I am giving a rating of 3.5/5
This story had potential, but due to constant repetition,it made that difficult.I found the repetition to be a bit frustrating. It was hard to get immersed in the book and the characters because of this. This story starts with Spencer who ends up saving Percival’s life. They both feel a connection on first contact. As a thank you for saving him and wanting to get to know Spencer better Percival takes her on extravagant dates and a road trip. Some things he did with her seemed to be a bit unrealistic, seeing as he was trying to get her to trust him and wanting to take things slow without scaring her off.
I will say as a girl who grew up in CA, the trip on the PCH and the places they visited was a fun trip down memory lane. I received this book as an arc for an honest review .

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this story, I really liked the main characters, they are interesting and the premise of their love story was also very interesting, but I think a lot of things in Wicked Ties happened very quickly , however, there were moments between Spencer & Percival that I really enjoyed reading.

Spencer is a girl who has always had a complicated life, suffers from hearing loss, but she always keeps going no matter what the situation is in front of her, she has dreams that make her personal story original and give it a different touch, she's a kind, realistic girl, who has doubts, insecurities and fears, but is always brave and very strong. Furthermore, she has people at her side who love and always support her, a best friend who is just what Spence needs to leave her comfort zone and dare to accept Percival's proposal.

Percy is the complete opposite of Spencer, an economically privileged man who has his family with him, he's extroverted, a party animal, a womanizer and a little cocky, but he also has a tender, selfless side who cares about the people he loves and becomes a little obsessed with Spencer when she saves his life.

Percival & Spencer have a beginning that was somewhat confusing for me, as I already said, things between them happened very quickly and that made me feel a bit of a disconnect between them, even so, on their journey they share sweet, tender moments and I liked reading them talking about their concerns and disagreements.

When Spencer finds a man being assaulted, she saves his life and goes to the hospital with him. When Percival wakes up, all he can remember is the eyes of the woman who saved him, and is determined to find her. But once he does, it may not be as easy to ingratiate himself into her life as he had assumed. Spencer is wary, thanks to her hearing loss. But Percival is a man obsessed and she'll have to decide if she can let someone into her life, into her heart, with the chance of being broken.

Things I like about Wicked Ties: the chemistry between Spencer and Percival is hot, a man as intent on someone as Percival is on Spencer is downright swoony, and I like the disability rep. Things I didn't like: I didn't feel much of a connection with either Spencer or Percival beyond them being fairly likable - they are a little boring I guess, and a lot of things are repeated far, far too often. The story is entertaining, though, so it saves it from a lower rating.

Wicked Ties is a contemporary romance featuring Spencer O'Hagan and Percival Hills.

Spencer is a deaf woman who lives a quiet (no pun intended) life. Her mother, a carefree woman, left her with her best friends as a child when she fell ill. Orla and Fiona, while not blood, are her family, along with her best friend Gianna. Spencer is an artist and restores furniture. She loves finding hidden treasures which she can bring back to life.

One night, she joins Gianna at a local bar for a drink. It doesn't take long for her to feel out of place and decides to head home. On her way she stumbles across a very injured man, Percival, thereby saving his life. She holds his hand until help can arrive, and even accompanies him to the hospital.

Spencer and Percival share a connection. (If this were a paranormal romance, it would be akin to fated mates.) Percival, a successful sport agent and womanizer, feels he owes her a debt and seeks her out hoping to make her dreams come true. He ends up taking her on an extravagant road trip along the Pacific Coast highway with multiple tourist stops, ensuring he gives her a VIP experience. There is a mutual attraction. During their trip they grow closer and end up sleeping together.

There's a little more to the plot, but I'll stop there.

I struggled to finish this one. I had to keep putting it down and walking away because I would get frustrated with the content. It had an excellent concept but poor execution. In addition to the abundance of repetition, I also felt like I was getting whiplash with the push/pull dynamic and internal battle described for Spencer's character. There was also a lot of jumping around with rapid, unexpected scene changes.

