Parvati recently found out that magic exists—and her world has turned upside down.
Parvati’s plans for her eighteenth birthday involve apartment hunting with her friend. But instead, her godmother whisks her away into the woods—more like fairy godmother, as it turns out.
Now Parvati has to learn magic from Cyril, a fae mage. He’s good looking and they share an unmistakable connection. But then he starts acting cold and distant for no clear reason.
Cyril cannot deny the bond he feels to Parvati, but he’s forbidden to do anything about it.
Secrets begin exposing themselves. Parvati discovers her newfound magic can save or destroy the world. She and Cyril must band together to defeat the evil fae set on destroying the world.
Tutored by a Fae is the first book in the Fae of the Hazel Woods series. The Fae of the Hazel Woods books can be read in any order.
As I was going through all my unread books on my kindle this morning, I decided to choose one at random and go into it completely blind. Had I done even a little bit of research, I don't think I would've read this one.
You see, I'm not a fan of novelettes.. I'm not really even a fan of novellas. Everything just happens way too fast and I can't fully connect with the story or characters.
I honestly didn't get the "enemies to lovers" vibe nor did I feel the chemistry between Pavarti and Cyril. I even struggled with the fact that Pavarti had only known about/"practiced" magic for a few days before defeating some who is powerful and has been apart of the Fae realm for who knows how long. It just didn't make sense to me.
This one was a miss for me but has more to do with personal preference than the book itself. I seem to be in the minority for this one. I'm just adding my voice into the mix for those readers who have the same bookish taste that I do.
On her 18th birthday, Parvati's godmother shows up and takes her on a trip where she finds out that magic exists. But not is all it seems as Parvati meets the hot mage fae Cyril and must figure out what is really going on and who she can trust. Made me laugh and want to slap everyone at the same time. I enjoyed the story and had to see how it would all play out.
This was a great book and I am looking forward to the next one. The characters were intoxicating from the very beginning. The plot is straight forward and easily followed and the premise seems to be opening the gates between dimensions. There are lots of twists and turns and more than a few red herrings. I believe you will enjoy this story as much as I did.
I couldn't put this book down until the ending! The plot is full of twists and pulls you in. The characters are brave, realistic, and one is a jerk. I recommend this book to everyone who loves the paranormal, romance, suspense and magic. This is a great read!!!
What a great book. I loved how Parvati was thinking she was human but she was not. I am glad she found her mate. Hannah was very calm about everything so quickly too.
Parvati is surprised when her godmother picks her up on her 18th birthday causing her to have to cancel her plans for the day. She has NO idea just how much her godmother is going to change her life, make that "FAIRY" Godmother.
Parvati is supposed to do what? Cyril will teach her what? Why is her godmother rushing them? What's with the mysterious journals and cave? Should Parvati do it?
Action packed, full of suspense, I was unable to put it down until the end. Another clean, standalone with a HEA ending.
I received an ARC copy from the author. Review voluntarily given.
