An Alpha reindeer + a human who hates the holidays = a recipe for disaster
Blitzen: Santa says I need a vacation. I know if I stick around home I'll find myself back at work in no time, so I head to a human vacation spot instead. New Orleans, LA is thick with humidity and full of holiday cheer. It's the perfect place to blend in while I try not to think about how many days there are until Christmas.
Perry: I can't stand this time of year. All the false joy and greenery gets me grumblier than a gator chasing a swamp boat. All I want is to have a peaceful holiday season where I can avoid all the happy people. Too bad for me the guy who rented my spare room for the week is Christmas incarnate.
Blitzen is the eighth book in the multi-author M/M Shifter MPreg Christmas romance series Mated at the North Pole, featuring Santa’s reindeer who find their mates while on a mandatory vacation. There are ten books in the series. Why not read them all?
Features:
Sunshine Reindeer Grumpy Human Fated mates Magic Gift giving Cookie baking Steamy goodness HEA
I had a harder time with this book than the others. Blitzen over all seemed very uninteresting and serface level only. The plot was alright, but Blitzen's overwhelming love of food and almost inability to think of anything else kinda put me off.
I have to say I had never read this author before but she is amazing! When I first started reading shifter books, it was a really long series. So when it finished and I read other shifter Mpreg stories that didn't really follow the same format, I was thrown a bit. Because what was a shifter. Who was an Alpha and an Omega and what could they do. And explaining Omegas with Slick, what going into heat means. This book in its own unique style covered much of that material. Blitzen is required to take a vacation. He wants great food and he needs a place to stay. Almost immediately his reindeer is recognizing something with scent. But it doesn't become powerful until later. He and Perry are very attracted to one another. But Blitzen reserves everything for his mate. Then Perry is on the back porch right as Blitzen shifts. Blitzen sat him down and explained shifters to him but because he saw a reindeer and he knows Blitzen's name, he has to also explain the magic surrounding Santa and Christmas Village. When Blitzen knots him which he explained before he did it, he said there was a high likelihood Perry would get pregnant. I think Perry was in shock when he was. The other things I read about that I liked were the bite mark. Another that Blitzen said in his head but I am not sure he ever told Perry was about shifters have longer lives and if a shifter bites a human it transfers to them. I have heard so many explanations but you not only explained everything well, you told the story in an amazing and unique way and many times erotic way!

This was such a fun and sweet story. Perry is a slightly grumpy human who hates Christmas due to his upbringing. As one of Santa's reindeer, shifter Blitzen loves Christmas. When it's his turn to take a mandatory vacation, I loved that he lets his stomach choose the destination, New Orleans. He books a last minute room rental with Perry. Turns out Perry is a fantastic cook. I really enjoyed how these two bonded over food. I also liked how Blitzen slowly helped Perry believe in Christmas again. I loved the chapter pictures for each character and the letter from Santa.
What can I really say at this point but I truly adore this entire universe and all the books that have come from it. It's Blitzens' turn for happiness, and he goes to New Orleans for the food. Can anyone blame him! Then, has the luck of renting a room from Perry, a human omega who happens to be an exceptional cook! These two are opposites in so many ways yet so right for each other and are able to find a way to bring balance to both lives without the other having to loose anything in the process.
Santa forces reindeer shifter Blitzen to take a vacation and so picks New Orleans because he likes the food from that area. Human Perry hates Christmas but sadly Blitzen has entered his spare room and loves it.
This was a sweet story of how Blitzen converted Perry and how these fated mates found each other and their relationship. It was an almost instalove story but I did feel that more detail could have been given about why Perry hated Christmas. Easy to read, feel and understand. This is an MM story with mature content set in the omegaverse including mpreg.
Blitzen, made to take a 3 week vacation decides to follow his nose and stomach and go to New Orleans. Realizing the hotels are all booked up, he books a room at Perry's house in the bayou. The 2 get on well and naturally they are fated mates. Again an insta-love story ending in a beautiful baby.
Blitzen and Perry's story is very cute! I love how innocent and excited Blitzen is about the human world. I enjoyed seeing Perry become less grumpy. Blitzen's love of food and choosing a vacation destination based on that is so very relatable to me, and I love it.
I love how two completely different personalities can come together and find love!!! And somehow there is a Santa in the middle!!!! And a little food too!! Thank you Lori
This was a cute addition to the series! I love how much Blitzen loved Cajun cuisine! There was no physical appearance by a Santa in this story, which I missed, and this author needs a proofreader, but it was still a sweet romance and HEA!
Loved Blitzen and Perry! It was great watching them come together and fall in love. Wish we would have gotten a scene with Perry’s friend before they left.
A nice addition to the Christmas reindeer series. Could have done with another edit to pick up grammatical errors & wrong words used, but still a good story.
Although overall I did thoroughly enjoyed the book, it took a while for me to grow a liking to either character. I can’t explain why just that it did.
Character breakdown;
Blitzen; I didn’t think he would turn out to be a golden retriever with an alpha daddy side that sh!te caught me off guard. I don’t truly know how I feel about him but I did adore the reindeer.
Perry: he wasn’t much of a grouch just a man who held some hurt and pain from his past. Not much hating Christmas more like strongly disliking it lol. I also wish I knew more about him.
DNF - I had to stop reading this halfway through... it feels like it was written by a child, sure achild with knowledge of sex :) but a child nonetheless. The main character even behaves sometimes like a child. I would give no stars at all if there was an option.
