Harper Pierce’s life is perfect, at least according to her husband, Scott. She takes care of herself, she is educated, and she has a remarkable career that Scott would argue is more impressive than his own, even though he is a well-known professional athlete.
Together, Harper and Scott remain private, guarded, and reserved while living in an upper-floor condominium overlooking the Boston Harbor. But life hasn’t always been perfect. Both are keenly aware of the limitations within their marriage that Scott has always accommodated and adapted to when needed. Although neither speaks of these limitations, both are keenly aware of their existence. Now with Scott’s retirement and their landmark anniversary on the horizon, his willingness to adapt begins to show its limits as the tangled demons from their tiny island seep in and threaten to take hold. As their marriage begins to show its cracks, will they find a way to become closer or will everything they have built together shatter like fragile porcelain?
Porcelain continues the tale of Scott and Harper Pierce as the silence in their marriage becomes deafening and they are forced to acknowledge its existence.
Heather White Driscoll is the author of Just Us, All In, Porcelain, and now Bronze, each part of the He Calls Me Harp Series. She is a wife to Patrick, a mother to Willow, a sister to many, and an aunt to countless. When she’s not inventing the lives of Scott and Harper, Heather works in investment software. She is an avid Peloton rider, a dedicated cheer mom, and a passionate baker. Heather’s writing style is deeply embedded in the Pacific Northwest, having grown up thirty miles north of Seattle on the small island of Whidbey in the even smaller town of Coupeville. She holds a bachelor’s in American Literature from the University of Massachusetts. The fifth in the series, Newlyweds, is due in 2025.
Heather White Driscoll’s "Porcelain" is nothing short of a literary tour de force, a novel that gripped me so tightly I almost threw my Kindle out of sheer frustration and exhilaration. From the very first page, Driscoll weaves a narrative that is both heart-wrenching and intensely compelling, exploring the delicate balance between love and dissatisfaction in a marriage that seems perfect from the outside.
The story of Harper and Scott Pierce is a masterful examination of the quiet struggles that can unravel even the most seemingly perfect lives. Harper’s journey, marked by her personal triumphs and internal battles, is portrayed with such depth and nuance that I found myself rooting for her with every fiber of my being. Her character is a beacon of strength and vulnerability, and her decision to stand up for herself is nothing short of inspiring.
The tension between Harper and Scott is palpable, as Driscoll delves into the complexities of their relationship, revealing the cracks beneath the polished surface of their life together. The impending retirement of Scott and the weight of their anniversary add layers of urgency and emotional intensity that kept me on edge. The subtle, yet powerful, portrayal of their unraveling marriage is crafted with precision, making every moment of their struggle feel both inevitable and heartbreaking.
"Porcelain" is not just a story of marital discord; it’s a reflection on the fragility of human connections and the courage it takes to confront uncomfortable truths. Driscoll’s writing is both lyrical and incisive, capturing the essence of her characters’ inner lives with remarkable skill. The book's climax is a breathtaking testament to Driscoll’s storytelling prowess, delivering a resolution that is as poignant as it is satisfying.
In sum, "Porcelain" is a gripping, emotionally charged novel that will leave readers breathless and reflective. Heather White Driscoll has crafted a story that resonates long after the final page, making it a must-read for anyone who appreciates powerful, character-driven narratives. If you’re looking for a book that will challenge and captivate you, look no further. "Porcelain" is a masterpiece in every sense of the word.
This is the third book in the He Calls Me Harp series
When you think back to the other two books and all that Scott and Harp went through, it left us with many questions. Those questions are answered in Porcelain. It tells more back story on what transpired all those years ago and secrets are revealed. You will realize why Scott reacted to certain situations the way he did and why Harp leaned on him and vice versa. This is a therapy session book in regard to all the characters we’ve came to love not just Scott and Harp. This book made me laugh, cry and yet angry at times but it needed to be written! After the ending and reading the bonus chapter I’m curious on how all this will affect Scott and Harper and can they overcome this obstacle as they have so many other obstacles in their pasts. I adore Heather and this series will always have a piece of my heart ❤️. If you haven’t read this you need to read this series like yesterday!! I give this book 5/5 ⭐️as all of her books so far! They will forever live in my heart!
