"If I can’t have her love, I'll take her hate."

PRINCE ZIRETH

Once, we’d promised each other forever. But then I destroyed her world and scattered her people across the galaxy. It’s no surprise she tried to kill me. Twice.

For the past seven years, every action I have taken, every lie I have lived has been to earn her forgiveness. Now I’m with her again, fighting by her side. But instead of love, when she looks at me there is only hatred.

One day, she might forgive me, but as our fight to free my people escalates into a hopeless battle, I know that my time is running out. Althea might live to fight another day, but it looks as if I will pay the price for my betrayal.

Corrupted Mate is a standalone sci-fi romance in the Infinite Unions series. It has an alien MMC who would do anything for her, a fire brand alien FMC, enemies to lovers for days, Klingon and Star Trek but SPICY vibes, and whole lot more. See authors website for content warnings.

ARC review - received book from author.
Oh. My. God. This book was such a wild and intense ride and worth every second.
Zireth was an anti-hero with a checkered past (and present) who had to make impossible and horrible decisions throughout the book. Althea was fierce, loyal, and utterly emotionally broken by the tragedy in her life and the lives of her people. Both were dedicated to their causes and sometimes unable to look past the biases they held. Althea understandably struggles more with her biases than Zireth.
The world building was stellar. Interstellar? Whatever it was, it was elite. It delved into the complexities of nations clashing, dictators ruling ruthlessly, and genocide without pulling punches.
I sobbed more than once while reading this book and had to pause for a bit to recover from a particularly rough section. But it was worth every tear.

Spice: 4.5/5

Triggers: genocide, murder, torture, violence, gore, rape (off page, side characters), drugging, trafficking, near death experiences, crash, references to abuse, PTSD flashbacks, panic attacks, suicidal ideation, slavery, grief

Between the epic universe building, deeply developed characters and plot and the spice I was enchanted. Wow. Trish has such a phenomenal writing style that puts you in the story. Along side the characters and in the action. Althea, our bold and fiercely tough FMC, Zireth, the handsome, charming and deeply misunderstood MMC, this dynamic duo is sure to set your heart ablaze. The two begrudgingly link back up for one more mission. The kicker? They are mates, rejected mates. Oh and he maybe kinda sorta slaughtered her people and planet? Oopsie. As the second book and standalone I was able to jump right in with minimal confusion which I appreciate and took a lot of writing skill because this universe and story is very deep (in the best ways!) The banter and tension have a very delicious payoff around 60% of the way through and trust me- there’s no shortage of spice in the last 40% even with the stellar plot. This was nothing short of amazing and I cannot wait to read the rest of this series.

This is the first book I’ve read where the morally grey MMC does something that leaves me wondering how they will actually make it back to being lovers. Althea is an absolute badass and I loved her POV so much. Prince Zireth is one of my favorite morally grey heroes and this is hands down the BEST enemies to lovers story I’ve ever read. If you’re wanting enemies to lovers where they are actually enemies, there’s some stakes, some history, some trauma, this is the book for you and keep your tissues handy, I SOBBED at least four times. My emotions and heart were not ready for this absolute masterpiece. The spice is 🔥🔥, the romance is heartbreaking, and the world building is immaculate. Not to mention the tease for the next book! I cannot wait!!!

Monster level: Level 2 - Humanesque with some added benefits.
Content Notes: These are neither tropes nor warnings. Sci-fi romance. It doesn’t say fated mates but it feels like it.
Content/Trigger Warnings/Enticements: On author’s website.

I received an advanced reader copy of this book, and this is my voluntary, honest review.

Quote: Because I’m here to steal from her. Because I have never built anything, I’ve only ever destroyed. And I’ll do the same to her.

Zireth is on a mission to keep a weapon out of his family’s hands, and then he meets Althea. And then he fluffs up and she hates him. It’s delicious.

Trish Heinrich had me by the optic nerve for this entire story. In both eyes. I stopped only to scream at my friends about the immaculate vibes before I plunged back in and didn’t come up for air. And that early part, when it appears to be going so well, you know what’s going to happen. It does. And it just keeps getting better.

