Jameson Rudolph is not the red-nosed reindeer, thank you. He’s a flight trainer for Santa’s reindeer, and he’s tired of all the reindeer games the new recruits are up to this year. So when he gets a notice that it’s time for a mandatory vacation, he decides to hit the road and go off the grid for some relaxation. His fellow reindeer seem to want to go somewhere warm, but not Jameson. He wants to go somewhere cold that doesn’t have twinkly lights and perfectly manicured candy cane trees…

Roe deer shifter Magnus loves his home in the Scottish Highlands, and he’ s keeps it by renting out the antique cottage on his property as a vacation home to other shifters. Every so often it gets awkward when a predator thinks he might be tasty, but he’s a roebuck who can take care of himself despite his small size. When he delivers muffins to Jameson Rudolph, though, it’s more than awkward. It’s hot as heck, and Mags decides to see if James is interested in a little holiday fling. But when it turns to more, will they be able to handle it?

Rudolph is the ninth book in the multi-author M/M Shifter Mpreg Christmas romance series Mated at the North Pole, featuring Santa’s reindeer, who find their mates while on a mandatory vacation. Rudolph features a grumpy sunshine pair with a smaller studly mate and a larger pregnant partner.

It was a quick and nice read. I liked James, he was very grumpy at first, but he just needed somewhere and someone to feel comfortable with.

James decides to go to Scotland for his forced time off as his friend Link flew over a cute little village during the present delivery last year.
He stays in a cottage owned by Magnus, an alpha roe deer shifter.
The two don't have the best start but soon they realize there is a bond between them and James soon falls pregnant.
I loved James' friend Link and would like to see him get his fated mate. Also loved how Santa and the Sleigh came to get him.

I received an ARC from GRR in exchange for my honest review.

I was extremely disappointed in this book. I have been loving the other stories in this series, all the reindeer and their love stories have been amazing. I usually really enjoy Minerva’s writing, but this one fell flat.

I thought maybe I just wasn’t connecting with the characters, so I pushed through it hoping it would get better. The whole thing felt unfinished, rushed and jumbled to me. There was not smooth transition from dancing around each other to them having sex. Rudolph was a rude asshole, and then just wasn’t with no actual character growth.

They all of a sudden are having sex, and then the next page he’s pregnant and they’re mates, and then with no explanation ahead of time they can speak on each other’s minds.

I want to be clear that none of this is abnormal for me to read and like to read. Mpreg, mind talk, enemies to lovers etc however, this was not put together in a way that I would ever enjoy reading. 2/5 ✨

Rudolph by Minerva Howe is part of the 9 book Mated at the North Pole series by various authors. Jameson Rudolph is an omega and flight trainer for Santa’s reindeer at Christmas Village at the North Pole. He has been relentless at his job and is getting burned out when Santa steps in and sends him on a mandatory vacation. He checks in with his friend Link who suggests a cottage he saw in a remote area the Scottish Highlands when he was flying with Santa. Since James has had enough of peopling (or elving) he decides that that sounds like a wonderful place to go. Magnus McCormick is the proprietor and luckily has an opening. He is an alpha roe deer shifter and very fast and he loves his small farm and the animals he cares for there. He also wants to make sure his guests are comfortable and have what they need for an enjoyable stay. When James arrives he is very abrupt and kind of surly, which puts Magnus off. But being the innkeeper that he is, he keeps trying to be nice to him. Eventually this pays off and they begin spending time together, enjoying Magnus’s treats and the farm. They find they are attracted to each other and eventually act on this with some hot love scenes. When they do Magnus feels that they are mates and eventually James knows this too. In the meantime Magnus helps James make a big life decision that brings them even closer. When Link arrives for his mandatory vacation they have a great time together but then Santa calls with news that could change everything for James and Magnus. Luckily they make the needed decision together, especially since a special delivery for them is on the way, and they have a wonderful Christmas. I really enjoyed this short story. James is a good man who needed a rest and changed into a wonderful person when he got with Magnus. Magnus always takes care of his guests and James was no exception. Neither had really thought they might find their mate but were so happy when they did. Life on Magnus’s farm was interesting and I liked the interaction with all of the animals. I also love how there are many Santas and Santa 15 is the one who gets them together, as he has in other books in the series. There is a small amount of angst but it helps the story as James and Magnus have to come to the decision of how to spend the rest of their lives. And the “special delivery” also adds some fun to the story. I highly recommend this book, especially if you like short magical Christmas stories about Santa’s reindeer and how they find the love they may not be looking for but get anyway.

