When Faye first took over her aunt’s esoteric bookstore and got caught up in a supernatural murder mystery, she thought she’s had more than her fair share of paranormal hijinks.
Now that the dust has settled and life is starting to feel normal again, out of the blue a friend who works for The Vatican shows up asking for an imposing favor.
As Faye tries to juggle the new responsibility hailing from The Vatican and her budding romance with Luke, one of the students in his meditation group vanishes into thin air.
The missing student also happens to be the heir of the influential Jasper family, further complicating matters and casting a shadow over their quirky sea-side community.
As if that’s not enough on her plate, tension reaches a boiling point as Faye attempts to learn the secret behind Luke’s unique powers, making him feel like he’s a mere guinea pig.
Can Faye, Luke, and their “Cabinet of Curiosities” band together to unravel the conspiracy and find the missing heir before all hell breaks loose in Paradise Cove?

3.75 STARS My advice with this book for anyone contemplating reading it, would be to read the first in the series before taking this one on. It is a good story once you get into it but, having not read the first one, I was very lost for a while. When the meat of the story kicked in it was quite enjoyable. Some really good characters (the demon cat is a hoot) and I did go back and purchase the first to catch up before the next is released. I received a free advance readers copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving my honest opinion of the tale.
Faye Constantine has taken over her aunt’s bookstore and is settling in. She gets a phone call from an old friend, Sarah Prescott, asking for a favor. She urgently needs a box or two held for her, which sounded strange but harmless. So she agreed. Sarah hadn’t asked about her new address, yet suddenly showed up with a massive truck to unload the boxes. She admitted she was part of being the Vatican’s security team and could not give her much information. With the vault no longer safe, they needed to move a few things. She brought out a cat, a huge Maine coon cat, and introduced Lord Morax’s familiar, Amster, inhabited by a minor demon under house arrest and kept under control by a shock collar. This was more than Faye was ready to accept. But Sarah convinced her to do this for her.
Faye becomes friendly with a new member of Luke’s meditation group who is having odd dreams. When he disappears, Faye, Luke, and even Amster work together to solve the mystery. There is much more at risk. Will they find Oliver? And will Faye be able to convince Luke that she really cares for him and he is not a mere science project to her? There is much going on in this story line, and I leave all the metaphysical to the author to walk you through. But I enjoyed all the action as Faye is learning her way around this new environment she has become a part of.
Book Two in the Faye Constantine Cozy Mystery series, having inherited her Aunt's Mystic Eye book store is finally starting to settle into her new life in Paradise Cove. And she has this new and budding romance with Luke, the leader of a meditation group. And now there is a new student, Oliver who joined the group. Then all of a sudden, Faye gets a call from an old friend, Sarah Prescott who asks a very strange favor. Can she keep two boxes since they have to be hidden for a while and she can't tell Faye more because it is attached to the Vatican. Reluctantly, Faye says ok. One of the things Faye has to keep hidden is a minor demon in cat form, Amster, who is controlled by a shock collar. And so the adventures begin especially when Luke's new student goes missing! And the Jasper family fighting to gain control and upset the balance. Now it takes Faye, Luke, the group and even Amster to battle to make things right again! Add to that and we still have Faye trying get used to her growing powers and her abilities. This book is full of mystery, adventure with a little humor thrown in. It is a fantastic series and I totally recommend it to everyone! Once you begin, you just can't put it down. I can't wait to see what Faye, Luke and the group get into next and I loved Amster and hope he continues in the series. I received and ARC of this book but the opinions expressed here are strictly my own.
Faye’s life gets a little more exciting when an old friend drops by and leaves Faye the package she said she’d keep for her, not knowing it was a minor demon confined in a cats body and that he can talk to her and others within her group.
Oliver mentions that his mentor, Sam Jasper, is missing and they try meditation to reach the metaphysical realm to see if they can find him. However, even with his brother helping, they seem to be stumped but Luke helps Faye become more aware of the realm and encourages her to try and find her area within it to reconnect with her ancestors. Luke and Faye’s relationship progresses to the next stage and they all have some exciting adventures in the metaphysical realm which takes the minor demon, Amster, to get them out of some tricky and tight spots , showing even demons may not be all bad-at least not Amster! There is a really sinister reason Sam has disappeared and it takes all of them, including Amster and Faye’s friend and her group to save them finally from dark magic that threatens to destroy the town!
If you like stories dealing with the metaphysical aspect you’re surely going to like this book and series because this is the second book and like the first it deals with that topic throughout the book!
This is a good cozy mystery that will have you wondering whether our heroes will survive this latest adventure they find themselves in! I enjoyed it and recommend it as one I think you’ll enjoy as well!
Adapting to her role of owner of the inherited bookstore and exploring her new relationship with Luke, Faye Constantine is surprised by a visit from an old friend. Sarah Prescott needs a favor and she brings a minor demon captured in the body of a cat needing temporary shelter. He is controlled by a shock collar with an emergency remote control. Thus begins a captivating, chaotic adventure filled with magic, mystery and malevolent forces, which will require all the positive elements working together to restore order and save the world. There is much for Faye to learn about her powers and her spiritual connection with Luke. She will need to be a quick study in order to prevent the Jasper family from gaining control and destroying the vital balance. With the aid of Amster (demon/cat), Faye, Luke and their allies will battle to keep their metaphysical world intact, but will they succeed? The characters are interesting and the storyline entertaining while occasionally getting bogged down with technical information. There is some switching of tenses, which is a bit jarring. Amster is a wonderful addition to the series and I’m hoping he becomes a regular, providing a much appreciated dose of humor and amazing courage. I look forward to the next book.

