After reading and love the first book in this series, I was so eager to get to this book and it did not dissapoint me at all.
I just loved the romance in this one. Kellen and JJ were lovely characters but mostly they were just very lovely together. I loved how they met and couldn't stay away from each other. I loved how they tried to reign in their attraction to each other but they weren't able to do it, no matter how hard they tried. I just loved the magnetic pull that stuck them together.
The romance in this one was just so delightful and there was so many moments where they book had me on the verge of terms due to how much I was feeling for the characters and how they were feeling and I loved that.
I was so invested in this story and I very much loved reading it.

We already met them in book 1 (One Night).
JJ was the detective assigned to Mason’s case in One Night, and Kellen is Mason’s friend and coworker at EEMM, an Escort service specifically for MM.
We only saw a glimpse of their encounter in book 1, but that alone let me know that their story was going to be explosive. And it didn't disappoint.
They both had hurtful experiences and carry a lot of emotional baggage, and they both have barriers when it comes to being involved in a relationship. They both need a second chance at love…
The depth of their feelings, being lust, love or pain is incredible to witness. Lynn is a master at making feel all the emotions that the characters go through and really going into depth with them.
I can't wait for the next stories, especially the stepbrothers...

Two Chances is the second book in Lynn Burke’s LGBTQ Elite Escorts spin-off series. This book is mostly taking place, time-wise, concurrently with the first book in this series, One Night.
In One Night we met both of the main characters for Two Chances: Kellen, one of Elite’s LGBTQ escorts, and JJ, the lead detective on the criminal case that’s part of the central plot for One Night. Kellen and JJ come across one another briefly on the courthouse steps during One Night when JJ approaches Mason for a conversation and in this book we get to see that same interaction from both Kellen and JJ’s perspectives near the very beginning of the book.
On my spice meter, this book merits a 2 out of 3. The spice is explicit but not prolific or kinky. The chemistry between Kellen and JJ is something that can’t be faked, though, and these two have it in spades.
I’ve come to appreciate LGBTQ romance novels that take place at a more mature age. Both of the main characters in this book are middle-aged, and sometimes it’s refreshing to see both characters at the same point in their lives, needing a fresh start at a later stage. I love a good age difference or a good college love story, but sometimes people find themselves needing love later in life, too, and it’s nice to see those stories.
That’s why I had a hard time with the way both JJ and Kellen handled their individual issues. Their approaches didn’t match their professions or their ages. Both sex workers and police officers are often in need of therapy, yet neither of these men have sought help. It’s rather irresponsible. This is kind of what turned me a little sour on the book. It wasn’t enough to drop the rating significantly, though, because I still greatly enjoyed the read.
Lynn Burke continues to write consistently great romance novels and I’m happy to ride along.

I loved these two characters so much! Lynn Burke brought the heart wrenching moments but also the heart healing that these two needed.

So much better…
Than the first book!! I thoroughly enjoyed this story and loved the chemistry between JJ and Kellan from the start. I adored how JJ finally got his head on straight and made the right decision. My heart hurt for Kellan but am so glad he didn’t give in and made JJ work for it and put him first. The pacing and the connection between the two MMcs was so much better then the first book. I hope this keeps up for the series…

Two men who had been caught up in relationships where they were taken for granted and made use of, could finally find the strength to accept and move on. Not without a lot of emotional turmoil or threats. Both Kellen and JJ needed to straighten themselves out, change their way of thinking and put their foot down, but it took time and a lot of gumption.
Lynn Burke has the ability to pull you into her pages, boots and all. Her Elite series, both EE and EEMM have hit my heart so hard, it is bruised and crushed with empathy as well as anger on behalf of her characters. Long may she continue.

Both are suffered from clinging to their pasts. JJ from a sense of misplaced loyalty and hanging on to his only 'family', and his fear of being alone. Kellen fears betrayal and letting go, he is afraid to love again.
Luckily, he does have a loving family.
At times I wanted to yell loudly at them, and at others I just wanted to hug the heck out of this pair.
Seriously, this had all the drama, twists, romance, and steam to keep me entranced until the very end.

I absolutely devoured this book! I could not put it down! I read it in a day! The character growth in this book is just phenomenal you see each MC grow so much it truly is beautiful. And don’t get me started on the spice!! One of my favorite things about Lynn Burke’s writing is her spice! Especially her MM spice and this did not disappoint whatsoever! I can’t enough great things about this book it had everything I was looking for I highly recommend!! This series has already became one of my favorites and I really hope we get a Preston and Drake book!! I cannot wait for the next release!

