He finally caught up. I never should have made that deal.

One moment of pain and despair, one moment where I thought my world was going to end. That I would lose him. Would you trade your soul for someone you loved? I did.

It didn't go as planned and now I'm stuck serving a demon for eternity. At least he thought so...

After finding a way to escape my service, I'm on the run. Taking his most valuable possession with me. I live in constant fear of being found. No one has ever escaped the devil before so he will come for me. I have to be ready, one way or another.

2024:
It was so great to get back to Morgan and her crazy going-ons. Hundreds of years have passed since she made her deal and sealed her fate. Or so it seemed.
It was great watching Morgan operate in a century with modern technology and ideals.
The years have clearly hardened her into a no nonsense taking, sarcastic, fast witted woman who isn't afraid of a challenge.
Reading this story felt somewhat like a puzzle, trying to work out where all the pieces fit in the time we haven't seen. I can't wait to see how the full picture comes together and where Morgan's story ends up.

Having just finished the prequel novella, I knew this book was going to be good before I started it and I was not wrong! This book was fantastic and although the prequel gave you an insight into what had happened to Morgan many centuries ago, you could read this one without it as there's enough background information in it for it to all make sense.

Morgan has been living in hiding for many many years, staying off the radar, so her former boss cannot find her. But when a friend needs her help dealing with some missing teenagers and a demon making deals, she thinks it is time to run once more. But she can't leave the kids to their fate, not when she hears about a group called The Hunters. Surely it can't be the same one from all those years ago, can it?

She stays, she fights, she refuses to back down and finally does what she has wanted to do for a very long time - use her powers again and stand up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. She realises that she finally has a place to call home and friends she can call family and she's not willing to give all that up so easily. But when a blast from the past makes a reappearance, she gets worried - how is he here after all this time when it should be impossible?!

Can't wait to read book #2 to find out how Morgan deals with the Hunters and what might happen between her and Charlie, now he knows what he knows or even between Morgan and the Assassin!

I received an ARC copy of this book from the author, but this review is my own, honest one!

Demon Magic

Morgan has been suppressing her powers for too long.

Morgan wants to be the knight in Shining armour and is hell bent on saving a group of supernatural kids from the hunters.

Along the way Morgan realises her friends have become her family and she is desperate to keep them safe.

The Assassin makes an attempt on Morgan’s life and it makes her wonder why now, what has changed?

This is an engaging read and the developing relationships are heart warming. This is a slow burn and so far no spice, although I feel the Assassin could be our MMC in hiding!

Looking forward to the next book!

Dealer's Choice by Liz Cain is a paranormal action novel. This was an exciting novel and the first in a Triology. The author did a great job describing the backstory and characters so the reader understands what is going on. The plot and world they lived in were well developed.
Morgan made a deal with a demon to save someone she loved. Now for years she has been on the run. Currently she is hiding in Chicago. She decides to come out of hiding to help find kids that are missing but this in turn may have repercussions. Someone may have found her.
His was an exciting and action filled book. I can not wait to see what happens in the next book!

This starts about 500 years after Dealer’s Will. Morgan is settled in Chicago with people who are friends (although she doesn’t admit it), there is an assassin after her, a mob boss who’s sort of a friend, a bar that she routinely destroys. There are several different characters/species. Morgan barely uses her siren powers but still has no problem with anyone. It’s an interesting story that I’m sure will only get better as the series progresses. I will definitely be recommending this.

Where the prequel novella drew me in, this one held my attention and drew me in even further. The FMC is the perfect mix of sassy and stoic, and her developing backstory is very well integrated into the main story so that we develop more of a connection with her. Morgan's adventures to not only to rescue innocents and keep her friends safe, but also to find herself again, stop running from an old foe and stand and fight for herself are a real adventure that keeps you turning the pages! I am excited to continue the series and not only find answers for the overarching storyline but to also see what other shenanigans Morgan gets up to!

Morgan doesn’t need friends. She wants to live in peace and enjoy being in her garage mending cars.
She has been living in Chicago for too long. She doesn’t stay in a place for too long. There is a demon in the city and she decides to run.
Angel is a friend (who is an actual angel) needs Morgan’s help. They are investigating the disappearance of teenagers with the involvement in demons.
This book is awesome and fast paced and I can’t wait to read the next in the series. I love Morgan’s humour and her attitude.