When Sarah, a friend Faye Constatine hasn’t seen in years calls and asks her for a favor, she reluctantly agrees. When she arrives with a box stating she is a security team member for the Vatican, Faye wonders why she agreed without knowing all this. And when Sarah states that the Bunker, the nickname of the Vatican’s vault is no longer safe, out pops a large furry and dark Maine coon, a talking cat with the name Amster who states he is a minor demon and “the most loyal familiar for Lord Morax” who is now in the witness protection program. Faye’s job is to keep Amster safe and hidden. Too late to take back her agreement to help her friend, she agrees. When Faye and friend Luke Delacroix are asked to help search for a missing man, they wonder if Amster can help in finding the missing person. This interesting and paranormal story kept me engaged and entertained as Faye, Luke and Amster begin to search for the missing person and discover dangerous secrets. This is my honest, voluntary review of an advanced reader copy of this book.
It's PURRFECT! Faye takes over her aunt's bookstore. She soon discovers though, that it's much more than a simple bookstore. She discovers a hidden room with magic filling the air. She practices going into deep meditation, allowing herself to visit other dimensions. I would love to have this power! Luke is her male love interest. Their relationship is blossoming, but then Luke starts to feel like a project, when Faye is trying to help him discover and explore his own powers. She must convince him of her true feelings for him. On top of that, Faye gets an out of the blue call from an old friend Sarah, asking for a favor. She shows up, without even being given the address. She brings in a huge Maine coon cat, who is actually a trapped minor demon. The Vatican needs her to watch him. Then one of their meditation students disappeared. The have to race against time to get to the bottom of it all. The book was wonderful. There are many twists and turns.
Faye has taken over her aunt's bookstore and is slowly coming to get it organized. Oer at least a facsimile to organized. Luke is helping her learn about the metaphysical sense and state. But Luke wants something with Faye but feels like she's only using him. Then they have a talk and she tries to get past her insecurities. Somehow Faye becomes the babysitter for a minor demon trapped in a main coon cat's body. To make matters worse a man goes missing and Luke and Faye start to think that someone is trying to bring back someone who died. Will they solve the puzzle before all chaos breaks loose? And will the minor demon be able to help? And why is he stuck in a cat's body??? An adventurous mystery that will enthrall the reader!!.

