It means real-life situations, like fathers getting sick, people you love getting injured, and…maybe worst of all…work parties with your significant others. Shudder.
But this is what it’s like when you’re in a relationship. Things aren’t always rainbows and unicorns. Even if you’re living and laughing with, and having hot sex every night, with three men who worship the ground you walk on. Trust me, that’s amazing. Really amazing. I’d-probably-give-up-cookies-for-this amazing. And best of all…my men would never make me give up cookies.
But I’m having to hang on a lot tighter for this ride than I expected. Because I’m not just figuring things out with one guy. I’ve got three. And if we’re seriously going to do this, then we have to figure out if we’re really all in for better or worse.
Dani, Nathan, Michael, and Crew are back in another steamy, why-choose rom com! No cheating, a guaranteed HEA, and the guys are all about her! These books must be read in order. Start this fun, sexy story with Puck One Night Stands!
The third book in the series is more on the serious side. It deals with the reality and feelings associated with a whirlwind, polyamourous relationship. Michael is featured more in this story, but Nathan is still my favorite! Crew is a close second, but I think I like seeing feelings from "grumpy billionaire" type characters more!
The third book in the Chicago Rackerteers series was fine, but it didn't have much of a plot. Nothing really happens in this book, except in the last chapter or so.
I did enjoy seeing what happens next in their home life and navigating life as a foursome. I wasn't a fan of the miscommunication, and it just made me angry at times.
However it's easy to read and kept me amused for a few hours. I'm looking forward to Luna's book
I love this series and was really looking forward to this installment coming out! Unfortunately, it fell a little short for me. I like that we get to see the polycule into their shared house and all the dynamics of that. But I hate that their lack of communication is what becomes a major problem later in the book. Yes, they’re open and honest with one another, but only to a degree. The things that matter most they don’t share with one another. It’s really frustrating as a reader and a trope that I don’t love. I feel like the author went ‘round and ‘round with each characters emotions and feelings, making it a cyclical repeat. Each time a character has an internal monologue, it’s not like we were learning anything new. Things got talked to death. I still liked the book overall, but it wasn’t my favorite out of all these stories. Looking forward to the final story though!
A final thought; when Michael’s dad has his first heart attack, I cannot believe that Dani doesn’t go home with him. And the fact that the other guys don’t give her more shit about it is irritating. She should have gone with him and I think it’s bullshit that she’s not held accountable for that. I know the guys love her unconditionally, but they give her way more than she gives them.

I was chosen to receive an ARC of this book, which was my first time (SUPER excited!)! I loved this book! I won’t give too much away, but the way Nathan, Michael, Crew, and Danielle all have to come to terms with what they want individually and then together makes my heart swell. I didn’t want it to end, so I’d force myself to only read a few chapters a day lol
*beta read* seriously this series is the best hockey why choose I’ve ever read! It’s easy to read, minimal drama, loveable and HOT characters and the best banter! I loved the progression of their relationship and the way they handled everyday things!
If you haven’t read the series, DO IT! Seriously 😉
Cue me, screaming, waiting for this book release this month. Cue me, screaming, not wanting this book to end. Cue me, screaming, because this was hands down my favorite book of the series so far!
I absolutely love the way that @EmmaFoxx has developed the characters over the first two books, and now in this one she takes a more serious tone. But the good news is that the tone was PERFECT because it was so realistic. We have four adults – Dani, Nathan, Michael and Crew – who are moving into a new home together and trying to figure out all the dynamics of their unique poly relationship. I thought that @EmmaFoxx wrote this in the most honest and endearing way that drew me to these characters even more. Nathan, Michael and Crew are all different ages and at different points in their lives and I loved watching them grapple with questions of marriage and kids and the future and how to make things work together.
I’ve said it before and I will say it again – I love romance books that give me the build up, the “how” of couples coming together. But, even more than that, I love seeing those relationships go through the real life stuff. I love seeing the struggle and how they come together and what makes it all meaningful. Yes, the flirt and the spice was all there – individual for Dani and her three men, and together. But even more than that was all the good, emotional, meaningful stuff and I absolutely loved it. I will not be ready to say goodbye to this foursome in May when the last book comes out.