Oh the anxiety JJ and Kellen caused me. I have been rooting for them since book 1 and oh the trouble they had getting their stuff together had me living in their tension. The most frustrating part was it wasn't bad communication used as a plot device. It was JJ, a 40 year old cop who was very aware of his choices. He was just set in his ways. He was used to having no one to answer to and operating a certain way that he never considered changing it. His communication style did not work for having a partner. So many of their issues stemmed from him not recognizing this issue sooner and course correcting. I loved his overall self-awareness as well as his intuition. He could understand things about Kellen that Kellan didn’t even see yet.
Then you have my sweet Kellen who is simultaneously hiding from love and seeking it under protest because of a severe heartbreak that he has let dictate his actions for years.
This book explores how two men inexplicably drawn to one another while believing their heart is unavailable navigate attempting to understand their connection. It's about the devastating effects of toxic relationships and the beauty of found family.
Kellen and JJ are exactly what the other needs to live whole and fulfilling life. You need to read this book and experience the sweet tension as they try to figure out what that means for them and their lives.

HAWT AF!!! Kellan and JJ are hotness personified! Setting the pages on fire with every look, Kellan and JJ are a five-alarm fire waiting to happen. This one grabbed my heart and wrapped it in a warm blanket. I laughed, cried, hoped, and cheered for Kellen and JJ to get their HEA. I also got extremely peeved at anyone who hurt these two remarkable men. The rough, gruff detective and the favoured escort tend to put others before themselves. Because of this, they have learned that loving someone else can lead to a lot of hurt. They both deserve all the happiness in the world after being treated terribly by past partners. With chemistry that was off the charts, Kellen and JJ were destined to be together from the moment they first met. Reading about their journey and accompanying them as they found the courage to fight for what they wanted was thrilling and fulfilling.

Oh be still my heart! I've always loved Lynn Burke's stories but have become addicted to her MM stories in the last several years. They're so good that you want to be besties with the characters. Kellan has had his heart broken and now works for the MM part of Elite Escorts. He says he will never become emotionally involved with anyone again. Along comes JJ with temptation swirling around him. Both are attracted to each other but having been hurt in the past, they try to avoid it! Haha, like that's gonna happen. Once I started this book, I couldn't put it down. I was cheering for Kellan and JJ and when Kellan gets to tell his EX off, oh boy, that was great! I also loved how Kellan's family totally supports him and how they made sure JJ knew what would happen if he broke Kellan's heart again. So good, so hot and so sweet all at the same time!!!

I could not wait to explore the insane pull JJ and Kellen felt at that moment and I was not disappointed!!!! Once again this author had me all up in those feels with this relationship build. Both Kellen and JJ were jaded by relationships, each feeling like second best and never quite enough. These two together were pure magic, from the intense chemistry 🔥 to the quiet times soaking in the affection and love each had been missing in their life. SWOON!! I adored both well written characters, the love that they developed and their super sweet HEA. I would absolutely recommend, this is an easy 5 Star rating from me.

February 6, 2024I have to say that I didn't even look at my TBR when I finished One Night, I immediately jumped into Two Chances because I couldn't wait to see what happened between JJ and Kellen, whom we met in the first book.
I loved exploring Kellen's past and his penchant for running away. I also loved getting to know JJ and his long time role as a f-buddy to another man. Both men are so hurt and so right for each other!
This book has a truly satisfying ending and the hints dropped for book 3 have me salivating in wait for the chance to read Three Reasons when it comes out on February 15th! This book is best read in order, reading it standalone would have you missing elements of the story that begins in book 1.

Kellen joined EEMM in retaliation to his ex cheating on him. If Xavier could have one guy doing him as he was caught right before their own wedding, Kellen could have many. I love how open Kellen's family is with his profession. The love that family has for everyone is heartfelt and endearing. JJ is in love with his best friend, unfortunately it is unrequited love. JJ knows he will never be with Alex, but he will take what he can get. He and Alex have been through so much that he just doesn't know how to tell Alex, no sometimes. Then he meets Kellen and JJ finally realizes he deserves better. The two together help heal their hearts and in return, they fall in love. This is an amazing story, def page turner and I also love getting to see the previous characters from the other books.

Kellen is not looking for love after getting his heart broken. However, working as an Elite Escorts MM division has his carnal desires being filled. JJ thinks he has what his heart wants while being in an open relationship with a man. But just one meeting with Kellen has him questioning himself.
This book has some great steamy scenes that will have you feeling it in all the right places. 😉

This is the second book in the Elite Escorts series and it's even better than the first. There are some wonderful characters and the writing is great with so much chemistry. This is a second chance at love, hurt/comfort, escort/detective book about Kellen and JJ. Can't wait to read the next book.

What an emotional rollarcoaster that had me all over the place, Kellen and JJ sure do bring the heat, passion like never before, and truths they explode off the pages.
Both with emotionally boundaries of being hurt and used these two won my heart, my smiles and some tears. My God this was hot and I think one of my absolute favorites of Lynn's MM stories, the writing and characters are phenominal and so true they come alive right off the pages. I loved it so so much.
Kellen's family is amazing, so accepting and love with their whole heart but don't cross their son lol so very cool.

I loved JJ and Kellen. They didn't want to fall in love but in the end they couldn't hide their feelings from each other. Honestly it was a little touch and go there for a bit. I was worried they weren't going to come back together in the end. But when they came together it was beautiful and so fucking sexy. The spice in this book is great!
