What in the darkness, stalking, twist-filled unhinged ness did I read?
Look. I realize this rating has EVERYTHING to do with the fact that this is JK’s last book 😭 and I’m not even ashamed 🤣
But also…
Noooo, mamma nooooo 😭
It’s too hard to give it less than five stars, because JK’s gives NO F’s… none 😅… she’ll write the most unhinged, OTT possessed hero out there, and she’ll do it with a smile of her face💅.
And I gotta love her for that 🤷🏻♀️
But also… 😭😭😭 don’t leave us JK!!!! 😭😭😭 who else is gonna deliver the OTT goodness you do?
There goes my dream of having you write a full length novel 😭

Scout (18) has a stalker, and she’s scared. Her freshmen year in college isn’t going as she planned, because of these threatening letters/notes/etc that she’s received. Her brother goes to the same college as her, and when he needs to leave for a few days, he asks his best friend, an athlete (baseball) to help take care of his younger sister. And Cash does NOT mind 😈.
You see, Cash is Scout’s stalker, but she doesn’t know that 😅. In fact, she’s extremely grateful that he’s taking the time out of his life to watch her.
If only she knew the extent that he’ll make sure she’ll be okay 😈
What I loved: POSSIBLE SPOILERS :
—the OTTness 😅. JK just knows how to write unhinged, OTT heroes, and I can’t stop reading them 👀.
—CHECKING FOR TRACKING DEVICES 🤣 oh my gosh. Oh LOOOORDT 🤣 the way he just convinces Scout was SLY 😈 but also… SEXXXXY AF 🥵. I wanted to yell at her to stop 🤣 but then again, meh… keep going Cash… inspect every nook and cranny 😉

Woweeee. Jessa Kane certainly delivered with this one! This is for the smut readers who love OTT unhinged MCs, I mean the man was quite literally on the brink of insanity the whole book because he was so obsessed with the FMC. I am so sad this is Jessa Kane's last book, but she absolutely went out with one that will leave everyone satisfied or at least questioning what they just read. That's a win win in my book.

Her books have always been my coping mechanism, and the highlight of my month for years now so brb I'm gonna go breakdown.
ANYWAYS. It's only right that I write a proper review for her last story, so here goes 💀:
(Me looking at all the work I have to get done, and exams to revise for)-

-=- Part 1: The beginning of the end-=-
✨ A story about stalkers, and unconditional love ✨ (not even therapy can help them 💀)
I think this book singlehandedly had to be one of the most unhinged stories JK has ever written, and I absolutely inhaled it.
The story starts with Cash jumping straight into his stalking habits 💀. He's been stalking and harassing Scout (the h), ever since he met her, when his teammate introduced him to her (his little sister)- oh Cash is also an up-and-coming famous baseball player btw 😭.
Obsessed doesn't even cover it with this man- HE WAS STRAIGHT UP PSYCHOTIC DHUFBDUIBFS
His methods of stalking are (but are not limited to):
I mean you say he's a stalker, I say he has multifaceted and resourceful behavior.
Anyways, Scout's brother is leaving for a couple of days and wants someone he trusts to look after her whilst he's not there- (I'm crying)- so he leaves her with Cash.
Scout's brother left for 5 MINUTES and then it began 💀.
-=- Part Two: 👹The Tingles 👹-=-
The whole scene in his apartment actually left me on the floor because it was so unhinged 😭. Cash somehow manages to convince Scout that the only way to help is her by pretending he's the stalker to 'get into the right mindset' I-
So, when the Stalker x Stalkee roleplay started- (still crying)- Cash just COMPLETELY let loose.
The violent urges in this book were crazyyyy. BUT I COMPLETELY LOST IT WHEN HE SAID HE HAD TO SEARCH HER FOR A TRACKING DEVICE. WHILST SHE WAS WEARING A BODY SUIT. HELLO?!?!?!?😭😭😭.
WHO IS HE. CASH YOU ARE NOT SLICK I CAN'TTTT.
You don't understand the whole scene had me rolling😭. It just kept cracking me up, because how is JK getting away with this lmaoooo.
But moving on, because this is a story about crazed love and not lawsuits 💀 Scout was completely into it.
Also sidenote: I don't think there was a single thought behind her head 😭. Scout was honestly just living life day by day.
After the search 😭 the roleplay continues, which ends up with Scout locking herself in the bathroom.
Here, I'll give you options, and you can guess why. Was it:
Take a wild guess. This girl was upset BECAUSE SHE THOUGHT HE WAS ONLY ROLEPLAYING TO HELP HER FIND THE STALKER. Babe, I'm signing you up for therapy as we speak.
Also, the moments before she opened the door were so goofy 😭:
SHE HAS NO LIFE SURVIVAL SKILLS. 😭 I was actually concerned for her wellbeing, but you know what, imma let her have it.