I appreciate a spicy story, however this one felt forced and too fast. These two characters go from let's just be friends and have fun to allowing the mutual attraction to lead them to sleeping together to a sex swing to a sex party... While Percival is a man with a great deal of sexual experience, the same does not appear to be the case for Spencer. There would need to be a great deal of trust to allow for that rapid progression.

In addition, after awhile Percival's endless surprises made me roll my eyes. Everything was a surprise, which he would never reveal. He would always say something along the lines of, "trust me, you'll like it" which rubbed me the wrong way. For a man who seems very into a woman, it felt like all he wanted to do was claim her rather than dialogue and get to know her.

Then there were certain pieces that seemed to just pop in from out of the blue, such as Spencer's text about a threat, and a random mention of an upcoming surgery that had never been referenced before. Percival's reluctance to let Spencer go home felt very controlling and uncomfortable, and completely counter to what he has previously said about respecting her wishes.

As noted earlier, this book started with a great idea, but it just didn't work out for me. I was also really disappointed with the author's ending,

(I received an ARC for this book)

Trigger Warnings include:
this story contains violence, speech/hearing-impaired character, and references to child abandonment.
note from the author
The female main character suffers severe hearing loss, respectfully, I’ve underlined her dialogs. She communicates in a few different ways, sometimes using ASL, others writing, or through a text to speech app.

I loved the concept of this book, and after reading the blurb, and even getting to meet the characters, I was ready to let them take control of my heart. And at the beginning, both Spencer and Percival did exactly that! Once these two crossed paths, their connection was solidified. And because Percival Hills is Percival Hills, he wants to help Spencer achieve her dreams, and doesn’t hesitate to go above and beyond! But that’s where things started to get iffy for me. While he goes out of his way to make sure he can make Spencer feel comfortable in his presence, and I loved every moment of that, the rest of their “bonding” felt forced. I felt connected to the characters, but disconnected to the situation. It’s heavy on the details, and that created repetition. The different forms of communication made things harder to follow. (Also, how did he become so fluent with ASL so quickly?!) Which brings up something else I struggled with: there was a LOT of confusing time jumping. I wasn’t sure how much time was passing between scenes. Some chapters almost felt out of order. The last 30% felt even more rushed! Not just with time, but circumstances. I also didn’t like Spencer’s ending, it didn’t feel like something she would do, and it honestly felt disrespectful to the character and to readers who could relate.

My Favorite Quotes:
• “If you’re watching, just know that I’m thinking of you.”
• “You mean someone who’s intelligent, independent, and absolutely stunning?”
• “I’m glad we get to share it together.”
• “Just relax and let me take you on the ride of your life.”
• “Whenever life gets tough or things seem impossible, I want you to think back on this and remember that you are strong, beautiful, and capable of anything.”
• “We’ll take on the world together, you and I.”
• “I’ll fuck the worries out of you if that’s necessary.”
• “I want to explore every inch of you.”
• “I want you more than anything.”
• “Accepting help doesn’t make you weak. It just means you’re strong enough to know when you need it.”

Wicked Ties by Susana Mohel is a spicy Cinderella story featuring an alpha hero, a hearing-impaired heroine, and a little suspense on the side. Spencer comes across an injured man on her way home and stays with him until help arrives, and even rides with him to the hospital, feeling some cosmic connection to the stranger. When Percival, a rich sports agent, wakes up, he is immediately determined to find the dark-haired, green-eyed woman who saved his life. Like a man obsessed, he tracks her down and offers her whatever her heart desires. She wanted fun, so the pair embarks on a road trip that changes everything. Will the connection they form be a strong and binding one, or will it break easily along with her heart?

