When an alien comes to Earth at the holidays with a list, personal shopper Caroline is tasked to help him find everything he wants…but what he wants is a bride.
Caroline isn’t a Scrooge, but the weeks leading to Christmas are not her favorite. The personal shopping department where she works is insanely busy and the clients have crazy requests. Plus, this is her first holiday being single after a bad breakup. So, when her last appointment of the day is a gorgeous, blue-skinned alien she isn’t too surprised. After all, everyone knows that aliens are real since a species of interstellar warriors revealed themselves and the fact that they’d been defending Earth for decades.
What does startle Caroline is that Griff isn’t looking for unique Christmas presents. He’s on Earth to find a mate.
Although she reluctantly agrees to help him, finding a bride for an alien isn’t as easy as it might seem, especially when word gets out that the hottie is on the market. Between the alien-obsessed women swiping right on his new dating profiles and the paparazzi dogging them, Griff is no closer to finding a bride. He is much closer to his personal shopper, though. If only she didn’t think loyal guys were as much a fantasy as flying reindeer.
Can Griff melt the ice in Caroline’s heart and convince her that good things do come in big, blue packages?
I love sexy aliens and independent heroines. I grew up on Star Trek: Next Generation and Star Wars (and I adore them equally). My favorite superhero is Thor (with Aquaman a close second because, well, Jason Momoa), my favorite dessert is key lime pie (okay, fine, all pie), and I still lament the loss of Firefly.
I live in North Carolina in the US and have one husband, two teenagers, and two neurotic cats. I sometimes wish I could teleport to a holographic space station like the one in my tribute brides series (or maybe vacation at the oasis with the sand planet barbarians). :-) When I'm not writing, I love to paddleboard, dive, travel, and read obsessively!
I had so much with this adorable, fluffy, alien Christmas read! Griff (H) comes to Earth to find a human mate quickly and accidentally is led to believe that a personal shopper at Saks Fifth Avenue would be able to help him. Caroline (h) ends up being his personal shopper and when she tries to explain that they don't matchmake, her awful boss pushes the issue that they can help him find anything on his list. His list by the way is a list of attributes he needs or doesn't want in a mate, like no mucus lol. Because he doesn't really know much about humans and he's about to get a crash course, these scenes of him figuring out humans and English were so good. Caroline's co-worker and best friend, Olivia, also gets in on the mate search and shenanigans ensue. Written in first person, dual POV. Tiny amounts of ow and om drama in that H is set up to search for a mate but quickly recognizes that he only wants h and h's ex pops up to cause a blip of drama. Neither character appeared to be a virgin, though I don't remember any history given for the H and it'd been a bit for the h.
Caroline and Griff bond as they're in proximity to each other and Griff experiences the hot mess that is Caroline, while also getting a taste of Christmas on Earth. Except even though the attraction and appreciation for each other are growing, Caroline's lugging around quite the ex-boyfriend and family baggage, creating walls and angst. The romance isn't quite insta-love, but it does happen very quickly. Griff also doesn't lie to Caroline, but he also keeps part of his identity and reason for needing a mate hidden, rightfully so given his situation. Of course it leads to conflict however. I didn't love the push-pull that happened with Caroline and her hang-ups, but I also wished that Griff had been more open with her earlier. He was also much sweeter and more up-front with what he wanted, while she was accepting of him but still giving mixed signals.
These two do have the realizations necessary though to get on the same page (plus Griff gets a little help from a character that I guess was in a prior series by this author) and they claim their HEA. There's only one steamy scene, but it was good and Griff isn't just different in terms of being a big, blue alien. I enjoyed the side characters too, esp Caroline's drag queen neighbor who helps them escape paparazzi in a unique way. The ending is HFN and adorable, but I wanted more. The story ends before they leave Earth and there's a vague understanding of what their life will be like on his home planet, but not enough to leave me completely satisfied. Still, I enjoyed this and relaxed into laughing at the funny scenes and aww'd at the cute ones.
Quick, cute holiday alien romance. Overall, enjoyed it enough as a holiday read. As far as alien romances go, it was okay. Very predictable but I expected as much going in. I was over some of the hypocrisy coming from Caroline but given she admits it later and apologizes, I let that go.
