This started off good, with the classic premise that Candace is looking for love and it’s right in front of her.
But it kind of spiraled into a lot of misunderstanding, so it was frustrating. They’re friends, but I saw no real reason why Khane couldn’t tell her how he felt especially after he told her he was a prince and other secrets were coming out?
And she thinks he’s heartbroken the whole time about his ex fiancee cheating on him and he never thinks to tell her he’s over it?? He says at one point that by sleeping with Candace he’s showing her that, but I think words would’ve worked much better!! I don’t think he ever mentions it the whole time.
So that back and forth is frustrating to me. Just talk!!And then it gets very weird when she tries brewing up a love potion?? That felt out of place.
And then he has to leave and doesn’t come back when he says and I know it’s probably for the sake of a dramatic entrance later but it’s never explained why.
Soo I don’t know. They were cute together and I liked that they called each other best friends, but the lack of communication and some other weird parts made it just an ok holiday read for me!

- Dating app - Dating sabotage - Boy next door - Candy and Khane...Candy-Khane. - Virgin mmc (but lots of training for royal reasons or whatever, I am not complaining) - Stripes = blushing - He's a prince, surprise
Candace's father created a dating app that is supposed to find your perfect match. Which is funny because it seems to work for everyone but her, which is embarrassing. But at least she has her hot alien neighbors to vent to. Why can't the men on her dates be like Khane? Khane adores Candance and thinks the app is ludicrous, and he might be trying to make sure that her dates are losers so she can see that he is everything she needs. The only hang up? Candace has to make a a perfect app approved match before the Christmas launch event in order to keep her fancy penthouse apartment.
This was a fun one. Tinder for Aliens, but sort of more like...oh what was that site called? eHarmony! It calculates everything based on compatibility and not looks or money or standings and it's supposed to find matches for you based on all the information you input into it. Die-hard users of the app are lovingly nicknamed "Appies" in the book and it's completely amusing.
Khane is basically the perfect man, it's kind of unfair that he's not real. Or maybe he is and Rena has a secret communication with fancy aliens somewhere she isn't sharing with us. Yes, he manipulates the situation so he is able to put him in the situation to woo Candace a bit. But who can be mad when he makes love muffins with you in the kitchen despite thinking you might actually be a little crazy?
I have to say I have been reading this Holiday series by all these different authors and this is pretty much my favorite. Although they all received five stars because I loved all of them this one just had that something special. Candace is a human living on a space station, and from my understanding it is a huge space station. Her father is the inventor of an app that is used for dating. Whether it be human to alien or human to human. And she was signed up to find her one true love by a Christmas party or she was in trouble. She was granted a huge penthouse apartment by the sponsors of the app, with the idea that she was going to find her mate. Problem is she’s in love with her neighbor. She is best friends with Khane and his bodyguard, Tonnie. What she doesn’t know is he is an actual prince and his bodyguard is his brother. But Candace and Khane become the best of friends. They are secretly in love with each other, which is kind of funny as they work their way through their relationship. This book is so cute and funny that I literally stayed up all night reading. It is amazing. I loved thst the last chapter in the book or the epilogue really pushed you into how things turned out so you really got look into seeing what their future was looking like.
Candace has herself in a bit of a pickle. It's do or die (not literally) time to find herself a match via the IDA and all the matches she's had recently are complete duds. In fact, the only bright point on her dates has been spending time with her next door neighbor after as they conduct a thorough post-mortem.
As much as she might be hardcore crushing on Khane and like EVERYTHING about him, Candace knows he's not an option. Candace needs to have an IDA approved match and Khane won't join the app. So they can smolder at one another, make serious eyes, maybe get a little handsy, but nothing more than that. Right?
HA. Wrong. Khane has it bad for Candace and Candace has it bad for Khane. And once things get taken to the next level, there's no going back. At least until Khane gets called back to his home planet. Yeah, there might in a little speed bump in there.