The first two books, I was deadest that Michael was my main squeeze. I still love this man and what he brings to the group dynamic. BUT did Nathan have some tremendous growth? No doubt. Is he creeping to the top of my list? That bonus scene! GUYS! Did Nathan make me want to cry a little? Just, possibly. I love the unique personalities that all three of these men bring to the table. I will beg @EmmaFoxx for more, more, more because I can’t handle just one more book of them. I love them too much! This is one of my top two poly relationship series I have read and if MFMM is your jam, this is the place to be.
Super adorable! So glad to get an early read of this. Love these four and this installment had spice and also the real side of working through relationships which can be messy. Super cute & I’m excited to read how it all finishes up in book 4!
I am sitting here 😭 after reading this installment. I am so invested in these fictional characters and their make believe lives. I have absolutely loved and adored every word written about them. Until now. I feel so uneasy and disappointed by how things played out in this book. The last book we saw tremendous character arcs and growth especially for Nathan. He amazed me. Even Crew seemed to mature. But unfortunately, Crew has been such a disappointment that I honestly don’t know if he can be redeemed at this point. IMO
He seemed to regress and become very selfish and completely lacks self awareness. Also, his continued comments about now being ready for marriage was so over done and made me feel icky af. It just was like regurgitated so many times. And Danielle’s reaction to it each time was so not realistic at all. There is not a women alive that can sit thee and listen love and over and over to a man she loves and is committed to repeat how he isn’t wanting that and isn’t ready. It would hurt. Can she be understanding of his feelings? Absolutely. But after so many times of his fits about it, it would hurt. And the whole point of the series is them coming together in a poly relationship and how they form this beautiful family so when 1 person is not in that equation it’s yuck. It feels severely disjointed. And that comment about possible waiting until he retires to be ready…WTH . I’m so disappointed in how this played out. They are not the united front and family I anticipated at all. It’s so uneven now and feels not great. If they truly are a unit of 4 then it should be that they wait together until they are all ready. And it makes Crew look like a total jerk now. I went from loving him to feeling like he is a total F boy. He wants to sleep with her and get all the benefits of his lil family but he doesn’t want to take the next step. And he wants the other 2 Guys to marry he without him?! This is not the Crew we have all come to love. And Danielle having nothing but love and support back is making me angry. It’s like he has 1 foot out the door. Yeah yeah he says he is all in and wants nobody else but his constant whining about not wanting to be married…eww Crew, just eww. This book obviously was about growing pains and I expected that, what I didn’t expect is the whole thing feeling like it was coming apart and just about the physical stuff, their relationship feels cheapened in someway now. Not the feel good book I’ve come to know and love at all. And honestly, I can’t believe Nathan didn’t put a foot in Crew behind for acting like an F boy the entire book. And all of them not going to Decatur the 1st time….yuck. Even their reasoning was deplorable. Just no. I don’t understand what happened but it feels like I don’t even like the characters anymore. Danielle is so weak and accommodating with no real emotion other than horn* and forgiving. Doc was weird this book, Nathan came off as weak like Dani and Crew, just a huge disappointment. Can the last book redeem Crew? I dunno but right now it definitely feels like a girl with 2 fiancés and 1 FB on the side. Definitely not like a family. The final nail for me was Crews reaction to on the last 2 pages. Disgusting. Childish and hurtful. And Nathan just was like yeah we will deal with it. Throat punch him Nathan! Crew is ick now. And at such a momentous occasion, how could you allow him to behave that way?!
Cookie and Company’s dynamic throughout the book really helps make the relationship feel realistic. Having the characters actually go through struggles and have tough relationship decisions that don’t get solved immediately sets this book apart from others like it. The character development of Micheal realizing that he’s still growing and learning how to deal with this style of relationship and allowed to lean on the others for help really keeps you rooting for Cookie & Co.
Dani, Nathan, Michael, and Crew are back in another steamy, why-choose rom-com with book three in the Chicago Racketeers series, Seriously Pucked. This book explores the ramifications and complications of relationships beyond the initial honeymoon phase. Here, we see Dani and the guys (Cookie and Co) moving in together, permanently. Such a big move is already a lot with one partner, but having 4 people in a relationship makes it even more difficult. This new change is harder to adjust for some, and learning how to compromise is becoming increasingly difficult for Nathan. Meanwhile, Michael is having a lot of thoughts about taking his relationship with Dani to the next level. As for Crew, he is working to focus on his game. When multiple tragedies strike at once, it pulls each of them in different directions. This all forces them to navigate where they want their relationship to go and to have some difficult conversations.