My demiromantic ass struggles with the concept of people falling in love with someone they've only known for about 24 hours. Caroline meets Griff as the last appointment of day 1 and by evening of day 2, they're making love declarations.
Caroline being a self-admitted walking disaster was a tad bit of a put off for me but I was willing to accept that her as Defining Character Trait. What really got me was the sheer unprofessionalism the whole time as well. Like ma'am??? It's one thing if she was trying her best but her inherent accidental chaos sometimes got in the way, but it wasn't like that. She was just constantly making super bad decisions and not thinking anything through at all. Maybe that's what a walking disaster is? I don't know, man.
When they first kiss, it was a little weird to me? The whole conversation made sense but then it felt like Griff kisses her out of nowhere. I was genuinely surprised because it seemed very out of character for him and soooo much more forward and initiating physical contact than he is the entire rest of the book.
I was a little wtf? by a few things here and there that I'll also point out in the notes - stuff that was not necessary and made me seriously squint at it. For example:
"Maybe I wasn’t the only one who found it annoying when tiny women dated huge guys." (p. 97) The fuck does that even mean? The FMC says she's 5'8" and the MMC is over 6'0". But why? WHY include this? This adds nothing to the story. It's not really in line with the rest of the characterization the book is giving her. 2 seconds later, she's also complaining about how she hates "mean girls" - i.e. the short woman she was just being unkind towards in her thoughts. It's hypocritical of her and I just did not understand why it was even in the book.
Is this supposed to be Caroline's genuine take here? Weird, since she also says her beloved bestie is short. Is she just being extra bitter and jealous here? But the way it's worded implies this is an established opinion of Caroline's and not some new, temporary thought she's having over the seeing the shorty with the alien MMC.
"Even in a form-fitting dress that left little to the imagination and highlighted every ridge and bulge, Griff was the hottest guy I’d ever seen." (p. 131) What do you mean, EVEN IN A DRESS? Especially this dress? Like the implication that guys can't be found attractive while wearing a dress is WTF. But the weird gender issue especially makes no sense given that this dress apparently highlights his physical attributes she finds attractive? So why are you saying he's hot despite the dress??? This sounds a little transphobic to me.
3.5 stars This was cozy and very much Instalove, despite the description sounding like it might take a lot of time and effort to win Caroline. I liked Griff and his ridiculousness and generally sweet nature. Both he and Caroline had their own baggage, and found a good jumping off point for the future. I dropped my rating because there were a few comments that edged too much into “not like other girls” territory.
Spice: 2/5
Triggers: cheating ex, brief unpleasant encounter with ex, toxic parents, terminally ill parent, mention of past parent death, misogyny (not from MMC)
Are you ready to indulge in some holiday cheer and heartwarming romance? Look no further than Christmas with an Alien by Tana Stone. This delightful and flirty sci-fi romance features charming characters who will take you on a heartwarming journey in search of love.
The story revolves around Caroline, a young woman who agrees to help Griff find a mate. But she doesn't expect to fall in love with the big blue hunky alien herself! Their journey is full of fun and humorous shenanigans during the festive season, which kept me engaged and entertained throughout. With a perfect balance of angst, romance, and steamy moments, this book is a satisfying read.
✨"... From the moment you banged your head on that desk and agreed to help me, I knew that I'd found the one... " - Griff✨
Don't miss out on this gem of a holiday romance!!
👥 Dual POV 📚 Standalone with HEA + Epilogue 💋 Safe
I received an advance review copy for free and am leaving this review voluntarily.
Griff is on Earth to find a wife. In this story, we (humans) are aware that extraterrestrial life exists and it is welcomed and accepted by most. In this world, human women are prized and valued as brides and there have been many marriages. He is directed to Caroline, a personal shopper to help him find someone. This was a nice holiday romance. Well paced, I didn't feel lost. Both characters were likable. I just *knew* Griff was hiding something of importance (and it is not that big of a surprise, you suspect what it is).
This is just the type of book that I needed to ease my way back into reading after being mentally annihilated by university. Christmas, sci-fi alien romance that felt like cotton candy.
