The level of obsession I have with this series is probably unhealthy and toxic. Am I sorry? Not even a little!
After the jaw dropping cliffhanger in book one, I was desperate to get my hands on this book. DESPERATE. Relentless starts off immediately where Merciless left off but with a few plot twists thrown in.
The first half of this book, I binged. I was desperate for answers. I also swore on all things holy that if we get more edging with Reid and Alana, I may chuck my kindle at the wall. And well, RIP, kindle. You've had a good life. But I digress.
The second installment of the series was a bit more slower paced than book one, which I devoured. There isn't much that happens with the story outside of the development of the inner workings of the relationship between Alana, JD, Reid, and Mav. Mav and Alana discover that Reid isn't the enemy they thought he was. But outside of the developing sexual relationship with Mav and Alana, and the further development of JD and Alana, along with hints of Reid's attraction to Alana, not much else happens. Now don't get me wrong, it was still entertaining. But I just didn't devour it like I did book one. Also considering the build up, I anticipated a slightly more painful cliffy. But I can't complain since the wait for book three is painful enough as it is.
I will say that if Alana and Reid don't bump uglies in book three, I'm going on strike. Call my union rep, because this is torture! TORTURE. But I digress again.
I enjoyed this one, and while it may not have been as much as book one, it was still entertaining and deliciously depraved. Can't wait for the next book!

I thought Mav was going to be my favourite ‘boyfriend’ in Harrow Creek but JD steeling the show. This series has me and I can’t wait for more. Give it to me now!!
Merciless is the start of the Why Chose mind tease and you need to read that before Relentless.
We get more Mav this time and he really is the husband we already thought he was. How will the new dynamics work in the Mav, JD and Reid hotness?

Relentless is the second book in the Harrow Creek Hawks Series, and this is a series that must be read in the order that it has been released as it is an ongoing story with cliffhangers. This book picks up shortly after book one ends and has you wondering what happened: is Maverick okay? It was only for a little while, but my heart was in my throat, wondering how badly he was hurt.
I enjoyed this read; although it didn't have nearly as much as the action the first book did, we do get a lot of character growth and many steamy scenes. I felt that character growth was needed for them to move on together, especially since Reid and Mav dislike one another so much. Do they forgive and forget? You'll have to read the book to find out why they were at odds.

This continues where we last left off with Mav finally locating his missing wife but unfortunately for him, he's currently occupying Alana's vacant cell down in the basement. It's also very obvious that JD has fallen deeply for Alana but with her husband being back on the scene this leaves Reid worried about JD's demons resurfacing. Reid himself is still keeping Alana at a distance though he has softened somewhat and the full truth regarding Alana's secrets is now finally out in the open.
With everyone laying their cards on the table things are starting to come together in the fight to take down Victor and Mav with JD's enthusiastic assistance is overcoming his block on any physical intimacy with his wife. When this finished things were definitely looking dicey and also slightly uncertain so I'm looking forward to jumping straight into the next book to see where we go from here
This edition dialed up the heat yet again and this had plenty of sizzling chemistry and tension and though not everyone's on the same page regarding feelings yet you can see it all starting to come together.

