I didn’t read “The Assassin,” so this book was read as a standalone. I found I didn’t need to have read the first book to enjoy this one. This is a good thriller that keeps the reader interested, but not overwhelmed. At the end there are a lot of surprises and the author does a good job of wrapping it all up in the end.

Bleah. Did not finish. This is the second book in what seems to be a 2-book series and I can see why.

buku ke 2 nih......cerita berlanjut....
tony memaafkan selena walo sempat merasakan tembakan maut selena juga hehehehehe
dibuku ke 2 cerita berkembang & ga mbundeti karepe dhewe lagi.
selena diharuskan membantu FBI menghancurkan bisnis wiliam kalo tidak ingin dipenjara or dideportasi.
Tony jengkel sekali karna selena mau saja diperalat FBI.
tony tidak ingin selena menuruti FBI karna bisa membahayakan diri selena sendiri tapi selena ngotot menuruti keinginan FBI karna dia tidak ingin dipenjara.
fobianya akan ruangan gelap & sempit membuatnya ketakutan membayangkan didalam penjara.

selena sekarang tau siapa orang tua kandungnya.

aisssss aq paling suka kalo selena & tony bersweet2 ria begitu.

selena terbiasa sendiri & tersingkir tp kehadiran tony membuatnya merasa dicintai & diinginkan.
tony berjanji akan selalu menjaga & mencintai selena.

hmmmmmmm tp jangan berharap dinovel ini ada adegan super hot antara tony & selena ya^^ hehehehehehehe

I had trouble with this book and speed-read the second half. Why? Because I was unable to identify with the heroine in regards to the man she claimed to love. In his area of expertise she didn't trust him, listen to him or believe him. It was that all too familiar case where the woman dreams of a man who will ignore whatever she chooses to do and forgive and love her anyway. So, halfway through the book I could already see that even though he was right about everything and she was wrong and lucky, Rachel Butler was going to make him ignore the real jeopardy she placed his heart and future in, act like it didn't happen or did't matter and simply preemptively forgive the heroine for anything she does. Ugh.

I already bought the third book in the series and after this find myself now dread reading it.

Based on the reviews of her previous book, and the blurbs on this one, I expected a little more action and verve in this story.

It is fast paced. A good summer read but not the best action book I ever read. It has a little suspense.

A great follow-up to "The Assassin" that has Selena returning to the past she thought she'd left behind. From the opening scene when she's been shot at, you can't put this book down.

This book had slow action pace, and was disappointing compared to its predecessor and successor. Still, it did advance the series a bit and cannot be skipped.
