Caveats first. I hated the main character. From the very beginning, I disliked her. Her excuse for everything is, "I just have to." As an adult, I recognize that there are things that we just have to. . . like pay bills, go to work, care for our children. This woman feels she just has to be a mother, so she's undergoing treatments to make that happen. There's nothing wrong with that, but the therapy has detrimental side effects to her health. When her husband has the temerity to suggest that they might want to take a respite from the treatments. He is suddenly called unsupportive.

He is from all indications loving and supportive and she is just, "I just have to do this." She drops the "we" and is single-minded. She then becomes obsessively paranoid about the neighbors. Everything she does is selfish, unmindful of consequences and repercussions.

I couldn't get into this book at all. I read it from cover to cover, because I think if I'm going to write a review, I owe it to the author. I didn't need to finish, because I predicted that the author would end this exactly as I expected.

This was a waste of time. There was nothing socially redeeming about the content. I really think that the ending is the worst part. There is no justification for inappropriate behavior. Nor is there a justification for the delusional paranoia that seems to be excused by the dénouement.

I really hate to be so cynical about an author's work, but the main character behaved like an entitled evil villain. If that's the moral compass of this book, then I don't want any part of her. My apologies to the authors.

Don't waste your time.

It was a ridiculous storyline along with a most irritating lead character named
Georgia.
The ending was so stupid and unbelievable,
Story telling, fit for a 10 year old.
Nothing breathtaking about this thriller. I was only thrilled to put it down.

Behind the neighbors door

This book was very slow and boring until the last chapter. I skipped through a lot of it. No spoiler but the ending made me wish I had never started it. It left a lot to be desired. I don't recommend.

Action starts LATE

The first 55 chapters are pretty much all on repeat. The action starts in Chapter 56 and the book ends soon after that. Quite disappointing.

I really enjoyed this book. I felt that the characters were interesting and that the plot was not something I've read a million times before. I did get the feeling towards the end that some of the characters were not who they said they were, however, I did not anticipate the ending being what it was. Overall it was a good read and I would recommend it to friends.

The first 55 chapters are pretty much the same chapter, all on repeat. In chapter 56, there is some important action and shortly after that, there’s a CRAZY twist, and then a RIDICULOUSLY unlikely twist, and then the book is over. Quite disappointing.

E a partir daqui, tudo muda. ENG REVIEW: Another ARC that left me stunned because it was so good. If you're like me and love psychological thrillers full of twists and turns, this one is perfect. Georgia is a woman who thinks she has the perfect marriage and husband, a good job and a wonderful house that she recently moved into. But things aren't quite like that. Georgia suffers the sadness of not being able to conceive a child, having undergone several very expensive and unsuccessful fertility treatments. Her husband, despite always supporting her, wants to take a break from these treatments to see if Georgia's body rests and due to the big hole in the family budget they cause. Meanwhile, a long-awaited job promotion doesn't go well and goes to her best friend. Already going through a very delicate situation, feeling alone, she begins to feel watched by her neighbors, the Morelis. And from here, everything changes. Nobody is who they say they are, and Georgia fights against everything and everyone to prove that she is right, despite being known for being a bit paranoid about some things, and her obsession with proving that there is something wrong with the Morelis makes her life falls apart and she ends up having to fight for her family survival. The ending is unexpected, taking into account that forensic science nowadays is quite advanced, so nothing makes the outcome suspicious. I love this author's writing and the short, quick-to-read chapters. The book is expected to be released on October 23rd and you can pre-purchase it on Amazon. I received an advance review copy for free and leave this review voluntarily.

I finished reading, "Behind the Neighbor's Door" by Winter K. Willis last night and I was surprised at the ending. It leaves me with the question as to whether there will be a sequel to this story. I liked the novel and think the storyline was good, but I did find too many instances where the main character, Georgia, was saying the same things over and over for e.g., she kept emphasizing on how dangerous the Morellis' were even though it was already established from the outset that Georgia thought them suspicious and were of grave concern. She also kept repeating on and on that her relationship with Justin was rocky and she didn't know how to change his mind about his views of the Morellis and how to convince her sister and best friend of her suspicions about the couple… it became too much for me, as a reader to keep reading about this and also very distracting. The author just focused too much on how Georgia was alone, and how no one believed her, and so on and although I felt very sympathetic towards her with respect to her fertility issues, I just felt that this character was too nosy for her own good and that this story was dragging.

I give this book a rating of three stars. There is a lot of potential for this author or authors I should say because the writing is superb, and the pacing of the novel was appropriate, but I was not too keen on the narration of the novel.

Thank you for the opportunity to have read and reviewed this book. I look forward to future book reviews for this author.

I received an advance copy of this book for free in return for a voluntary review. I was eager to read another of this author's books having enjoyed another of her works.