Several AWFUL first dates, a matchmaking bodyguard, a prince with his heart on the line, and a lady who found her special someone, she just needs to figure out how to make things work.
Stories don’t get much swoonier than this. I decided to read the whole Holidate series and this is my first. There’s not a lot of background on why Candace feels so relaxed with Khane and his bodyguard Tonnie. Is it because they are aliens or just the fact that she’s not dating either of them so not trying to impress? Obviously her “real” personality is far and away more attractive than when she tries too hard. One small hitch for me is that she’s had three years to let the app find her a husband yet it seems she waits until the last month or so before using it.* Would losing her penthouse really be worse than marrying some dolt? I’ll assume that Khane didn’t recognize his feelings for Candace until he realizes he may lose her altogether.
Over halfway into the story when I realize that Christmas is only an incidental mention as a deadline so far. I’m not complaining, just sayin’. No tree decorating, garland stringing, carol singing, etc. There is magic muffin making, however, which is pretty hysterical.
Nice wrap-up and epilogue. Candy-Khane: Really?
*It’s later revealed that Candace had been on a few other dates.
Such a delicious romance! Look what’s right in front of you. Candace seems a bit short-sighted when she selects just humans in her father’s dating app. Especially since she lives right next door to a couple of fine looking alien males. Then again, they don’t have a profile on the app. Poor girl, she’s awkward on those first dates. Very understandable, in my opinion. They’re complete strangers. But, she has a problem and a deadline to meet. Khane, her neighbor is a sweetheart! He’s willing to help, but he’d rather keep her for himself. This is a delightful, must-read romance with a HEA. Take some time to see how Candace and Khane work through their issues. I love it!
Candace needs to find a match before the holiday party. Her father has developed a dating app and his sponsor has given Candace an apartment, which she can keep, as long as she presents her match at the party. Yet all the dates she's she's had have been losers. So she enlists the help of her best friend Khane. Khane and his brother Tonnie are neighbors of Candace and spend a lot of time with her. Khane needs to find a mate and wants quirky Candace. Considering the lack of communication about feelings, it's no wonder there is so much angst for Khane and Candace. Can they ever get this resolved?
Fun set up with a dating app and neighbors who are a prince and his bodyguard. These romances sometimes remind me how to think in a way that counters low self esteem. The MMC gives this advice to the MFC, reminding her of her own self worth,
“He wants a goddess. And you are his goddess. He’ll offer you immeasurable wealth, shower you with love and affection, and be prepared to know that your needs must always come before his.”
Finding a partner in the real world like this is unlikely but it does remind the reader not to settle. The whole story is about the MFC not settling for less than she deserves.
This is another really fun read for this multi-author series and I enjoyed how the romance came together for Candace and Khane. She's awkward on the dating front and her father is the developer of the IDA. He issues an ultimatum to her and she ends up recruiting Khane to help her out. He's been crushing on her for a while but has been resisting until he just can't any more ;) Their story hit me as a friends to lovers romance and I love that trope. Adding in how sweet and steamy this one is, well, it's hitting my re-read shelf to enjoy again and again ;D
Khane was so adorably sweet! He tried to show Candace she was special just as she was. She’s a quirky, sweet and beautiful female, just perfect for Khane. He is hoping she will see him as a potential mate, so to insure his chances, he “helps” with her dates.
Candace, has issued with picking losers for dates. She compares them to Khane, but her deadline is drawing near. And so far, no one has made her feel the way Khane does.
So, will he show up when she has to pick a husband? I voluntarily read a advanced copy and all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Poor Candace has to choose a suitable match using the Intergalactic Dating Agency app which was created by her father. The thing is she really wants her alien neighbor named Khane. They have been friends for some time. Little does Candace know that Khane wants her too. He does everything in his power to disrupt her dates through the agency. Khane has to leave for home planet for an emergency. What is Candace going to do now when all she wants is to choose Khane? This is a sweet alien romance with the best ending ever!
