My book buddy, Lette Reads, referred to Ladii Nesha as The Mistress of Mess and I cannot think of a more appropriate title. Insert the sound “Boy we had a time last night” here because, a time was definitely had. All of Rah’s hard work has finally paid off. After selling mixtapes out the trunk of his car, standin’ on the corner passin’ out hundreds of flyers, recording in the friend of a friend of a friend’s “studio,” and performing at hole in the walls he’s signed a lucrative contract with a major record label. Our boy is goin’ big time and he’s taking everybody with him. That was his first, second, and third mistake. Rah’s loyalty was both a blessing and a curse. He was the quintessential rapper who wanted to share his success and put everybody on but, unfortunately for Rah, his devotion to his friends and family blinded him to how deceitful they really were which, allowed them to take full advantage of him. Everybody ain’t your friend and just because their blood don’t make them family was a running theme in Rah’s circle. Taylor is a BBW influencer by day and waitress at one of the hottest clubs at night. Sis is livin’ her best 24 year old life. When she’s not taking care of her three guys (her daddy, her little brother, and her grandfather), she’s constantly stroking the ego of her toxic, clingy, insecure, and psychotic azz boyfriend. To say Jasper had an unhealthy attachment to Taylor would be a huge understatement. Jasper is cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs and he definitely has an upcoming episode on 48 Hours, 20/20, and the ID network. As always, Ladii Nesha came through with a cast of sidekicks that practically stole the whole book. Kiki, Kool, Trooper, and Papa gave us top tier comedic relief that had me rollin’ from start to finish. And, lets give the villains of this story their flowers because they earned them. Emory, Sherri, and Jada showed up and showed TF out and I don’t mean that in a good way. Finally Famous was a phenomenal read. The storyline was engaging, it was funny as hell, and the romance between Taylor and Rah was a breath of fresh air. I've come to expect nothing less than greatness from a Ladii Nesha production and sis did not disappoint with this book.