Porcelain is a therapy session for the characters, as well as the reader. 18 years afrer All In, it shows different view points of the events that transpired. How lives were effected. Secrets that were kept, come to light. Heather does a beautiful job of navigating delicate topics while being authentically raw. I cried. I was angry. I rejoiced. I laughed.
This book is the third book in the series, so it starts with Harper and Scott 18 years older. This book here will put you on an emotional roller coaster. Scott retires from basketball, they head back to the island for a retirement party. Of course being on that dang island bad stuff happens. I cussed this book out, I cried and I was happy at parts. This story is very well written. A must read series.
They say time heals on wounds, but Porcelain proves that it doesn’t take much for those wounds to rip open.
The author of this series does it a great justice by jumping 17 years in the future to see how Harper and Scott have built a beautiful life together even after tragedy threatened to rip them apart. This book is the perfect “next step” in their story. I don’t want to spoil too much but so many questions are answered and a lot of secrets are revealed. You’ll love this rollercoaster ride of emotions, just make sure to buckle up and grab your tissues.
Porcelain by Heather White Driscoll is book three in the He Calls Me Harp Series. To say I was excited for this book would be an understatement. I loved the first two books in this series but this book… This was the most real and most heartbreaking experience. This book to me is about the ripples that happen after tossing a stone in a lake. (The first two books being the stone) This book takes place eighteen years after book two. Scott and Harper are well established in life, and are seeking therapy for what they’ve gone through in the past. (Which is huge for Scott) But we slowly start to learn silence can cause an insurmountable cavern if you’re not careful and this could be an example of that. That self hatred and regret can taint even the best things in your life. That when you are at your lowest you push the people you love the most away. You hurt them as much as you’re hurting yourself…(I related so much to this book as I’ve been there and I’m still working on it) This demonstrates in my opinion how important communication can be whether that is with your partner or in therapy. The topics that are addressed in this book are heavy; it's the aftermath of trauma. That healing isn’t always a straight line, it can bend and twist. The writing is beautifully soul wrenching on how realistic it is represented… It just shows how much talent Heather White Driscoll has for writing. I read this book cover to cover in a matter of hours, I couldn’t put it down. The characters of Scott and Harper are like two friends I haven’t gotten to see in a while so I was so excited to be with them again. But as the story went on I thought I was prepared for what was to come but I wasn’t. The emotional rollercoaster I went on while reading left my heart shattered; the tears were real. I laughed, I cried, wrung my fingers in nervousness. There were points I wanted to reach through the book and shake a character in frustration. Other times where I just wanted to hug and reassure them in empathy. This book is hands down amazing and it may honestly overtake my favorite slot from book two. What an incredible journey Scott and Harper have taken me on and I need book four after that ending. Don’t even get me started on the bonus chapter for Bronze!!! Spring cannot come fast enough. (Hopefully it comes with a first aid kit for my heart.) If you’re not reading Heather’s books, I highly encourage you to start. Both the author and the tale she is weaving is fantastic and life altering.
***BOOK REVIEW*** Name: Porcelain Book 3 He Calls me Harp Series Author: Heather White Drisoll Rate: 5/5🌟
~ Thinking back to Just Us Book 1 and All In Book 2 from “He Calls me Harp Series”, we all know that Harper and Scott went through a lot during their relationship.Since dating in high school to eloping to get married once she turned 18 and then to have that horrible tragic incident happen to Harper right before she graduated High School. This proved that both Harper and Scott needed each other now more than ever!!! After finishing reading All In, there were so many questions that lingered that I needed to know what would happen, especially with Harper. Now that I got my hands on Book 3 Porcelain I can say I got some of my questions answered little by little. ~Porcelain continues right after where All In has ended, now if you have yet read these books please go and read them NOW… Because you will be lost if you start to read from book 3!!!