The books in this series keep hitting! I really am loving getting to know these characters intimately as they navigate the different sides of being in a ploy relationship, from the good to the not-so-good. Although the guys are initially all focused on Dani as a partner (as they are only dating Dani and not each other), they soon realise that they need to be thinking and considering the other guys as well, and how important it is for them all to figure out what they all want in the relationship and come together and compromise in order to get their HEA. Of course, on the way to the HEA, there are ups, and there are downs. But can they learn to develop deeper relationships with each other and navigate in this new relationship they have all embarked on? From family emergencies to dreaded work parties, the story is a perfect mix of heart and emotion, fun/banter, and of course, heat. I really enjoyed it and I look forward to reading the next book in the series.
Again, the narration (just like the previous 2 books) is excellent! Featuring a full-cast narration, this time performed by Penelope Rose, Sebastian York, Royce St. Cloud, Zachary Johnson, A.M. Elizabeth Kay, Victor Quixabas, Aryann Michele, and Robert Hatchet, all the narrators brought every moment to life. They brought emotion and levity, as well as fun to their performance. I loved it!
Thanks to the author, Emma Foxx, and the team at HomeCooked Books for providing me with an advanced audio review copy of this book. All opinions provided in this review are entirely my own.
Seriously Pucked is the point in the journey of these four people when life gets real! Where the shinny new object doesn’t shine all that brightly all of the time. Where the outside world is not so easily ignored. Where their relationship gets tested. Getting to experience their journey back-to-back enhanced my experience with the story and I am overjoyed I got to experience it this way. I’m not exactly sure what the time frame was between books when this series/serial was first released, but if the timeframe wasn’t short, I feel for past readers. LOL My experience was enhanced because not only is the story highly entertaining, but no matter what happens, these four are in it and that just makes my heart want to burst. Also, I kinda didn’t want to leave this world, so there’s that! :)
✔️ We got the get to know you and see where this goes in Puck One Night Stands. ✔️ We got the meet the parents in Four Pucking Christmases. ✔️ And now we get the good, bad and in between of a relationship involving more than two people once the dust has settled from the nothing matters but this great sex we’re all taking part in (lol) in Seriously Pucked.
I am so ridiculously in love with this entire story! This is the book that has solidified Emma Foxx as a one-click author for me. She continued the journey of four people into territory that would test the bond they so quickly formed without ever steering the story into overly dramatic behavior and unrealistic dramatics for drama’s sake! How fantastic is that?! For almost 8 hours I kept waiting for that proverbial shoeto drop, that too many authors love to drop, but it never really came. #winning
🎧 NARRATION: YES, these narrators are still doing a phenomenal job bringing this story to life! So much so, that I now don’t think this serial should be experienced any other way!! Also, Penelope STILL gets 10 stars! :)
The latest instalment of the Chicago Racketeers does not disappoint in any way. This book is not a stand alone and continues the journey of Dani, Crew, Michael and Nathan (Cookie & Co) in a way that keeps you invested in their relationship and makes you want to know what comes next. I could not put the book down, I just wanted to keep reading.
I love reading about Dani, Crew, Michael and Nathan's adventures and am looking forward to the next book in their story. This book deals with the reality of living together and merging lives and I particularly love that the characters are all growing and changing at different rates and in different ways as we get further into the series. I also really enjoyed reading the set up for Luna's book/s, I can't wait to see how her story turns out.
The combination of Erin Nicholas and Erin McCarthy writing as Emma Foxx is sublime and I hope that they will continue writing together.
Seriously Pucked continues Dani’s story and sees her moving in with her guys and them dealing with their relationship beginning to change. I really loved the first two books of this series and I was looking forward to this one releasing and it didn’t disappoint. It had all the humour that I loved in the previous books as well as drawing some other strong emotions from me. I absolutely loved reading this book and the story was fantastic and an addictive read. Overall, a great book with a slight cliffhanger that has me looking forward to the release of the next book already. I would recommend giving it a read.
