Ice A geological event in which ice expands during sudden warm periods and is unable to accommodate the change in volume, causing cracking or booming sounds.
43-year-old Lenora Wexler is the conservative CEO of The Wexler-Grahmme Group in the Tampa Bay area of Florida, a cold—yet kind—and guarded butch with a painful past. Because of the damaging trauma she has suffered at her ex-wife's hands, she’s sworn she will never, EVER get involved with another woman again. Femmes are too catty, too selfish, and too unkind—in her experience—and they aren’t worth the risk to her heart.
40-year-old Willow St. James is the new business analyst and developer at Wexler-Grahmme, a brilliant, quirky femme with a fondness for Chuck Taylor sneakers and eclectic clothing. Her unconventional life includes a kooky nonbinary barista roommate with lavender hair named Rebel, a pet chinchilla named Drip, and a tabby cat with a shoelace fascination named Glitch. Len’s best friend and business partner, Beck Grahmme—who is also the chief operating officer of Wexler-Grahmme and Willow’s new boss—is convinced Len only needs to spend a little bit of time with Willow and Rebel in “Chaos Central” to see that not all femmes are the same.
When a sneaky corporate thief raises their ugly head in an embezzlement scheme, Willow draws upon her formidable analysis skills to help Len and Beck identify and capture the thief. But Willow's heart has been breaking—because she's fallen in love with the handsome CEO, who is encased in such a thick layer of ice, Willow despairs of ever getting through to her.
Until, of course, an ice quake strikes and turns all of their worlds completely upside down. Oh, the things that make you go Boom .
Tiffany E. Taylor lives with her spouse and their daughter in an idyllic little west-central Florida coastal town called Gulfport where the sapphic invasion is in full force.
She writes spicy, sensual romance fiction within the passionate butch/femme dynamic in a variety of genres: romantic suspense, 40+ midlife, paranormal romance, and erotica. The Taylor's belong to the butch/femme community of which she writes about so passionately.
Two butches, two femmes, a bit of suspense, a chinchilla and an unusual cat. Put this all together and you have an amazing story. I loved how slightly different this book was from the author’s other books. And again she has a gift for creating the perfect pairing. Len just rocked my butch loving heart. Actually I fell in love with all the characters, except with the two bitches. But that goes without saying, what a hell-cats! I can highly recommend Ice Quake.
5 ★ | Ticked all my boxes. Vengeful ex. Ice queen. One and only bugbear. Repetition of the words butch and femme. Unnecessary. We get it. That aside. When a book is this good, I can see no wrong. Turned a blind eye. Beautifully crafted romance. Can’t and won’t ask for more.
A well earned 5*, unusual for a Novella (self proclaimed and longer than most!) A real feel good story with a bit of angst to add pepper to the mix. Loved the chit chat between the two sets of best friends. Recommended.
I liked it at first, but the story is so rushed, characters don’t even have time to be fleshed out, they fall in love rather quickly without much interaction or effort, which I suppose happens in some books, I liked a lot of it, but the use of “butch” and “femme” unironically made me cringe hard, and by the final chapter I just wanted to stop reading, I guess this book just isn’t for me.
Awesome descriptions of the butch/femme characters! Lovely tension between them as well. Ugh the slow burn was nice nice nice lol. Loved the cat and chinchilla too! Great, fairly quick read!
Wonderful story and characters! Tiffany writes great characters that engage the reader and keep the pages turning. I love the bad peeps she creates, especially since they always get smashed... too bad that doesn't happen in real life.
Holly hell!I initially got this because the cover lead me to believe it would be a sapphic short story action read which I love and the reviews all said it was good but i don't know what everyone is thinking that has rated this high!first of all there was barely any interaction between the two mains, then they immediately fell in love and dont get me started on how many times they used the words bitch and Business Analyst oh and the whole title about ice quakes is barely mentioned which is very misleading since no actual massive quaking happened. The whole thing could of been great but was so so disconnected.
About office wars, super cute Femmes and Femme Witches with a capital "B", Ice Butches and ultimately love!
A colorful mix of different characters comes together. Super Sweet Femme – Willow meets Icy Butch “Len”. Paradise Bird "Rebel", Willow's best friend, meets the extremely charming, handsome Butch "Beck", Len's best friend and partner in the company. There are many other characters and they all round off this super sweet romance in their own way. One thing I have to say: Sybille and Ione have continuously kept my hatred and my desire to kill them! Of course there's a lot of talking shop - it's an office romance after all, but everything is kept within limits and, in my opinion, understandable. The butch/femme dynamic is of course in the foreground and anyone who likes delicious butches in books who worship their sweet femmes and vice versa will get their money's worth here!