~We are now in the future, Scott and Harper are adults. 17yrs have passed since that awful incident. Scott is a professional pro-athlete and Harper works in an office. Everything between them is great, they are happy, like what can go wrong. Well the past decided to make an appearance and ruin that happiness, after all that hard word of putting it behind her. Porcelain gives us more details of how things got handled after that horrible incident... I enjoyed how Scott always protected Harper even more now after all this, making it like she is so fragile… (Yes, Heather I saw what you did there and why the title is named Porcelain.) But, I was even happy and screaming with joy when Harper finally decided to step up for herself and take her power back in that one scene…. I was like Fck Yeahh!!!! 💪🏼
~Look fellow book readers, when I say that this series is Fire 🔥 I mean it!!!! Yes, I’m a woman that loves reading Dark Smutty Romance… But when I got a chance to read about these two MC… well let’s just say they have a special part in my heart and not only them but so does the Author herself…Yes Heather you do, you were the first author to send me your books and giving me a chance to read them and review them when I just had started my booktok journey…Plus I want to thank you again for putting my name on the acknowledgements because I never thought a person like me will ever have the privilege to even have their name there. Trust me when I say, I got teary when you tagged me on that preview before the book even got released. That made me feel so special and thank you again. Heather you are truly the best <3
~ Now let’s talk about that Bonus Chapter!!! Like WOW!!! No WORDS… I was really not expecting that!!! I’m so happy for Harper <3 that you just don’t know, but now I’m just as curious to know or see Scott’s reaction once he finds out… Like will his whole demeanor change to a better mood or worse??? Because the way they left things uuffff weren’t in good terms… So by it ending with this chapter I was like OMG!!! PORQUE!!! Like I can’t wait for Bronze now….
~There are times when I was reading that I just wished I could have jumped in the book and slapped some sense into Scott… LOL!!! But Hands down when Harper spoke her mind to him… so happy for the woman she has become after all the bullshit she’s been through….
~So yet again book lovers please go and support this amazing indie author!!! Her books are available on Amazon. Book 1 Just Us Book 2 All In Book 3 Porcelain Book 4 Bronze Coming Soon

This series is a roller coaster ride worth taking. in the first book, you get the beginning of a love story in high school, and the nostalgia memories that come with it in book you get to read a growth between the two characters and lots of twists and turns and heartbreaking moments. However in book 3 you still get the same characters a few years down the road but in this book there is a lot of healing that is done between the two of them. I do have to save that book 2 All In,my favorite, however I honestly love the fact that book 3 Porcelain, Reflects a lot on the previous two books. Even though this is like a therapy session between the two and looks back on the other books it it honestly touches your heart in a different way.. I love being able to read on both point of view and kind of feel like I’ve been living in this book alongside the characters. Alongside from sadness, there’s also joy, but there’s overall healing, and there are a lot of things that come to light and make things make more sense in a way. Honestly, the series will hold a special place in my heart. It is one of the best series I have ever read, and I am so excited to continue read more on this series and from this author. If you are looking for one of those series that will make you laugh find peace have a little bit of sadness, but is a very beautiful love story overall, this series is the one for you to read. Don’t hesitate just read it. You will not regret it. Heather White Driscoll does such an amazing job when writing her books that you honestly feel like you are living these moments, it will literally pull your heartstrings. Read it I promise you won’t regret it.
Heather's books are like a fine glass of wine. I feel like the books in this series are so personal and well written. I've gotten to know so much about Harper and Scott. I have cried over these characters, sat nervously still while reading events, screamed at my book like they can hear me, laughed at how cute they are together and adored how much they love each other. Heather does such a great job with character development over the span of their lives. These characters are so relatable and refreshing. I laughed so hard when Scott was insisting Ethan sleeps on the Whitmore sofa. I love Harper's taste in Fashion.I love that Scott can quote Beyonce. Being back in Harper's room felt exciting and nostalgic at first. I don't want to give away spoilers and major details because I wish I could read this again for the first time so I owe that to people who haven't read this book yet but one of my favorite parts of this book is when Harper says to Scott " Taking your name had nothing to do with hiding...but everything to do with my immeasurable love for you. All in from the very beginning." Then when Scott says there's no spreadsheet of itemized tallying in marriage everything in me clinched. I wish I could say I saw the end coming but i wanted so badly to be hopeful. I shattered while reading the last few pages. I have the next book but I'm terrified to pick it up from my shelf. I need to buy another box of Kleenex before starting it.