-=-✨ Part 3: Softball? No. Changing room sex. ✨-=-
Cash comes to the realization that Scout shouldn't be left out of his sight, so he brings her to one of his softball games- that literally determines whether or not he can have a career.
Oh did I mention that they're both in college 💀.
But yeah- Cash gets immediately distracted, and with the approval from his coach 😭 - (the tears won't stop)- takes her to a random office, where all the other players are soon to be headed.

-=-🔀 Part 4: The Uno Reverse Card 🔀-=-
This whole part of the story caught me so off guard because I wasn't expecting Scout to actually do something crazy like this 😭.
After finally finding out that it was Cash who was stalking her (THEY WERE IN THE CINEMAS WATCHING A MOVIE ABOUT A STALKER HELP), instead of:
This girl decided to stalk him instead. WHAT IS GOING ON.
To cut this short (the procrastination is making me feel guilty lmao) they end up having a cutesy little chase scene in the woods 💀☝️- where they proceed to come to a mutually beneficial agreement:
And that's that 😌.
Oh and then there's the epilogue 💀.

✨Part 5: A Therapist's Sleep Paralysis Demon x Nightmare Core ✨
Oh, what's that sound??? Just sirens BECAUSE SOMEONE GET THIS GIRL AWAY FROM CASH.
But let's just stay delusion: at least they're happy together shdjshjdsh.

I'm genuinely going to miss these books. I'm not even joking, it wasn't even a full page into this one and it got me laughing 😭. Overall this book was absolutely psychotic and unhinged, but it was so fun and I loved it.
It feels really surreal and I'm so sad I can't 😭. Trust me when I say, I've read so many novellas and no one does unhinged like JK.

Scout (virgin) has a stalker! Yay! When her brother finds out about it, he asks his BFF, Cash (literally insane, baseball player), to protect her while he's away. Thankfully, it works out perfectly for us!! Cash, is of course, her insane, unhinged, mentally unstable stalker! He's violent and aggressive and completely out of his mind for Scout. She's always had a crush on him too but she's def unsure of her feelings. Then they get their freak on!!!
They go through some batshit crazy stuff, have hot as hell make-out sessions and f*ck fests. He chokes her, slaps her, and calls her his angel. Duh - she calls him Daddy.
It's a perfect way to go!
PS. Damn you Jessa Kane for saying this is your last book!!!!! You make my life worth living!!!! 😭 😭 😭 😭 😭

This was a fun, OTT, crazy read about a girl named Scout and the unstable boy that is OBSESSED with her.
Scout has a stalker. He sends threatening emails, sneaks into her dorm room, follows her around, tracks her, etc. She’s scared but secretly thrilled… She also has a HUGE crush on her brother’s best bud Cash. Cash is the baseball star stud of campus and has girls throwing themselves at him… but he only wants Scout.
The book starts with the bro asking Cash to look out for Scout while he leaves town… let the games begin.
Bottom Line- These two were nuts but perfect for each other. Their love was totally unhealthy but super entertaining. 😂 It’s not sweet, not romantic, but worth the read.

Bottom Line- These two were nuts but perfect for each other. Their love was totally unhealthy but super entertaining. 😂 It’s not sweet, not romantic, but worth the read.

I'm so sad and shocked and I don't know how I'll ever recover since the news Jessa Kane has retired... I miss her already 😩
This novella was absolutely the perfect good-bye in my eyes: the Hero is bonkers, unhinged, a little violent and obsessed with the heroine, just like I LOVE my heroes to be.
The heroine was a little naive at first but then she matched the hero perfectly. The smut was top-notch and I loved how this had an overall dark vibe to it.. I feel like now that we got a little taste of a more gritty type novella from JK, it's so devastating knowing she won't come back anymore...

I really hope this isn’t the last one
I love this book as always Jessa is a one click author for me. But my heart is so heavy with the knowledge that piracy is making her hang up her hat. I don’t know how I will go on not getting another short and dirty story from her. I wish we could mass report or beg Amazon for help. This is not okay and I know I’m not the only fan who feels like this. Jessa, you are amazing and I love each and every one of your works. Please don’t go!

5 stars for Jessa Kane’s final book. OTT daddy deliciousness with two batshit crazy leads. Boy, she wasn’t lying when she said she went out with a bang.

JK pulled out all the stops on this one. I haven't read all her books, but I think Cash may be the most unhinged MMC she's written. A true stalker, obsessed and jealous. Everything was super over the top, and honestly, I'm going to miss her crazy, smutty stories. I hope she reconsiders retirement.