This book had me capslocking at my Reylo friends. Some of them don’t even read sci-fi. That didn’t stop me.

“Corrupted Mate” by Trish Heinrich

4⭐️/5⭐️
4🌶/5🌶

“Althea was every dream I’d ever dared to have for myself. She was the home I’d searched for my entire life and I’d do anything to protect her.”

-This book is if you took an angry Reylo dynamic and combined it with Star Trek, so obviously I enjoyed the heck out of it. Gosh, there were so many layers and events in this story, it really is an epic science fiction romance. I can’t say I’ve ever read a sci-fi romance series like the Infinite Unions series by Trish Heinrich, it’s completely unique compared to the majority of alien romances available to readers. That’s to say, it scratches an itch that’s been plaguing me ever since I started reading romance books: epic science fiction stories told in the same vein as Star Trek.

-There are many parallels that may or may not be intentional to certain Star Trek races, there’s enough ambiguity that one can say “well I picture Althea as an Andorian” (because of the hair), or “I picture Althea as a Bajoran” (because of the spiritual component). And I love that both are valid! You can see how much the author respects Star Trek in the way she created her own set of characters, alien races, settings, politics, etc. This series is the best homage to the broader science fiction genre.

-I loved that the main story is prefaced by a novella, giving readers vital information about not just Zireth and Althea’s relationship, but the rocky political landscape for the K’Tavi. This novella is necessary reading going into “Corrupted Mate” and cannot be skipped. I went through so many emotions reading the novella itself, it does such a good job pulling you into the story and immediately feeling invested going forward.

-This story isn’t quite enemies to lovers, but I won’t say why for the sake of spoilers. There’s some excellent groveling (it goes on and on, it’s very satisfying), tons of angst and hurt feelings. This is a book that evokes strong feelings based on the hardships each MC faces, both inside the relationship and out.

-The scale of the story is epic, and transverses several settings and environments. You really get a better feel for how large and diverse the universe is in the Infinite Unions series. And again, the author does such a great job setting up the next book in the series!

-I absolutely recommend this book if you are a Reylo fan, a Star Trek fan, or are simply in the mood to read a well written epic sci-fi romance. It’s smutty, angsty, full of action and emotions; this is a book and series you don’t want to miss out on!

***Quick Rundown***

I have so much love for this book and might just love it more than the first, which is saying a lot!! The first book was complete perfection and this one was like icing on the cake!

***Full Review Below***

Where to even start! From the epilogue of Sinful Mate, I was left very eager for this story with knowing that it would be an enemies-to-lovers romance. While this is a thicker book, the first 90 pages or so are made up of a prologue/novella of sorts, that give the back story to the epilogue in Sinful Mates. This part of the book had me in its clutches! Even though I knew what to expect, I still sat in shock and had to phone a friend via bookstagram (thanks Bex!) to talk about it!

I thought the whole transition from this backstory into the meat and potatoes of where our main characters were, was such a seamless and tasteful transition! It was just so well done and I've gotta give the author props for it!👏🏻

Moving onto the story itself, I loved every single thing about! I seriously highlighted so many quotes on Kindle that were just funny, beautiful and/or meaningful. I loved the push and pull between Althea and Zireth. I loved how much he loved her, even though he hid it well from her. This book had so much about healing and growth within it, that just made their romance story all the more powerful. It goes without saying that I loved the fight scenes and spice in this book, but I also loved that our main heroes got their happily ever after! That's not to say that I wasn't sweating bullets and ready to cry towards towards the last major conflict. Legit, I slapped my kindle on my lap and sat in shock before I could read on!😅

That said, everything about this book was perfection! I absolutely loved the epilogue and can't wait until book 3 releases!🙌🏻

Sidenote: I have to add how much I LOVE the cover and how it brings Zireth to life in such a perfect way! Also, the Star Trek/Space vibes continue in this book in the most epic ways! I totally loved it!

I'm sending the biggest thank you to Trish Heinrich for the opportunity to read this book as an ARC! (Sorry my review was a few days late!). My thoughts/opinions are my own. I genuinely LOVE this story!

An alien romance that’s second chance romance and enemies to lovers, a rare combination in the sub-genre and an absolute treat to read.