As in the other book( The Wife Inside) paranoia is a constant theme, manifesting in main character, Georgia. She is married to Justin and obsessed about having a baby. Several rounds of invitro fertilization have failed but she is determined not to give up or have a break regardless of Justin's opinion or the prohibitive costs, particularly as Justin has just lost his job. While glancing at the house across from their's she sees a woman in the window upstairs though her neighbours, The Morellis, insist, that only the two of them(a married couple)live there.

While compelling, I can't help feeling the twist in the story made it implausible. Add to this shoddy policework and incompetent forensic work, and I am forced to drop my rating from 4 to 3 stars. I would however, read this author again.

Georgia wanted to have children and they racked up over 15 grand getting fertility shots with no results. Her husband suggested she stop the shots for awhile but she didnt want to. Someone from her neighborhood told her that her neighbors were weird and to watch out for them. Georgia was under alot of stress from the baby issue and working hard at her job. Her and her husband met the couple one day. But Georgia started spying on them at night. She seriously thought they murdered someone the one night and called the cops and nothing was found suspicious there. But Georgia wouldnt give up. Her husband was beginning to think his wife was seeing thing and acting crazy. Her suspicions started to get annoying after awhile. Then the story had a unknown ending which changed the whole story shockingly for Georgia. Neverl would have guessed it.

This book really kept me on my toes all the way to the end. From the beginning of the book I really felt like the main character was right in her suspicions of her neighbors, but the author does an amazing job of making you question if you are really losing it just like the main character. Even at the end of the book when you think things are finally wrapped up and a light is shed on everything, you soon discover things may still not be as they seem. I really enjoyed the suspense and thrill of this book and look forward to reading more.

A Heart-Pounding Thriller

If you read The Wife Inside, you will enjoy reading this suspenseful narrative. The intriguing plot contains multifarious characters, descriptive settings, and moving dialogue. Georgia Lundstrom has fertility problems and doesn’t trust her sinister neighbors, the Morelis. Still, her life is about to face more disturbing happenings when the enigmatic Keith, a newly hired employee, is assigned to work with her on a project. Still, the plot takes an unexpected turn, exposing criminal activities, suspicion, secrets and lies, gossip, deceit, betrayal, desire, and manipulation, slowly building up to an ending that will leave you spinning and wanting more.

I want to thank Booksirens for a digital ARC book I received for free . Behind The Neighbor’s Door by Winter K. Willis, held my attention from beginning to end. Georgia didn’t trust her neighbors from across the street. She kept in trying to figure out what was going on at their house. Although her husband, her friend and her sister thought she was crazy. Well she finally figured it out. Who was the crazy one? You’ll have to read this incredible book to find out. Enjoy fellow book lovers! This was my personal review I am leaving voluntarily

Twist in the tale

What a fantastic book. Every time you thought thought that the main character was alone, someone would believe her. However, her paranoia got worse throughout the book. Whilst I began to
think she was paranoid, I knew that not all was as it seemed. The plot twisted right at the end. And then, just when you thought she was safe, there was another twist.
I would love for a follow up book!

A One-Sitting Read

This was a fast-moving tale from start to finish. Had a great story line and several surprises. There were a couple of gaffes in the action along the way,but nothing serious. I did, however, have some difficulty in liking and supporting Georgia through all her trials and tribulations; she just didn't earn my sympathy.

2.5 stars, rounded up to 3. Well, it was a quick read with a pretty unlikable character. Dialogue felt forced and unrealistic. The paranoia and obsession was presented pretty well. The twist seemed far-fetched, but, who am I to judge? Despite it all, I enjoyed the book shaking my head as it finished :)

So many words to get to the real story.

Over and over again: I can't get pregnant; I must keep trying; my neighbors are evil; nobody believes me. I'm surprised that I actually finished reading this book.

poor basis for the story line

Nothing made sense from the opening chapter. No foundation laid to explain her suspicions. No clues to her husbands betrayal. None of the storyline worked to me

Good

Pretty interesting story, but several errors spoiled it. Like the room was always locked, but when she broke in, she just opened the door

Love The Surprise Ending

The ending was a perfect set-up for a new book. Makes me want to read the next one and I'm not one to be enticed to do that.

**Three-Star Review for *Behind the Neighbor’s Door* by Winter K. Willis**

*Behind the Neighbor’s Door* is an intriguing read with an engaging premise, but it didn’t fully live up to its potential for me. The story has plenty of suspense and drama, which kept me turning the pages, but some parts felt underdeveloped or rushed. I enjoyed the twists, though I wished for deeper character development and a bit more polish in the storytelling. Overall, it was an entertaining read, but it didn’t quite stand out among similar books in the genre.

In "Behind The Neighbor's Door" by Winter K. Willis, Georgia literally thinks she's losing her mind. In this psychological thriller that had me glued to the couch, Georgia becomes suspicious of her neighbors across the street. Her subsequent obsession into finding out anything and everything she can about them makes her wonder if she'll lose her husband whom she loves very much. This book has a wonderful twist at the end that you'll never see coming. I highly recommend this book to all those who enjoy psychological thrillers and am looking forward towards reading more of his novels.
