For 8 years, all I have known is trying to survive one day to the next. One night causes me to lose everything, nearly including my life. Waking up in a hospital bed, surrounded by the people I never thought I would see again, after they abandoned me 8 years ago, instead of saving me, is not what I expected, either is the four new men who are insisting they want to be there for me while I heal. Will it be enough to make me want to live again? Or is it too late for me?

Little monster Little bear Pumpkin Cupcake Baby girl … just a world of cringy nicknames.
Badly in need of editing..
A plethora of guys that are described as a copy and pasted version from every romance book. One of which is the “unhinged” fellow of the group.
I got to like 32% but I don’t think I can continue. The writing is super juvenile and unbelievably unrealistic. Girl experiences massive trauma for years but of course she doesn’t hesitate to be around a group of guys she just met.. all of which are huge and over 6 feet. I mean before she even leaves the hospital she’s giving the guys puppy dog eyes so she can get her way.. this was after her rape kit came back and found out her sister had passed.. her sister that was wanting to call her, “mommy.” 🤪🙄
I have made a blog post on my Goodreads account, but I am aware that not everyone will see that. Whispers of Salvation - Book one, is now with an editor and will hopefully be updated in a few months. As a first-time author and this being my first book, I am blown away by all of the reviews left by people. The good and the bad. Thank you for taking the time to read my book.
Please understand I'm absolutely obsessed with this book & the author knows it. Dominic the love of my life, I need more Dominic content asap.
This book was honestly amazing & I couldn't put it down once I got my hands on it! N.E. does a fantastic job telling this story in such a beautiful way. It had me laughing, crying, giggling, and everything in between. The chemistry between the characters was written so beautifully and made me fall in love with all of them again and again.
I cannot wait for more from N.E. and I look forward to seeing more in the coming books (especially of Dominic, in case you were wondering who my favourite is, I'm looking at you N.E., I need more Dominic :).
Thank you N.E. for an early copy! Cannot wait to read more from you!
**Please be mindful of the trigger warnings in this book!**
This book left me crying through my lunch break (luckily I was working from home)!
The story will tear you apart at points but the characters are amazing and the story pulled me straight in.
I picked it up after seeing it mentioned on Facebook and I have to say I was not disappointed. I cannot wait for the next book to find out what happens next.
This story was heartbreaking but at the same time so beautiful told! The life that Autumn lived heart wrenching so sad! The demons that’s she had to face. I can’t even tell you how many times I cried reading it. The cliffhanger I didn’t realize this wasn’t a standalone. I normally wait until all the books are out until I start reading it, but the blurb had me hooked! Can’t wait for book 2!
I only leave reviews when I can give 5*s. I loved this book so much I gave myself a headache from crying. I'm praying there isn't a long wait for book 2.
Wow. Whoa. This is a tough one! Check the TW for sure. This story is a deep and tragic journey with our FMC. It’s a rollercoaster of emotions; crying and sobbing to smiling and laughing. This story will rip your heart out over and over again. The characters are all fantastic and the story is so moving. I can’t wait to see what happens next and how these characters grow and hopefully thrive. I can’t express enough how emotional this book is and that you need to be prepared for it. It really is fantastic though. I highly recommend it. 4.5⭐️ .5🌶
This novel really touched me. The FMC is the strongest character I've ever read. Her men are so much more than just book boyfriends. This author deals with many triggering subjects with class, and I couldn't ask for a better storyline. You will laugh, cry, want to throw your kindle, and most of all, you won't be able to put it down. I will be impatiently waiting for the next segment of this tragically beautiful story.
This book broke my heart so bad!! Gosh I just feel for Autumn so so much 🥺 the story so far has been beautifully tragic and I can’t wait to read more and see Autumn grow and her bond with the boys develop!
I hate you for leaving me with a cliff hanger but I know the next book will be worth it! I NEED it! I need to mend my poor broken soul 😂
This book can be tricky to stomach at points so please do check your trigger warnings before going into this one as is pretty heavy!
This is one of them books that gives you so many emotions and makes you shed buckets of tears that you can not say "I enjoyed this book", it's deep, dark, emotional rollercoaster and absolutely brilliant. The fml is so broken yet so strong to have endured what she did and to keep going for as long as she did. I'm eager to read the next instalment....I..just need to stock up on tissues before hand.