Althea despises her ex (and herself) for the destruction of her home world. Overcoming the inevitability of her home world’s demise is a key plot point throughout and one of my favorite aspects of the story. Althea both hates and loves Zireth and much of her turmoil is her wrestling with that dichotomy. The author did an excellent job of showcasing Althea’s trauma—her self loathing at feeling like a traitor, her personal responsibility with regards to loss of life and culture, and the way she tries to atone for it via anonymous means of professionally advancing what remains of her people. Her pain and anger consume her to the point that it defines who she is. I relished the anger and fighting skills she girds herself with to stave off anyone from having an advantage over her ever again.

He sacrificed her world to save the many—a decision he’s spent 7 years trying to make up for while understanding it will never be enough, will never erase the travesty of that decision. And it eats at him. Especially because it affected the person he loves most in the world. Good people making hard choices that so acutely alters the state of the known universe is a storyline I flock to—I loved the messiness of it all.

Initially Zireth was harder for me to like. He routinely revels in goading Althea to get a reaction from her eroding any strides he might’ve made. His trusted inner circle’s frustrations for her perspective on Zireth while also not providing proof of his good intentions was perplexing. The pacing slows a bit more than once and I would have loved a little more relationship development but overall I absolutely enjoyed it.

This is an unedited, “I just finished this book and need to immediately scream about my emotions” review. YOU GUYS. I am still vibrating. This might be the best enemies-to-lovers I’ve ever read. The opening novella? An absolute gut-punch that sent my on such a high only to slam my face into a box of tissues. And then to have that followed up by the pure rage of Althea (FMC) and the smug attitude of Zireth (MMC)? DELICIOUS. I. ATE. IT. UP. The anger. The loathing. The all-encompassing guilt. The simultaneous need to avenge and make amends. Yes, the spice spices in this book. But it’s like the cherry on top of everything else. It’s the verbal barrage between these two followed by their physicality/fighting with one another that pushes the story through and is also overwhelmingly HOT.

I absolutely loved Sinful Mate and I can’t believe that this one is EVEN BETTER. Now to patiently (impatiently) wait for the next one.

I received an ARC of this book, this is my honest review.

1,000 Labors of Love – 5 Stars

This is a prequel story that takes place before the rest of the book. I will be reviewing it separately as it’s long enough to be separated on its own. If Trish decides to make it it’s own thing, I will be able to easily transfer this portion of the review there. If not, it will still be able to be seen as it’s own thing.

- Alien/Alien couple
- Soul Mate/True Mate
- Lovers to Enemies
- Klingon vibes
- Knotting
- Mating bite/mark

Zireth has come to this planet on a mission to find a device rumored to be here before his cousin can. His uncle killed his father and took his throne, the people of the K’tavi Empire don’t have a home, instead they travel space conquering planets as they go. That is not the life that Zireth wants for his people. He didn’t expect to find his soul mate on this planet, and he definitely tried his best to resist the call to claim her…

I knew what the outcome of this was going to be considering it’s the same characters as the full novel, but I was still utterly devastated by the ending. I was reading, and hoping that maybe if I believed hard enough it would magically change what Trish had written. Unfortunately, for me and I think every bookworm out there, that’s now how it works and I was still left staring out of my car’s window lingering on the last line of it. Gutted. Just pure and utter sadness.

Corrupted Mate
- Alien/Alien Couple
- Second Chance romance
- Morally gray mmc (in my opinion he fits the bill)
- Enemies to Lovers (Lovers to enemies to lovers really)
- True Mates
- He will burn the universe for her
- She wants to slit his throat
- Star Trek vibes, but smuttier (my new favorite genre of sci-fi romance)
- He never stopping loving her, everything he did was for her
- Knotting
- Ridged
- Cockpocket
- Mating bite/mark
- Mentions of sex slavery, fmc poses as one
- Mentions being drugged, fmc is given an antidote before so it does not effect her

Seven years ago Zireth destroyed his mate's planet, he has spent every credit he has and built up a reputation he hates, all to save her people...and she will never know. Althea hates his guts, so much so that she tried to kill him when she is forced to work with him on a mission. He is the reason she has no home, why her people are refugees and going extinct, she is going to kill him, his cousin and his uncle for what they did.

