Immortal Assassins #4

Endlessly Raphael

Rate this book
I was looking for a fake husband, but what I found was so much more.

Something was in the air the night I walked into the club. It was like the clouds parted and there he was, the most stunning man I’d ever seen. He looked like he could be fun for a few hours, but as night turned to day, I proposed to him. If I wanted my inheritance and to take my rightful place in my family’s business, I needed a husband, and Raphael seemed like the right man for the job.

When my family finds out, all hell breaks loose and long-hidden family secrets tumble out of the closet, putting me and my burgeoning happiness in danger. But Raphael has secrets of his own, and when he’s forced to reveal them, I’m faced with a life-changing decision. If he’s telling the truth, our meeting wasn’t a coincidence at all. I was only looking for a fake husband, but maybe this thing with us isn’t fake at all. Do I follow the path I originally set out on or listen to my heart and embrace a future that is Endlessly Raphael?

Endlessly Raphael is book four in the Immortal Assassins series, a contemporary setting, MM romance featuring vampire assassins finding love with their fated mates. Book four contains a vampire with an artist’s heart but a jaded outlook, a free-spirited mortal who needs a husband fast, a quickie wedding, a human family with dangerous secrets, and two fated souls finding love in a hopeless place.

I can’t anymore. If I have to read one more prologue where an innocent man in a shit position is essentially abducted by Yves, I’ll scream. He’s so fucking creepy.

Also, spoiler, his mates already a fucking vamp from his past (I read his stories synopsis.) All this sleaziness and manipulation for that to be the ending. Fuck that.

My Notes:
- Midnight’s book at 19% says Raph was a coffee connoisseur and found a blend and addicted others to it, but in Raph’s book at 25% he has a coffee machine and says he doesn’t drink it and had a glass of red “liquid”.
- Prologue says he was approached by Yves in 1772, but at 89% he says he was born in 1695 in Madrid. Difference of 77 years. At 91% he mentions not having turned 30 yet when imprisoned. Maybe supposed to be 1722? That made him 27 when he was turned.
- The dirty talk back and forth, especially around 22%? *muwah*Love it! This one was a lot more sexually passionate, detailed, and frequent in the spice scenes than the previous three.

**********Contains Spoilers**********

I rated this book 4.5 stars, so I rounded it up to 5 stars. I enjoyed this book and thought that it was another good addition to the Immortal Assassins Series. I would’ve loved to get more insight into Raphael’s life as a baby vampire and what made him into the vampire assassin he is today. As we got the prologue where he met Yves and his brothers, then was turned by Yves and became part of their family. I do find it strange that Yves has pretty much had sex with all of them not long after they chose to become vampires.

Yes, they were all adults and could make their own decisions but it kind of comes across as a tad coercive. As they’ll be getting the chance to either get out of the bad situation they’re in or finally have what they most desire, the touch of a man. The book then flips straight into the present day. Raphael and his brothers are hired assassins who take out the trash. They have a code that they follow, they try and only take out the truely evil, no children and hopefully no innocents.

They definitely do revel in their kills though. Haven is going through family issues, as they’re have pushed Haven out of the family business and basically disowned him as none of them are happy that he’s next to inherit the family business. Luckily his grandpa had his back and stipulated in his will that Haven will inherit what he’s owed he just has to get married within a certain timeframe. After meeting Raphael in a club and having a hot as hell one night stand, Haven decides that Raphael would be perfect to help him out and proposes.

When Haven explains to him the real reason he needs a fake finance Raphael tells him that he’ll let him know what he decides within 24 hours to decide, he eventually agrees to their fake marriage but It’s very obvious from the get go that nothing between them is remotely fake. It takes them awhile to truely admit how they feel as they’re both afraid to get hurt. I thought that Raphael and Haven were great together and their chemistry was off the charts. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in this series. It’s Thorn’s turn up next and I believe he’s going to fall the hardest. I’d recommend this book, series and author to others.

3.75/5 ⭐

Endlessly Raphael is the fourth book in Mia Monroe's Immortal Assassins series. I think it could technically be read as a standalone, but it's probably more enjoyable read in order. Here's what you can expect from Raphael and Haven:

🖤 MM paranormal romance in a contemporary setting
🖤 First person dual point of view
🖤 Guaranteed happily ever after
🖤 Vampire x human
🖤 Fated mates
🖤 Marriage of convenience
🖤 Jaded vampire
🖤 Scorned human
🖤 Found family
🖤 Low angst relationship

As always, ensure you review the content and trigger warnings to decide if this book is right for you. Note that this list of warnings may be incomplete. Please take care of yourself while reading.