Merciless was a captivating introduction to the Harrow Creek Hawks’ world, and while this was another hit to feed my Harrow Creek Hawks addiction, I wasn’t prepared for the emotional toll Relentless would take on me.
As an obsessive fangirl of Lorraine’s for a few years, when I open one of her books, I will be as much of a hostage as those in Reid’s basement, and yet, Relentless is unequivocally the absolute most ALL-CONSUMING (second) book of a series I’ve ever read. I’m not even sure I can pinpoint any one element; it’s everything: the mindfuckery of the story itself, the dynamics between the guys, the connection Alana shares with each of them, and the way the emotions seep through the pages, making words spoken in anger feel like daggers across your heart. That’s not even touching on the steam factor; this is by far the hottest book I’ve read this year.
Lorraine instilled a uniqueness to the character dynamics with Alana, Mav, JD, and Reid that has securely placed Harrow Creek Hawks as my absolute favorite “why choose”.
Relentless delves much deeper into the emotional aspects of the feeling they have for not only Alana but also their own feelings about what’s developing between them. Lorraine ALWAYS delivers dark, angsty, alpha-hole perfection, but when you multiply it by 3, you get the ultimate reason to choose romance.
I love that all the guys are navigating their own thoughts and feelings about their attraction or feelings towards Alana, while Mav has a lot more to contend with when it comes to Reid and JD. It adds such an interesting spin to the dynamics, and I can’t get enough.
I love the strength Alana continues to show, even when she feels the opposite on the inside. She continuously proves that she may have been knocked down far too many times, but she will always get back on her feet. She has a spine of steel, revenge in her heart, fire in her eyes, and three men who have begun to soothe different parts of her battered soul.
Reid is one stubborn fucker. The tension between him and Alana has been intense from the start, but holy hell, the two of them are going to combust, and the odds are more likely that on every page they will leave a trail of ashes in their wake. These two have to be the most epically intense yet devastatingly slow (ish) burns that ever existed.
Maverick and Alana’s connection started years ago, but with recent developments, their world has been tilted toward its access. The love they share never wavers, and with every interaction, the tension in Maverick becomes more palpable. He’s held back for years, and his restraint is as close to snapping as Reid’s.
JD stole my heart with his charming personality, but the darkness that lurks in his eyes and a few comments here and there have me as scared as I am intrigued. I think whatever shadow he has lurking is the reason that he and Alana were immediately drawn to one another. Sure, the physical attraction was there, but there was always more to it than that.
Of course, there’s a lot more going on in the story; there are moves being made, enemies joining forces, answers being given, and others being kept, but these are things you need to find out on your own. I love that Lorraine doesn’t make it seem as though the story is dragging on just because her duets, trilogies, or series are all that long because she brings these intricate storylines and complex characters to life. Her words serve a purpose whether you know it at the time or not, and I am not even slightly exaggerating when I say that every book she writes is better than the last.
Relentless is dark romance heaven, or would it be hell? Reid, JD, and Maverick are the epitome of why there’s such a need to choose romance books. We definitely get a lot deeper with these characters in Relentless. Also we find out how quickly the dynamics between the four of them are changing, and it’s rather quickly. I love that Alana has so much power over these men and she’s coming to know just how strong and badass she truly is.
My heart broke for all of them. You definitely get all the emotions with them. I laughed, cried and got super angry!
I can’t wait to see when they all get the revenge and more importantly when they all admit their feelings. The world will burn and I’m ready for it.
Tracy is the queen of cliffhangers and she knows exactly what to say to put you in a head spin!
I need a cross over with the Hawks and Knights, so badly!!

Still fully hooked on this series! After the last books cliffhanger, I needed to know what happened next, and thank God I didn't have to wait long between releases to find out! But yet again, this cliffhanger has me begging to see where things go! The dynamic of the 3 guys is definitely unconventional. Do I love them all? Yes! Is there 1 of them that I can't stop thinking about? Yes! MF REID HARRIS has my full attention!!!! The spice level definitely was bumped up in this one 🤌🏻 *chef's kiss* Can't wait for book 3!!

Oh man this series just keeps getting better and better with each book!! These men are everything!!! Mav is the sweetest I just love him so much. JD is such a littler pot stirrer and I am here for it. He knows just how to push these characters into doing exactly what they want but are too afraid to approach on their own. And Reid is the alphahole everyone loves. Alana is such a strong fmc even after everything she’s endured. This book had me on the edge of my seat especially with that cliffhanger at the end 🤯 I couldn’t get enough of this book. I can’t wait for Book 3 in the series!!

Man it just keeps getting better and better! Jd is slowly creeping up on Reid as being a top favorite of mine!!! 5 stars and the spice is chefs kiss as always! And that cliffhanger ugh Tracy sure knows how to but that book hanger over on ya

THIS BOOK... THESE BOYS... Jesus Christ.. It has been a while since a book has knocked me on the ass the way this has and I AM LOVING IT! Alana is one lucky girl! lol. This series is addictive as hell but I should expect nothing less from Tracy. She truly is a master of her craft and can tell an epic story that you never want to end.
I'm so in love with Mav, JD and Reid and their connect with Alana. As the series progresses so does their dynamic. It just gets stronger. I can't wait to see where the author goes in the next book. All I know is that I NEED it ASAP!!