When I posted on my instagram about reading a book from every author I follow, Trish mentioned she would be opening ARCs for a new alien romance soon to "help" such a tremendously ambitious undertaking. By some stroke of luck, the universe allowed me to actually catch this, and despite not reading book one (yet), I was blessed to be able to read this book early. Am I counting it towards that self-made challenge? Nope, because I am doing it a certain way and I am weird. But this is the first book I have read (not bought, but actually read) by this author and it was an amazing one!

Star Trek has always been a love of mine, and it's one of those things that being a female, it's sort of not something I talk about a lot. I love it but I am not so obsessed with it that I can name every episode and recall in-depth histories and facts, but I have a section of shelf that's dedicated to Star Trek, my first word was "space" because I sat and watched The Next Generation with my mother every week. Star Trek is ingrained into my DNA. So books that are advertised as "Star Trek, but make it smutty" speaks to my very soul! I loved the romance side stories, I wanted Warf and Troi to work and then was devastated when Dax died. The K'Tavi are Klingons, or at least have the essence of what made The Next Generation and DS9 Klingons one of my favorite species. This book was *written* for me, Trish just didn't know it.

Before this turns into a massive essay...I will shut up, but this is a love of mine and finding more and more series that give me that taste of it is amazing to me.

Zireth is what we all love in a MMC; morally grey, basically worships the ground Althea walks on, and would give everything to have her. Althea is a badass, a warrior and still gorgeous because yes, plus she is pocket-sized compared to him. I love that. She could kick his ass, and they aren't afraid to nearly kill each other. It's perfect.

But let me talk to you about the storm scene. Oh. My. God. I think it is the absolute most perfect scene in the entire book. Ugh, I don't want to do the spoiler thing, but I one-thousand percent squealed, out loud, at this scene. The thought of Zireth staring up into the rain and watching the storm is everything. And of course all the things that follow. Chef's kiss. Ten stars. Perfection.

I loved this book. I am looking forward to going back and reading the first one and then of course the next book coming out. I don't know how long the series is going to be but part of me would *kill* for a Sylthor redemption story? Doesn't even have to be a full book. Give me a novella. I will give you all the money.

I loved Corrupted Mate! Rejected fated mates, Althea and Zireth are back together to work on a mission, even though she hates him with a fiery passion. Zireth is the ultimate morally grey character while Althea is our strong badass warrior. The plot was gripping and I enjoyed every second of it. I loved the tension and witty remarks between characters, you could cut the tension with a knife! The spice was unbelievable and oh-so spicy, exactly what we expect from Trish, who’s a wizard with words 💕

Loved, loved, LOVED this book!
I jumped straight into this without having read book 1 of this series, and didn’t feel lost at all, which is a plus because I tend to pick and choose books from a series depending on my mood. This was also my first read from this author and it definitely won’t be the last!

First off, I thought this was a very unique story in that both characters are non-human, and maybe I haven’t read enough alien romance but I feel like the standard we see is human FMC and alien MMC. That changes up a lot of the dynamic in the development of the actual romance IMO, because the fated mates trope is just makes perfect sense! Plus, the FMC isn’t the standard damsel in distress. She can hold her own and doesn’t even need him, but she actively chooses him. Something about that is just so refreshing to see in a romance, even if it is non-human lol

Ok so back to the romance, there is nothing that makes me more feral than hate to love and second chance..and when they’re combined?! It’s game over. I knew this book was a banger before I even finished the prequel portion!

I genuinely relate so hard to Althea. Being burned by someone you love, then doing your best to be strong. Feeling like you can’t afford to be vulnerable anymore, keeping your walls up and impenetrable..it’s exhausting for her but she’s so prideful that it’s worth the pain. Her heart won’t let her close herself off completely though, and we see that little morsel of hope resurface when she and Zireth are forced to interact seven years post deceit.

But this man…THIS MAN! Does he do some shitty things? Kinda. But does he feel such regret to have hurt his one true mate, that he spends those 7 long years silently atoning and pining for her and only ever her? YES!

