My classic for the month … and I can’t believe it’s the first time I’ve ever read this!

The monster just wants a friend, but gets fear, loneliness, hate and heartbreak instead.

Mary Shelley didn’t just write a scary story, she wrote one which was full of emotions, focusing on loneliness, responsibility, and what happens when you don’t think ahead or plan with compassion.

me aguantaba las lágrimas al leer las situaciones tan desagradables que tuvo que pasar la criatura, si, era egoísta y deseaba amor a toda costa, pero es que acaso no lo merecía? si tan solo su creador hubiera tomado la responsabilidad y no hubiera huido. Frankeinstein era un cobarde que no se compadeció al instante por la soledad que le atenía a tal "monstruo". El grandulón realmente deseaba ser bueno, pero el mundo es muy cruel y no se le permitió serlo. Saben que me daba más rabia? que mientras al creador lo cuidaban con gentileza, su criatura pasaba frío, hambre, miedo y soledad que hincaba su alma y endurecía su corazón. Era despreciable y me daba asco el amor que le tenían a tal persona, este merecía salir corriendo a buscar a su creación, abrazarla, cuidarla y decirle que él iba a ser su padre. Desgraciado, abandona hogares.

Esperaba un poco más de la novela, aunque me tomó por sorpresa ambas narrativas. Me gustó la forma de describir la misma historia desde diferentes perspectivas, la variedad de sentimientos que ocasionó la misma situación fue interesante, arraigado por la propia crueldad humana.

Not my cup of tea. Feels like the whole book is a whole lot of complaining, melodramatic, and verbose rant.