Picking up where things left off, when Alana wakes up, it’s not exactly where she expected to find herself. Overhearing the guys, has Alana pushing them away, but with chains fading and everything changing within her growing cage, it’s time for her to decide what she wants for once.
With the way things ended with a BANG in the last book - I was more than ready to dive back into this dark world with the Harrow Hawks; and now I’ve finished this book, I DON’T WANT TO LEAVE. I need the next book like yesterday.
I didn’t expect anything this book gave me, I had my ideas, my theories but NOPE I was always wrong - from the cliffy in the last book to every moment after that, I was on the tips of my toes and the edge of my seat.
Getting a deeper insight to each character had me obsessing over them all the more,
I might have started this series for the promise of dark spice (which it definitely fulfilled 😏) but I’m eager for more because this story has me by my fictional balls, it’s got me in its grip with my heart on the chopping block and I wouldn’t change a thing.

Relentless is the second book in Tracy Lorrines Harrow Creek Hawks series. Its not as dark as book one was but it also was alot more steamier. Alana, JD, Mav and Reid are a combination of people I didnt think could work that well, even if Reid still hasnt admitted his feelings for Alana.
That ending though!!! Gosh I cant wait for the next book in this series!

Oh. My. God.
I didnt think anything could surpass Merciless, the first book, but I was soooo wrong.
You guys.. this has got to be one of my absolute fave books of the entire year. Tracy has always been a one-click author for me.. the angst she writes is just SO good and im always riveted to my screen reading her books. But these? Ive legit bought the physical copies of them already despite getting an ARC for both books. They are THAT good.
Can we just talk abotu the guys for a second? JD was EVERYTHING. He was just… gah. SO hot.
We def got more Max this time… and im super interested to see how things progress with him and the other two guys.
Alana is KILLER. She totally has the power here. It was gradual but she is such an amazing woman.. strong and badass!
AND REID?!?! Jesus.. hes still my fave. Idc I think im obsessed with him.
Tracy does such an amazing job with her cliffhangers. Even though i have total cliffy PTSD (thanks Caroline Peckham and Susanne Valenti lmao), I knew the cliffy’s were coming in these books but I couldnt stop reading. The good news is— Tracy is releasing the books like a 3-4 weeks apart so you dont have to wait months to find out what happens.. and she does such an amazing job with the cliffhangers. Theyre not there just for shock value- when the story picks up they actually tie in so well and it makes them even worse (in the best way possible LOL)
The spice has definitely gone up in this book and I AM HERE FOR IT. I can not WAIT for book 3… these characters are just freaking everything and im so lucky I get to devour them all like this!

Picking up from where Merciless left off, we dive back into the world that belongs to the Hawks of Harrow Creek. Still being held somewhat captive by Reid and JD, Alana finds herself with no option but to reveal her dark and torturous past to the pair.
Reid and Alana’s chemistry continues to sizzle just under the surface. The tension between the pair is so undeniable, you just know it’s going to be explosive when they give in. Now so they finally get together in this book? I’m not going to say, you’ll just have to read it and find out for yourself.
In this book we see another side of the happy and mischievous JD. This one is much darker and it’s obvious he has been battling his own demons, my heart broke for him so many times I’m this book.
We see so much more of Mav in this book. I loved how a little time apart from Alana and some not so subtle nudges from JD helped him man up and finally make some moves on his wife.
Tracy has written another excellent read full of spice and all things dark and nice. Once again this ends on a cliffhanger that will leave you wanting to scream in despair, and in all honesty if I hadn’t finished the book in the middle of the night with my husband asleep in bed next to me I would have screamed.
I am fully invested in this series now and I am not so patiently waiting for the next instalment to be released to see what happens next. As always please remember this is a dark why choose romance and there are some heavy topics discussed in the book so please ensure you check the content warnings.