Have you ever danced with the devil by the pale moonlight? Mogan did once… and she’s been on the run from the results ever since. Life has been hard over the centuries, moving from place to place, never putting down any actual roots, knowing that anyone you get close to is immediately in danger. But that’s life in the big city amirite?

For the last several years Morgan has been living in Chicago, IL; the Windy City; “Chi-Town is my town” she could definitely say, and she’s got a good thing going. Working on cars, staying under the radar, no sign of demonic pursuit, Chicago’s been a good place.

Folks at her local watering hole don’t know she’s not human though, they don’t know how old she really is. All they know is that this 5’-nuthin’ little mechanic can throw back booze like nobody’s business and isn’t averse to trashing Gamer’s if any local thugs think they can step up to her. Admittedly, she always pays to get it fixed, so you know, no harm, no foul?

Kids have started going missing though, and shadows keep drifting in her peripheral, and someone’s moving in on the local Boss’s territory. Waitaminit, is that sulfur in the air? Sounds like it might be about time to come out of retirement/hiding

“Dealer’s Choice” is the first book in the aptly named “Dealer’s Choice” series features a kickass female protagonist, plenty of new takes on everyone’s favorite old myths, action for days, and a cast of characters that kept me turning pages all the way through. This is my first experience with the series and I simply can’t wait to start on the next book!

I received a free copy of this e-book and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Morgan is an immortal, who has powers that she has kept secret and under control for centuries. She floats through life trying to keep her head down and moving every few decades, in order to hide from the demon she escaped and the assassin he sent after her. Now, teenagers are going missing, demons are involved, and signs point to a group of supernatural hunters that Morgan believed she’d wiped out centuries ago. After all these years, she is tired of running and has, despite her best efforts, made friends and put down roots. So this time, she is going to stand and fight.

I really enjoyed this story, and I liked Morgan as a main character. The premise, and world, are intriguing, and I will definitely continue with the series. That said, I struggled quite a bit with the inconsistent and unbelievable behaviour of the main characters. Having hidden and kept her secrets for centuries, Morgan now seems to be telling her life story to virtual strangers. Charlie’s willingness to bring her into his own confidence five minutes after meeting her seems implausible. There were other similar contrivances that didn’t ring true for me. As a grammar nerd, I found the punctuation and prose very dodgy in places.

Overall, I think this is an excellent debut novel and I look forward to reading more of this author’s work as she hones her craft.

Well, I was warned that I would love Morgan and need more of her, and they were right. The story starts strong, and we are introduced to Morgan and her fiesty spirit and desire to hide her true self. She escaped what should have been an immortal life of servitude to the demon she sold her soul to, but now she can't stop running. She has been in Chicago too long, and now it seems the assassin that appears to be literal shadows has likely found her. But if she can't see him, he can't see her, right? Besides, she's been asked to help find something, and if she leaves now, it will only get worse.
But agreeing to help has opened her up to the one thing she didn't want to happen again; her chosen family could become the target instead of her. The author did a phenomenonal job ramping up the tension as I wanted to just skip to the end to settle my own nerves, absolutely worth all that tension. She also made me need more of Morgan's story and her merry band of outcasts. I can't wait to see where her choices will lead.

“Believe me, she is no victim.”

I grabbed this book based on the cover alone but then when I went to read it, I hoped that it would live up to it and keep my attention.

I am thrilled to say that it did!!!! The story hooked me.

The lead character is not the typical lead and you really can't put her in a box. By the end of the book I was fully interested in her story and what the future holds for her and her friends (past & present).

I love it when people find their people - a community. Makes me happy.

The novellas are available via newsletter but I may wait to read them later because I want to move forward, not backward, right now.

Morgan is awesome!

I read the prequel novella Dealer's Will, so I was excited to read Dealer's Choice. I love Morgan as a FMC. She is super strong, mysterious, and fascinating. I love her growth throughout the book and the introduction of the other characters whom she finally calls friends. I really wish it would have started off from her service under the demon Alaric, though. I feel like so much was missed there, including how she got free.
I love her as a hero, though. Dealer's Will brings some great action scenes, some mystery, friendship, some hints of romance, and a few chuckles as well. Overall, it is well done, and I look forward to book two.

As secrets are revealed, more and more pieces of the puzzle are put in place and the picture is becoming clearer. Morgan’s past is catching up with her unfortunately she’s been far too complacent in preparing for it. Her friends are rallying around and showing her she’s not alone in this battle and she’s finding allies she didn’t know she had however she’s finding more enemies too.