I can’t get over the emotions this had me feeling..the push and pull, the heartache I felt for these two, it’s truly what I hope to find in every second chance romance, but don’t always obtain. I loved every minute of it!

If you’re not a big fan of alien romance because it can sometimes be too OTT, smut driven, or not enough character development (not my personal feelings but some of the ones I hear about most often)..this is for you! It’s truly exceptional and I can’t wait to go back and read the first book in the series, and the ones to follow!

Seven years ago, Althea had a whirlwind romance with Prince Zireth which ended in an unbreakable mating bond between the two of them. However, Prince Zireth betrayed Althea's people, ending in the destruction of her planet and her people scattered as refugees and slaves. Now, Zireth has approached the GUP and insisted on Althea's help in retrieving a vital technology before his uncle can use it in his deadly conquering of the galaxies. Althea is confident that Zireth is keeping secrets from the GUP, but when she discovers what his secrets are, they challenge the deeply held beliefs she has about him. Can Althea work with the one who broke her heart and terrorized her people without murdering him or losing her heart to him a second time?

Corrupted Mate is a very engaging enemies to lovers romance taking place in a thoroughly realized world. Zireth's goal of overthrowing his uncle and stopping his people's conquering ways constantly causes him to make difficult decisions to ensure the least amount of damage while maintaining the illusion of being the creature his uncle created. His angst and dismay over his actions when there are no possible good outcomes, makes Zireth an extremely interesting and compelling character. Althea's anger, while sometimes overbearing, is understandable as she has never let herself grieve over the loss of her mate and has internalized Zireth's actions as being her fault. As Althea learns more about the truth of Zireth's actions and his motivations, she is forced to confront the foundational beliefs she has had about her planet's destruction and her own guilt.

I typically find enemy to lovers storylines a bit underwhelming, as they tend to either more not really friends rather than enemies enemies, or they flip from enemies to lovers with very little believable motivation. Corrupted Mate does not suffer from either of these pitfalls, as both characters are fighting extremely hard to obtain their objectives and fight their mating bond as much as possible. Trust and forgiveness is hard won, and the overarching goal of overthrowing the K'Tavi leadership continues to keep the tension high. A wonderful science fiction romance well worth reading.

4.5 stars. Zireth, the male alien lead, is the crown prince of his warrior people but he’s also trying to subvert his cruel, evil uncle’s rule. In aid of this goal, he races to a planet to attempt to retrieve an item.

Althea, the female alien (from a different species) lead, is a warrior protector of her people, embedded in the religious order. She’s always wanted to be in a real fight whilst simultaneously being grateful her people are safe. When Zireth lands on her planet, she is rightfully suspicious but horrifically attracted to him. Then he appears to have seduced her for military rather than personal reasons…

Several years later, Althea has been co-opted to assist Zirek in a mission on behalf of the intergalactic order that she works for. Furiously resigned, she’s determined that he will get nothing from her besides her skills and knowledge, certainly not her emotions again!

But Zireth doesn’t expect a lot from her. He loathes himself as much as she does…

This long story is dual POV, well written, and a cleverly constructed, enemies-to-lovers, sci fi romance. I appreciated the fact that this plot had a genuine reason for why the lead characters were enemies. I empathised with both characters’ struggle to handle the soulmate bond they both endured. I enjoyed Althea’s determination to assist people, even though it meant working with her perceived enemy. I enjoyed Zireth’s unavoidable care for Althea, and his attempt to balance his competing priorities. I enjoyed the lead and secondary character interactions, and the development of the overarching plot. I enjoyed the intimate scenes and the depth of emotion both characters felt. I enjoyed the relationship development. I felt empathy for Zireth’s cousin, one lead antagonist.

I received a complimentary copy from the author and this is my voluntary honest review.

What an epic story. Wow.

I had already read the prequel before, so I knew what had happened, but I appreciate that it is included in the book so new readers can understand the deep hurt Althea feels and the level of betrayal and destruction Zireth left in his wake.

