Feels half done
The main story, the focus of Holly and Niall, wraps up pat. Ish. But everything going on in the background that brought them together lays there like a snarl of frayed yarn. He never calls his brother back about whatever had him so upset. She slut shamed her best friend, that she oddly never talked to outside that 1 scene, and never followed up with her after the wedding from hell. They never follow up on the stalker neighbor who possibly is a bad guy. We never discover if she gets both forms. Scenes jump randomly. As in they're at the office, then at his place, but the office is mentioned like they're there again, but they're actually at her place? There's a really easy test to see if he can have kids. She's a medical professional, she should know this. She knows he cycles, but never asks if she will. They run away from a potential bad guy who knows where she lives but after the cabin incident just hang there for a week or so? It doesn't make sense. He's had literally centuries to learn about witchcraft and how he and his siblings can protect themselves. They've done nothing. Nothing. Some of the banter was really harsh, just nasty mean. And he shared blood with her before but this time is different? Too many plot holes, too many contradictions, too many ideas floated but never followed up on. And as allergic as she is she should have an epi-pen. Which makes that office scene almost horrific. Because if touching regular skin makes her swell up and blister, where his hand was had to feel like a freaking blow torch was lighting her on fire. It takes 26 seconds for chemicals to be absorbed by regular skin and show a reaction. Mucas membranes are significantly less time. Three blinks and she'd have been trying to pack the area with ice. Or claw it off.