I did not enjoy this book as much as the first. It seemed to take a very long time to get to the paranormal conflict that eventually got to a somewhat satisfactory conclusion. There are plenty of twists and turns but they are mostly in metaphysical space. Thank goodness we had Faye to do all the mathematical equations and algorithms or we would have stayed grounded in the book store! This story introduced us to Amster, a captured minor demon who has been encapsulated in a cat's form and is under Faye's lock and key. He seems to frequently slip free and is a major player in helping Faye rescue Luke and Oliver. I do look forward to reading more about Faye, Luke and their meditating circle of friends.

Just a wonderful series. This novel continues from the first. Faye is new to town and she is discovering that there is more to the world around her then she was taught to believe. She has been in town long enough to feel that she is somewhat settled. She has developed a circle of friends and even a new boyfriend. With all of this an old friend from the Vatican arrives unexpectedly. She is here to ask a favor. She has brought a minor demon, who is captured in a cat, and controlled with a shock collar, oh my, this on top of managing the bookstore and then a friend from her meditation group. How much more can she possibly handle? You will have to read and see. This is my true and honest opinion.

We’re back in the Mystic Eye bookshop, and when Faye receives a call from an old college buddy Sarah asking her to look after some boxes. Faye agrees and Sarah appears with the boxes and a very unusual cat called Amster, a demon who has been imprisoned in the cats body. Luke and Faye are still getting to know one another, while working on their budding relationship, when one of Luke’s meditation students goes missing their mission is to find the student before it’s too late. A bewitching paranormal read which did take me a few chapters to get into. The characters are relatable, I loved Amster, and I look forward to reading book 3.

When people come, asking for a favor, make sure you know what the favor entails before agreeing. That may be especially good advice if the people asking for a favor are representatives of the Vatican. Vatican City has the resources to handle almost any issue all on their own, so needing a favor means the problem is probably a bit outsized and overly serious. It may be better to deny the favor and run quickly the other way. On the other hand, having the Vatican in your debt may be worth the chance. It's kind of like letting a genii loose from a bottle - that was intended to be a prison for a reason - there may well be physical danger involved. Faye Constantine simply agreed to the request, and her life became much more complicated than she even anticipated.
Faye Constantine’s friend Sarah Prescott calls her on the phone for a favour , she needs a box or two holding for safe keeping , no sooner does she agree than Sarah is there larger than life and knocking on her door. How did she find her new address and what’s with the big Vatican security truck outside?…Suddenly in possession ( excuse the pun) of a demon/cat Amster, Her and Luke are growing closer , and when his friend Oliver ( who happens to be an heir of the influential Jasper family) from his meditation group suddenly disappears after having had strange dreams it’s up to Faye , Luke and Amster to find him and restore order in the metaphysical world and stop the Jasper family gaining control….

When I started this book I wasn't sure if I was going to like it any more than I did the first one, however, then it jumped in gear. I read the book from start to finish in one setting! There are so many twists and turns to the story that you totally feel immersed in their world. New characters and stories to go along with them. I hope to see this continue into the next book and hopefully more after that! Love the new talking cat, Amster and can see a lot of new stories with Amster as a big part of the story. Bring back the talking parrot and it will be great!!!!!.

