The Genetics Investigation Team has been shut down. Section 17 and the Special Projects Animal Asset Division no longer exist. FDA Special Agent April Flowers and Memphis Police Department Sergeant Jake Jessup have gone their separate ways, each running from a troubled past, and each thinking they had seen the last of mutant apex predators. They were wrong. Very wrong.
When a mysterious attack along the Texas border drags our intrepid pair back together, the line between predator and prey blurs. As they peel back layers of deceit, they discover, once again, that while monsters can wear human faces, the deadliest are those created by them.
Secrets are meant to stay buried… until they claw themselves to the surface.
Get book six of the Genetics Investigation Team thrillers, but don’t bother locking the door, it won’t do any good.
Zombies are a hoot, but not possible. The Mutant Apex Predators, or MAPs, on the other hand… Well, to paraphrase an old tv show, we have the technology. And Russ Tilton has the imagination and the talent to make it really real! I’ve read the whole series except Titan, and I have it ready to roll.
Crazy mad scientist Zachery has a dream, to turn normal dangerous predators into super killers. First for the Federal Government to take on terrorists, saving the lives of our soldiers, which sounds good and works a treat. But then he and the government agents he works for get greedy (don’t they always?)
Baboons are ferocious, smart, and fast, given invitrio chemicals and weaned on human blood, they are scary dangerous. Later Russian pigs, hyenas, snakehead fish, and others get the treatment and it’s bloody mayhem all over. They are bred to be huge and trained to be viscious killers, on top of which almost impossible to kill.
Police officer Jake Jessup and DEA agent April Flowers, not kidding here, April Flowers for real, are paired up to investigate some really weird killings, track down the killers, and clean up the messes. With grit, humor, and humanity, they seem to be up to the task.
This my fourth reading in this series. Each one has gotten better. This time the action seems to be more between the human characters than man versus critter. There are bad guys a plenty in this story from drug cartel members to crazy science types to just greedy individuals. Did I feel sorry for the bad guys when they got hoisted on their own leotards the answer was no. Was I glad the good guys made it out alive and in one piece, yes. Still although there is a fairly happy end there are loose ends that need to tied up, which means maybe there will be more stories to come. As to the action in the story well all I can say is don't start reading to late in the evening. If you do you may be up late reading a good story with creatures and idiots, who think they can play god.
This book was outstanding! The excitement and suspense never stopped. I stayed up way to late to finish it. The author did an exceptionally good job when writing this book. The continuity was wonderful. The author really made the story believable. It is the kind of story that makes a reader have nightmares. I make sure my doors are all locked. Kids to the author!
OK first off let me tell you only made it to 37%. I liked all the books in this series up to this one. This one was convoluted. I think it’s from where he tried to integrate the other books in the series into this book. The book just did not flow. Well, at least the first 37%. I normally like this guys riding. As always, this is just my opinion.
Just finished rereading the entire series again for anyone looking an amazing read with a plausible plot about genetic real life Jurassic park this is for you!! My only complaint is I finished the entire series in 2 days kinda like potato chips or beer you always want more!! What ya say my man when do we get #7 ? Dragonman
I actually started book7 and realized I had missed this one, so I got it. I will finish the next book after this. Another great read by Tilton. He comes up with more monsters than you can shake a stick at. Scarier and terrifying. Will April and Jessup make it out alive? You gotta read this one!
The stories just keep getting better! No let down or slowing of pace. The monster critters keep getting bigger, more mean and deadly. What's not to love about these books. Alpha is my favorite so far, and hopefully there will be more to come.
Alpha is another great story in the Genetics Investigation Team series. Ive read all of the books in this series and if you like creature features do yourself a favor and read these books.
I am very impressed with Russ Tilton‘s imagination. It appears he did a lot of scientific research. I have been following this thrilling series. I am looking forward to more.
I love how Tilton weaves old and new characters. The book smoothly transitions smoothly. The action is realistic and intense. I like how the characters grow and the bad guys are real bad guys. I can't wait for the next book.
These books are getting more and more out of hand with more extremely mutated animals in each book. The are a lot of fun though, even though the characters are a little bit flat. There is a lot of action and violence, and the animals in this one are very extreme. I'm not sure if I will continue this series, they are getting just a little bit ridiculous the further we get.