The story is full of pain and hurt and a fantastic enemies-to-lovers story. The visceral hate Althea feels is perfectly described. And she is right to feel that hate, I love how she gets to be angry and show her emotions in this book! Her confidence is also something that works so well and I love how she is strong, confident yet vulnerable. She feels very real and amazing.

I also love how Zireth is portrayed and his inner thoughts especially lend him a layer that is unseen by other characters. As readers we are privy to them and they really make him a likeable character, because it makes us root for him. I do not envy him one bit but I was hoping for his redemption the entire book. He has done horrible things and he's forced to make decisions that are not easy and the way he accepts the responsibility is well done. He knows he's beyond redemption (but is he really?).

Theres a lot of worldbuilding in this book and political intrigue that is so well done. It's vast and lush and I felt myself falling deeper into it chapter by chapter. The beginning might feel like a lot but it does get easier as we learn more and start to understand everything. I love how the plot reveals worked in this book and each of them worked to enhance the plot and the romance. A fantastic story that packs an absolute punch.

When I tell you this book is so good, from the beginning it kept me captivated in this world full of sci-fi, politics, alien royalty, romance, and spice. This book truly has it all—an exquisite plot. We encounter a story of our two characters from the very start, something quite melancholic with everything that happens in that prequel before the current timeline begins. It truly leaves you with your heart in your hand due to all the events, but at the same time, Heinrich's writing style and approach completely captivate you. This book had me on the verge of tears due to the beauty and sadness of some events, especially Zireth; that man can give you the entire galaxy at your feet, and there's nothing he wouldn't do for Althea. Both characters are explosive; the desire between them wreaks havoc wherever they go. They're fierce in many aspects, particularly their commitment to each other's well-being. Althea, OMG, this character is flawless; she's strong, brave, capable, and a total badass. Incredibly strong after what happened to her people, she is remarkably loyal to her own, I adored her attitude throughout the book; the intensity she possesses within was outstanding. And let's not forget the steamy scenes; wow, they're truly passionate in bed. I admire the way the scenes are depicted.

The world-building is perfect; it enveloped me in an incredible sci-fi world. I felt like I was watching a movie in my mind with all the descriptions, the world, the plot. I was astonished by this world, and now I can't wait to read the next one.

What I have come to expect from a Trish Heinrich book is great world building, plenty of action with detailed fight scenes, nerdy tech stuff that belongs in epic sci-fi movies, characters that are interesting and some smoking hot spice. This book brought all of that and was action from start to finish.

I have never understood why guys being a “simp” was a bad thing. Like, oh wow you’re so in love with someone that you’d do anything for them and love making sure your partner knows how you feel? What a loser! Anyway, that rant was just a prelude to me saying that I loved how obsessed Zireth was with Althea. Boy went out of his way for like a decade to right the wrongs of the past and all with the thought that he wouldn’t be around to enjoy it once it was done. Him sobbing with relief had me all in my feels and I love a MMC who’s not afraid to cry.

I liked the first book, but I liked this even better. Next one, please. Oh and if (like me) you’re wondering if you need to read the prequel novella before starting the actual book… yes, yes you do.

Thank you to the author for access to this ARC.

PRINCE ZIRETH is a K'Tavi. He is his tribe's hope to overcome his uncle. He learned of a weapon that could potentially destroy a planet. He needs to get it before his uncle does. Now he is on Boethelian to find the weapon. As he is wandering he comes upon a garden with a female attending it. When he stays quiet she turns and attacks.
Althea is a warrior and well trained. She is not intimidated by him. She doesn't tell him her name but he calls her enoshtov, which is a furry little creature that is deadly. She sees him again later with her High Mother with his companions, Xenovis and Varnok.
The "weapon"is found. It is destroyed to keep it out of his uncle's hands. But in doing so the planet is dying. Now decisions must be made and quickly. Will his Althea ever forgive him for his part? Will they succeed in saving as many as they can?
A story that can bring a tear to the eye. But filled with battle.

“I do want you,” my voice was harsh, jagged. “I want your body, your warrior’s heart. I want your fire to warm my cold soul until I don’t feel like a monster anymore. I want all of you. And I’m terrified that if I have you, I’ll destroy you. I couldn’t live with myself if I did that.”