Faye and Luke make big strides on Faye and Oliver's metaphysical inroads of learning and practice. Then Sarah brings a package of great importance for Faye to take care of. The story was fascinating but also very confusing in places for me as I know almost nothing about metaphysics. As the book progressed, I was absolutely amazed by what I learned and how much I loved the book. I know the story is a long way from finished, although it is not a cliffhanger. I can't wait to dive into the next challenging book to see where it takes Faye and Luke.
Faye the owner of the book store “ Mystic Magic” gets a call from Sarah Prescott who wanted her to take care of some boxes for her. Sarah leaves her with a talking cat “ Amster” who was a ghost in a cats body . Luke who had special music powers was her friend. Sam Jasper one of their friends had disappeared. Faye goes about trying to solve this mystery with the help of her friends. Lots of humour and mystic magic . I received this book via booksprouts and leave a honest review. I recommend this book to other readers.
What isn't to love about this series? Magic, blooming friendships, talking cats, family secrets and romance. New to town and still finding her way Faye is discovering there is more to the world than she was taught to believe. The core group continues to grow and get to know each other and a new furry friend learns to be a friend as well. Great character development and unexpected action full of twists and turns make this a super fun book to read. Once you read one it isn't enough and you will find yourself reading them all and hoping for the next one.
I took awhile to get into this book, but, once “in” it I really enjoyed the read. It starts off with Faye & Bart in The Mystic Eye bookshop. Faye gets a phone call rom her friend Sarah to ask her to look after something for her. She agrees & immediately Sarah us there with a huge, very black cat. A prisoner of The Vatican Vault. He’s a demon now imprisoned in a cat body. Luke & Faye make a strong synergy when together & together they manage to sort out a rather complex problem with a little help from Amster (the cat).
Come to Paradise Cove and visit the The Mystic eye Bookstore. Faye recently inherited the book store from her Aunt. Fayes friend asks her for a favor, which she agrees too, only to find out she has to "babysit" a minor demon in the form of a cat!! When a friend goes missing, the gang goes about searching for him. watch as Faye and Luke grow closer in their relationship. unique story and characters. I read it all in one go.

I enjoyed this sequel that was based on some complexities that the author explains very well but sometimes my brain was a little slow to process. However, the overall story was easy to read and I didn't want to put it down once I started. I am looking forward to reading more of Faye and Luke's adventures as Faye continues to work on her thesis. The only missing character was Oz the parrot. I loved him from the last book and hope he returns in a future adventure.
This series has me absolutely spellbound! I absolutely loved The Seer-ious Business of Murder and The Purr-sistence of Paranormal Problems! This series is jam packed full of all the best paranormal cozy mystery components:
Faye is asked by an old college roommate to hold a few boxes for the security of the Vatican. She has room at the bookstore so that shouldn't be a problem. SO you would think. Follow along as Luke and Faye have to solve the mystery of one of Lukes clients and a prominent family's son who goes missing. Easy and quick read that you won't want to put down until the end. Love Ada Rayne's writing.

When Faye comes to a quaint small town, she has no idea how her life will change. We meet a demand that has been locked inside the body of a cat. Some witches and a special magical who she is attracted to. This story plot takes us on a series of mystery, intriguing plots, self discovery and love. I really enjoyed reading this book in the series and look forward to reading the beginning.
Book two is a hoot! Faye has a lot going on in her life, the bookstore, her new love interest Luke, hiding a few things as a favor for a friend and a missing student. Wow! that is a lot and this book is full of adventure, humor and mystery. I love all things paranormal but throw in a mystery with a minor demon in cat form controlled by a shock collar and the fun just keeps on coming. I can't wait to continue reading this series.
This is an entertaining, fun read. I enjoyed the mystery and the paranormal aspects of the story. Faye is an interesting, strong, intriguing, fun, relatable characters. The secondary characters add to the fabric of the story. The quirky ones are fun to read 😊. I also enjoyed the romance between Faye and Luke. These two spark. The story is easy to read and get into.
This is an honest and independent review given on a book that was a gift from the author.
Faye is back. An old school friend asks if Faye wants to store a few boxes from the Vatican. She agrees but is very surprised to see then contents. A fun, feelgood story with charming characters. Faye is back in the second book and she is trying to get her aunt's bookstore in order and Luke and Faye are working things out because they had a talk and then Faye gets a talking cat named Amster and this is where the story gets really for me because now she learns about Amster. So good.