This book does nothing revolutionary. It utilizes some very perhaps overdone tropes… like an Alien trying to find his perfect mate. Griffin (H) for some reason thinks employing a personal shopper at a fancy as heck department store to find him his ideal life partner is the way to go. Overlooking this absurdity, it was still really cute. I love dual PoV. Caroline (h) is his personal shopper who has to become a matchmaker, but instead, they fall for each other.
Speaking of the romance, I feel like their first kiss was out of left field for Griff’s characterization. I don’t know if I see a strong tension in romance, but this felt lacking. Then there was a bit of unnecessary drama… like I hate the ex comes out of the woodwork trope. Then, her mother… I kinda wanted a follow-up with how that b**** handled the whole marriage to an alien thing.
Additionally, I am a tad confused about the awful boss who thought pressuring her employees to help someone… shop for a person… was appropriate. But Miranda was really a shitty person and there is justice with her. To be honest, I haven’t read a contemporary romance in which TikTok plays a somewhat important role but it is kind of funny how this story will be very dated in a few years.
Overall, pretty fun read. Don’t have high expectations and you won’t be disappointed. This is my first book by this author and I will definitely consider trying another by her.
I must admit that I have a deep weakness for a powerful, well-adjusted alien FALLING APART when faced with a human lady. And as much as they might try to deny their feelings, they are smitten. So hard. It's glorious.
With this book, we have Caroline and Griff. She's dealing with some things and not loving the Christmas season this time around. The hunky blue alien who shows up and expects her to find him a mate is just...too much. But circumstances find her forced into helping him and it turns out spending time with the clueless-about-humans Griff isn't all that much of a hardship.
On Griff's end, he's on a tight deadline to find his special someone and basically has to follow Caroline's lead since he knows NOTHING about human women. As it turns out, the more time he spends with her, the more he finds himself liking the slightly grumpy lady with the bruised heart. An unfortunate date with a potential mate only highlights that he might have already found his special someone, Caroline just doesn't seem like she's interested.
Good thing Caroline has solid friends (and neighbors) to help her out and Griff has someone who's willing to impart some hard earned knowledge about human women. The road might have been a little bumpy, but these two got where they needed to be! *thumbs up*
From now on I only want my Fluffy Xmas books to be of the Alien variety 👽🌲
This was freaking adorable.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️3.75 🌶1.5 ( 1 scene)
The first part I will admit I enjoyed more than the second half. That's because the first half had all my favourite part's ,the cultural differences, not getting all of the earth lingo, it was very fun.
The running from the papz got a bit blah.so that was my reason for knocking down my score. But I still had a great time when reading.
But this still gave me the fluffy xmassy vibes I was looking for but with some of my favourite alien tropes 🌲Cultural differences 👽Alien needs a Bride 🌲Fun buzzing 🍆 ( because of the books length we only get 1 scene, which was fine for me)
Fave lines 🌲👽🌲 “Not all females wish to leave this overpopulated, overheated planet and journey to space?” She folded her arms over her chest. “Some of us still like this crowded, hot planet.” “I did not mean to insult your planet. It is very twinkly.” The corners of her mouth twitched. “Twinkly?” 🌲👽🌲 As the heat from her skin made my hand tingle, I realized that I did not want any of the other women in Manhattan. I wanted her. 🌲👽🌲 “Your language has many expressions that don’t mean what they mean.” 🌲👽🌲 You are beautiful and honest and patient, and I do not believe you are a Scrood.” “Scrooge,” she said with a giggle
I absolutely adored this book. I read it in one sitting, and now I’m going to go back through Tana Stone’s previous works and get caught up on what I missed. Just because this was my first book by her, doesn’t mean it will be the last. Far from it, actually. All of the characters were written in a way that had me empathizing, cheering for, cheering against, or adoring. All of them brought some sort of emotion out of me. I saw the tie in from a series and I’m going to go down that rabbit hole. This was an adorable holiday romance with a bit of spice. It was a gingersnap of a holiday romance, and I will be going back for more.