The premise of this book caught my attention and it had some originality to it, and there was a lot that I liked. While I loved that they both felt something just from locking eyes, and what a fun and fanciful notion that is, it turned a bit odd when she immediately agreed to road trip alone with him. As someone with a disability, I’m always excited to read any book with some type of disability rep, no matter what it is. But, because of my perspective, I would think that her hearing loss would make her a bit more leery about putting herself in unsafe situations. Yes, there’s the element of not letting your disability control your life, but you have to also accept your limitations. But, it is a work of fiction and I was curious about this road trip, so I happily dove in.😂 Percival could win an award for learning ASL faster than any human alive 🤔, but I loved them together. If there ever was a woman who deserved to be wooed, it’s Spencer, and Percival was able to pull off some pretty great surprises for her!😍 Let’s be honest, the chemistry between them was HOT, and Percival has a bit of an edge to him!!🥵 I enjoyed the suspense plot until I got tripped up by some chapters that were out of order. Once I figured everything out, I enjoyed the rest of book with a great plot twist for Spencer, although the ultimate reason for the original attack felt a bit anticlimactic. I’d like to know what happens farther in their future.

*The mixed up chapters were fixed in the live version on Release Day!!🥰

Title: A Wickedly Entertaining Romance with Some Missed Opportunities

Rating: 3.5 stars

Wicked Ties by Susan Mohel is an entertaining read that kept me engaged, although a few aspects left me wanting more.

The story revolves around Spencer O'Hagan, a strong and capable artist who stumbles upon a wounded man on the sidewalk. She does the right thing by calling 911 and staying with him until his family arrives at the hospital. This act of kindness sets off a chain of events that leads her to Percival Hills, a scorching hot sports agent who believes she saved his life.

Spencer's character is admirable, showcasing strength and independence, especially in the face of her hearing loss. I particularly appreciated the ASL representation in the book, adding depth and authenticity to the story. Mohel deserves praise for bringing attention to such an important aspect.

The relationship between Spencer and Percival progresses quickly, perhaps too soon for some readers' taste. I also found myself confused by certain parts towards the end, feeling that some background and build-up were missing. However, despite these shortcomings, their story remained enjoyable.

I felt slightly disconnected from the characters, particularly Percival's intense obsession with Spencer. While their chemistry was evident, the suddenness of their bond left me yearning for a stronger foundation. Nonetheless, Spencer's trust in Percival and her willingness to embrace an unconventional love was commendable.

Mohel's writing style is engaging, and the adventures and surprises Percival brings into Spencer's life are fun and adorable. The book had its moments of intrigue and surprise, keeping me entertained throughout.

In summary, Wicked Ties is a good read with its fair share of enjoyment and surprises. However, it took me some time to fully immerse myself in the story and connect with the characters. Susan Mohel's writing is undoubtedly appealing, and while I couldn't give it a full 4 stars, I still appreciate the author's efforts. There was just something missing that I can't quite put my finger on.

Wicked Ties by Susan Mohel was an enjoyable book to read and I did like some parts of the story,it did keep me entertained...But there were some parts I couldn't get into.
I read this book when I was sick so it could have been that I couldn't concentrate fully on the story or feel affection for the characters.
Spencer is an artist who is hearing impaired, and doesn't let her disability define her or stop her living the life she wants.
One night she almost witnesses a crime but all she sees is the guys running away leaving a man crumpled on the ground in bad shape.
Spencer gets him help and when he comes around and wakes up,he vows to find the person who saved him.
Percival is a rich sports agent very successful likes to get what he wants and when he finds Spence he wants to make her life better and give her anything she wants.
Starting with a road trip, they go on an adventure and get to know one another in the process,Percival becomes obsessed with Spencer.
There is an undeniable connection between them and an attraction so when they cross the line it is steamy hot.
Percival even though he is a bit over bearing he could be incredibly sweet and generous, his intentions are honourable and he only wants to make Spencer's life easier.
Spencer is a strong independent woman and very trusting in my opinion,I liked her and she deserved to find love in her life, even if it was found in an unconventional way.
Overall this story is a great read, very intriguing and full of surprises,it just took me a while to get into the story and engage myself with the characters.
I do Like Susan Mohel and her writing and I hate that I Could only give 4 stars..There was just something missing that I can't put my finger on.