Book two of The Harrow Creek series and oh man, I need more!
Have to admit - I'm so glad this is why-choose because I honestly don't think I could!!
Reid is this mysterious, lethal vault that oozes danger and death yet he could have you dropping to your knees with one look.
And the way he looks out for JD has me melting! He has a heart, it may be kinda black but it's there and I love him for it!
JD is fun! He has this aura that makes you feel good. He's funny, he's hot, very vocal and again, will have you dropping to your knees. But that boy has demons, my heart hurts for him and I have a feeling that when we find out more, I will split!
Mav, Alana's husband has spent 5years protecting her and he is so freaking yum! He def has mighty strong will-power because Alana is pure sin - even when she doesn't mean to be! But he stepped up in a way that I doubt many others could and I adore him for it but I'm also excited to see him finally properly give in - 🤤🤤🤤
And then we have Alana, that girl has endured things that will just smash your lil heart into smithereens, I don't think she really realises how strong a person she actually is, and yes she knows she's attractive but I don't think she realises that there's something inner she has that is truly beautiful, and she definitely doesn't realise how big a hold she has on these three gangsters!
But note - this ends on a cliffhanger and

OMFG! This story just keeps getting better and more intense as the build up to taking down Victor and all of the wickedness and corruption, slowly starts to happen. I was on the edge of my seat once again, but I have no fingernails left to bite on, and my heart won’t stop racing. The anxiety this series is giving me is sure to kill at some point!
Alana, damn girl, she has some serious itches that need to be scratched. And these bad boys, JD and Maverick, are more than willing to help her scratch them, except it does take Maverick a bit longer to do so!
Reid does have a lot more work to do, but you can slowly see how Alana is making his walls crumble. I can’t wait to see how epic and panty explosive their first moment together is going to be!
There is less action in this part of the story but there is a whole lot of character growth, some forgiveness and a hell of lot of deliciously steamy moments between all of them that I just couldn’t get enough of.
The story is filled with emotional turmoil, angst, drama, anger, forgiveness, passion and an all-consuming love that none of these amazing characters will be able to deny!
With another tough and emotional ending, I am really not sure what is going to happen now! But I can’t wait to find out!

This is book #2 in the Harrow Creek Hawks Series and it picks right up from where book 1 ended, you must read these books in order. OMG!!!! The cliffhangers from these book will have you desperate desperate desperate for the run the series.
This series is a reverse harem, dark romance, captive romance forced proximity, he falls first with bully romance vibes that is a must read.
This book delves much deeper into each of these characters and its a real gripping read. Each of the guys are different in their own way, JD is such a joker and Reid is still mega stubborn and Mav is the protector. They've all been through so much and each of them including bad ass Alana are all fighting there own demons. During this book we get to see more of the guys and more of Reid, who's still my favourite by the way. But the connection between them all is getting stronger by the minute and I can't wait to see how these guys get the revenge they desperately need.
This series will literally have you on the edge of your seat biting your nails down to little stubs the suspense will grip you and it's full of twists is very angsty and a lot of steam. This world this author has created is absolutely fantastic and it flows perfectly from book 1- book 2 and once I started reading this book I couldn't put it down.
I highly recommend this series to everyone

Tracy has penned another addictive series and one I’m obsessed with! I love the characters the suspense is so good and the drama is just delicious that ending left me dying for the next book and I can’t wait to get my hands on it! Loved it!

Ahhhh. I hate that we don’t have the other books already, I NEED to know what happens!!!
Where to even begin… so I absolutely love love love JD, he’s so funny and he’s such a softy yet he can kill you with his bare hands. Now Reid is a little more closed off but damn that man. 🥵 Even when he’s condescending and mean, he can still get it.
I enjoyed how Maverick was more apart of the story this time. I did feel bad for both him and Alana but I love them together in all honesty.
These books are a little slower paced but I feel like they’re worth it because the last half of each book keeps you sucked in so much.
I can’t wait for the next books!

THIS SERIES JUST KEEPS GETTING BETTER AND BETTER!
I loved that we got to see how all of Alana’s men were going to deal with being under the same roof.
These guys are all sinfully delicious and I couldn’t help but devour every single dirty word that fell from their lips!
I liked that in this book we delved a bit deeper into everyone’s lives.
Tracy really knows how to hook you in & keep you coming back for more. She spins a tale so beautifully heartbreaking and you can’t help but root for the characters form of vigilante justice.
& now the guys..
Though Alana has Mav’s last name, he has a lot of feelings he needs to come to terms with and not much time to do so.
I think JD might just be my favorite of the men. He knows how to drag Alana from the depths of her nightmares and cheer her up. My heart can’t help but break for JD and how the darkness in his eyes matches the darkness in Alana’s.
& then we have Reid, the ruthless head of the operations who is way more than everyone gives him credit for. Him & Alana give us ALL of the angst and tension but I can tell they’re a breath away from breaking and giving into their deepest desires.

