Nadav Kander: Beauty's Nothing

Rate this book
Whether depicting desolate landscapes, the homeless, or the bodies of Cuban prostitutes, Kander’s photos illuminate the fragile, the ephemeral, and the disconcerting. Whatever the subject, Kander’s work shuns traditional categories.

no stars for this book, though I will say it at least had ONE photograph that was inspiring in terms of the lighting.

all the female nudes (and his LAME artist statement about them) were DUMB, and NONE of them seemed well composed or thought out at ALL.

There is a lot of writing in this book, short stories, poems etc. I did read ONE "All-American Girl" by Julia Alvarez. It is BEAUTIFUL. By itself the poem would get 5 stars from me. BUT in this book, NOPE. the short story I attempted was crass and vulgar and I didn't even begin to finish it.
