Robert J. Crane was born and raised on Florida's Space Coast before moving to the upper midwest in search of cooler climates and more palatable beer. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in English Creative Writing. He worked for a year as a substitute teacher and worked in the financial services field for seven years while writing in his spare time.
I love how Robert J. Crane writes. His books are fast moving, with characters who are well described and become more real as the story plays out. This series is as good as the Girl in the Box series. The Girl Who Ran Away Is just as compelling.
Ava Garcia is still reeling from the loss of her best friend LL and her boyfriend Ty. Most people in town seem to believe that Ty is the one responsible for killing all those students during the “incident”, nothing could be further from the truth. Ty was a hero and he tried to stop the killer.
After all of the crazy that’s been going on in her small town recently, Ava is just as shocked as everyone else when it’s discovered that 4 people were killed just outside of town sometime during the night. With her only allies being Mia and Mr Jackson there’s still the first mystery to solve without worrying about the second one, right?
Brilliantly written and very well executed (no pun intended), looking at the world of meta humans from an entirely different perspective is really exciting and interesting. I’m definitely hooked, some familiar faces show up in this book.
Review 5 Stars “Listening To Fear” is a great addition added to the world of metahumans from the twisted mind of Robert J Crane. A young 17 year old shy girl learning she is no longer just an average quite teenager in a small town where a tragedy has struck. Ava Garcia wants to discover what has happened in her town and more importantly – why. The more she digs into the mysteries we find Ava has powerful friends she didn’t know about and also enemies she is unaware of. Those who have followed Mr. Crane know that the end is not the end, just the beginning of the saga. Well worthy of your time bring back to life other characters we the readers have come to love and hate. Teasers to enjoy.
Powered humans creating havoc, and the only one available to stop bad things is a scrawny teenage girl, going through all the teen angst, that has developed her own power. As usual, don't start reading if you have something to do later, 'cos you’ll still be reading.
Robert J Crane has a way of creating worlds that you can get lost in. I first read the Sanctuary series, then The Girl in the Box and now there’s The Girl Who Ran Away. I absolutely love the worlds he creates. Do yourself a favor and get lost in one now. You won’t be disappointed.
It's a great story! I loved the pop of Sienna, and the travel back in time to her earlier days 😀 i missed Kat working closer as part of the team. Can't wait for the next book! Another perspective of before metas were outted to the world. And always interesting to see how others perceive our Slay Queen in the Sienna universe
Good concept bringing Sienna into the story as it’s the same universe , however books 1 and 2 should’ve been combined into 1 book as they’re too short. Good thing I got it on unlimited.
So impressed and surprised in how smart the story have developed! Bring ing the blast from the past ( no spoilers ..lol) looking forward to Book#3 for leave at that.no promise you all you like reading this new saga!!