“Why?” he repeats, keeping his gaze straight ahead. “I’d say because I didn’t want anything less than forever, and no one I met inspired that feeling in me. There was always something too big between us to overcome. I want it to be epic or not at all.”

I like that this story included the marriage of convenience aspect, as it wasn't something I was expecting when it comes to vampires! Haven was such a spunky character, and definitely a bit of a different vibe than the other humans we've met in the series so far. I loved Raphael and Haven's first encounter, and was quite surprised when Raphael agreed to marry him.

Raphael was certainly more closed-off than his brothers in the previous three books, but as we dive into his story we come to understand why. Now, I thought this book over-promised Haven's family's "dangerous" secrets a bit and I think that's why I left this one a little disappointed. As with the other books, although the story is enjoyable, the plot feels a bit rushed and haphazard with a lot happening in the very end of the book all at once. Overall, I enjoyed this addition to the series but it definitely hasn't been my favourite of the six books.

Raphael had closed his heart to the possibility of love and romance for a very long time. But he wasn't nearly prepared when Haven broke through all of his walls.

All Haven wanted was a good night of great sex, and the possibility of a fake husband. He never anticipated needing, or wanting, more. But more is exactly what he got.

To say their relationship starts off with a bang is a massive understatement. And it's not everyday that a vampire assassin gets propositioned with a lot of money, and a proposal for a fake marriage. But there's something about Haven that makes Raphael consider his proposition. Something that Raphael isn't quite ready to face.

For all that Haven has a plan to get back what's been unfairly taken from him, having Raphael as backup has its perks. And though their communication isn't as open and honest from the get go (and well, the whole vampire assassin thing can be a tough pill to swallow), they do get there.

But what I did like was seeing Raphael confide in his brothers about how he was feeling about Haven. He tried very hard to shut down the notion that Haven could be his mate, but he was also sure to take his brothers' opinions into consideration. And ultimately, that's really what led him to being able to open himself to Haven, so that Haven could truly, and completely trust him in return.

(Turns out the vampire assassin thing wasn't so tough to handle, after all.)

With the Orpheus coven slowly but surely finding their mates, we're obviously leading to one hell of a series conclusion. We've still got a couple books before we get there. And honestly, I'm really looking forward to how unhinged Thorn finding his mate may be. He is, afterall, the most unpredictable of the coven.

"I can't keep my hands off you."

"Don't. I like the way you touch me."

Oh I am just loving this series by Mia Monroe! The vampires are just so damn romantic! The way they talk is just so swooney it makes my heart sigh in a good way. I felt like this book was less angsty than the others. Raphael and Haven felt the pull almost immediately and they took advantage of those feelings shortly after. And their chemistry! It was off the charts hot!

"You want me to hurt you, Haven?"

"Yes. Leave marks. I want to look in the mirror tomorrow and see what you did to me."

I just loved these two together. Raphael may have tried to deny the fact that Haven was his mate at first, but it didn't take him long to realize his mistake. There were just too many signs. It was wonderful seeing his brothers be so thrilled for him. Even Yves, who is desperate for his own mate to appear, is overjoyed for his brother. Speaking of Yves, I know his book is last, but we do get a possible hint as to who is meant for him. It just seemed too coincidental for me to look past it and I'm sure you'll know what I mean when you read it.

Im excited that Thorn must be next. He's the one member of the family that has adamantly made his feelings on not wanting a mate clear. I think Thorn is a vampire with many layers and it is going to take quite the special mortal mate (or maybe mortals plural) to unravel them all. I hope we don't have to wait too long to find out!

**4.5**
I love the characters in this book, possibly my favourite of the series.
Haven is so confident and self assured when it comes to finding himself a husband to help secure his inheritance but when it comes to his current situation, he feels ashamed. Family drama is tense but Raphael steps up to assist Haven, doing his 'good deed' as he puts it but there is something about the young man he just cannot stop thinking about.
Poor Raphael has shut himself off from making other connections apart from the found family he has just from how much he was let down by others as a human. Haven has this personality and charm that just cannot be denied and they are drawn together from their first meeting. It's sad that he was confused by the strong feelings but it's so great another in the group has met their fates mate. Haven has quite the bit of family drama going on which the marriage is supposed to help with but when a father and two uncles don't want to give up the reins, trouble abounds. It gets a little dark and twisty, unsurprising when vampires are involved but it all turns out for the best for everyone involved.
These two are perfect for each other. Raphael gives Haven the love and freedom he needs, along with heat and intensity. Raphael gets a mate who seems to fit all of the holes in his life, and slots right in with the family too.
**Content warning - discussion of off page paid sex work necessary for survival (not detailed) talk of rape of MC but event does not happen**