Caroline is not quite Scrooge, but she is not feeling the holidays this year. As a personal shopper at a high end store in NYC, she is getting jaded. Her best friend and coworker Olivia leaves work early to go on a date and Caroline takes over her last appointment. She wasn’t prepared for the tall blue skinned alien that walked through the door, or his wishlist item. He needs her help to find him a bride.
Thank you to literally yours PR for the copy, all thoughts are my own
I try not to hold books to standards that are not aligned with what the genre is. This is a light hearted romance. It is in the genre of a superficial, quick read that is supposed to just let the reader float along in the Christmas spirit. And it does that.
But it's more superficial than I wanted. I don't have a problem with the upset that comes from secrets revealed. I understand that feeling of betrayal that comes from lies of omission but I get annoyed when the characters have only known each other two days and yet someone decides the whole relationship should be trashed because all secrets weren't revealed yet. The MMC’s response to the MFC’s upset is completely on the mark,
“You wished for me to tell you everything, even though I did not know you?” His blue eyes blazed with intensity. “I did not require that you reveal all your pain to me.”
The author explains both POVs of the characters, but I still got frustrated with the MFC.
I always enjoy the characters and worldbuilding in Tana’s books and this one didn’t disappoint. Griff is a Valorian alien who is in search of a mate. Due to the success of the Drexian Tribute Brides program he thinks Earth is the perfect place to find a human mate. His list of wants in a mate were pretty funny and unexpected. Griff didn’t expect a series of hilarious events to unfold, endangering his mission. He is a cinnamon roll sweetheart who does his best to make sense of the phrases and sayings that english speaking humans have. At times his interpretations are so funny I couldn’t help but laugh out loud, garnering funny looks from my hubby. Caroline, the female he falls for is really down on herself after being hurt multiple times by jerks she went out with. We can see the compatibility almost right away but of course she can’t. She is so deserving of Griff’s affection and it’s a relief when she allows it to happen. He is protective, sweet and incredibly sexy. This book is cute, funny and was a nice change and a great holiday read. Highly recommend it!
I loved, loved Griff and Caroline’s alien-human holiday romance. This is a heartwarming, hilarious and steamy romance full of lovable characters with just a touch of angst. It will give you all the swoony swoons while also pulling at your heartstrings with all the feels. Griff is a blue skinned alien from the planet Valoria. Valorians have recently allied with the Drexians. Aliens who have a long standing tribute bride program with earth to find mates. Caroline is a human who works as a personal shopper at Saks. She is on a dating hiatus after her last BF cheated on her for half their relationship. Griff is sent to Saks to get help with his “holiday shopping list” which turns out to be a list of characteristics for a mate. Caroline is tasked with helping Griff despite it being outside her job description. Thus begins the fun, swoony, and at times absurd journey to Griff and Caroline’s HEA. I loved how their relationship developed organically the more time they spend together while wandering around NYC trying to find a mate for Griff. I also loved how they were both awkwardly adorable in trying not to be attracted to each other. The story was well written and included witty dialogue, three dimensional characters who grow, and an engaging storyline as told through sweet moments, steam, alien physiology and cultures, loyal friends, painful pasts, drama, missteps, secrets, and laughs. I would love to have more books with Valorian heroes. 4.5 stars
The whole reason I read this book was because I thought the concept of an alien romance set around Christmas was way too interesting of a topic to pass up. And if there’s one word to describe this book, it’s “interesting”! 😂
Do not expect heavy plot lines or a lot of background into the alien culture and lore going into this book, because you’re not really gonna get it. You’ll get just enough info to help you understand that this giant blue alien needs a bride and that’s about it.
If you’re looking for a fluffy (and kinda steamy) Christmas binge-read that doesn’t have too much substance and has a linear and straightforward plot, then this is the novel for you.
*I received an ARC from Literally Yours PR in exchange for my honest opinion.
This was a very cute, adorable and funny Christmas read! Griff’s confusion on all things women and Earth related were just hilarious! And Caroline was so relatable, I loved her!! Totally recommend!!