this book is just as amazing as the first two, however this one seemed to have crushed my soul a little harder than the second book- all in. as most people know (if you follow the author on TikTok, you'd know that Scott and Harper have aged up quite a bit in the third book; and if I'm being honest, I love it. I just wish we were able to know what happened in the years we were left in the dark about. I do have a good feeling that one day we may find out, which I'm hoping happens in the fourth book. I loved everything about porcelain! in fact, I don't have any complaints or negative things to say about it whatsoever. even though the last few chapters I felt like Heather was personally stomping on my heart, I still loved it. it had me questioning everything, which later inspired me to read the bonus chapter. which I must say, if you have a never-ending wondering mind like myself, you may not want to read the bonus chapter at the end. considering it is the first chapter to the next book, and it will have you in all the feels. I will forever recommend this series to everyone I cross paths with, and this book hasn't changed that fact! I just hope everyone loves it as much as I do!
This book deserves way more than just five stars. I absolutely loved it from start to finish, even as it was ripping my heart out and making me sob uncontrollably. The character development and story plot are *chef's kiss*
Harp is so strong and I am super proud of her. Scott is okay too I guess. 😅🙄 I like him but he better get his head out of his butt (You'll understand once you read this book) I absolutely hate Barrett (Or @ssface as I call him) There's all the other characters too but you have to read it to meet them. I don't want to ruin it for you. 😝
I put off reading this one because I was scared of how it would end and then the wait for book 4, but I am so happy that I finally read it. Heather is an amazing author and absolutely one of my all time favorites. She does an amazing job of drawing you into the story IMO, I 100% recommend reading this entire series but remember to check your triggers 🥰
What I loved about this was the time jump into the future so we could see where Harper and Scott were at after the difficulties they faced in book 2. I had so many questions of how far forwards this book would go or if I got any of my questions of "what happened" answered. This story tells us how both of the characters handled the aftermath as well as supported each other in their healing process. To me it also showed where they weren't quite healed or what they needed to work on. I remember thinking I wanted to know how their families handled the situation as well. I did feel a wide variety of emotions and needed to stop at some points but I think that was for my own processing of the story and figuring out what I would have done if that was me experiencing what the characters were. I loved that this story not only told one but really had you connect with the characters the entire time. I will say it ended on a cliffhanger and I was not okay (but in all the good ways).
This third installment of the, "He Calls Me Harp," series, does NOT disappoint!
If you've become intimately involved with Scott and Harper, you know that its only a matter of time before secrets are unveiled, stones are over turned and you will, once again, identity -for the next few days- as a bleeding heart, in a glass box of emotions.
You could read Porcelain a as a stand-alone, however, I would be remiss in not encouraging you, my dear reader, in acquiring the first two books and devouring them to get here.
I laughed. I cried. I raged. I romanticized. And by the end... I was screaming.
Porcelain has the right balance of nostalgia, romance, wit and thrill, yet always has you checking over your shoulder for that trickle of angst creeping up your neck.
I don’t know if I can do this book justice. It is by far my favorite of the series, and by far the most heart breaking. If you’ve read books 1&2, then you know of some of the struggles that Scott and Harper have faced. I wish I could say that prepares you for this book, but it doesn’t. In fact, this book brings a whole new meaning to the word heart break. I don’t know if it’s because my life is in shambles and I’m just feeling vulnerable or what. But even in this new timeline, I am relating myself to these characters and am picturing myself in this story right alongside them. With that being said, I am immensly proud of Harpers growth and I need the next book, immediately. I need to know what happens next.
I dove into Porcelain without having read the first two books in the series, and even though I came in completely blind to Scott and Harper’s history, I was instantly pulled in ❤️The writing is captivating, thoughtful, and quietly powerful! The pacing is PERFECT, giving you room to breathe and reflect while still driving the story forward with momentum.