Oh! Falling in love with a vampire shouldn't be as cool as it sounds but that is exactly what Haven thinks. He is such a fun, free loving character that is both confident and vulnerable. With a terrible family that is more greedy than loving, who come from some serious money, and who kick you out of the family basically to live in extreme poverty is enough to break anyone. But, Haven continues pursuing his dreams and makes the best of a crap situation. He is set to inherit his grandfather's company but he has to get married first. He has been looking but no one has caught his attention until he just happens to walk into a bar and locks eyes with Raphael. He knows, even if it's just for a hookup, he needs to get with him tonight!

Raphael has been alive (ish) for several hundred years and has given up on finding his one. That is until he sees Haven. He knows he is drawn to him. Can't be without him for very long. But, it always comes down to will the mortal be able to handle being with a vampire if they know what they are getting into.

I am so in love with this series. All of the vampires are bada $$ but also full on cinnimon rolls. Its such a great dichotomy. Mia writes fun, swoon worthy men and I always know I'm in for a great read. Each book could technically be read as a stand alone but I really recommend the series in order so you understand all of the vampire family dynamics. Especially Thorn 🫣🤭😈

Raphael and Haven are beyond beautiful together

Every time I read one of the books in this series I think that it can’t get better in the next book, and every time I am proven so very wrong. Rapha and Haven are beautiful together. This book very much focuses more on their relationship and their chemistry and it is breathtaking. Haven is such a strong person and so brave given the hurt he’s suffered. He’s like this amazing, shining star that just keeps getting brighter and instead of trying to tame him or catch him Rapha just wants to help him burn brighter. I loved that we got to see more of a slow development. I love the other guys’ stories too but I think this made more sense for Rapha. He’s got that quietness that the others didn’t and it felt like we needed to truly get to know him better as he’s stayed in the background more than other characters in previous books. I’m kind of sad that soon we’ll be coming to the end of the series. These guys are so amazing and their sense of family is something truly special. That being said, I’m so excited for Thorn and Yves’ books. I know Thorn’s will be wild and wonderful and little crazy and I hope Yves has the truly epic love he deserves. These guys are so wonderful and I know that even when we move in to spin offs and the like I’ll come back to this series because no matter how dark some elements are they’re such a sweet and heartwarming group of people it makes reading their stories wonderful.

This book was fun and a little different from the previous ones. Haven is down on his luck and looking for a husband on paper only so he can secure his inheritance before his greedy father and uncles can steal it from under him. He meets Raphael at a nightclub, takes one look at him and walks right up to him and seduces him into a steamy night together before presenting his crazy plan.

Raphael, feeling out of sorts one night allows himself to be dragged to a human nightclub despite not having much patience for them, and finds him instantly in the thrall of the sexy twink who storms up to him with all the confidence in the world. He finds himself saying yes to Haven’s proposition despite every intention of turning him down and he can’t figure out why. He refuses to entertain the idea that Haven is his fated mate because if he is, then he opens himself up to the possibility of being hurt and that is just unacceptable to him.

Haven is confident, fierce and sassy and I adore him. He takes everything in stride and falls quickly for Raphael when he sees how protective he is as he investigates what Haven’s family is up to. Haven isn’t just perfect for his mate but also fits with the family like he’s always been there. Can’t wait to see who finds their mate next.

I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.

This is the 4th in the Immortal Assassin's series, and really is best read as part of the series. This is Raphael's story, he is the quiet, artistic brother and I was so looking forward to him meeting his other half, and I wasn't disappointed at all. I am absolutely loving this series, these vamps are seriously romantic and even after several lifetimes, hopeful and open to finding their soul mates.

I loved Haven right away when I met him, he's femme, fierce and knows exactly what he wants. Right from the moment they lay eyes on each other, it's HOT 🔥. Once we start finding out more about Haven and his situation the story just gets better. I adored these two together and once I started this book, I couldn't put it down. The story moves along at a great pace and it's swoonsome, steamy, sweet and I loved it. I also loved that Haven totally embraced everything Raphael is with zero hesitation, and I loved the enthusiasm he had for joining him forever, it was refreshing there was zero angst.