James is an omega reindeer shifter from the Rudolf line. He is sensitive about his pink nose but is dedicated to his job as flight instructor for Santa's reindeer. He is so dedicated to his job that he is feeling burnt out but he is still annoyed when Santa forces him to take a vacation. His friend suggests that he rents this cute cabin he saw in Scotland. The elf arranging James' travel plans and picks the wrong start date for his trip. Luckily Magnus is able to let him have the cabin a day early. James thought he would be happy just resting and reading but he soon gets bored. Luckily Magnus is willing to entertain him. The two get closer as they spend time together and Magnus helps him decide what to do about his burn out. His is going to take a leave of absence to follow his dream of becoming a writer.

Magnus is an alpha roe deer shifter. He used to work in the city until a relative died and left him two cottages. He lives in one and rents out the other to shifters. When he first meets James, he is annoyed that he has showed up a day early. James is also rude and abrupt. Magnus at first wants nothing to do with James but the more he learns about James, the closer he wants to get. He advices James to follow his dream and offers him a place to stay. He is fighting his feelings for James because there is no way he would be interested in a plain old deer when James is used to magical reindeer.

Rudolph & Magnus

I hate that I loved the beginning of this book only to halfway there be so damn disappointed. I didn’t want to even finish the book but I did anyways since I wanted to see it through. I’m going to do this a little differently than what I usually do.

These are my reasons why I didn’t like the second half of the book;

Rudolph: he is one of my favorite reindeers not just because of the cartoon movie I did really liked Rudolph. But this book? Made me dislike him so freaking much, I was disappointed in how he did not like Christmas village and that he hated his work. I get that since in the movie he was bullied and all but Rudolph was also trying to prove himself, he is considered a Christmas spirit if you will. I also hated how he lost his spine after Santa wanted him back in the village and needed Magnus to help him stand up to him. BFFR!

Magnus: I thought I was going to thoroughly love the man but the second half made me dislike him so much! I loved that he was Scottish and seemed like an amazing dude, but he was so off putting towards the end. Typical alpha cr*p,and I couldn’t bring myself to like him again.

It’s disappointing that this book along with the previous one were not as good as the first few in the series. It started so damn strong. 2.5/10 ⭐️. The cow was the only one I still liked at the end lol.

Rudolph by author Minerva Howe is in the Ninth book in the Mated at the North Pole series. This is a multi-authored series; each story can be read as a standalone, but I have loved reading them in order.
Having said that about reading the books in order, I found Rudolph to be the weakest of the series so far. I am a huge Minerva Howe fangirl but this story lacks the magic the others had. This was a meh story for me. Not bad, not great but a nice story. I just love this series so much this story was a letdown for me.
James Rudolph is a flight trainer at the North Pole. He is growing weary of how perfect the North Pole is and he wants to just get away from it all. Santa must have heard him cause he made him have a forced vacation away from the North Pole.
Magnus Mc Cormack he is a highland Inn keeper. Loner who loves to make his guests comfortable and happy. He loves his live on the farm would not trade it for the world.
This is good story, I am happy I got to read it. As always I will be looking for more from Minerva Howe one of my favorite authors. I highly recommend reading Mated at the North Pole series. It really put a smile on my face and will make you believe in true love.

This Christmas mpreg story is a wonderful read! It left me feeling comfy, and cozy with a smile on my face, and in my heart. Minerva Howe has crafted a romantic, sensual story, with moments and touches that elevated this novella above the usual Christmas book. The main characters, Magnus and Jameson, are perfect for each other. Magnus, an alpha Roe deer shifter, is loyal, self-assured and caring. Jameson, an omega reindeer shifter, is descended from the Rudolph line of flying reindeer. I loved seeing their delightful interactions, as their romance deepened. All the characters, human and animal, are well developed with distinctive personalities. The writing is excellent with a focused plot, and naturally flowing dialogue. Some additional things I loved:
-Setting in Scotland.
-Protective and attentive alpha.
-Omega learning to trust.
-Tender romantic moments including hair nuzzling, lap sitting, feeding tidbits to their mate.
-Balanced amount of unrushed sexy times.
-Pregnancy followed throughout chapters of the book.
-Longer natural childbirth scene.
-Additional chapter following up with family months later.
Highly recommended!