I've read a few books from this author and I'm always eager to read more and more.
Susana Mohel knows how to capture my attention and always makes me want more.
If you've read her books, you know what I'm talking about.
Wicked Ties is her latest release and explores the lives of Spencer and Percival.
Spencer is used to silence. Having suffered hearing loss when she was a kid, made her become a recluse inside her mind and surrounded by her huge talent for creating artwork with stuff others don't want.
When she saves one man from death she couldn't believe the change her life is going to get...
Percival is a man used to the fine things in life. Being in the spotlight and having everything fame can give him.
When a mysterious woman saves his life...
this book was sweet. I loved the characters and it was amazing to witness Spencer getting out of her shelve.
Loved how the story progressed and adored the characters and the side characters as well.
There were a few things that confused me, but after talking with the author, it all made sense.
What started as an innocent relationship, soon evolved into something more, and boy... did I love those scenes.
It was amazing that the author explored more ASL, and let me tell you, it was the kick I needed to start learning it.
I loved this book and I want more from these characters.
Amazing book Susana. Loved it.

I loved Spencer, I love the despite everything in her life she found a way live her life and not let her hearing loss hold her back from things. Percival…I still don’t know how I feel about him. I loved that he wanted to learn ASL to communicate with Spencer, but then he also wanted her to see an audiologist to see if they could help her, even though Spencer wasn’t fully on board with it. It felt like at times he would kind of push her into things she may not really want. But I do love the adventures they went on and how he was opening her eyes to so many things.

There were times it felt like chapters were out of order and I was going to reread things because I thought I somehow missed something. Something would happen and didn’t feel like the scene was finished; however, the next chapter would be something completely different that just didn’t fit with what happened, but then eventually would go back to the first chapter. It was confusing at times and it made it difficult to truly get immersed into the story and enjoy it fully.

Overall, I love the premise of this story, but the way Percival acted at times and the chapters potentially being out of order really took from the story.

This was a very interesting and soft love story and I enjoyed reading it.

Spencer is a beautiful and smart young woman who has severe hearing loss. One night, being in a bar with her friend, she saves a man who has been attacked. That man is Percival. Even though he is badly injured, he can't forget the woman with beautiful eyes that saves him. So he does the impossible to find her and thanks her properly.

After he does, he can't help being attracted to her, and he wants to give her everything. He takes her on a journey filled with love and adventure, where their love blossoms.

They fall in love really quickly with each other, but she is still wondering if she deserves that happiness in her world. Percival is madly in love with her, and he wants the best for her. From the time they got together, she was his everything. Even with all the obstacles in their way, he does not give up on her and knows that she is the one.

Their love was really gentle, and I was so happy to see how Spencer developed through the story. For once in her life, she is on the right path with the right man.

Overall, I enjoyed reading "Wicked Ties".

Spencer O'Hagan suffers from hearing loss and has for many years. She's strong, capable and isn't afraid to chase her passions because of it. She's an artist who loves to find old pieces of furniture and turn it into something new and beautiful.
After meeting her friend at a bar she leaves and is walking home she sees a couple men running from an area where a guy is lying on the ground having been beaten. She makes sure that 9 1 1 has been called and he's taken to the hospital and in fact stays the night with him there.

Percival Hills is a sports agent who was attacked and then brought to the hospital. He looks at Spencer, "You...saved me."
Once he gets out of the hospital he's bound and determined to find her. "Hey there, Spencer, I've been looking for you." "I feel indebted to you." And he wants to help her achieve her dreams. So he takes her on a trip to somewhere she has never been.

3.5-4 stars
I felt very disconnected with the characters. She saves him and then goes on a trip with him? He's very obsessed with her in my opinion.

I love Susana's books and her attention to detail in creating her characters. Wicked Ties was a gorgeous story about Spencer who is hearing impaired. Susana gave such beautiful texture and detail to Spencer's descriptions to give her other senses precedence in the narrative. Percival is the leading man who is saved when Spencer finds him after he is beaten. When he wakes in the hospital and remembers the woman who rescued him, there is an instant spark. And so begins their adventures together with Percival trying to show Spencer all the things she has been missing and all the potential she has to grow.