4.5 // A sweet indulgence that is absolutely charming. Good tension, relatable FMC, sweet alien MMC perplexed by American idioms, and a found family that comes together the week of Christmas. I laughed out loud so many times, smiled at the costumed caper through the drag club, and delighted at Tana’s writing style that brings the sounds of her world building to life. A great Xmas read under 200 pages.
Like a mug of hot chocolate, Christmas with an Alien brings a little bit of warmth, comfort, and steam to the cold dreary days rolling in.
Generally, I’m not one to start Christmas books before the first of November, but I couldn’t pass up an opportunity to read this. Tana Stone is new to me, but her comforting and low stakes writing were a delight so this won’t be a last for sure.
Christmas with an Alien was the perfect bite size read to set you in the mood for the holidays. I binged this in a little over an hour and I am ready for those Hallmark movies and prepping my TBR.
Caroline is incredibly relatable and her lackluster feelings towards Christmas something I have felt myself in past years. She’s not antiChristmas like you might anticipate from the grump in a holiday read; she’s just real. And Griff is what all us Alien romance girlies crave.
I am notoriously a sucker for cinnamon roll boyfriends just as much as the morally grey, and Griff is the perfect match for Caroline. Their chemistry and compatibility is wonderfully displayed in such a small time. The amount that Stone is able to fit so organically in such a short read was astounding. It’s by no means plot heavy, but you get the shenanigans that are anticipated for an attractive alien looking for a bride and the tender as they realize what he is looking for is right in front of him, and that she deserves to be treated well and loved.
Christmas with an Alien is live now and the perfect start to prepare you for the holiday season.
“Christmas with an Alien” by Tana Stone ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Genre: SciFi Alien Holiday RomCom. Location: New York City, New York, USA, Earth. Time: December in the future, when Earth has learned aliens are real. I read this through Amazon’s Prime Reading.
Caroline (29) is a Saks Fifth Avenue elite personal shopper. With a recent bad breakup, she’s convinced men are all liars and cheats. She isn’t a Scrooge, but Christmas is not her favorite time-because it brings clients with crazy requests. Her last client of the day is Griff, a gorgeous, 7 ft tall, blue-skinned Valorian who wants a human mate-with no mucus covering, poisonous tentacles, or gills please. Finding Griff a bride is tough, with alien-obsessed women all over his new dating profiles, and paparazzi chasing them. Can Caroline actually fulfill Griff’s request?
Author Stone has written a sweet and steamy, “he falls first” romantic comedy. Stone includes her Drexian Warriors’ worldview, but this can be read as a stand-alone. The narrative alternates between Caroline and Griff. It’s fun to see human women through alien eyes as Griff navigates cultural differences and American slang! Tana Stone is the author of over 100 steamy SciFi romance novels. This book is easy-to-read, short, funny-it’s really the perfect holiday RomCom, and it’s 5 hot alien Christmas stars from me🌵📚💁🏼♀️
Griff is a blue skinned Valorian prince traveling the galaxy incognito. The number of females on his planet has decreased and he must have a mate in order to inherit the throne. The Drexian tribute brides have successfully adapted and are able to produce offspring so he decides to find a woman from earth. He has made a list of requirements and is counseled to use a personal shopper. His advisor assumes Griff is holiday shopping and is not aware of what Griff is in the market for.
Griff has an appointment at Saks 5th Avenue to meet with a personal shopper. The woman his appointment is with had begged off and had a co-worker fill in for her. Caroline is dismayed at his request and just as shes trying to explain why she can’t help him, her boss appears and insists that she assist him, not realizing what he wants.
Her co-worker gets involved and starts searching for a suitable mate on various dating apps. One mishap after another occurs and he and Caroline spend more time together than they might under normal circumstances. Griff’s blue skin makes him stand out and social media goes wild tracking his every move.
He has one disastrous date. Meanwhile, he has decided Caroline is perfect for him but she is gun shy after unsuccessful past relationships. A Drexian officer offers him advice on how to win her over. It’s a Christmas story so of course there’s a happy ending.

