Contains spoilers: The ending felt rushed. I did not get the closure I needed with the “big bad” called the master. He transfers his consciousness into Sam, then Sam slowly takes back over his body and shoves his hand down his throat that explodes with power and boom, dead. WHAT?! That’s it?
I wish the Drax found out their masters plans to abandon them once he was done with earth and and a group of drax converted to the good guys side as double agents and we learned more about their lore and that some of them actually have more “human” sides, which causes the team to second guess their thoughts on the drax as a whole, and yada yada yada.
Really stretching science fiction but very entertaining
Just like book 2, the technology envisioned by the author was so far from reality that it is impossible to imagine anything like that being real. However, the book was very entertaining, fast paced and lots of fun. In addition, who knows what is really possible. For caveman, what we have now as technology would be magic. Even though what the author cooked up in this book seems magical, it did not seem to violate any law of physics that we know (except may be speed of light :)), so it is possible the technology does exist somewhere. In summary, don't overthink; just enjoy the book!
The story of earth being at the center of an alien conflict has been pretty much the hallmark of most alien conspiracies for decades. Personally the twist of this storyline is we being harvested for our dark matter energy; something our brain produces! That's kind of new and creative plot twist. Once I began reading the story I just had to continue. Thank God I was able to continue from one book until the next instead of having to wait a year before the next installment came out. The plot of this storyline I thoroughly enjoyed! I have already read some of Mr. Prescott's previous work so it was an easy choice of reading!
James Prescott writes with a deal of human pain, he understands family, friends, and those loyal to their Nation. I found a very close relationship between many of the characters in his story. The Fifth Kind brought a great deal of how loyal people are to the truth and the well being of each other. The journey this series of books took me on kept handing on every word. Want and exciting adventure? James will take you on one. Thank you Mr. Prescott for such a great story.
It's not a bad series in all. I quite liked them and I am looking forward to beginning Mr. Prescott's "Extinction" series. I am not sure about humans making dark matter in their minds, but can I say his theory isn't possible? No, I can not. It's more possible than needing a resource. Most of earth's resources can be found elsewhere and most likely more abundantly than here since we have been depleted many of our own. It may not be probable, but it is possible.
I love sci-fi stories that make you think. This one does because how do we know that there is not life out there and all the millions and billions of planets? I started with this book as my beginning, but I will definitely be reading the other two. To see how it started and I will have to read the extinction series. Also I’m an addict when it comes to reading. That has been my passion since I was a child.
The dark nova series, was well thought out, and the ending was so much better than I expected. (Lately I’ve been disappointed in the endings of too many TV series and book series).
Enjoy it and just think of the headlines as you read this
Thank you, James and looking forward to another great series.
This was one of the best series I have read to date. Some of the things in this book are so far fetched that it is almost believable. A great cast of characters too many to name but yet a great cast. If anyone loves science fiction this is one series for you. I recommend reading this book to all that love fiction and adventures. This is a great story.
I read both books. After the first book I was hooked. I am neutral on the subject of life on other planets. It was a great series. Anything is possible! I loved the characters and the were awesome. Shepherd, Peters, Douglas , Sam, Isadora. I couldn't put it down. Thank you Mr. Prescott. Keep them coming!
Awesome ending to the trilogy. Action packed from start to finish. Once I started this series I couldn’t put the books down until I finished them all. Definitely worth the read.
Great end to the series although I'm sad it's over. All three books had me hooked and I read them all in about a 2 weeks. Must read sci-fi thriller! Compelling story with characters you will love and lots of twists and surprises.
The characters were very human. Definitely villains and heroes. Love is long in coming in the story, actually not till the end but the buildup is there.
You have written very thought provocing ideas that should bring people to realize we may not be alone in the universe! I enjoyed the whole story! I look forward to more of your work! Thank you
Not a bad work, but it was a little slow for me and it took me a while to read was quite my total interest, but yeah, I’m reading the iron hand now I’d read the fourth meeting already show