This was a feel-good, Christmassy MM romance with mpreg and a lovely HEA. I liked the chemistry that James and Magnus had together, especially at the start when Magnus worked towards winning over James with his helpfulness and charm. James went from being quite grumpy to smitten with Magnus and they made their differences work. I also liked the ties that James kept with Christmas Village without it becoming a huge angst that he met someone away from there. Although the book is set in Scotland, the actual dialogue of Magnus rarely shows this, meaning that the few moments it's put in there feel forced and don't really work. I'd rather it just not have been mentioned at all; there's no benefit to writing 'luv' instead of love when nothing else in the dialogue reflects any accent or dialect. Just a small nit-picky thing really as it didn't detract from the great characters, steamy moments, romance or the sweet HEA. If you like this genre with mpreg then I'd recommend this book.

I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Fantastic!

I loved this book! The story of James (Rudolph) and Magnus is sweet, fun and full of wonderful Christmas joy and it is an absolute must read! Jameson Rudolph has been told by Santa that he is taking a vacation - whether he likes it or not. So he will find himself renting a cottage in Scotland from Magnus and the journey begins! At first James is a bit rude but Magnus is able to get him to open up about what’s truly bothering him and their wonderful relationship begins to grow. It turns quickly into so much more and soon James is finding more reasons to stay, including some wonderful news they find out by accident. Santa will try to bring James home for Christmas when there is a bit of an incident with some of the reindeer but Magnus stands up for his mate and convinces Santa James is staying right where he is. It will lead them both to the most wonderful Christmas and so much more.

I read an ARC copy of this book and am volunteering my honest review

It begins like the earlier stories. Omega, James Rudolph, is burned out and Santa 6 decides he needs a vacation. His friend, fellow reindeer, Link, finds him a 'self serve' cottage in the Scottish Highlands. There he meets Alpha, Magnus. Magnus' home is the antithesis of Santa's Village, cozy and perfectly imperfect.
They immediately clash. James is a day early. And quite rude. James finds Magnus pushy and a busybody.
Of course they're attracted to each other. And fated mates. This is where the story veers away from the earlier books. James feels out of place in Santa's Village. And he really doesn't care for his current job. And doesn't want to go back.
This is a grumpy/sunshiney story. Magnus is a cinnamon roll Alpha. And all the baking, tea and soup described made me hungry. A sweet story. Great worldbuilding and sexy chemistry. A very enjoyable tale. Fun and quick to read.
I received an advance copy of this book and this is my review.

Jameson Rudolph is one of flight trainers for the reindeers. It has been some time since he took a vacation and is feeling a bit burnt out. He is told to take a vacation and he finds a place in Scotland through the recommendation of a friend. Magnus, a roe deer shifter, lives in the Highlands and rents out a cottage to help make ends meet. He decides that maybe James would enjoy some muffins and maybe more. When the more develops, will they be able to handle the results?

This series is so much fun to read. Set in the same world, each reindeer is forced to combat burn out with a mandatory vacation. James is an omega while Magnus is an alpha. Although when they first meet, James is a bit of a nudge. But Magnus knows how to win a reindeer. When they do finally get together, a spark ignites. Pick up Rudolph. Then, sit back, relax and be prepared to be entranced.

James Rudolph is yet another of the shifters working for Santa that he furloughs for their own good. James was in need of a vacation. He was so grumpy about it when informed and he called a friend to help him find someplace where he can go and be left alone and avoid the trappings of the holidays. He winds up renting a cabin from Magnus, who owns a cottage that he rents near the one where he lives and enjoys sharing hospitality for those who come to stay in his space. At first, James is a bit of a jerk as he is overtired but as time passes and he spends time with Magnus he comes to realize the bond of friendship and more that he is forming with Magnus. Given their inauspicious start neither expected that they were meeting their fated mate. They even get a little something extra from their bonding. This was so cute and Magnus was such a good, patient and nurturing guy. Just what James needed in his life.

his was a sweet story with a grumpy Jameson and a sunny Magnus which all comes to be more meaningful as their relationship deepens. After the initial issues, they had a good relationship. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM relationship with mature content.

