Kazuya did it. He finally confessed…sort of. And it's left his relationship with Mizuhara in a nebulous position. Amidst this confusion, new trouble strikes when Umi, the handsome actor who once took Mizuhara out on a date, invites Kazuya to a party. He already suspects she might care more for Kazuya than she lets on. What could he be planning?
Kazuya builds resolve to confess his love to Mizuhara. The two grow closer when Mizuhara invites Kazuya as her plus one to a party hosted by Umi. Mami arrives again to stir thing up but what’s her end goal?

This volume loses a star because Ruka is still around. She adds nothing of value to this series which I continue to read solely because I want something good to happen to Ichinose. Mami is a psycho female (of the dog persuasion). Ruka is a waste of time. Even Kazuya is so milquetoast that it is hard to root for him. Thank goodness for the library!
The question of whether or not to tell Grandma Nagomi the truth is back on the table. Kazuya wants to declare himself, but someone comes along and interrupts. Mami makes a proposal to Chizuru. This constant dwelling on things is getting on my nerves. I already own the number 22, and after this, I might drop the reading of this manga.
Shit’s getting confusing. Didn’t Kazuya basically confess last volume??? Why is Mami trying to mess everything up if she doesn’t want Kazuya??? She is definitely a closet nutcase. Also, WHY IS RUKA STILL AROUND???? 😓
Feels like things are starting to happen. Of course, I said that like 11 volumes ago. Boy, this really was more fun when I was marathoning them and didn’t have to wait two months for new volumes where little happens. The fact that Japan is Thirteen volumes ahead genuinely terrifies me.
Thank god for Ruka, though! She may be depraved, but she livens this series up.
Also, contrary to what the cover says, Chizuru does not get a dog in this one 😡
Kazuya and Ichinose meander and make no tangible progress (Having to read a whole volume of "I'LL DO THE THING" and it not happening and this after 20 previous volumes of *build up* is FRUSTRATING), Ruka is a creep who believes that since she finds Kazuya attractive she therefor OWNS him (just...flip the genders if you don't get why I hate this), and Mami is...unhinged for *no reason*.
I'm just done.

The only good thing that happened in this volume is the Mami vs Chizuru confrontation plus the party. So many twists and turns, and finally, romantic drama is full-speed ahead 😁

The series moves at a snails pace when it comes to romance, but damn if it isn't exciting when the needle moves ever so slightly. Hopefully we see that love confession in the next 10 volumes or so...
