The inspiring stories in this book illustrate the joys, trials, adventure, and spiritual power of missionary service. Dean and Tom Hughes have researched Church history and conducted many personal interviews to gather these accounts of missionary experiences for We'll Bring the World His Truth. The authors have included stories of missionaries overcoming trials, spiritual experiences of missionaries as they have taught, and miraculous events that missionaries have witnessed. The stories come from those who have served in Europe, the Far East, America, Canada, Russia, Africa and other lands.
Dean Hughes is the author of more than eighty books for young readers, including the popular sports series Angel Park All-Stars, the Scrappers series, the Nutty series, the widely acclaimed companion novels Family Pose and Team Picture, and Search and Destroy. Soldier Boys was selected for the 2001 New York Public Library Books for the Teen Age list. Dean Hughes and his wife, Kathleen, have three children and six grandchildren. They live in Midway, Utah.
This book is about Missionary Work with the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, from the beginning of the Renewed Church. From 1830 to 1995. It's very interesting and inspirational for members now and beyond. I was amazed how difficult it was for the early missionaries. I'm sure the missionaries nowadays will be amazed that it could be a lot harder than now.