This was an interesting holiday read. Although I liked that it was an alien holiday romance set in New York City there was a lot that just didn't do it for me. I felt like the writing wasn't very good, the scenes throughout the book (steamy and otherwise) felt awkward, and there was very little steamy scenes at all (not that it's the most necessary), but I also felt like their connection wasn't that strong and that they didn't know each other well enough. I also thought that there wasn't any resolution to any of the problems or concerns in the fmc's life. ***small spoiler***We don't see if her mother ever comes around, and we don't see how Caroline faces the challenge of moving to another planet and becoming a queen when she never wanted those things in the first place. ***end spoiler***
Although, the setup for this book is good it misses the mark. It just isn't that well written. There are a lot of plot holes and dead ends at the end of the story. The relationship building and steam just wasn't there for me, and what was there felt stiff and unrealistic due to the writing. I don't know if I'll pick up this author again, but the series it's related to sounded interesting so I might try that. I don't think of the many holiday romances out there that this is one you need to rush to read, but if you have time to kill it's not that bad.
Christmas with an Alien is a wonderful love story that takes place during the holiday season. Sugar plums and mistletoe I enjoyed this book! MMC Griff is a Valorian on an expedition to Earth with a “procurement” list in his pocket as he tells the two Drexians transporting him there. One of the warriors hooks him up with a personal shopper at Saks to assist, and if only they knew what that list was for. Griff has more in mind than gifts, a mate is what he seeks and after researching the Drexian’s Bride program success he is assured he can do the same. Keep the faith Griff! This became such fun once MFC Caroline ends up as Griff’s personal shopper and discovers what’s really on his shopping list. I think I may have overdosed on sweetness (in a good way) with this read which had me laughing, tearing up and outright fist pumping at the end. With some surprises, drama, passion and joy these two made for each other lovers brought this story alive for me and I can’t thank the author enough for writing it. Highly Recommended!

This was such an amazing heartwarming feel good Christmas story that I enjoyed immensely. I always enjoy her characters and the way she puts her stories together and the story did not disappoint. Caroline has sworn off men and just needs someone to love. She’s a personal shopper that works at Saks. Griff was sent to Saks to get help with his holiday shopping list, which turns out to be a list of characteristics for a mate. Caroline helps Griff even though it’s not in her job description. Let the fun begin. I ended up, laughing out loud with them cheering for them, swooning and empathizing with them, they made me feel so up lifted and happy. There’s even an appearance of a male lead from the tribute brides of Drexian Warriors. It’s such an adorable, romantic, sweet heartwarming story that gives you the cozy feel of Christmas that I thoroughly enjoyed. I’d love to see a movie with the story and curl up in front of a fireplace to watch. I highly recommend this author and the story, especially for feel good feelings.
I received a free copy of this book for my honest review, and this is my voluntary honest review.
I was enjoying the start of this novel, but the contrived drama after they first kiss was way too much. I understand they needed conflict to keep them apart before the end of the book, but they could have addressed this by exploring the many other subplots - like her conflict with her family, or what it means to be together and have to go to a planet she doesn’t know, or even how her previous relationships are impacting on her (this was briefly and very clumsily touched on). I felt the reason why Caroline wanted to keep them apart came on very suddenly, after she felt embarrassed and how she treated Griff was unfair, but I would have respected it more if she didn’t have a sudden, off page change of heart when the plot requested her to. I felt the implications of Griff’s status and Caroline’s feelings of the Bride Program were never explored either.
The epilogue was very disappointing too, since I was hoping to finally see them happy as a couple and see their reinforced emotional connection, instead we got a chapter that was weird love letter to “the MaGiK of ChRiStmAs” - this whole time, this book has been a love story taking placing during the holidays, but it wasn’t a Christmas story, so the switch in the final chapter was jarring.
While the concept of aliens wanting to marry human women isn’t new, this story puts a fresh and charming spin on the trope. Griff, a hot blue alien prince, comes to Earth and hires a personal shopper from Saks Fifth Avenue to help him find a bride. Clearly, Griff has absolutely no idea of what a personal shopper actually does. When Caroline’s boss tells her to give the client whatever he wants or risk losing her job, she has no choice but to go along with it. As Caroline and her friend turn to dating apps to assist in the search, an unexpected connection begins to form between Caroline and Griff.