James is tired of what he does, but he still loves to fly. Santa tells him he is to go on vacation and James readily agrees. He ends up in the Scottish Highlands where he meets Magnus who is a roe deer shifter & runs/owns the B&B. What I missed is them spending time in their shifted forms together. Once James gets to the B&B, he is kind of rude with Magnus, but eventually he grows to like the company. He also comes to realize that he wants to do other things. So, he starts writing a book & finds out this is what he wants to do as it brings him joy. I would have also liked to see a little of that book, maybe Magnus reading a few chapters. I really enjoy this series & IMO you can read them in any order you want.

Is firstly let me say I got this book from gay romance reviews and this is me leaving my honest review.
And I’ve got to be honest and say this is the first book that I’ve read by this author and didn’t realise it was part of a series that I didn’t take away. Anything from me on this read.
Jameson Rudolph has been given time off for all his hard work by Santa 15 and he goes to Scotland. He is staying in a cottage in the Scottish highlands. It is owned by a man called Magnus and it quickly comes apparent that he is bossy and they don’t have the best start. But given time it comes obvious that these two are mates.
I really enjoyed this read I’d like to getting to know them and how they interact with one another. And there is a little surprise for them both. A really quick read, and I would like to read more from this author.

Sweet, fun story. Jameson Rudolph, is not his relative's red nosed reindeer. He's a reindeer trainer and he's had enough of the antics of his trainees. Santa 15 puts him on a forced vacation. He goes to Scotland, to find peace and get away from 'Christmassy' stuff. He just wants to chill and read. Magnus, alpha roe deer shifter, rents out 2 cottages on his property. He's a smaller shifter, but he can protect himself and sometimes has to remind others. Mags, is instantly attracted to James. He courts with food, companionship and good advice. James, is tense and grumpy at first, but good manners wins out. This is a good story with a fun bunch of animal rescues. It's sweet to watch James relax and be taken care of. Does he relax enough to get his R&R? Great characters and new friends, nicely done! Nice cover art! I received an ARC and am voluntarily leaving a review.

I enjoyed this holiday romance with the grumpy omega and the happy go lucky alpha. Not the usual dynamic that I normally read which made this all the more entertaining. After reading several books in this series, all kept with the theme of the much needed vacays for the famed reindeers. James, coming from a long line of Rudolphs, was in dire need to get away and fate landed him in a cozy cottage owned by a chipper but bossy alpha. Magnus might have been smaller than James but he was definitely all alpha and he was able to turn James' frown upside down. I really enjoyed their built up towards a mated relationship...everything about them was sweet and adorable...especially their sweet wee one at the end. What a lovely holiday romance. I highly recommend...especially if you enjoyed others in this series.

A Rudolph tired of Christmas Village life and a Scottish deer mate. Fate vacay!

This series keeps getting better and better. This story belongs to Rudolph...James Rudolph. The forced vacation is back, giving an overworked Janes a chance to relax. The descriptions of the Scottish cottages bring you home. I felt so comfortable here. Magnus is just delightful. Their attraction is as intense as it is inevitable. I was swept up in their lives from the beginning. Look for a best friend, a cow named Gertie, goats, chickens, a mini donkey, and a puppy. Ooh, and an adorable baby! The HEA is assured, but not what you expected. You are simply gonna love this book!

A quick mm mpreg and holiday romance. I do love a grump, and I loved that this was a grumpy reindeer.

While sweet, I did feel like the writing was more telling than showing things, if that makes sense. And I know this is a shared world so the world building and rules might be mentioned in earlier books, but

This series is a fun idea, an original Christmas story based on based on Santa and his reindeer, but make it an mpreg shifter romance. It’s Jameson Rudolph’s turn for his forced vaccination, per Santa’s orders. I loved how grumpy James is and how he tries to distance himself to his famous red nosed ancestor. It’s a pretty prickly first meeting between James and his Scottish B&B owner, Magnus. I enjoyed seeing James start to embrace his time in the cabin, be charmed by Scotland, and fall for Magnus. Being with Magnus really wakes James up, his evolution was my favorite part of this book. A good low angst romance, I liked both main characters, and it has excellent holiday feels.