Liz has done an amazing job at weaving the little bits together and if you’re paying attention you might even be able to see how her characters are growing and redesigning themselves and those around them.

Having read the prequel (Dealer's Will) I was excited to continue on Morgans path. Wherever it was going to lead I knew it would be a great ride. This did not disappoint. Morgan is a Kick ass, quick witted, Strong MC but she has some issues (not surprisingly) that she is dealing with. The side characters really came into their own and fleshed out the world in a beautiful way. loving Terry and how exasperated they are with Morgans usual life choices and behaviour. There were definitely a few 'WHAT!!' moments in this book which I love, this lead to so many 'just one more chapter' moments.
I am so blessed to have had the chance to read the ARC of this book. I can't wait for the next one!!!

Oh my Gosh this book!! It started off with a bang of Morgan getting to beat up one of Hadrian's men and it never slowed down!!! Morgan truly is my hero, being the badass Siren that she is. I love the water too so I feel a kinship to her there. Getting back on topic, this book has a lot of twists and turns so be prepared. You never can tell who is good and who is bad until they show their true selves. I really hope you enjoy Dealer's Choice as much as I did. Reading it is a true pleasure!

Your CHOICE Should be to Read this NOW!

This book gets an astounding YES from me and more than 5 stars if allowed! I found it hard to put down, so I rarely did... from the well-developed characters, to the perfect pace of the book! Morgan is a kick-ass character who does have to make a choice and learns a lot about herself and what's important to her as the story unfolds. I love how the author builds up the supporting characters as well and you get a real sense of cohesion as you read.
This is going to be an amazing series!

Have you ever made a deal and regretted it? Well that’s what has happened to our heroine Morgan and for most of her life she’s has stayed hidden to prevent repercussions of that deal. However even she can’t sit back when kids are going missing off the streets - especially gifted kids.

This book makes you feel for the characters, their plight, hearts desire and want of friendship. The need of secrecy and evasiveness to remain safe. I can’t wait for book 2!!

Morgan is a lady who just wants to be left alone and work in her garage. She does not need friends.

In reality she’s been running from her past but she cannot run forever and now maybe fate won’t let her anyways.

I really enjoyed learning about Morgan, her history and her troubles. Adding into this mix are the friends (whether she wants them or not) and a few human acquaintances plus an assassin and a bunch of otherworldly supernaturals and this is the perfect blend for what this book was.

Sometimes you need to face your fear head on and deal with it! No more running!

I recommend this book as it is well written and an enjoyable read. I cannot wait for book 2!

Liz Cain introduces you to a magical world mixed with every day human world. The main character, Morgan, has a deep past (snag Liz's short prequel Dealer's Will) that has landed her in Chicago. I enjoyed the magical elements, the tease of the back story, the mystery, and the humanity. Can't wait for the next one already!

I really enjoyed Dealer's Choice, the direction this novel went had me hooked. I really like Morgan, she's feisty and bad ass. I thought her character progression was great from the prequel novella and really showed her gradual connection to the other characters. I really like Liz Cain's writing style it's engaging and descriptive, it really pulls you into the story.
I'm really looking forward to reading the next book

Finding Home

Liz Cain writes a fantastic story about a woman with an incredible backstory (read Dealer's Will beforehand if you get the chance). She's escaped her previous life and has been on the run. She is a complicated character and I loved reading another book about her. There's good, there's bad, and lots of morally gray areas. Lots of action and character development. I couldn't put it down and look forward to the next book in the series! Give Dealer's Choice a chance and I'm sure you won't regret it.

Absolutely LOVED it!! Morgan is snarky and violent, but shes hiding a soft gooey center really. She fiercly protective of her friends and does whats right- even if she tries to tell herself otherwise. The characters are likeable and they all work well within the story. I'm looking forward to the next on already.

This was a fantastic story! I wasn't a huge fan of the main character at first, but she grew throughout the story and subsequently grew on me. By the end of the book, I was reading so quickly to see what would happen! So much action and intrigue! Excited to read the next!

I really enjoyed this book. The writing was very good. Great dialogue and strong character development. The mc is likable. Funny, and flawed. I can see me following her journey. This is a fairly new genre for me, but the story was so interesting and the writing so clear, i truly enjpyed it. Reminded me a bit of Rebecca Roanhorse