I am loving this whole series, and I think the next story will be Thorn which will be great, he's so reluctant and resistant to fated mates, I can't wait to see him fall.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

This book can kinda be read as a stand alone but as always it is best if read in order, since one of MCs is part of a loving made family. Each book concentrates on a family member but all of the family members play a big part and appear in each other's stories.
This book concentrates on Raphael and his journey to finding his mate. Raphael's back story broke my heart so was very happy when he joined Yve's family. The loneliness might have lessen but did not completely go away, especially after his brothers found their mates. Little did he know Fate was waiting just for the perfect one, and in comes Haven, desperate to find a solution to escape his hellish life. A fake relationship was born but underneath true love was blossoming. They balanced each other perfectly well, each providing what the other was missing to heal their pain and lonely hearts. Haven was the sassiness and fun that the quiet and romantic Raphael needed. Raphael's sweet and tender love is exactly what Haven needed after years of emotional neglect.
There was also suspense, action, and humor, keeping me hooked and addicted. I can't wait for the next victim of Fate. Every character is intriguing, so whoever Fate chooses I'll be happy to read their story.

This was a really quick read for me and I'm still loving this series. The feel of this book was a lot closer to the first two. Meaning there's still outside action that is important to the story but we get a lot more of the couple and their relationship. We don't get to see a ton of the other brothers in this book but they do all make an appearance.

The fake relationship aspect was a bit unexpected from this series. It's not something that I normally associate with paranormal, but it worked. I especially liked that Haven wanted to find someone he had some sort of connection with and not just anyone. It made the fated mates aspect a little more authentic. The book has plenty of spice, and we get into a bit of kink as well.

So far, all the books in the series has the vampire coming in and saving their human mate. I like how Monroe is switching up the details so we don't feel like we're getting a slightly different version of the same story while still keeping the general feel of the series the same. I'm excited to get the last few books of the series and see all the brothers get their fated mates!

I received an ARC of this book from the author and this is my honest review.

I swooned so hard for this vampire fake marriage story. I just love the idea of a vampire assassin getting married, fake or not. I love the dichotomy of a romantic and mushy assassin.

These two have an immediate connection that confuses and entrances them. And though they are complete strangers these two become a dream team, supporting one another while trying to sort out what is up with Haven’s money-grubbing family.

Haven is awesome. He’s up for anything and completely trusts his instincts when it comes to Raphael. He has his vulnerability but is also so confident. I just love how easily they fit together.

And of course, the rest of the Oprheus team are as incredible as always with their love and support (and ethically murderous ways!). I continually swoon over how much they all want Yves to get his happy ending.

Haven might be one of my favorite characters ever. He was so delightful. He took everything that was thrown at him and made it better. Not only that, but he did it with flair and snark that suited him perfectly. He definitely had some family drama going on, but even that kept me interested and wanting to know how it would play out.

Rapheal and Haven were so great together. Even Rapha took everything in stride when it came to Haven. He didn’t have this big freak out when he figured out Haven was his mate, he just felt slightly unworthy of it. Yves corrected him of that notion pretty quicky. Rapha and Haven were so hot together too. Their physical chemistry was superb.

I am loving this whole found family of vampires. Each has their own personality that I am adoring. Looks like Thorn may be up next and I am so ready.

Raphael's story is sweeter and Haven is the reason! He just fits... he's that amazing combination of savvy and sweet and is up for anything - he just takes stuff in stride after being kicked out of his family and having to survive on his own... I love that he just owns himself - femme, fierce and fabulous and he stands up to everyone who wants to get in his way, but still has that little bit of naiveite.

With a fake marriage trope that is real from the get go, the chemistry between Raph and Haven is off the charts! I love the way their relationship burns bright and strong!

This is the fourth book in the series, but could be read as standalone if you needed to (I do recommend checking them all out though).

★★★★½ STARS!!
I definitely loved this book. The broody artist who needed some light and forever love in his life, waltzed in with fierce determination. Haven was the perfect match for Raphael. He had spark and was unapologetically him. The chemistry was undeniable and these two turned up the sheets.

I truly love this entire series so far. I love watching these vampires fall in love with their fated mates. It's filled with longing and protectiveness and fierce loyalty. I absolutely love it. Raphael was everything. And I know I keep saying this, but GAH...why are these vamps so poetic.....swoon. I enjoyed watching their relationship evolve and the storyline itself was very interesting and entertaining.