As other reviews have noted, this book did fall a little flat at times due to a lot of repetition and some narrative parts that became confused (there were key scenes that didn't seem to lead anywhere and then some chapters felt mixed up or out of order). However, the characters deserved their happy ending and their adventures together were fun to read. I loved how these two grew together and found comfort and confidence in their blossoming connection.

Spencer has had hearing loss but is resilient and independent to her core. She was left behind by her mother and her mother's friends have been raising her. She feels like she is s burden and tries very hard to take care of them and the bills. When she goes out for the first time in a while with her friend she ends up in a situation and saves Percival's life. Percival is the live in the moment parting womanizer but for some reason he can't get the green-eyed woman out of his head. When he finds her, he is determined to give her the world. I loved that he was willing to learn ASL to communicate with her it was so sweet. This book was entertaining and enjoyable some parts were hard to understand why he would take her to that place, and it confused me. They move very quickly in their relationship journey, and he would give her the world and back and I loved that she gave him as much as he gave her. She settled him and changed his world. I was given this book as an ARC for my honest review.

Wicked Ties gives me all the Cinderella vibes with plenty of heat and steam. Spencer and Percival's book had an original storyline to it that had me captivated and intrigued. Percival is an alpha through and through and he just wants to give the world to Spencer. There story did have me questioning a few things and at times I did find myself a little lost in the story. Their progression to a relationship is fast paced but the connection and attraction between the two is mesmerizing. Your connection to the characters in themselves is easy and they draw you in however I just felt some aspects of the storyline let it down a little. My overall feelings on the story was that it was entertaining, had a little suspense and a few surprises, the characters were fantastic but there was just something I felt was missing. However this story is still a great read.

𝗧𝗿𝗼𝗽𝗲𝘀: he falls first, alpha hero

It all starts with Spencer saving Percival's life. They have an immediate connection, and after Percival is better he wants to get to know Spencer and to thank her for saving his life, he takes her on extravagant trips, leaving home problems in the hands of the police. During the trips, Percival tried to show Spencer that he can trust him and that he can take things slowly in their relationship.

This book had so much potential, but because of the constant repetition it made it hard to read. At first, until I realized that 80% of the book is the same premise, I didn't find the repetition irritating. But when you see that the same idea is repeated endlessly in a different form, it becomes quite tiring.

Thank you Susana Mohel and Grey's Promotions for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

It had a really good concept I just felt like the execution of it really really lacked.

I didn’t really feel any type of connection to any of the characters and it repeated a lot of the story over and over.

This is Percival and Spencer’s story, which is a modern day fairytale.
Spencer is a hearing impaired artist, who has been out for the evening with friends, and she comes across an injured man, whom she sits with until help arrives, and goes to the hospital with him. When Percival wakes up, there is an instant connection between him and Spencer, and he feels indebted to Spencer, and is determined get her whatever her heart desires, and they end up going on am extravagate date and road trip.
This is not one of my favorite stories from this author, as I felt is was just too repetitive.
This story has a tad suspense, friendships, and love, which leads to a spicy story.
I look forward to reading more from this author whose work I recommend.

Spencer saves a man after two men were beating him. He wakes up and remembers the girl but nothing else. She is a struggling blind artist, and is easy for the very rich Percival to find her. She saved his life and wants to give back to her. They become friends and he shows her how to have fun, and keep her safe from the guys who almost killed him. They both don’t want a relationship, but the chemistry between them is intense. Can they be together? Great characters and storyline Highly recommended Amazing Book. I love Spencer and Percival and their character development. Great supporting characters. This book has all the feels. A very strong female and male lead. This is my first book by this author definitely not my last.

Story from Percival and Spencer with great story-line and insta-love/slow-burn feeling.

Spencer suffers from hearing loss but she doesn't let that stop her from achieving goals.
Percival is woman's man, successful business man whose life change when he's attacked.