Big communication problems here🙄 I really don't understand why Autunn didn't tell the guys that her mother beat her at her therapist office🧐 She was able to say it! And well... I really begin to like less and less this kind of FMC who took systematically wrong decisions, unable to just communicate and be more clever than the villain🙄🤦🏻♀️

Amazing! I loved, I cried, I laughed, I loved again and cried again. TW but I got through it. The pain and the love that’s in this book has moved me in such a good way.
When I'm reading a well written book with captivating characters and a great plot, I lose myself in it. It's better than a movie playing in my head because it feels like I'm right there living this with them. The plot of this book is great. I love the characters and their different personalities and back stories. I could easily have lost myself in it but the writing left a lot to be desired.
The grammatical errors and poor sentence structure made it hard. A lot of times I had to reread things to understand what the author meant to say. No big deal though. I've read plenty books with bad grammar and still found them enjoyable, even if I couldn't immerse myself. However there was one other issue that made this book difficult to like.
The use of British English when the author chose to set the story in the southwestern United States made reading this book feel like a painful wedgie that I couldn't pull out. In the beginning of the book, it didn't bother me to much. But it became clear that it wasn't just different names for things, such as plaster instead of bandage or Band-Aid. The characters would say phrases or word sentences in a manner that was so obviously British compared to the way an American would say it. A couple of times, the characters did things that most Americans just wouldn't or don't do.
It became clear that it wasn't just a few things that maybe the author didn't realize Americans had a different word for than people in the UK. There was no effort or research put in to make the author's choice of setting even remotely believable. So, despite having a great plot with funny, interesting, likable (or villainous, easy to hate) characters, this was a hard book to finish. I wanted so much to love it but it felt impossible. I did finish it though (but not the 2nd).
I really wanted to love this book however it fell a bit short. This story is about Autumn, an abused teenager dealing with trauma and survivors guilt. The author has a knack for stirring your emotions, and I felt the mfc's sadness. Loved the plot, so that wasn't my issue with the book. My first issue is a huge pet peeve of mine. It drives me crazy when an author from a different country writes characters that are from the US. In this case, these characters in Arizona ( I think), but it's obvious that the author doesn't know how Americans speak. The use of plaster instead of bandaid, trousers instead of pants, work top instead of counter.... it may be a little thing to some, but I just wish the author either did more research or got Beta readers from the country in which they are writing about!!! Another reason for my lowered rating is the relationship building with the men Autumn will have in her harem. It seems they all love her way too fast. Four of the men have no previous relationship with her, and upon seeing her in a coma they fall for her immediately, and when Autumn awakes and meets these guys she feels safe and protected even though no man has had her trust in 8 years!! I really wish there were more of a buildup to her dating these guys. My last critique may be an unpopular opinion but I hate overly cute nicknames! One guy is gimli ( because he has the same beard and hair as the dwarf from Lord of the Rings! One guy is Spiderman because it's her favorite avenger. Oh and she calls her brother Brother Bear! Kind of weird for a 17 year old. Overall it's pretty good and will definitely be reading the next book.
This book. Once I started I could not put down. You ever read a book that just breaks your heart and soul into millions of tiny pieces, but in the best way. This has one of those books. Autumn has just been through so much in her life. This book dives head first into her grief and trauma. It walks you through her mental health struggles. And her boys, they do their best to help her but it’s up to her to want to wake up each day. This is her journey. I absolutely cannot wait until the next book comes out. That cliffhanger though…… Please make sure you read the trigger warning for this book.
Reread review: The writing is truely terrible, worse than i remember too, but the plot is interesting. I keep seeing teasers for further along in the series on tiktok, so thought i should give it another try, but i dont know if i can get past the writing… Downgrading from earlier three star to a two star rating.
Original review: I didn’t love it as much as I thought I would, because I hvae read so many similar which I have loved, but it was good, a bit too much time jumps that ruined it for me because it took away from the emotional journey she ws on?
Such a fantastic book. I can't wait to find out more in book two. Really captures each feeling and you get a good look into the minds of each character. This book had me hooked!
I know I didn’t give this book that much of a chance but in all honesty - I couldn’t. The writing is incredibly juvenile, it was as if it was a creative writing piece by a high schooler. I just couldn’t get on with the narrative and didn’t find it immersive enough to continue.