A quick yet exciting pleasure and as the icing on the cake there are two incredibly sweet and lovable pets of a rather unusual kind...😍
Tiffany E. Taylor Ice Quake: A Butch/Femme Ice Butch Romantic Suspense Arc New Release
Tiffany E. Taylor never fails to captivate me with her compelling and resilient characters. She has earned her place among my favorite authors, and her book "One More Chance" easily lands in my top five favorites.
Filled with love, excitement, and unforgettable tales, this book is an absolute gem.
Lenora, a woman whose heart had been shattered by her ex-wife, had sworn off romantic entanglements. But against her better judgment, she couldn't ignore the deep connection she felt with Willow. The story unfolded impeccably, with well-developed plotlines and a cast of supporting characters that only enhanced Taylor's incredible storytelling prowess.
Once again, Taylor weaves a beautiful narrative of healing and the pursuit of love. I am immensely grateful to the author for sharing this advanced reader copy with me. It is always an absolute pleasure to immerse myself in her stories.
this book was not good, and I wrote a whole review about it and then Goodreads crashed. Basically, I have many thoughts, but overall there was just way too much going on here and this should not be considered a romance book at all. there was no actual romance even mentioned between the two main characters until literally the last 20 pages and in those 20 pages they confessed love and moved in together. Also, I think the femme hatred portrayed in this story is quite honestly harmful and should not be treated as lightly as it is. Making every femme except one vengeful, manipulative, and evil was a choice, and it wasn’t a good one! Should have DNFd and I regret wasting 2 hours of my life reading this.
How can I give this any less than 5 stars? I can't! This was a delightful read and had me chuckling to myself more than once. I also may have shed a few tears but thankfully that was short-lived. Tiffany's characters are so well developed and the story just pulls you in. There are moments I felt I was in the office/ room with them. Do yourself a favor and make sure you read this one!
I liked the characters in the story. Lenora and Willow are two different people and when Willow comes to work for Lenora's company as an analyst, she makes quite an impression on everyone. Lenora is not ready for a relationship and Willow is not Lenora's type. This is a Butch/Femme story and is an enjoyable read. I recommend this book for romance readers.
3 stars. Eh, I didn’t like the characters and I wasn’t feeling the chemistry between Len and Willow. The romance didn’t do it for me and they said “I love you” to each other way too fast for me to believe it. The writing was good and it’s a quick read hence the three stars but definitely not a favorite from this author for me.
Choose this one for the 'Unusual Pet' trope (Jae's Sapphic Book Bingo, Hidden Gems) and managed to about 75%. I am sure there is an avid audience for Tiffany E. Taylor's books, but I am not one of them. Tried to read two more previously and I'm really having problems with the overtly Butch/Femme trope. Not for me, thanks.
I loved the characters they were all great. I only have a 4 as it was to short. Some of it felt very rushed. But I loved the concept and think it should be expanded. I’d love to continue reading more about them.
Whew, Tiffany E Taylor can create some awesome butches and equally strong femmes. I wish this book was longer because it felt way too short. I look forward to more books by this author and will continue to follow her.
I read pretty much anything written by this author. This story does not disappoint. The characters are great and the story is wonderful. Short and easy to read.
The eccentric woman takes the jackpot in this exciting love story. In the corporate world, some people may appear real and even attractive but in the end, they are the worst. Revealing their schemes can prove worth it.
I really, really enjoyed this story. I love it when the quirky, intelligent individual(s), who don't believe they have a chance with someone like Len or Beck actually get them, both. Awesome romance!!
Loved this book read it in two days, (obviously working inbetween) I just couldn't put it down. The characters are amazing and the storyline is gripping, fast paced and never ever boring. I would definitely recommend this book.
Brilliant, loved this book, have set up a 'shelf' on my kindle fire as plan to purchase further, if not all her books, thanks Tiffany expect to enjoy the rest as much
I am not much of a romance dyke, so this book isn't something I usually read. I was looking for more of nature's drama from the title to cover. The writer drew me into the story with wonderful characters. So four stars it is for this sweet, living romance.
A fantastic book about finding love after life has thrown obstacles your way. A book full of quirky and fun characters with a great sense of humour. Give this book a go! You won’t regret it! ❤️
I loved all the characters and how each ones personality came through. I also loved the butch/femme delineation and how it played out in the story. I would recommend this to anyone in the LGBTQI .
I originally rated this highly but upon a reread I am disappointed in myself. The descriptions of characters are odd and the dialog between characters is stilted and unnatural... please don't trauma dump on your boss on the first day of work.
I really do love the way Tiffany writes her butches and femmes. Len and Beck are strong, loving butches. I adore Willow and her chaos house lol Beautiful love story ❤️
Tiffany E Taylor doesn't disappoint with this book! I loved ice butch Len. Then you have the sweet Willow. Len and Willow are the perfect couple. I hope Tiffany will write more ice butch characters.
The best thing is the love of friends who have know and loved each other for years. Their differences make them ablesupport each in finding their true loves.
