Everyday God: Finding Hope and Help in the Daily Presence of God

Rate this book
We all desire a meaningful personal relationship with God because that is what we were created to experience. The problem is that the rhythm of our busy lives means we often only pause on Sundays to step into His presence. That approach will always disapoint because God doesn’t work by weekly appointments. We may have penciled Him in on Sundays, but He gives us His attention every day – and He is inviting ours. That is the rhythm He designed for us!

The Everyday God devotional is your answer to meeting with God every day to grow the relationship you long to enjoy. With 365 scriptural interactions, you will step into His presence daily to hear what is on His heart and share what is on yours. Because the Bible is the unfolding story of God’s pursuit of those He loves, you will notice that story unfolding as the devotions progress. At the end of each devotion, you’ll find a thought-provoking question to help you develop the ordinary practice of everyday conversation with God. This personal and intimate exchange is the catalyst for the deepening relationship your soul longs to experience.

I enjoyed Kim's other books and this one is also a delight. First, it is a devotion to begin any day of the year. I have found that if a devotional has corresponding month/day, and I miss a couple, I feel guilty and give up...however, because this is 365 days--I just start back where I had left off. Each day has a life giving story/outlook and corresponding bible verse. And even though you are like--okay--how is this going to relate to my walk with God--somehow it does. Few authors in devotionals have figured this technique and "dry out" the devotion with lack luster stories and as a reader the thread that binds the story to the Word of God seems forced. Kim's gift of storytelling and finding God in everyday life situations gives me pause to reflect on am ever aware of God's presence in all things. I skimmed ahead and looking forward to day 180 "Pity the Fool".
