This was a bit too short for me. I know I should’ve known better because of the length of this, but it just rushed through things too much to be fully enjoyable.
I thought the first sex scene came waaaay too early. It was very direct and had little build up to it, so I found it jarring. Regardless, the other sex scenes were quite enjoyable and steamy. I found myself wishing they had been longer (or there had been more of them if this had been a longer short).
When it comes to the characters, they left much to be desired in terms of characterization. I didn’t dislike them, but we didn’t spend enough time with them for me to feel much of anything for them.
Finally, the amount of commas missing in this novella were distracting as hell. I try to be merciful with self-published stuff but it was a little too much for me in this one.
At the end of the day, this had enjoyable bits. It wasn’t all bad but it wasn’t all great. Therefore, I don’t regret reading it but I was expecting to get more out of the reading experience.

4 stars. Remy is everything. All of that BDE? Whew. I loved this novella. Ava Freeman is one of my favorites and for good reason. She knows how to write fantastic F/F romance and the smut is always top level. This novella was not different. Loved it.

2.5/5 stars. This wasn’t bad or anything, I just believe it could have been a bit longer and have more story to it.

This story helped me kick my reading funk because it was short and steamy, two things I knew when I got myself into it. Though the sex scenes were amazing (very descriptive, explored emotion, and made you feel), I feel like the plot was meant for a longer story. I know us lesbians move fast, but wow, I kinda wished the pacing was a little shorter. Other than that, I enjoyed it for what it was and I'm glad to have found a black sapphic writer.

Short and Sweet
Soooo, a girly pop on Threads recommended this short story and I loved it! I read it to a great friend of mine and we thoroughly enjoyed how detailed it was. We are definitely the type to enjoy a good read long or short. I think Ava did a wonderful job with the characters and progression pace of the plot. I recommend reading it and setting a chill vibe while you enjoy this short but sweet story.

Just Wow
What a steamy, sexy story. Once again Ava Freenan does not disappoint. She writes relatable stories with believeable characters. I saw some of myself in both characters. Kudos to the author and keep em coming please. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because it was too short. When it ended, I wanted more.

Remy and Asha are high school classmates who meet and get a second chance to take a risk they were afraid to take in high school. The story is interesting with just the right amount of spice. The author leaves you craving more... can Remy and Asha build on their chemistry ? I can't wait to find out.

great writing and story and...
it was so good right from the start. I really liked Asha. I felt like I knew her very well very soon. And the writing was good. The pairing wasn't really my cup of tea though. sorz. it just felt heteronormative and I know that's crazy to say for an wlw book but yeah. I just tried to picture Remy as a femme too but it was hard

I loved this!
This was sweetly romantic and the steamy portions delightfully well-written. I loved how Remy remembered Asha as a nerdy bookworm and wanted her attention, and how Asha despite trying to keep a self-protective emotional distance still tried to treat Remy right. Can’t wait for more of these two!

Short and sexy just like I prefer it. The whole story was hot sex between a femme and a stud. The right way. I was rooting for them to get together because their chemistry is definitely fit for more than just being friends with benefits.

Wow, very sexy story. I couldn't get enough of it. The only bad thing was the shortness but I knew that coming in. I hope there's a continuation of their story in a longer book.