I smiled a lot while I read this book! The characters are realistic and believable as well as easy to connect with. Candace is on a deadline to find the perfect guy. Khane is waiting for her to see the truth, and Tommie is the sidekick dropping hints that don't get picked up. I enjoyed reading the story and the relationship that existed between the three of them. It was fun to read and had a beautiful love story embedded in the friendship that was like just the core of this whole wonderful piece of fiction!
I loved all the old earth sayings and how Khane just eats it up and plays along with Candace. What a funny story. Her father and his app are quite something yet Candace never seems to get mad at him over it. Tonnie is the best kind of side kick too so all the characters are just great together. The epilogue is the perfect ending too. Thanks for tying it all up in a bow. Great read!
A super adorable romance featuring a sexy alien next door neighbor and a sweet awkward heroine!
I love these kind of stories. They give me feel good vibes and make me all warm and toasty inside. This one felt especially adorable and cute. I loved the set up and the general storyline. 5 stars for me!
Love these short holiday alien romances! This one involves an app that's supposed to match you to your perfect mate. Candace, the owner's daughter, has already found her match with next door neighbor/ best friend/ prince Khane, who helps her escape the human males who are definitely not the right match!
So this is the first book I have read by this author, and I completely loved it. I loved all the interactions between the main couple and how it built into a relationship. A bit of humor, a bit of spice, and everything nice. I plan on checking out her other books.
This story was so cute with a qurickie heroine who uses old fashioned Earth sayings and the Alien Prince that loves her. As she goes on blind dates set up from a dating app, her best friend ( the prince) is there to rescue her every time. Eventually they fall in love and get their HEA.
I wanted to like this more than I did. I feel like there was too much backstory that went unexplained about Khane’s family history and hierarchy. It all felt a bit glossed over and I’m not sure I understood it.
Then suddenly out of nowhere in the epilogue Amelia is a dragon shifter for some reason!
I absolutely loved this book. It had all the necessary ingredients. There's romance, friendship, spice, a few tears, but mostly laughs. Oh, and gorgeous alien males, lol. I will definitely be reading this again.
This story gets a little muddled from time to time, but it's so sweet, so quirky, so deliciously Christmas-miracle lovely that you'll gobble it up, grinning and giggling.
Okay. I’m actually kind of torn on how I feel about this book. On one hand these characters annoyed the heck out of me by not communicating but then on the other hand it was a cute story. So overall I guess I liked it.
The storyline was unique and the characters were mostly likable. I laughed out loud throughout the book. Couldn’t quite figure out that dating app business, but the book was a great holiday novella.
Khane is at points, delightful, fun, bemusing, and complicated. There are many elements in this holiday mix. I found it difficult to push through this book and I normally love Rena Marks’ books. Read How My Jingleballs Saved Christmas. It is sooooo good!
Candace and Khane’s story is sweet, funny and spicy. I enjoyed Candaces’s earthly sayings as much as Khane did. A nice short Christmas story to read on a Sunday afternoon.
This was an absolutely amazing book. It contained so many humorously sayings and funny quotes. The characters were all very interesting as well. Khane’s brother Tonnie was my favorite character. Excellent reading.
I prefer light and cozy romances, but this was a bit too silly for me. There just didn’t seem to be much of a reason for anything the hero or heroine did. I would direct readers to the author’s Match Program series, instead.
The book was interesting having to do with being match by a computer to find your perfect mate. It has humor, drama, finding the perfect match, steamy sexy scences that are hot but not over the top with awseome characters? A must buy book and worth reading.
Candace has to find a match before the launch of her father's dating app. Her neighbors have always been there for her but more so, Khane. Until one day she has to pick and she wants Khane.
I loved Candace and Khan's book. Hilarious, especially the love spell part. This book was so good that I just had to read till the end. Though with that ending, I would have loved to read Tonnie and Amelia's story..
