Niall Cael had been spellbound and cursed centuries ago. Torn between craving blood and needing a mate for monsters within him, he is forever alone and despised. His entire family had torn apart by hatred and pain, bringing an end to the world they once knew, scrambling to hang onto this new one… until he met her.
Holly Baines could not believe the awkward way the handsome man was coming onto her, in the middle of a crowd of runners. There was something about him that was different, instantly setting her blood afire... and her allergies wild. The attraction was intense, but so were the sneezing and the hives!
When a known threat resurfaces, will it destroy everything they have built together and the tenuous mated blood-bond between them?***Delve into a dark contemporary, paranormal romance where the everything is exceedingly normal... until the fangs come out!
The main story, the focus of Holly and Niall, wraps up pat. Ish. But everything going on in the background that brought them together lays there like a snarl of frayed yarn. He never calls his brother back about whatever had him so upset. She slut shamed her best friend, that she oddly never talked to outside that 1 scene, and never followed up with her after the wedding from hell. They never follow up on the stalker neighbor who possibly is a bad guy. We never discover if she gets both forms. Scenes jump randomly. As in they're at the office, then at his place, but the office is mentioned like they're there again, but they're actually at her place? There's a really easy test to see if he can have kids. She's a medical professional, she should know this. She knows he cycles, but never asks if she will. They run away from a potential bad guy who knows where she lives but after the cabin incident just hang there for a week or so? It doesn't make sense. He's had literally centuries to learn about witchcraft and how he and his siblings can protect themselves. They've done nothing. Nothing. Some of the banter was really harsh, just nasty mean. And he shared blood with her before but this time is different? Too many plot holes, too many contradictions, too many ideas floated but never followed up on. And as allergic as she is she should have an epi-pen. Which makes that office scene almost horrific. Because if touching regular skin makes her swell up and blister, where his hand was had to feel like a freaking blow torch was lighting her on fire. It takes 26 seconds for chemicals to be absorbed by regular skin and show a reaction. Mucas membranes are significantly less time. Three blinks and she'd have been trying to pack the area with ice. Or claw it off.
This book right here..☆☆☆☆☆ all the yes.. I love a good 5 star novella .. something to zip through but also leave you wanting more.. blessings to a series.
I've always been more of a vampire over werewolf kind of girl but a vampire with a curse that condemns him into being half werewolf was a plot twist I wasn't aware of needing til now.
A paranormal masterpiece that had me literally laughing out loud.
Niall and Holly are quite the match. Holly is a dentist with allergies towards canines, which makes it difficult for Niall to pursue Holly as his destiny, adding an element of comedic relief.
I love how Holly had zero interest in Niall at first (at least on the surface) but Niall allowed the space for her to come around.
Twin flame energy with a lot of heat.
A great read for those looking for a steamy paranormal contemporary romance that'll have you turning the page non stop from beginning til end.
🐺🦷I don't understand how it'll works if she's allergic to him.
🐺🦷Holly doesn't take any shit from Niall so why the heck she was speechless throughout Karen's karennes?
🐺🦷Well you gotta read the series if you want to finish the mystery. In this book the witch aka Cairene just entered their life. I'm not sure I'll be reading the whole series tho. And about this book..... It was going really good but I thought something will happen which never did. And Holly's transformation was portrayed like a mundane thing which bugged me. It is what it is I guess.

3.5 Stars This story has an interesting supernatural concept. The summary doesn't do it justice so here goes: A thousand years ago, a step mother felt betrayed and angry so, she sold her soul killed her husband a week after the wedding and cursed his children. All are immortal and have supernatural powers. The can never be physically near each other or else they will weaken. Niall and Conn got double cursed. Niall is part vampire and part werewolf. This is a kind of slow burn story because Holly rejects Niall for a while. Holly starts off funny and strong. After a while, the dog jokes get old. But for that and the need for more editing, this would have been a 4 star review. If you read this book, do NOT skip the foreword.
This was a quick read just for giggles and…..mistakes were made. AI narrator but I tried to push through. The theme and one liners are so cringe….they’ll live rent free in my head for some time. Like “mutt with a terrific butt.”
Started out good. Had potential to be great. The dog jokes were a bit much and there were a lot of teeth/dentist references. We get it. She is a dentist but that was a bit much.