There’s no question that all of the men care for Alana and want to do right by her, but will they be able to figure out their issues before it’s too late?

This series has me stressed out, pissed off, and out of breath..and like a fiend, i have to immediately start book 3 bc these cliffhangers have me in a chokehold.
Quick thoughts from book 2:
1. Alana's coochie is magical and i am absolutely jealous of a fictional character.
2. Mav has me yelling at my kindle but i also want to curl up in his arms *cries*
3. Reed gets me so angry and i just know some epic hate sex is coming in book 3
4. JD is really just a pervy golden retriever who kinda makes me wanna seek out a man with a jacob's ladder
5. Every audiobook should be produced with a full cast and in duet form, bc after listening to these, all others will be mid at best.

Well, holy hotness, the spice in this book is OFF.THE.CHARTS.
Alana is one lucky girl. However, im finding it hard to like her. I know she has been through hell and all, but the way she is treating Mav is making it hard for me to relate to her. At the beginning of the book, she has sex with JD, and the is all shit my husband...... maybe you should have thought about that first 🤔.
Anyhoo, despite all of that, I actually really enjoyed the book. JD is a precious sweetheart, and nothing will ever change my mind about that, no matter what badass gangster shit he does!! Mav is so protective of Alana that you can't not love him, and Reid...... that man just needs to give in 🤣 join the party, my friend!!
The cliffhanger in this book isn't as dramatic as book 1, but it is still a WTF is going on moment!
I'm so ready for the next two books. I can just tell that this is where the non-stop action is going to start and where all of the boys touch her and die instincts will well and truly kick in.

Ok, so I thought Merciless was spicy, but omg the spice in Relentless was just *chef's kiss* Especially since we got to more of the why choose action we were promised. And oh boy, we finally meet Mav for real, and he is 🥵🥵 Honestly, the whole dynamic between the four of them is just amazing. Tracy's writing really just grabs you and doesn't let go - whether it's the smut or the plot. If you were worried that Relentless wouldn't live up to the first book in this series, you have nothing to worry about.
Ok, I have to go somehow distract myself for a month before Lawless comes out because this group has my heart and I need to know what's going to happen to them.

Will bringing down Victor & the rest of the Elders finally bring a truce to the next generation??? Will the outliers come together or turn their backs out of fear??? & what about JD & his mental health??? That man is a ticking time bomb just waiting to explode…& I’m here for all of it
Then of course we finally get to witness Mavericks awakening…it took long enough!!! We get a lot more of him this time around…I’m just not sure how it’s all going to shake out in book 3…

Get ready for a wild ride with your favorite devil Reid, his best friend JD and their enemy Maverick. It all centers on Alana and her three guys. You keep learning more about JD past, more about what Alana has endured as a child. All what Reid has plans for and the help he is willing to get from Maverick. All while all four of them try to navigate this new dynamic. I love to see how Alana can hold her own. I can’t wait to see what will happens next. These books keep getting better and better, this book is building up to some amazing things I know I can’t wait to read. We get more backstory to all our characters which we know will be important for later.
The moment I was waiting for finally happened. The tension between Alana and Mave has to have a breaking point. I think so far my favourite is JD. I know?! I'm surprised too because this is mostly Reid's story, But I have a feeling the next two books will change my mind and Reid will retake the top spot. I can't wait for more and definitely after the cliffhanger i have some questions.

Book 2 in the series - which must be read in order to!
This book picks right up where book 1 ends and I was back being sucked in immediately!
We get more information about the situation, the people, the secrets. Still not all of it tho, and I kept reading and reading and had a hard time putting the book down! And then: bam! The end. I need book 3 please 😬

Just when I think I’ve read enough that I can predict Tracy and her stories…I’m completely blindsided and blown away! I love this crew of characters!
Relentless is book two in the why choose, dark romance world for the Harrow Creek Hawks. Maverick, Alana, JD, and Reid absolutely bring the heat and the angst to this book! Mav is still my favorite and will always be mine, but these guys all have their qualities. There is so much drama happening in this world that you are on the edge of your seat. This was easily a five star read for me and I am so ready to see what Tracy delivers next with this group!
I definitely am wanting more of this world and these characters. I need answers! I definitely recommend this book and this series for all to read! You must read Merciless first.
