I can't wait to read the next book in this series. The end of July feels so far away right now, which is when the next book comes out. The book has so many twists and turns that are sure to keep you on the edge of your seat. So, strap yourself in and get ready for a fun and wild ride.
Although this book has some pretty complex concepts that pair well with the Sci-Fi genre, I still found it to be an absolute joy to read. I hope others enjoy this book as much as I did!
Awakening was not as good as Arrival. First, because the author forgot that Dr. Shepard was the one who told Jake he would be getting new legs from Darpa, but she was surprised to see him with the new legs. Why would he have to tell her something she already knew.
Second, I don't care who you are or how bad a mom you may be, but to just throw off the loss of a child is not something a mother can do. You could not possibly sideline the grief from losing a child that you carried in your womb for nine months. No way, no how, not buying it!
I have read a lot of books so do not tend to over rate books in reviews. This, the second in the series, was an entertaining read so I would recommend it. The plot is well thought out and the characters portrayed decently. If you like sci-fi with some mystery, this is good entertainment.
I liked the 2nd book more then the 1st. I think the writing is better in this one. It felt there was more depth, which I liked. The story is fast paced and there is always action. I like how Douglas’s POV and Shepard’s POV sort of overlap in relation to the information you discover and learn. It’s hard to accomplish doing 2 POV correctly but this author did a great job.
This book is mind blowing. Some of the technology talked about is years to the future if not centuries. Amazing what Mr Prescott's mind has conjured up. I was glued to this book, couldn't put it down. I recommend reading this to all that love fiction. Great story.
Found myself skipping multiple pages just to get to something that moved the story along without jumping from person to person and reading the same impossible situation over and over again. Maybe I'm just impatient but at half way I'm giving up.
My instinct showed a lower believable rating in both the characters and the story overall. Despite these thoughts, it provides a level of entertainment.
I liked the second book better than the first. The author's imagination, mixed with lots of interesting real facts and elements, creates a great mix for this story. Ready for book 3 to be released soon!
As usual Mr Prescott has woven a tail of mystery and suspense. The series does not lack go edge of your seat reading with a splash of science. Great read. Excited to read Book 3.
It is a very interesting look at humans and maybe where we came from. quite a few people we are not alone. What happens if they are right and we are really offspring of the races. I highly recommend this series books
The book dragged on and on. It started with great promise. However, soon it just seem to go into ridiculous theories. Anytime a problem happens, the author cooks up a new solution to the problem...At the end I was just left scratching my head...
This shows how to take over a population, harvest it and destroy it when done with it. Not too pleasant for those harvested. Thank goodness we have a group to help us for a price.
Found this part 2 to be better than the first book. I personally find the premise of the series interesting but it’s delivered in a subpar way with some plot holes but it is otherwise very fun read, think about it as a 90s era afternoon made for tv special and you will enjoy it.