As this is Jessa’s last book I have to give it five stars. 🥲 These five stars are for Jessa giving me my short smutty fixes whenever I needed them and writing the most outrageous, ridiculous and memorable plots I’ve ever read. 🫠 I’m a broken woman, my heart is shattered and I will never be the same. 😭💔

My only regret is not reading Jessa Kane sooner.
Although I had seen her works celebrated for completely unhinged heroes, I did not give it a try until now. I find it funny but also hot at the same time. I think books like Jessa Kane really require a sense of humour because the hero is literally bellowing multiple times and at one point doing his best Stella impression ripping his shirt in public. The fact that he keeps her fallen hair in a ziploc bag… this book is just everything.

This is different from what I've read from this author. I know she has books with stalkers and I enjoyed those stories and loved the MMCs obsession. However, for some reason Cash isn't doing it for me and I'm actually scared of his character. He's deranged and totally unhinged for Scout. He stalked her and threatened her for months! Telling her if she would date or show interest to anyone, he would KILL HER, not the other party. 😐
Maybe he wouldn't really do this to her but in all the books I've read with ott j/p mmc I've never come across a character who would pose this threat to his fmc. It's just that Cash's obsession is deadly (the way I see it), Scout sort of confirmed it herself in the epilogue "I wonder if this will be the time his obsession takes over and he finally kills me."
Anyway, the story happened within two days, understandable since this is a novella. Cash has been obsessing and stalking her for 7 months (i think???) he said he knew she was it for him the moment her brother (his bff too) introduced them. It was the same for Scout too, she got attracted to him at that first meeting but thought it was one sided and that Cash only sees her as his bff's little sister and nothing more. Also, because her brother told her that Cash dated a lot (idk how to feel about this 😑) so Scout never interacted with Cash only a handful of times.
Cash has been terrorizing her all throughout those months. Sending her emails and letters to tell her that she better stay single and not engaged with anyone, or else he would kill her. But as crazy as it sounds these threats kind of make Scouts excited and she's been looking forward to receiving her stalker's letters 🤷♀️
Then the day came for Cash to finally claim Scout. Her brother asked him to take care of her for the weekend because he needs to attend an event. And claim he did.
Overall, this is okay I didn't love or dislike it, just so-so. I was uneasy reading the story and that could be a me problem. While this didn't work for me, I'm sure other readers would love this.
Lastly, thank you Ms. Kane for the reprieve I got from your books. I know this is your last book, but I'm hoping sometime in the future you will publish again and delight us again with your stories. ❤️

Scout está siendo acosada por alguien así que cuando su hermano se entera se vuelve loco porque él tiene que irse de la ciudad y no quiere dejarla sola. Su solución? Que se vaya a vivir con su mejor amigo, nada más y nada menos que Cash el enamoramiento de Scout desde que lo conoció por primera vez. Pero Scout no está tan a salvo como piensa porque quizás su acosador está más cerca de lo que creía.
Me estaba gustando muchísimo este libro, de verdad que sí, de hecho iba para mis favoritos de libros cortos peeeeero y para mí es un ENORME pero fue una frase que suelta al final el libro que para mi fue un bajón enorme y me quitó todo y hasta me dejó con mal cuerpo y fue esta:
Os pongo en contexto primero, ellos estaban en pleno chikitriki 🤣 y el le está apretando el cuello porque vale le va el rollito de cortar el aire un poco pero en un momento el le aprieta bastante la garganta y encima al mismo tiempo la besa así que el flujo de aire es 0. Y ella dice: "Me pregunto si este será el momento en que su obsesión se apodere de mí y me mate por fin. Me da igual. Se que me encontrará en cualquier otra vida que nos espere"
Y ahí fue cuando yo dije QUE DICEEEEEEEES ESTÚPIDA????????? Osea se me bajó todo, si fuese hombre habría tenido un gatillazo QUE COJONES TE PASA TÍA!??? Estarías bien con que tú marido te matase porque está demasiado obsesionado contigo? Mira de verdad AL PSIQUIATRA te mando de cabeza a que te encierren. De verdad que yo soy de las que le encantan los hombres obsesionados y posesivos pero esto, NO MI REINA, esto está mal lo mires donde lo mires. De verdad que no puedo.

This was seriously *unhinged* — I was cackling madly while reading and also side-eyeing myself for finding it so entertaining. Sad as I am that this is Jessa Kane’s last book, she’s really going out on a bang.

Well...that was an experience. Unhinged, creepy, unsettling, over the top, fanatical, intense and crazy are a few words I'd use to describe this book.