This four constantly forget that they are actually all in a relationship together and piss e/o of by doing things without considering what the others feelings. They make it really complicated for themselves that way. They also all have very valid feelings about the relationship that they just magically forget or aren’t explaining why they feel or what to change to not feel that way anymore, they also never apologise or even acknowledge that it was something they shouldn’t have done It’s also way to long this will be the 3rd Novell and it has a novella too Sports romance even if Danielle has 4 boyfriends don’t need to be this long ever !
I was lucky enough to be chosen for an ARC of Seriously Pucked by Emma Foxx which is my first ever. This was such an amazing 3rd book installment. It was so real about the relationships and dynamic of them and how they are hard work. I loved watching the growth of everyone but especially Nathan. If you love hockey romance with a why choose trope this series is for you. Can't wait till the 4th book comes out in May! #whychoose #whychoosehockeyromance #hockeyromance #hockeyromancebooks #sportsromancebooks #emmafoxxauthor #ARCreview
Gerrr! This book was so good, I'm bummed it had to end. But seriously, this whole series has been amazing. With most romance, the book ends as soon as the chericters meet a mutually happy moment, like forming a solid relationship, getting married, or having a child. You don't often get to see them sort through the ups and downs of real relationship life. Book 1 in this series could totally have been a stand-alone, but I am so excited to see these 4 integrate into one anothers life.
I really appreciated that this one showed the complications of a poly relationship. All 4 individuals maintained that they were in this for the long haul, but they also didn’t deny that there are issues that will come up in a non-traditional relationship that none of them ever thought they’d have to consider. What made the group stronger was their ability to talk and work through everything (even if I was pretty angry with Michael for a hot minute). Can’t wait to see how things play out in the fourth and final book.
"I want to be the woman that you want a future with" Dani whispers.... "The kids, the house the vacations, the experiences the memories... Her words holding so much emotion... As the 3rd installment of this series, I loved everything that came out in this. As this series is getting ready to come to a close in the next book, I am looking forward to the spin-off, with Luna's story!!!!
So happy I was able to get an early read of this! This book is another glimpse into the lives of Dani, Nathan, Michael, & Crew- this time navigating all living together! The spice is fantastic and I loved seeing them all navigate this new chapter of their relationship and what life throws them along the way. Super excited to see how everything plays out in the final book, but I’ll miss this foursome! If you’re looking for an easy read series with hot spice and dirty talk? Look no further!
Just like the previous two books this one delivers with sweetness, love, and spice! I love the dynamics between the guys and how they all learned that they compliment each other and how they each also need the other along with Dani to have the fullest happiest life. Can't wait for the finale!
I just adore these characters. The first two books of this series are mostly sweet, and this book has a lot more conflict. It feels very real and human.
I think it’s so hard to have a really well-rounded RH in under 700 pages, so I’m REALLY happy that this clan has multiple books! 🩷 can’t wait to read the final book this spring!
I absolutely love this series. I can not wait for the next book. They are hilarious. Dani has a different dynamic with each guy but I love all four of them together.
I loved getting to read these characters again as they deepened their relationship. Life is complicated and messy; add in two more people and chaotic doesn't even begin to cover it. Excellent book.
This was probably the most boring of the series. The stories kept going in circles. Yes Dani has 3 bfs but we don’t need to keep reading how great and well they treat her. Dani was described to be the most useless in this book. It’s like she couldn’t be her own women and came out kind of heartless in the sense where it was all about her. I’m all for pampered princess but this was taken to another level of just spoil brat. Makes me not want to finish the series off if the next book is similar
I was kind of dissatisfied with the dynamics of Cookie and Co. in this book. I want Crew to have his bisexuality be able to be explored! I was hoping we would get that in this book, but no. Maybe in the next one?
Love this easy to read rom com series. Sometimes it’s nice to take a break from the normal psychological thrillers I usually read. Great story line even if unrealistic at times.
This book honestly just made me feel all sorts of anxious while they worked through the growing pains of their relationship. Not even the spicy scenes were enough of a distraction because it was constantly waiting for the other shoe to drop/next issue to arise. I'm glad the series is ending soon and I really think 4 books could have been a duet instead.
