I should preface this review by saying I did read the whole series. I’m not going to write individual reviews because I just feels repetitive when my opinion barely changes from book to book. I think this whole series really felt like a fan fiction to a mix of twilight, the vampire diaries and a few others. I did like some of the over all arching story but REALLY struggled with the characters. I didn’t like almost anyone’s whole story arc and did not like the ending of this series.
Also while I do like who she ended up with I hate brother’s being the rival to one girl and felt like the other brother ended up with the worst arc of them all.
A Haven in the Dark: "The Crave Series" as a Sanctuary.
In the labyrinth of life, we often seek solace in the pages of a book. For me, Tracy Wolff’s Crave series was more than just a novel or 6; it was a sanctuary, a refuge from the storm. When the world outside seemed bleak and unforgiving, the world of the Katmere Academy offered a glimmer of hope.
The series, much like The Vampire Diaries, delves into the complexities of immortal existence, love, and loss. However, Crave possesses a unique quality that sets it apart: its ability to create a sense of intimacy and understanding.
Wolff's characters, particularly Grace and her friends, with their authentic and relatable struggles, triumphs, and unwavering bonds, resonated deeply, providing comfort during times of despair.
The world-building, while intricate, is never overwhelming. It’s a world that invites you in a place where you can lose yourself and escape the harsh realities of everyday life. The gothic aesthetic, the supernatural elements, and the friendships forged within its pages combine to create a captivating and addictive experience.
Crave isn’t just a story; it’s an emotion. It’s a feeling of belonging, of being understood, and of finding solace in the darkest of times. It’s a testament to the power of storytelling to heal, to inspire, and to offer a much-needed escape. 5/5 stars ❤️🔥
Crave is the first book in the Crave series and this was just a fantastic way to start off a new series. I was just completely drawn into this world with all of its amazing characters. There was just so much going on with this story you were just constantly learning new things about this world. I can’t wait to see where the author takes this series.
Crush
Crush is the second book in the Crave series and it picks up months after the ending of Crave, the first book in the series. I just loved getting to reenter this world and see what is currently going on. I am just absolutely loving this world. The characters are just so great and I just love that we got to meet some new ones and that a family was formed. There is just so much going on in this story and the ending. Oh my goodness. I can’t wait to see what happens next.
I found this series after finishing Midnight Sun and wanting to continue the story.. As the covers were similar I gave them a try. Loved them. Not crazy about the final book, but the other 5 books were amazing. I immediately re-red them again they were so good.
books 2-5 were fabulous! book 1 read like twilight fanfic to me, which made the book difficult to get through. don’t get me wrong I do love twilight, but wished book 1 didn’t draw as many parallels for me. book 6 was 50/50. overall 5 stars because I would definitely reread books 2-5 and maybe 6.