Truly the book of all time. How this isn't classified as a comedy, I don't even know. Now, I could get into exceedingly annoying detail about how bad this book is, but I think displaying each horrifying quote I have in my arsenal and providing as much context I think would make the text as hilarious as possible, would be the best choice.

Not tagging this one. It's funnier out of context.
I really enjoyed the concept and storyline. I think the progression of guilt and grief is spot on for sure here. Not healing without therapy and difficulties with physical intimacy definitely make sense for the level of trauma she experienced and I love that that’s addressed and actually pretty realistic. But a few things are unrealistic, don’t make sense and aren’t as developed as they could be.
I liked the progression with the guys. I will say, I only felt connected with Dominic and Tobias. Everyone else, even Atlas, I struggled to really root for. Dominic is referred to as being “off” pretty consistently but there’s a missed opportunity for depth there.
It’s unreal that after being abused for over a decade, that our FMC was be so oblivious about her surroundings. The trauma she has gone through would demand hyper vigilance and awareness of people and her surroundings. No way you had no clue what your dad or the guys did. I’m giving the fact that she felt comfortable with so many new men so quickly a pass because it’s fiction but everything else is a bit much.
The female friends seems thrown in and kind of glossed over as did time at points in the book. It was also a bit of an exaggeration that none of the so called vigilant guys noticed the self-harming for the many months it as happening.
Overall dark subject matter is discussed but I didn’t feel that the depth of it warrants it to be a dark romance, just a sad one. Maybe the criminal aspects of the story will be explored in the second book.
Pet peeve is that they are supposed to be based in the southwest US yet there’s a ton of I think is British terminology (college meaning high school, you lot, etc). The inconsistencies there drive me crazy. Don’t base on a region without the language aligning to at least the correct country. There were a couple of typos, run on sentences, and unnecessarily dramatic repetitive claims of feeling strongly about the FMC that felt a little juvenile and ridiculous at the beginning but mostly cute.
I think if you can get over some of the small hiccups I had, you’ll love the book.
This was a decent storyline that just needs a good editor. The story is set in America, but the author uses speech and language patterns based in British English. If she wanted to set in the USA, then she needed to adapt to their vernacular. Also, her grammar was pretty awful, the typical grammatical mistakes kf the lowly educated. The one that stands out as she used it constantly was seen when it should be saw. It was really distracting and there were many many other similar grammatical mistakes throughout. A decent editor would have picked up on all of this and made the book flow better and feel more polished and professional.
The story itself was really good, but it lacked in places, sometimes there was a bit too much telling and not enough showing, and sometimes it felt like she was trying too hard to depict things like the guys bloodthirstiness. It also felt a little bit in places that she was trying too hard to emulate similar books.
As a first book, I'd say this is a really good effort that could have been amazing if it had had one more draft, fully edited. It just needs to be a bit polished. I'm sure as the author gets into her groove her writing will come on in leaps and bounds. The only issue I have with the storyline is why she didn't tell them about the texts, especially the photo of chloe, and why she didn't tell them about her mum at the end. It makes no sense to me. All that said, I will definitely be reading the second book, but I'm interested in how the author will write herself out of the cliffhanger as it will take a huge suspension of belief to believe that all of that could be survivable.
This story is extremely dark. It’s definitely not something to go in with lightly. I feel like most of these things that are happening to the fmc are a tad excessive. *spoilers*
Having her sister die in a fire seems a bit much. She’s already getting beat by her mom and sa’d on a regular basis, do you really think the death of her little sister was necessary?? Especially when you could have easily have her survive right along with the main character. She has so much trauma already, it feels a little cruel and unnecessary. This was also a struggle to get through bc it felt a bit tedious getting through all the trauma. Also, why were the MMC so afraid to tell the fmc that they were in a gang/mafia? The other point was the therapist session where the bio mom shows up with some random hulk dude…that would LITERALLY never happen. You’d have to have a ton of money to pay off someone to let you into a private office and this woman has nothing, absolutely nothing to offer anyone. You can’t seriously think that she’d still have any connections where they are in AZ. Doesn’t the fmc dad have a bounty on her as well? It’s all a little much and is just not great. I’m going to start the second one but if the mmc’s and dad, don’t get it together soon, I’m not finishing the series. I’m not enduring more mental trauma just for you to have a story. You need growth for the characters as well. It feels like we never hear about Zander or Sebastian. Only Atlas, Tobias, and Dominic. This is another problem with reverse harems being too big. IMO 5 is too many if you don’t have plot lines for them…I’m physically exhausted after reading this book.