Loved this book a lot more than the first. I devoured it, reading any second I would have free. Loved that this was no Damsel in Distress, I love an h that's confident and empowered. What I enjoyed most about this book was that the H respected the fighting spirit of the h and accepted her as a true equal. Zireth and Althea's love story is one of war, sacrifice, guilt, remorse, hope, pain and a beautiful example of consent. The love scenes were not only steamy but well placed in the plot and added to the story.

I'm am so so sorry for taking too long to review this book, but my lord it was AMAZING!!!

When I read the prequel to this book I was in a complete chokehold at the ending. I actually threw my pillow across the room because of the ending and I needed more. Getting back into these characters was like a warm hug. They went from strangers to friends..ish to lovers to enemies (only on her side) then back to lovers.

The development of these characters were great. I will have to say there were times where I wanted to slap the FMC because she was so stuck in her head and unwilling to see or listen.

The MMC.....he will always hold a special place in my heart. The last few chapters I had either cried from sadness or happiness. And let me not forget the spice because it was SPICY!!

This was an absolutely fantastic read for me.

This book slayed me. It was heartbreakingly beautiful.

We start off with a novella that gives us the history of Zireth and Althea. We get to see their whirlwind romance and their fast downfall.

Then we get into the juicy bits of the main book. I couldn’t put my book down! I was screaming at the characters, crying, threatening to throw my kindle…. It was a whole thing. But I also got to laugh and swoon.

It’s action packed and full of all kinds of curious people. Sweet romantic moments along with heart ripping angsty moments.

This lovers to enemies to lovers will have you on a rollercoaster of feelings, but it also gives us some delicious spice. Nothing too kinky, but absolutely not bland either.

Part of this was a Romeo/Juliette story, but things turned lethal and the couple became enemies, then enemies that had to work together to survive. I love Althea's fiery nature. She was ready to end her partner if not for the fact they had a mission to save lives. Family betrayals and the loss of dear friends was gutwrenching. What will happen to the on again off again relationship of Althea and Zireth??? The descriptions of people and costumes added greatly to a positive reading experience for me. It was vastly enhanced. Jax's story next sounds compelling. Can't wait. I voluntarily read a free copy of this book provided by book sirens and am giving an honest opinion.

Oof, this might be my favorite lovers - to enemies- back to lovers ever.
Again worth mentioning this authors work is definitely storyline driven with smut sprinkled throughout. I loved that this book started with a bit of a prequel so we truly understand how it all started, it’s larger than the first book but definitely worth the time!
The author has fantastic skills regarding race/world building, I was continually impressed by the description in fight/battle scenes and the creativity of everything.

Can definitely be read as a standalone but when the story is this good I’d recommend reading them in order for a full picture.

I loved reading this. This adds to the world more and love that it does bring up Kier and Chloe from the first book with a small update. This was a fun read and the tension between Zireth and Althea was so good. It was fun to see how much they’ve grown from the beginning to the end. I do recommend reading the prequel to get understand why they became enemies.

I highly recommend reading this series! I can’t wait till book three comes out! I received an advance review copy for free, and I am leaving this review voluntarily.

I believe is this my first alien 👽 on alien 👾 romance read and I was immediately hooked. The passion for each other, for their home and their people was just beautiful, it’s beyond words. The instant love and lust created by the mating bond between Althea and Zireth was intense and I was all for it.

This was my first read from Heinrich, this galactic world with different species of aliens and humans is one I definitely enjoyed and can’t wait to read more of.

I was hooked from page one , the passion between Althea and Zireth was undeniably from the start and the betrayal by Zireth hurt my soul.

Finding each other again and coming together toward a common goal although Althea carried so much hate and hurt in her heart, awhile Zireth was hurting from longing and broken heart 💔 literally was devastating beautiful to experience.

The mate chase was hot hot hot. And all the different sexy parts from these aliens were 🔥🔥🔥. We all love a good knot 🪢😉. And the tail play ☄️☄️☄️🥰. No words!!!

I can’t wait for the next installment of this series Forbidden Mate and I already added Sinful mate books 1 in the Infinite Unions series.