Endlessly in love, that’s me with Raphael and Haven. I think they may be faves in this series, the caveat being that I cannot wait—I’m cackling with glee—for Thorn to fall. Alongside them we have family drama, brotherly shenanigans, and vampires doing…well…bitey spiciness.

“His pleasure is mine. His cum, his sweat, his f*cking blood.”

Mmmm, yesss, these two are fire. On one hand we have stoic Raphael who by his very nature has me drooling, and on the other we have Haven, who shines like the brightest, beautiful beacon he is, and may he never change. Together they sparkle and I adore everything about them.

Raphael and Haven first meet in a club and feel an instant attraction. However, their casual hookup quickly turns into something more serious when Haven proposes to Raphael. Their relationship is not without challenges, including meddling family members and unexpected danger, but they ultimately make a perfect match. It's almost like fate had a hand in bringing them together from that first spark. Raphael is committed to protecting his fated mate and nothing can get in the way of a vampire's determination. This is a heartwarming, low-stress paranormal story with a happy ending. I can't wait to see which lucky people Thorne and Yves end up with.

Thorn is still my favorite character.

Raphael and Haven were cuties with all the feelings. They accepted each other unconditionally right from the beginning.

Haven really was a free-spirit who rolled with the flow. Even with the crappy way his family treated him, he was happy-go-lucky, and he stood up for himself against them.

And Raphael... all I have to say is... once is an accident, twice is a coincidence, and three times is a pattern. Being the fourth brother to find his mate, it's status quo now.

All I have to say is, the doubting if your mate is your mate, subtext is played out at this point.

Good read. Light angst with a whole lot of love...and spice.

I do love Raphael and Haven

It was pretty much love at first site even if they didn't recognize it. The pull was strong to ignore and how could they or why would they resist? Haven's father through him out of the house and family over money. His grandfather left him everything as long as he gets married. Raphael is everything he has ever wanted in a man so yes he is going to be his perfect husband. Little did either of them know that they are fated mates as well. Nothing is at what it seems, not his family and not his husband. Both will hold on to forever and whether anything his family can throw their way.

I do enjoy a good vampire book. However, after three other brothers have found their mates how can Raph continue to deny the fact Haven is his? It was a little frustrating to constantly have him deny it until almost 60% of the book. I have a feeling Thorn will be even worse since he doesn’t even want a mate. I am a little disappointed if Yves’ mate turns out to be someone from his past. Seems weird they wouldn’t have known before. Especially since Yves sleeps with anyone he suspects may be his mate then stops when he realizes they aren’t. I was so looking forward to his story and now I’m like 🤷‍♀️

I am so in love with Mia's Immortal Assassins! I adore Raphael and his brothers, the girls, the mates, ALL OF THEM! I can't wait for Yves' & Thorn's turn to dance with Fate & see who's left standing lol. Rapha & Haven meet totally by chance & just mesh, sparks fly, chemistry sizzles, and heartstrings Zing. Naturally, it takes a little doing to get family & feelings all untwisted, truths revealed, problems resolved, but love & fated mates and badass chosen Vampire families stick it out for the win! Love this book and series & eagerly await more!

Another amazing story in the Immortal Assassins series that I couldn’t put down! Haven is such a dynamite and just is so sweet and adorable even after what he’s been through. Raphael is the sweetest and so perfect for Haven. I loved how caring he was to Haven! These two had instant chemistry and I loved watching their relationship grow. Very sweet and enjoyable read! I don’t know who I’m more excited to see get their mate next, Thorn or Yves!! Highly recommend this series! This is my honest opinion of this complimentary copy of this book

I’m so in love with these mudery vamps. Raphael watches 3 of his brothers find their fated mates, though he doesn’t believe in it for himself. Dragged to a club by our baby Thorn, Raphael catches sight of a gorgeous man. Haven is on a mission to find a husband and claim his rightful inheritance, problem is he’s on a dead line and needs to have a good feeling about the person. Immediately he gets a good feeling about Raphael, their steamy hook up turns marriage, and then an accidental happily ever after.

This one was alright, a great continuation of this series. I don't think I vibed with either of the MCs that much tbh. It can sometimes be difficult for some authors to carry their side characters throughout a series, make the readers care about them enough to get to their own books. There were also a lot of plot points where I thought it was going in another direction, so they ended up falling flat for me. I definitely thought there was a more sinister plot afoot than there was. I've really been waiting for the last two, Thorn and Yves to get their turn, but it looks like Thorn's up next.
