Alina Jacobs books, you know you are in for the comedy hijinxs of the townspeople, and the Svensson brothers. On top of all of the craziness, there is some serious chemistry between Meg and Hunter along with the drama that is trying to pull them apart. Be prepared to laugh, cry and swoon as Hunter and Meg find their way back to each other.
5 STARS for After Her Flower Petals by Alina Jacobs