When omega reindeer shifter Jameson Rudolph (yes, one of THAT line) is sent on his mandatory vacation by Santa, he chooses a little cabin just outside a small village in the Scottish highlands. His host, Mangus, is a roe deer shifter and an alpha, and he loves taking care of his guests. James is a bit grumpy at first, but Mangus quickly wins him over. Mangus recognizes James is his mate, James is a bit slow on the uptake, but is soon onboard for a fling, maybe more.
Another cute book in the series with descendants of Santa’s legendary reindeer finding their mates while on vacation. Lovable characters are a hallmark of the series, and these two fit right in. Easily read in an afternoon. 4.5 stars

Loved it!

It's sad to see that this series is over. I loved each and every book. It's Jameson Rudolph's turn to take a vacation and the grumpy reindeer shifter wants to go somewhere where he won't be bothered with Christmas cheer. Magnus rents out an adorable cottage on his land and is always very hospitable. Magnus won't be deterred by his grumpy yet hot renter and tries to get to know James. I liked how these two spent time together while getting to know each other. I loved that James wants to be a writer and that Magnus is a wee bit bossy. And the farm animals were a fun addition to the story. This whole series is fantastic and I highly recommend it to anyone that loves reindeer shifters and Christmas.

Fun Series!

It’s unfortunate that this series is over, but I’ve really enjoyed this entire series. Main character Jameson Rudolph, a grumpy reindeer shifter takes a vacation to escape the holiday cheer where Rudolph rents out a cottage from other main character Magnus. Of course, by renting out the cottage Magnus and Jameson get to know each other better although it seems grudgingly on Rudolph’s part. It was endearing the time Rudolph and Magnus spent together, once Rudolph became less grumpy and more open to Magnus. I also enjoyed their personalities as Magnus is a bit bossy at times. Either way this series has been so much fun!

Here we are again in the Mated at the North Pole mpreg reindeer series, and this time, it's Rudolph turn to be able to step back and relax.
James Rudolph is burnt out he needs to get away from the North Pole to relax and be at peace. When he is put on his mandatory vacation, he goes to remote B&B in the Scotish Highlands where he meets Magnus, an alpha roe deer shifter who helps show James how to put himself first instead of his job. This one isn't as sweet as the previous installments, and I love the way Minerva took the idea of the series and ran with it the way they saw it.
Overall, it is a great series that I can not recommend enough for you to give a go this holiday season.

Rudolph is part of the multi-author Mated at the North Pole series. Jameson Rudolph, a reindeer shifter, is sent on a mandatory vacation away from Christmas Village and his job as a flight trainer. He finds the cutest cottage to rent from Magnus, a roe deer shifter, in the Scottish Highlands. I've really been enjoying this series and this book is a wonderful addition. Though James is a bit grummpy at first that doesn't stop Magnus from wanting to get to know his new guest. What started out as a vacation for James turned into so much more for him and Magnus. I recommend this book and series. A great way to start the holiday season.

This was such a cute Christmas story

I loved this. James and Magnus were adorable (though I will willingly admit James is my favourite) and I adored Link as a character (I really hope he gets his HEA too). James was such a sweetheart. Yes he was grumpy but I felt for him - it’s hard to be happy and shiny and jolly when you don’t feel like you can ever truly relax and just be. He needed a safe space to decompress and he hadn’t found that yet. I did like Magnus; despite the initial getting off in the wrong foot, they worked well together and I liked that he gave James a place he could just be. Very much the short, fun, Christmas read I was hoping for!

This was a short quick read that I liked. Jameson Rudolph is not the red-nosed reindeer, thank you. He’s a flight trainer for Santa’s reindeer, and he’s tired of all the reindeer games the new recruits are up to this year. So when he gets a notice that it’s time for a mandatory vacation he decides to go to Scotland to a B&B owned by Alpha Roe Deer named Magnus. This was a pretty good read James was so grumpy when he got there he was unable to relax and his job at Christmas Village was stressing him out so he decides to take a leave. These two begin spending time together and Magnus realizes that they are mates and they get a little surprise. This book was well written with no errors in grammar or spelling.

Rudolph (reindeer) and Magnus (roe deer) story was entertaining, with an unusual pairing that collide the first time they met.
They have some divergences until they sort it out and they acknowledge their feelings.
It was cheerful with a couple of shenanigans and surprises as a turn of events that leads to his happiness and forever place.
I liked the bundle of joy that joined them, the way Magnus stepped in to defend his omega and to take into account his wishes, and the animals they have and that brings them joy.
I liked the story and I'm looking forward to see what happens next.