The story starts off absolutely adorable, with Griff’s innocence stealing the show. It definitely gives off “Ice Planet Barbarian” vibes. I was really enjoying the story at first, but Caroline can be a bit frustrating. Her past relationships have left her with serious trust issues, causing her to push Griff away again and again. A little resistance can be fun, but this felt like too much. I felt bad for Griff and even found myself rooting for him to walk away. You deserve better king! Still, I had a good time overall. This is a cute, feel-good read that’s perfect for the holiday season.
Christmas with an Alien is a sweet, low drama Christmas romance that’s perfect if you’re looking for an easy, cosy read. The attraction between the main characters is instant although both are rather reticent to begin with, it’s a gentle tale with a festive Sci-fi setting that adds a fun twist especially as out alien often gets confused by Earth customs and the English language.
Griff, the MMC, is on a mission to find a mate, mostly to appease his father, (theirs a twist in that scenario) while Caroline, the FMC, has sworn off men after a cheating ex left her burned and her family has taken his side in the situation. A case of mistaken identity kicks things off when Griff assumes Caroline is Olivia, a personal shopper he believes will help him secure a suitable match…only for sparks to fly in an entirely different direction.
My View: Tana Stone has written a lighthearted, fast-paced, and the ideal story for curling up with over the holidays, Christmas with an Alien delivers feel-good romance with minimal angst and just enough alien charm to keep things fun.
Totally enjoyed reading this story that's about Griff a Valorian who's looking forward to his trip on Earth and Caroline who he hired as his personal shopper. Griff arrives one week before Christmas in NYC. Griff gets help from his pilots who recommend a personal shopper that he interviewed for the Drexian tributes bride program, Olivia, for his shopping list. Griff's list is to find a mate, so he makes an appointment to meet her. Caroline works with Olivia at Saks Fifth Avenue. Caroline is feeling humbug about Christmas after finding about her ex-boyfriend cheated on her during their relationship. Olivia leaves early to go on a date and Griff meet Caroline with his list. What occurs is an engaging humorous seasonal alien romance story that kept me highly entertained while reading their blooming romance in this copy I'd received and volunteer to read and review.
How cute is this cover!? I won this book in a giveaway and I’m so glad I did! This was gave me the best sci-fi romcom vibes. Griff is a Valorian that has come to Earth seeking mate/bride. He has a list of things he’s looking for and due to some convenient miscommunication he ends up at Saks with an appointment with a personal shopper to help him get everything on his list. In comes Caroline our FMC just trying to get through the work day and holidays. Their romance is adorable, like a mug of hot chocolate it just leaves you feeling warm and cozy. There’s a little bit of a found family element and I adored the side characters too. Overall, I enjoyed this one and will definitely be picking up more by the Tana Stone in the future!
“Sometimes it was the friends you chose who became the family you needed.”
This was a quick, cute read. I really enjoyed the originality of the plotline. How does an alien end up at Saks looking for the wife he wants (and needs) on his Christmas buy list? Reading about this clueless alien's attempt to find the perfect wife with his own personal Saks shopping expert was just too fun. What's a personal shopper to do to fulfill his requirements, especially since Saks doesn't have a "buy a wife" department? Caroline tries to find Griff a wife. After all, her job depends on it. But she ends up wanting to be on his list, falling for the big blue alien. There are many cute, laugh-out-loud moments and I loved the secondary characters almost as much. I won't reveal the story, but you'll love the drag queen incident. If you're looking for a cute Christmas romcom with a SciFi twist, look no further.
I had a chance to read Christmas with an Alien: A Sci-Fi Alien Holiday Rom-Com by Tana Stone. Caroline, a personal shopper for Saks Fifth Avenue, and Griff, a blue-skinned Valorian, meet when Griff is mistakenly advised to seek the help of someone who can shop/find him a mate. Those giving him advice thought he was shopping for Christmas gifts, but Griff was looking to find someone who would love him and give him young. He had heard that the Drexian species were pleased with their human mates, so he thought this was his only recourse since he had had no luck finding someone on his home planet. He is constantly misunderstood which results in a hilarious tale of the meeting of the cultures. Readers won’t find a cuter story for the holidays than this one.