✨What impressed me most was how seamlessly the book welcomes new readers. There’s enough clarity and context woven into the narrative that I never felt lost, and the emotional arc stands beautifully on its own. I do believe longtime fans of Harper and Scott will catch deeper layers and feel an even stronger connection to the nuances of their journey. Reading Porcelain first has convinced me to now go back to the beginning of the series!
Let me say, this series as a whole takes me on a journey! From the nostalgia of high school to current life, I find myself immersed in the plots! The plot of the third book in this series does NOT disappoint. It gave me the closure I needed from the second book (no spoilers!). But, just like any good rollercoaster, Heather takes me through another loop at the end of the book! Let me say how grateful I am for the bonus chapter from book four; I will impatiently wait for the rest of the story!
If you are a fan of the first two novels, you will love this! If you have not, I strongly recommend you start with Just Us and dive in. The books are my favorite series of 2023!
Let me go ahead and state that I'm 100 percent a romantasy girly through and through...I still ate this book up.
I started on book 3 (this book obv) and I was left wanting MORE. I was angry with Harper, cried when it got intense, felt all of the characters emotions and really felt like I was watching a movie waiting for the next scenes to hurry and pop up.
this book was written really well, held my attention and had me trying to figure out secrets and turns and everything.
I genuinely enjoyed this read, out of genre and all. I will 100 percent be buying the rest of the series to read. I gotta find out what happens with Scott and Harper... I know he didnt mean that with contempt... 😡🥱
This book is everything and more. It’s all I hoped for after reading All I . Heather has done such a phenomenal job again. I was so happy with the way the story played out. I love that they are aged up. I love that we see how much they lean on each other and the limitations that they have developed. And the court scene was amazing. Harper taking her power back and really becoming herself again is my favorite part of the whole book.
I am not sure I can take anymore! This story was a sure rollercoaster of events.. there is a lot of back story in this book, a lot of healing, and reflection. Along with this comes honesty, pain and joy? Porcelain was a whirlwind of a read with a lot of personal connections, history and heartache. As much as I didn't want it to come it was needed to move on to the next book "bronze". I guess there is meaning to the quote "love is.." because boy oh boy if it isn't... I don't know what is..
True book hangover mode😭😭😭❤️❤️❤️ Heather, why must you do this to me?! 😮💨😥❤️ Harper and Scotty have my heart❤️ Barrett always had my disgust and despisement and always will😅❤️ I have loved watching Harp and Scotty grow up and I'll absolutely bawl when it's over, I just know it! 😮💨❤️ Porcelain is so so so good, I recommend it to everyone and always check your triggers❤️ Even suckered my best friend into getting excited about the series🤭❤️ I hope you love Harp and Scotty as much as I do❤️

Book three of the He Calls Me Harp Series follows Harper and Scott and their marriage. It shows the struggles of marriage even when things seem fine the smallest obstacle can cause a riff. If you want a book that will make you laugh, cry and angry at times I highly recommend this. Absolutely amazing again. 5/5. Can not wait to see what comes next for Harper and Scott.
Words can’t explain how good this book is! How good the series is!
You really have to pay attention to the small details because it all works together in some way.
I think it’s also crucial to remember that Scott and Harper have been together since high-school it’s vital to retain that information when reading this book.
This book shows how real things can get over a span of 17 years and how past trauma doesn’t just go away even with one’s status.
The book had me crying, happy, laughing and mad. You really get a roller coaster of emotions.
Heart shattering but oh so good. Heather does no wrong! I'm always transported into her books. This one gave me all of the feels. Harp & Scott's banter has only gotten cuter with age. The only con? I need Bronze NOW! ❤️
That ending!!! I was so shocked!!! And the bonus chapter!! Mrs.Heather Driscoll White knew what she was doing!! I’m being a little honest halfway through the book I couldn’t see where this was gonna go but then it just got me! I definitely will be impatiently patiently waiting for book 4!
Another great book in the series. I recommend reading the first two books first, because Porcelain includes a lot of references from them. I love that this book had closure for Harper. That ending though...holy cow!
Wow !!! I just love this series!!! Scott and Harpers love story! This is the third book in series! This book will take you through so many emotions! The bonus chapter has be wanting to read next book! This is one series I will never stop thinking about! One I cherish