Editing is definitely needed, but it's a great story!
Whispers of Salvation is a great story. The only real negative is that it appears that there has been no editing done before publishing. There are many run-on sentences, improper punctuation, the wrong words used in places, overall poor sentence structure... especially in the first half, it comes off as one of those "pay per chapter" books that you can read on various apps where authors can directly post a chapter without using with editors. The book is poorly done in that regard.
HOWEVER. The story itself is great. I assumed incorrectly that this would be a standalone when I didn't see "1 of --" under the title. There's going to be at least one more after this, and according to the author's own Facebook, there isn't a release date yet for the next one. I enjoyed reading it. It's a somewhat dark book in regard to the content (child abuse, $exual assault of a minor, r@pe of minor, suicidal thoughts and attempt, etc.), but lighter in the regard that there's no bullying or no violence. The guys are all in for Autumn and do everything they can to show their affections for her.
At the end of the book, in the acknowledgments, it asks if people see any errors to please email her. I really wish I had kept track from the beginning to help her out, but maybe I will for the second one if it doesn't have an editor that goes over it first. :)
Overall: I DO recommend this book for the storyline. I only remove one star because of the editing needed. Otherwise, I give pretty much full marks for her great story!
"Whispers of Salvation" is a poignant exploration of despair, resilience, and the complicated bonds of family. The story follows FML, a character whose strength shines through her struggles, making her genuine laughter amidst the pain all the more powerful.
The author beautifully captures FML's internal battles, providing readers with a deep understanding of her tumultuous emotions. It's heart-wrenching to witness her fight against overwhelming feelings of hopelessness while dealing with an emotionally tumultuous relationship with her mother, who stands as a symbol of toxicity in her life.
Stevenson does not shy away from addressing heavy themes, particularly the complexities of mental health and the stigma surrounding suicidal thoughts. The portrayal of FML's journey invites empathy and opens up crucial conversations about the challenges individuals face when navigating their mental health, especially in difficult family dynamics.
The final scene is particularly impactful, leaving readers grappling with a mix of hope and heartbreak. It serves as a reminder of the fragility of life and the importance of compassion in understanding those who are struggling.
"Whispers of Salvation" is a beautifully written yet gut-wrenching tale that resonates long after the last page. It's a must-read for anyone seeking to understand the depths of human emotion and the indomitable spirit of survival.
I think I’d probably give this 3.5 stars (rounded up to 4). The storyline is pretty good, and the characters are well developed for the most part. There are some very serious situations happening in the book, so please read and take the trigger warnings seriously because most of that is ON PAGE. There was definitely a lot of damage and the sadness and hurt due to Autumn’s trauma comes through.
I’m not sure if I will be continuing the series because it kind of seemed like two steps forward and three steps back though most of the book and it feels like that is just going to continue. It’s difficult for me to relate to Autumn so I am frustrated she won’t turn to her guys or brother when she starts getting weird messages or after the incident at the therapist’s office. And that ending…I totally thought it would go in a different direction.
Finally, I hate to be that person, but there was a lot of terminology used that just wasn’t something any kid raised in Arizona or New Mexico would use. Normally, I can overlook that, but it was distracting due to how many times it happened. If the characters were in the UK or at least raised there it would have made a lot more sense, but growing up in the southwest it was kind of hard to stay engaged.
***I basically went into this book completely blind. It was the middle of the night and i just clicked borrow without reading the blurb. I blame my sleep deprived self for this.***
I want to be kind but this book is a train wreck! I saw that the author said that this was newly edited but I don’t think so. Aside from the errors and run on sentences, the story intrigued me. I kept on reading hoping it would get better. Unfortunately it didn’t. It feels like i read this story before. Same cookie cutter characters just(insert name here) for her harem. We have the best friend, the underground fighter, the techie, the damaged one, and the psycho. Oh, don’t forget her long lost brother. The h is abused or had a rough upbringing and needs someone to take care of her. I guess what I’m getting at is this is very predictable and sometimes predictable is good. That is why I’m gonna give book 2 a shot.
***On a side note….UK authors, if you are going to write about characters that take place in the US, I implore you to please 🙏 use the correct words/terms.***