After joining her friend at the bar for a night out, Spencer doesn't feel she belongs there. On her way home she finds wounded man and their connection is instant.
Percival wants to thank Spencer for saving his life so he takes her on a road trip.

What started as friendship slowly grows into love. But Spencer's doubts about Percival motives and her own insecurities could ruin their chance.

There were great moments of Spencer and Percival's story but there were also some confusing distractions. Spencer is a strong multi-faceted character. Strong, resilient and independent even with her hearing loss. Spencer is creative and deep feeling. Percival, is not as layered and Spencer is. You feel the tension of their attraction, their tether strong. I appreciated Percival belief and want to give Spencer the world. It's almost as if parts of this story are told in vignettes as I had to go back to make sure I didn't miss pages in my confusion. There is no real sense of a timeline or what they really do in their day to day. The great moments showcase a love for all time.

Oh Ms. Mohel! You have brought a story that has heart, heat, and a sensitivity that really embraces the characters.

This is the story of Percival and Spencer,  and what a lovely story it is.

Spencer is an amazingly written character, her disability doesn't define her and Ms. Mohel brings her to life with respect, caring, and a dignity that is inspiring.

Percival, the epitome of a playboy. But all he needed was the right woman to bring him to the light.

The way that Spencer and Percival meet is nothing short of thrilling and scary. And their whirlwind romance will take your breath. The amazing landscapes and places that they visit are described beautifully.

If you are looking for a fast-paced, insta love, look no further than this newest story from the talented mind of Ms. Mohel.

I really wanted to like this one, I definitely kept going until the end hoping it would get better but sadly it didn’t hit for me. It felt like a lot of it was repetitive and right when I thought we would get to some spicy scenes it was just done. I liked both characters a lot but there just wasn’t enough actual story. I loved that the MMC did everything in his power to dedicate his life to our FMC after saving him but it just felt like he was showing off his money more than anything. I just wished there was more about his actual attack and the why.

Wicked Ties is a fairytale retelling with an alpha hero that I thoroughly enjoyed. The chemistry between the two main characters, Percival and Lila, was scorching hot and kept me engaged throughout the book. The author's writing style is easy to read and the story flowed well. I appreciated the unique twist on the classic fairytale and the way the author incorporated it into the story. Overall, I would highly recommend Wicked Ties to anyone looking for a steamy romance with a fairytale twist. I give it 4 stars out of 5.

3.5⭐️ rounded up to 4.

On her way home from a night out with friends, Spencer comes across Percival lying in the street. He’s just been attacked. As she’s deaf, she messages a friend to call 911, and stays with him. He quickly becomes fixated on the woman that rescued him.

While the storyline was promising, I had a hard time getting into it. A lot of extra information was given, and I didn’t understand why. I received this as an ARC, and this is my honest opinion.

Wicked Ties by Susana Mohel is the story of Percival Hills and Spencer O'Hagan. Spencer is a young hearing-impaired women that loves to be creative. One night after leaving her friends she happens to find a injured Percival. Feeling a connection to him she goes with him in the ambulance. Percival is a well off sports agent who when he wakes up in the hospital he becomes obsessed with finding the women who helped him. This is kind of a Cinderella type story. Enjoyed.

While I enjoyed the story, the story seemed to go from zero to sixty in no time flat. Spencer, who is deaf actually saves Perceval, and he feels compelled to repay the debt. It was almost a Cinderella type romance as I felt the majority was about new experiences for Spencer and not much else. I just wanted to see more real backstory for these two. That was the main reason for my four star rating. I received an ARC copy.

ARC Review

Spencer and Percival

I loved both characters and I loved the ASL representation in the book!! I found their story to be a fun/interesting one , especially with how they meet! I loved the adventures and surprises he gave Spencer so fun and adorable.

I did feel their story was a bit rushed and I did find myself confused on some parts towards the end of the book. I would have loved to see a bit more background or build up to there relationship but I still very much enjoyed their story!!

Quick and Fun road trip read :)
